Did Obama Failure to Enforce Immigration Laws Cause Boston Bombings?

Tamerlan Tsarnaev

Did the Boston bombings have to happen? They might not have happened at all if not for Obama’s history of weakening immigration enforcement on violent foreign criminals.

The Obama administration’s new administrative amnesty apparently directs ICE to wait until an illegal alien commits a serious crime or two before considering deportation. Similarly, according to the administration’s latest 287(g) enforcement scheme, Americans must fall victim to “murder, manslaughter, rape, robbery, and/or kidnapping” before the alien perpetrator becomes a high priority for deportation. Generally, illegal immigrants arrested by state and local law enforcement for crimes like ID theft, public intoxication, and DUI are released back out onto the streets rather than deported.

Now let’s go to Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the dead bomber who didn’t have a single American friend, but did have a domestic violence conviction.

“One of the Chechen terrorists who carried out the Boston Marathon bombings could have been deported years ago after a criminal conviction and the other was granted American citizenship on the 11th anniversary of the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil.

“Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the 26-year-old killed in a wild shootout with police, was a legal U.S. resident who nevertheless could have been removed from the country after a 2009 domestic violence conviction, according to a Judicial Watch source. That means the Obama administration missed an opportunity to deport Tsarnaev but evidently didn’t feel he represented a big enough threat.”

Obama spouted off about the War on Women when he was trying to get elected, but lax immigration enforcement of foreign criminals who abused women kept a Muslim guilty of domestic violence in this country.

Tamerlan was a legal resident and his conviction predated the latest phase of Obama’s immigration pandering mentioned above,  but once he was exposed as a violent criminal, there was no longer any reason to allow him to remain in the United States.

Domestic violence convictions are legal grounds for deportation of resident aliens. Unfortunately Obama’s repeated refusal to enforce immigration laws badly demoralized ICE and led to violent criminals remaining in the country and killing Americans.

Tamerlan was the worst of these criminals… but not the only one.

Obama went to Boston and read some words off a teleprompter. It would have been better if he had done the right thing all along so that the speeches would not have been needed.

“I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction,” Obama wrote in the Audacity of Hope. It might have been better if he had instead stood with domestic violence victims and the runners of the Boston Marathon.

Boston, like 9/11/01, like the vast majority of terror attacks, whether successful or thwarted in time, are carried out by foreign born Muslims. Immigration plays another major role.

Gee, one would think after 9/11, we'd become much more selective in who we allow into our country. Liberalism is a mental disorder.

    • EarlyBird

Was neoconservatism a mental disorder, because I sure didn't see W. Bush do anything about immigration. You and I have, however, seen a record number of deportations under Obama.

Oh, I fully agree with your desire to be more selective in who we let in, but to blame this on "liberalism" is ridiculous.

      • Daniel Greenfield

Obama cooked the books on deportation numbers
        http://www.nationalreview.com/article/346043/cook

"figures recently unearthed by a federal lawsuit in Texas cast serious doubt on the administration’s deportation claims. The number of deportations appears to have declined significantly during the president’s term in office".

        • EarlyBird

I'm aware that the numbers are probably lower than originally reported. Still, he's on track to the be the country's Number 1 Deporter.

          • Gee59

Like the 11 million illegal invaders that he wants to make citizens even though 100% of them are criminals?

      • Sarah

Was Bush President in 2009? No? Then why do you bring him up?

        • EarlyBird

          Here's why.

GSR stated: "Gee, one would think after 9/11, we'd become much more selective in who we allow into our country."

And I agree. No president, W. Bush or Obama, since 9/11 has instituted policies to be more "selective" in who we let in.

So his statement: "Liberalism is a mental disorder," is bizarre, given that this lack of post-9/11 selectivity covers also eight years of W. Bush AND four years of Obama.

It's just reflexively seeing the world through the exhausting "left/right" prism

      • BeginThePurge

To blame it on liberals is semi-accurate (not entirely) as it is liberalism that stands up for not looking further into the connections between people such as these 2 because they are from war zones and claimed asylum due to such. Even though further investigation would have proven the 2 seeking asylum not because of the islamic terrorist attacks in their home country but rather because they had connections to such and were using the asylum loophole to escape russian authorities. To blame Bush or Obama remains completely ridiculous as neither administration had ANYTHING to do with how the 2 came to our country.

