Obama Supporters Threatening to Burn Down Rodeo Clown’s House

I have a dream. I have a dream that one day rodeo clowns will be able to make fun of left-wing political hacks without respect to race, color or creed… without being banned, threatened with a Federal investigation by the NAACP or having their house burned down.

I have a dream that one day… oh well

A rodeo clown’s controversial Missouri State Fair antics went viral after wearing a President Barack Obama mask. It divided people across the country on whether Tuffy Gessling’s stunt was disrespectful to Obama.

Is that even an issue.

Was Saturday Night Live respectful to Bush? Are clowns supposed to be respectful to anyone?

Gessling started a firestorm – angry rebukes from politicians, a lifetime ban from the Missouri State Fair and more personal hits than he ever faced in the ring.

“I’ve had one lady spit in my face, called me a dirty name, spit in my face and walked off,” Gessling said.

And he says there have been five death threats.

“I’ve had somebody threaten to run me over. One of them wanted to burn the house down,” he said.

Obama love makes some people do crazy things. But did Gessling start it or did the Obama lovers?

Gessling says that hate is actually what finally brought him out to speak. “I didn’t do this to do any hating on anyone. I did this to be funny. I did it to be a joke,” Gessling said.

Gessling said the clown act has been around for generations.

“I didn’t think anything more of it than what we’ve done 15 years ago, ten years ago, five years ago, when we’ve done it with Bush, Clinton and Ronald Reagan,” Gessling said.

But this time, race entered the equation. A white man dressed in a mask of a black president was just offensive to a lot of people.

So were black comedians barred from making fun of Bush? No. Apparently the offense only works one way.

  • Veracious_one

It proves Obamas supporters are just as wacko as is commonly believed….

    • Biff Henderson

One could say they’re acting like the people Obama loves to love. Respect it.

  • Veracious_one

I did this to be funny. I did it to be a joke,” Gessling said.

I guess he didn’t know that having fun is Un-Islamic..

    • kikorikid

Correct. It was not Shariah compliant therefore
      punishable by death.

  • JDsHandsomeSon

He should arm himself and protect his life and property. Obama lovers can be taught manners and respect, but they do not come from always buckling under their fascism. Its comes when you strike back at them multiple times harder than their provocations. They have power only because everyone else has surrendered to them. Bullies will leave you alone if you fight back and do so in a manner that leaves scars.

    • kikorikid

AHHH! Lifes lessons. The Bully is always surprised as he
picks himself up off the dirt. AND, it does not matter if you
win or lose in the confrontation. The Bully gets his reward
in “Dominance W/O Costs”. Plant a vicious right into the
solar plexis of a Bully and you will immediately go on the
      Bullies “Cost too Much List”.

  • The Mad Jewess

These people who support Obama should be thrust out of politics forever

    • truebearing

Or better yet, behind bars….along with Obama and Holder.

    • Joseph Parsons

I agree with you on that one because all they’ve done was get nothing but violent even in Politics but the worse part though is that Obama is in waaayyyy over his head because what he’s about to do is cause WWIII! Honestly I thought it was funny but honestly I hope that some democrats wake the hell up.

  • Interrupting ReplyBot 2012.1

Saturday Night Live isn’t a state sponsored, taxpayer supported event in my state. Is it in yours? Because from your article it sounds like you think it is. If you want to hate on Obama, do it on your own dime.

Also, a big also, I am from Missouri, and went to Sedalia for the state fair MANY times. I do not ever, ever remember seeing anyone don a George Bush or Ronald Reagan mask and invite the crowd to take potshots at them. If anyone has video of such an event, please, by all means post it. But, we all know there is no such video, don’t we? And that this clown is lying through his teeth.

If you don’t want Obama in office, fine. I respect that. Vote him out. But don’t pretend that a crowd of white people making fun of Obama at a state event is anything less than repulsive.

    • truebearing

So what if the fair is state sponsored? Does that mean all 1st amendment rights are suspended? Is Obama “the state” in your befuddled mind? Are we living in a dictatorship, and if so, why are you defending it? Is mob rule and vigilante “justice” your idea of how people should behave?
What if a Republican was in office, you and some fellow racist democrats mocked him, and your life was threatened? How would you feel then?
Your problem is that you lack the intellectual capacity, and education, to figure out that wearing a mask and horsing around to get a laugh isn’t racist, nor is it a crime. Obama isn’t sacred because he’s half black, either. You wouldn’t advocate the death penalty for someone that gets caught selling druges, or robbing a gas station, yet you tacitly approve of the death threats and evil bullying of one man just trying to have some fun at the expense of a politician….yes, Obama is a politician, not a demi-god.
      Wake up and grow up.

      • Interrupting ReplyBot 2012.1

I am not befuddled enough to think, as you apparently do, that the First Amendment allows you to do, or say, anything you want, whenever the mood strikes you. If you think that’s true, try wearing an Obama mask all day at your job (if you have one) tomorrow. If your employer asks you to remove it, tell them you’re exercising your 1st Amendment rights, and if you aren’t fired before lunch, it will be a miracle. Furthermore, there isn’t a lawyer in country who will take your case, because there isn’t a First Amendment right to do such a thing. The First Amendment, however, says that you can wear that mask all day long, everywhere else you go, and the police can’t arrest you for it, and the government can’t prosecute you for it. The 1st Amendment doesn’t give you the right to wear that mask while you’re selling burgers at McDonalds, though, if your employer objects. If you think that’s true, you’re more of a socialist than you claim Obama is.

Really, try to educate yourself before you call someone else a half wit. You have every right to hate Obama, call Obama names, write letters about Obama, leave your wife or disown your children if they love Obama, but you don’t have the right to force your views down someone else’s throat, which is exactly what this whole thing boils down to. Most people go to a fair to have fun, not to have someone’s political viewpoint thrust at them.

As for the death threats, I really doubt if they are true. Just like this clown lied about also putting on a George Bush or Ronald Reagan mask. And, sadly, we live in a country where death threats are real. They are made against whites, blacks, and everyone else. George Zimmerman had death threats. Jesse Jackson has death threats. There is a certain class of sick individuals who do make death threats, unfortunately, and it’s terrible. But don’t get all sanctimonious and claim that, because people like me don’t approve of this tasteless attack on our President (at what’s supposed to be a fun day for everyone, a State Fair) that we are somehow responsible for or approve of death threats. Or that people like you are then somehow justified in calling Obama a Muslim. You saying you agree with this guy below, “Truebearing”, that we’re headed for a civil war, because whites won’t pay for black’s welfare anymore? THERE ARE MORE WHITES ON WELFARE than blacks, you know that, right?

        • TheFIsh

You are incredibly typical, for a liberal.
The VERY last thing you pull up is…
          RACE.
Of course. This renders moot any salient points (if any, but none that I read) moot.

          • Interrupting ReplyBot 2012.1

So all my points that you have read are totally moot, I see. I take it then, if you are a business owner or a manager, that you don’t object to one of your employees showing up tomorrow in a George W.Bush mask, and wearing it all day to exercise his/her First Amendment Rights? Especially if they are doing it because they disapprove of conservatives, because that’s what the Amendment is all about, right?

          • objectivefactsmatter

“So all my points that you have read are totally moot, I see. I take it then, if you are a business owner or a manager, that you don’t object to one of your employees showing up tomorrow in a George W.Bush mask, and wearing it all day to exercise his/her First Amendment Rights?”

We’re talking about professional rodeo clowns. What are you jealous? Monsieur Doosh, do you get that it’s traditional to clown on POTUS, as well as other politicians and public figures?

If you’re saying that there was a change in guidelines and directions from the employer, that would be an even bigger scandal. Got any evidence of that, or do you just create false equivalence arguments as part of your amateur clown gig?

          • Larry Runnels

OK dumbass the clown was hired because he has done this act for years and you just need to look online for the pictures of him wearing the mask for every president for years past.

          • objectivefactsmatter

But he has “righteous outrage.” I’m sure he’s just as angry over Benghazi, NSA, IRS…and so forth.

Unless of course THOSE scandals are phony. Obviously the biggest scandal occurred at the rodeo. OBVIOUSLY!

          • Larry Runnels

You have to wonder why they dont get this worked up over someone burning the flag or desecrate it by putting some traitors face on it.

        • Northstar

“THERE ARE MORE WHITES ON WELFARE than blacks, you know that, right?”
In terms of their statistical proportion of the population?

If he can’t even cite any data…he’s just another clown.

          • Interrupting ReplyBot 2012.1

In terms of what I said. There are more whites on welfare than blacks. However you try to interpret it, for every so called black welfare queen, there are 1.5 white welfare queens. SO please, give us a break with your sanctimonious statistics.

          • Larry Runnels

according to Obama’s govt numbers 72% of black children are born to single mothers. I think thats a little higher than other groups.

          • objectivefactsmatter

“However you try to interpret it, for every so called black welfare queen, there are 1.5 white welfare queens. SO please, give us a break with your sanctimonious statistics.”

Your analysis is flawed. In terms of percentages, there will always be some people who temporarily need assistance. A “welfare queen” is one that leaches from the system instead of making any plans for independence.

Just pulling a single statistic out of who-knows-where is not very useful here.

          • Northstar

There are more whites in the country than blacks.