And if there were record number of deportations under Obama than why do border states continue to be under constant threat from illegal immigrants whom wage war in our country? The question is rhetorical as you will most undoubtedly continue to blame everyone but your dearest Obama.

        • EarlyBird

If you want to call a free nation of immigrants, which generally has not had to be in the habit of scrutinizing immigrants too closely "liberalism," go for it. I'd call it the American Way, and one which probably should be reconsidered to some degree, where possible, without shutting out the world.

Why are border states under "constant threat?" Because we still have an illegal alien problem. But you don't get to have an opinion about math and facts, and the facts are that he's deported more than (probably) any president so far in history.

          • JR Kipling

It cannot be the "American" way because the present country has nothing in common with the Constitutional Republic, its original values, language, religion or culture. What you call America is a creation of the mass liberal media. It has no basis in history, or even sanity. It is this which you have sanctified as "The American Way"..a media concoction of fake history half truths and outright leftist propaganda. I would think as the explosions go off, the debt mounds up, the cities crumble, the schools fail..I would think that some bit of reality would make a dent in your abstractions and evasions and formulaic knee jerk responses. Is all this failure, terror, and chaos "America"..hmmm? Or is your "America" of tolerance and openness a Leftist engine of destruction.. designed from the start to do just that?

          • Jeff Bargholz

GirlyTurd; as always, you are full of camel crap and your crude taquiya fools nobody. America has NEVER been a nation of immigrants. The U.S. Census clearly proves that the vast majority of Americans have ALWAYS been native born. Even the original British colonies were comprised overwhelmingly of native born colonists. If America ever becomes a nation of immigrants it will degenerate into the same type of dysfunctional scumhole that the majority of immigrants come from.

      • ohboy

"but to blame this on "liberalism" is ridiculous"…

No it isn't, its perfectly valid to blame it on the tards that help put the Kenyan Kommie Klown into office…

      • JacksonPearson

"Oh, I fully agree with your desire to be more selective in who we let in, but to blame this on "liberalism" is ridiculous."

Fault lies with political correctness, and being open to multiculturalism. Multiculturalism is slowly and methodically killing Western Europe. If 9/11, Fort Hood, and the Boston massacre isn't a wake up call, it will eventually devour this country as well.

        • EarlyBird

Jackson, Obama and "the left" have done nothing different than "the right" in regard to being selective about who comes into the country. Okay?

In other words, we had as much of an open door policy under conservative administrations as under Obama. Let's not be stupid about this.

          • JacksonPearson

I'm far from being stupid about this. I blame both political parties for the shape we're in. When 9/11 occurred, G.W. Bush had a golden opportunity to shut down the Southern border, but miserably failed us. Obama refuses to do any different, and refuses to deport. This country doesn't need to import more poverty and problems.

          • EarlyBird

Yes, Obama does deport. He's our number one deporter and has deported FAR more than under Bush.

          • JacksonPearson

Nope…you'll never convince me of that. Obama has deportations on hold. Both are equally crap. Plus, Obama's allowed more Muslims in the U.S. than any other administration as well. Why in the hell do we need Palestinian refugees? WHY?

          • Gee59

Right that is why he is busy releasing violent illegal aliens from detention, correct?

      • JR Kipling

Once you define "liberalism" correctly ..which is to see it as a false, secular religion whose false god is "Inclusion".. ie the mental process by which all reality is ignored to collectivize everything and everyone into a amorphous, mindless, wholly abstract Oneness then YES mass immigration is a product of liberalism. Mass immigration has turned our country from a small, European-American style Republic with a set character an values into a shapeless meaningless anarcho-tyranny that cannot be governed by anything but "tolerance"..and "tolerance" leads to Boston, Ft. Hood, 9-11, etc etc

        • EarlyBird

What's so amazing is that the people on this board can't see the world in its organic form, but only through the "left/right" spectrum, as if everyone is always motivated by political agendas. It's saying a lot about the partisanship that drives the readers of this site.

          • Jeff Bargholz

            GirlyTurd;
What frustrates you is that the people on this board recognize you as a cultural jihadist troll, and slap you down every time you try to usurp and control the discussion with moronic taquiya and P.C. drivel. Your fellow islamic douchetards in Boston were able to perpetrate the jihadist bombings, carjacking and murders precisely because of Obama's ICE administrative amnesty program, her zealous mission to strengthen islam around the world, and the fawning support she receives from the anti-American left.