If “for every so called black welfare queen, there are 1.5 white welfare queens”, that means that statistically blacks are more likely to be on welfare than whites
But statistics is known to have a notorious right wing bias

          • ziggy zoggy

Interrupting SockPuppet, Blacks make up 11% of the population. Whites make up more than 70%. Have somebody do the math for you.

          • Well Done

What is your position on sharia? Obviously you’re very intolerant of any blasphemy against your religious beliefs.

That’s true, when an employee violates management directives. That’s not what we’re talking about here. And not only that, in the case of the clown, he could sue if the backlash was caused by his employer because the precedent had already been set by past performances. It would be CLEARLY ONLY ABOUT RACE to restrict a performance featuring an image of 0′Bama that is otherwise a customary sketch.

Therefore you failed. False equivalence. Failed argument. The clown was not “serving burgers out of uniform.”

          • objectivefactsmatter

Let’s hear you first agree that if any of these were from a state rodeo that you’ll admit what an idjit you are.

And second, where do you come down on deranged leftists like yourself that work at schools that accept taxpayer funds and promote leftist agendas and politicians, even going so far as to openly rebuke students that disagree with them?

            Just curious.

You idiot a rodeo is not a “gov’t function”, and in any event such a thing is NOT exempt from free speech and satire. face it, you’re wrong and stupid.

        • DALTOWN22

You are really an idiot aren’t you? the first amendment gives you the right to wear that mask if you so choice. Your analogy is all wrong, at work you being paid to do a job and look in a certain way that is conducive to the job at hand. If your employer chooses to allow such a mask then you could. Being at a fair, as an entertainer you have the freedom to do so unless the people that is paying your wages stipulate otherwise. Yes I have seen at a county fairs where the clowns dressed up as presidents before and nothing was thought about it at that time. It is amazing that us white folks are the only racist in the world!

For your information! HE IS A MUSLIM!!!!

And you claim this happened at a state sponsored event, paid for by taxpayers?

And pretending it did happen, you’re OK with that, right? It’s all right for guys to make fun of conservative figures at an event you’re funding, as a taxpayer? Maybe whip up an urban black crowd, while you have to just stand there and take it, maybe the only white guy around?

You’d better think hard before you answer. Gee said he’s seen pictures. The article you pointed me to has no pictures.

the wake of ‘Clown-gate’ at the Missouri State Fair, it appears that
professional rodeo clowns will think twice before mocking the president.
But in 1994, Douglas A. Campbell, a writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer
chronicled a rodeo clown even featuring George H.W. Bush.
            From the report:

The big white gate flew open. The bull came out bucking. The rider
flopped from side to side and the bullfighters held back, letting the
bull make his moves until the rider dropped off. Licciardello crouched
in a heavily padded barrel, a human target should the bull decide to
charge. Hawkins waited near the barrel, holding his big inner tube. A
dummy with a George Bush mask stood beside the clown, propped up by a

T.J. Hawkins rolled out the big inner tube, and the bull lowered his

So my original point stands. If someone had worn this Bush mask at say, a huge July 4th celebration in downtown Saint Louis, Tulsa, or Houston (where you might bring your kids, for instance to see fireworks), that would have been totally all right with you? Because it seems that is what you’re saying.

          • objectivefactsmatter

I would have had the same reaction no matter where it was. Although the 4th of July is probably the most sensitive time to attack political leaders, it’s still fair. It has nothing to do with venue but the symbolism of the timing and or the theme of the event. But I mention that only as an aside. The more controversial the more important it is to protect it.

There is a contract between the sponsors of the rodeo and the clown; the clown provides entertainment. There have been a number of videos posted showing the clown with masks of Bush, Reagan, and Clinton; so why can’t the clown wear an Obama mask? Also….a BIG also….who cares if you are from Missouri? “I do not ever, ever remember seeing anyone don a George Bush or Ronald Reagan mask….” Typical liberal ploy…Liberals NEVER remember the other side of the story; because to do so would require them to confront their own hypocrisy. I know things like the Bill of Rights might be a little hard for liberals to understand so I’ll explain it real slow for you. The US and the state of Missouri both have freedom of speech in their Constitutions. What that means is the government, their employees, or agencies CANNOT censor what or how you express yourself, especially political speech. The state fair is held on state property, uses state funds, and is run by state employees. You might have.been offended by having your savior mocked. TFB. There is no right not to be offended. Should they be banned from criticizing our Beloved Leaders?

Interrupting SockPuppet, the taxpayers of Missouri enjoy seeing the POS in Chief mocked. If you don’t like it……leave. Or just stay in St Louis with the other racist losers. The rest of us do spend our dimes “hating on Obama” (illiterate fucktard) but we are sick of him hating on us with our own dimes. Fucking parasite.

Do your own web search for the films of rodeo clowns mocking Republican Presidents. We are sick and tired of subsidizing and working for lazy POS Lefties like you. Maybe you can move to Ohio and get a Cleveland steamer.