      • Jeff Bargholz

GirlyTurd; as always, you are lying through your teeth, and your crude taquiya fools nobody. According to ICE records (even the falsified ones) there were more deportations during the Bush administration and far more entrance visas granted under the Obama regime, (especially for islamopithecine colonists.) Conservatives and moderates do not want islamopithecines in our country and leftists ("liberals") do. Obama wants them here as badly as Hamas, Hisb'allah, the Iranian mullahs or Al Qaeda do, and he's making sure they infest America in record numbers.

      • gsr

Ah yes, neoconservativism is a mental disorder as well, for neoconservativsm is just liberalism by another name. Neocons are liberal Republicans. Its the philosophy of "diversity and multi-culturalism", open borders and internationalism , etc.

And to state that Barry has deported more people than any president in our history is laughable and it shows that you are in love with our jug-eared Maxist-Moooslim Boy in Chief. The numbers on his so called deporations are horribly cooked. Oh and how's that simulus bill working out for ya, not to mention Obamacare? What a total joke.

  • EarlyBird

Yep! It's all Obama's fault, because two foreigners who came to the country years before Obama's presidency did the bombing. And one guy was arrested for battery on his girlfriend and wasn't summarily deported.

And even though there have been more deportations of illegal immigrants under Obama's administration than probably any other in history, he's personally reponsible for this act of terror.
    http://www.alternet.org/immigration/obama-track-d

Can we bomb and invade Iran now?

    • BeginThePurge

They're chechen not iranian… And Russia remains constantly engaged in the area these 2 terrorists heritage is from.

      • EarlyBird

I know where they're from. And the question for the Front Page goons remains: "Can we bomb and invade Iran now?" That's what this site is dedicated to.

I'm surprised that we're not reading a breathless call from lil' Danny Greenfield that we need to invade and occupy Chechnya to show moral clarity.

        • JR Kipling

Isnt time to scream No Blood for Oil and pump your fist in the air and shuffle off? Wait..Don't go yet..scream "racism" for us..real loud okay?

    • kasandra

You're exactly as I claimed the other day. You say that deportations of illegal immigrants increased under Obama. A respondent shows you the information that the books were cooked and that an analysis of the available information indicated that the number of illegal-immigrant removals has dropped 40 percent since June 2011 and that earlier estimates were overblown as well. And what do you do? Read the article? Do any research yourself? No, you repeat the same untrue claim of the administration that you made before you were advised of the information from court case. I guess you think that if you just keep repeating an untrue claim enough people will believe it's true – you know, like Obama does. Well, that doesn't fly here.

      • EarlyBird

I did read the article and I'm very aware of the claim. And I AGREE. However, that still doesn't reduce the fact that Obama has been our number 1 deporter, even with the lower figures.

My son-in-law is a mid-level ICE agent whose job it is to catch violent illegal immigrants and deport them, and all of his colleagues agree that when Obama came on board their case loads exploded.

In other words, Kassie, I'm far more informed on this particular issue than you are. One article from National Review is not the word of God.

        • Jeff Bargholz

GirlyTurd, your phony anecdotes don't make you an expert on anything otrher than fallacious argumentation and taquiyah.

    • JR Kipling

I will show you mile upon mile of Washington DC suburbs tthat now have sprung up filled with third world immigrants since Obama took office. The "deportations" of Obama are a fantasy. No one falls for it..well, almost no one.

      • EarlyBird

JR, if you want to say a lot of Third Worlders have entered the US under Obama, so be it. But that still doesn't erase the face that he's responsible for a record number of deportations. Both facts can exist at the same time.

You don't get to deny facts just because they threaten to pop your partisan bubble.

        • JR Kipling

Here is an excellent question. Since Daniel Greenfield in a magnificent writer of broad and comprehensive understanding..what is a befuddled bean counter like you doing reading him?

        • Jeff Bargholz

A lie repeated often enough does NOT become the truth.

You don't get to lie without being punked.

        • Mary Sue

i bet you they only deport white christians!

    • JR Kipling

35,000,0000 Third Worlders have been let in since 1980. 20,000,000 have entered illegally, millions more stay on expired visas. This problem isn't Bush or Obama..it is Liberalism an its tenets..that have turned our country into a ungovernable nightmare of no culture and increasing tyrannous surveillance and restrictions. The enemy is "diversity" and all its devotees.

    • Ar'nun

A link to alternet. Might have well had been Inspire magazine.

I must say, I love how you defend the President of hope and change with the people he was supposed to be a change from.

    • Gee59

Iran invade the US in 1979 and the Peanut did nothing. Nor has any other President done a damn thing about.

But if you wish to compare facts – the invasion of the US Embassy was an invasion of the United States and it is used as terrorist training camp ever since

    • AnnMarie

This chechen was arrested and let go in 2009 after a domestic violent charge against him. He should have been deported in 2009, Obama was resident of WH then.

  • Mirjam

Didn't they just recently relax the rules on student visas from Saudi Arabia…..it's insane!!

  • Geepers

The BOSTON MARATHON BOMBERS entered the USA 10 years ago under the BUSH PRESIDENCY and they also received ASYLUM at that time. They entered the USA at 9 years old and 16 years old with their parents and two sisters as CHECHEN ISLAMIST refugees. They were granted asylum in 2003.

    • Daniel Greenfield

But one of them was convicted of domestic violence and should have been deported in 2009

      • EarlyBird

Yep! So basically Obama has blood on his hands.

        You silly hack.

        • Ar'nun

And this isn't the only blood.

        • JacksonPearson

Like it or not, few U.S. presidents walk away without having some blood on their hands. It goes with the job of defending our country.

          • objectivefactsmatter

"Like it or not, few U.S. presidents walk away without having some blood on their hands. It goes with the job of defending our country."

That's fine but blood on a president's hands that comes from defending Islam is not acceptable.

        • Jeff Bargholz

You are half right–which is as close to the truth as a jihadi troll can ever come.

      • JR Kipling

Somalia sex traffickers, Mexican drug lords, Chinese spies in US universities don't get deported.
Obamas aunt has been defrauding the US Govt for decades in subsidized housing. There is always
a liberal federal judge to celebrate diversity and let them go.

    • JR Kipling

The whole "refugee" process is CORRUPT. It starts with a list handed by the U.N. to the State Department with "approved" names. The U.N. does the approving…when you live in Chechnya or Somalia or Nigeria the U.N. official is as purchasable as everything else. For some money..the local Chechen warlord gets his family moved to the top of the list and voila they are in the USA where all of a sudden there poverty and desperation evaporate and soon they are driving Mercedes attending private schools in Boston. Bush didn't change any of this because Bush was a liberal. ..he believed in One World, open borders, and the US military aiding Islam to get "free".

    • John C

Yes, and then in 2009 during the Obama administration did not deport him when they had the chance to stop Women from being abused. So not only did he allow this guy to abuse women, and probably many more people convicted of abusing women are set free, he was allowed to kill 2 women and a young boy and he allowed 13 women to have limbs (legs) torn from their bodies by this guy. It's the law of unintended consequences, Obama traded the lives of 2 women, an 8 years old boy, a Policeman and trade the limbs of at least 20 people, their legs torn off by the bombs, including 13 women for the votes of people who shouldn't be in the country. I'm sure he is quite proud of himself.

    • annmarie

This chechen was arrested and let go in 2009 after a domestic violent charge against him. He should have been deported in 2009, Obama was resident of WH then.

Obama's middle name is HUSSEIN. This alone should tell us enough about what side he is on. I bet he is pissed these guys are fellow Muslims.

    • EarlyBird

      Yeah! And he's black!

      • JR Kipling

He certainly is black. And its wrong to stereotype any body on basis of race. You can prove how wrong this is by giving a list of the black leaders that haven't bankrupt their cities, and corrupted everything they touch. Maybe the mayors of Birmingham Alabama, or Chicago, or Newark or DC or Gary or Detroit? Work diligently…stereotyping is always wrong.

      • Jeff Bargholz

Yeah! And he's not Black, though he sure capitalizes on Black skin privilege.

  • BeginThePurge

This post illustrates how both sides of the aisle are filled with people that know just enough to be dangerous but not enough to illustrate proven logic. Obama and the current administration nor the last had anything to do with the laws that allow people to claim asylum in our country, had we allowed ICE to be able to further their investigation into all immigrants ESPECIALLY those whom claim asylum, only then could such things be prevented. But this is a problem that came to be long before either Bush or Obama took office.