Another inch toward racial civil war. Won’t all of these black thugs be dismayed when the government has no money to hand out because whites are refusing to pay taxes so they can buy ammo and guns.

Obama and his “justice” department are considering charges against once acquitted George Zimmerman for a crime he was already acquitted of by a jury of his peers! So does double jeopardy not guarantee he cannot be tried twice for the same crime which he has been proven to not have committed!

    • DALTOWN22

KEVIN, THE IDIOT IN THE WHITE HOUSE HAS COMMITTED TREASON AND BROKE HIS OATH, WENT AROUND THE CONSTITUTION THAT MANY TIMES THAT THERE IS NO LAW THAT HE WON’T BREAK TO GET WHAT HE WANTS.

    • Clown

Unfortunately no. There are criminal offenses, and civil offenses, which are considered different, and therefore not being charged with the same crime twice.

      • Kevin Blankenship

When is everyone going to wake up, are we so stupid these days to not get it? How many alleged crimes did George Zimmerman allegedly commit? There was one interaction this whole civil crime and criminal crime is all B.S. the founders of this nation made no distinction on types of crime as you say that is a recent conundrum of idiots! 5th Amendment to the United States Constitution clearly states: No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. How can it then be interpreted to mean that person can then be tried by anyone within the Jurisdiction of the Sovereign nation of these U.S. compel anyone to be tried twice for the same offense?? He killed T.M. one time and was acquitted for it one time already. I think O.J. was guilty of 1st degree murder twice over, but once he was acquitted there should never have been a “civil” trial that I believe is clearly double jeopardy of limb or property for the same crime.

I’ve been told by some liberal pukes that I know that frequent the American Legion that Republicans are so full of hate and no compassion. We’re full of hate? What about your liberal buddies that threaten the lives of other people, what about babies being aborted? What about the puke that you voted for trying to turn America into a socialist and muslim country? And I’m looked at like I’m an idiot.

I hope it comes back and bites them in the ass.

I read somewhere else that this man is voicing a wish to meet Obama, to shake his hand one day.

    BiG Mistake!

He should double down on his infamy. Although money isn’t everything, standing up for his right to do his job as he sees fit will bring him riches beyond his wildest dreams.

I have no idea what sort of house he has, but if I were him, I would hope the racist hate-mongers burn it down… He will be like that lady on the school bus who was attacked by the students. Her windfall was unimaginable.

If they are successful in marginalizing him, NO ONE will be safe from their overindulgent, wild-eyed shenanigans. This has to stop somewhere. The person who finally stands up to them will be a hero to the majority in America. What they have done to him is classic Alinsky, as taught in the hood, by THE Community Organizer-in-Chief.

So were black comedians barred from making fun of Bush? No. Apparently the offense only works one way.

This is how the left operate. This is how the left think. They are all for “tolerance” unless you say or do something they don’t like. Their main tactics are street demonstrations and attending an opponent’s rallies to shout people down. These are punk-thug tactics. They think they can intimidate people. And, if we respond to them as they deserve to be treated, they will squawk like little girls about their “human rights” and “free speech” and various other causes they seem to think only apply to them. Quite disgusting really.

Liberals are the most tolerant people in the world. If they burned down someone’s house because they disagree with his politics, they’d do so because they’re just trying to gin up another teachable moment.

Mob rule — the new age under Obama…

And where is Holder? In the wings also ready to mete out punishment for such an unpolitically correct expression of First Amendment rights….

You did nothing wrong. Stand up for your rights.wishing you the best.

They are right nothing has changed. For them at every corner they want to see bigotry or discrimination. Who are they, well I guess we just have to keep watching as THEY come out of the wood work. I am sorry that one more innocent person has to suffer because for him things had changed. There was no thoughts of malice just to make people laugh.
How much more of our society can THEY destroy as they try to change us in their image and brainwash us in liberal pablum?

  • Floyd Pink

ah, nigbama. He is a piece of work isn’t he?

  • http://www.stopblamingwhitey.com/ Stop Blaming Whitey

This man has been doing this act for years which has in the past included wearing masks as Bush, Reagan and Clinton. This is BS, if you don’t like him using political fodder for his act, fine don’t watch. But to threaten his life, physically assault him and threaten to burn down his house is nothing short of animalistic and illegal behavior.

People are fed up with the political correctness crap. Where was the national call of outrage from the media when he wore Reagan’s or Bush’s masks and done a similar act?

The liberal left is adept at finding (aka creating) racial divides when it has anything to do with criticism of a black man or in this case a black president. However when the roles and races are reversed it is hailed as a step forward for equality.

Unless they are going to go back and criticize EVERY clown at this fair who has EVER donned a political mask in their act and ban them for life, they owe this man an apology and his job back..