    • Daniel Greenfield

The problem predates Obama but he further weakened enforcement in a number of areas

    • Jeff Bargholz

This is an existential "problem" right now and Obama is president of the Unitede States right now–supported by the left side of the "aisle. "Stop making excuses for the people who are STILL working to increase islamopithecine immigration to America.

  • Cat K

Yes, Bush was either misled or had beliefs that hurt America in terms of immigration and dhimmitude toward Islam. I can't say which -perhaps both. Obama,in his own writings, tells us he is on the side of Islam if there is a conflict between Muslims and anyone or anything else.
Is there a qualitative or quantitative difference between the two presidents in terms of immigration?
Well, I think there is now not even lip service to Americans (children &grandchildren of immigrants who came here to live good lives and mainly love their new country). There is now open willing servitude to Islam from the government and network/cable media and open hate speech toward white men. There is also a big silence – a lack of concern – about how women are treated in Isalm.

  • patriothere

Mohammedeans did this and they will continue to do so, they say it all the time and they mean it. They commit act of terror all over the world, tens of thousands of times since September 11th, 2001 alone. • Basil

Shillman, I agree with the part that those who commit felonies including assault and are not citizens should be deported. However, I’m not a support of prejudice against any group. If Obama said he would support Muslims in the sense he supports moderate Muslims, then that’s fine. If you go into that slippery slope of all Muslims are wolves in sheep’s clothing, you lose your morality as a human being. In Chechnya, you have moderate Sufi type Muslims and Jihadist elements who see non-Muslims as infidels. The Chechnyans converted to Islam in the 16th century probably to get help from the Turks against the Russians. They wanted a powerful ally. Over time, they kept battling for their freedom and independence and more extreme elements gained in popularity over time. Also, in the 1990s, Saudi fighters promoted Wahhabist thinking thus making the extreme elements more popular than before. That’s the side of the culture the older brother was relating to, I presume. I support deporting felons as you do, but I want to be careful not label every person born Muslim as bad, and Obama was not thinking of Muslims when he didn’t want to be quick to deport someone for say assault. He was thinking of immigrants, in general.
He wasn’t thinking of Mr. Crazy Tamerlan.

  • Michael Copeland

"Most Muslims are good people. They are kind, generous, caring, hospitable, wonderful human beings. What is wrong is Islam. Those Muslims who do bad things are those who follow Islam. Too bad we can't look at this objectively without the liberal vs conservative arguments and realize that our immigration policy and enforcement protocols are seriously flawed.

  • Jack Wisdom

I have to respectfully disagree with Mr. Greenfield although I usually agree with him. The incident about domestic violence pre-dates the present rules that are handcuffing ICE. Further, while domestic violence is bad, it should not be grounds for deporting someone who is here LEGALLY. I think that's Mr. Greenfield's error. ICE is being pressured to look the other way regarding activities of illegals that are not felonies, and discretionary decisions by agents in the field are being rejected and agents punished if they arrest illegals who do not commit felonies. This is a different situation and cannot be laid at the feet of the present dilution of enforcement.

  • http://twitter.com/DanaZZGarcia @DanaZZGarcia

Absolutely correct that diverse Muslim immigration endangers Americans. Living in this country for years is not enough to erase powerful Islamic programming, as we see clearly in the Boston case and many others.

  • Chris

Bush like Clinton, Bush Sr.,Reagan etc is long gone. let’s focus on the issue at hand which is the terrible presidency of Obama. never has our country been weaker, dumber or more vulnerable to attack. I agree with your article, but the last paragraph has a misquote, which has been going around the internet for a while. Obama didn't say he would stand with the Muslims. The exact quote is in the link below (not the best link, but a quick and simple one). In context he was definitely trying to stir up anti-American sentiment with race baiting, but he wasn't directly referring to Muslims.
You did not cite the page number in the book, as most people do who post this quote (as being on page 260 or 261) and I'm glad you didn't because when I see that it tells me someone has just copied the info from someone else's blog page. When I first saw this "quote" on facebook, I had to find it in my own copy of Audacity of Hope (which I read so I'd know this man's thinking, instead of what uninformed liberals say he believes) and in my paperback edition it is on page 309 in the chapter called Race. I am very thankful for you and your relentless pursuit of the truth, about the danger of Islam and of Obama. I hope this info helps you be even more truthful. God bless. (you do not need to post my comment – it's just for your benefit)
