Only 7% of Americans Think ObamaCare is Working

Clip145

Not only isn’t ObamaCare working… but Obama isn’t working either.

Thirty-seven percent now approve of the job Mr. Obama is doing as president, down from 46 percent in October — a nine point drop in just a month. Mr. Obama’s disapproval rating is 57 percent — the highest level for this president in CBS News Polls.

Approval of ObamaCare has dropped to 31 percent – the lowest number yet recorded in CBS News Polls, and a drop of 12 points since last month. Sixty-one percent disapprove (a high for this poll), including 46 percent who say they disapprove strongly.

More women now disapprove than approve of the job Mr. Obama is doing as president.

Republicans are nearly unanimous in their disapproval of the law, and now more than two-thirds of independents agree. Almost six in ten Democrats continue to support the law, but their support has dropped 16 points from last month – from 74 percent in October to 58 percent today. Support has dropped 11 points among independents and five points among Republicans.

Just seven percent of Americans think the Affordable Care Act is working well and should be kept in place as it is. Far more, 48 percent, think there are some good things in the law, but changes are needed to make it work better, and another 43 percent think the law needs to be repealed entirely.

So the strategic gap between pushing directly for repeal or “fixing it” until it collapses remains. I think for the moment that the “fixing it” approach is an easier sell and can be used to split off Dems from the herd and lead them to dismantle ObamaCare until it’s no longer viable.

“Here we are, we’re supposed to be selling this to people, and it’s all screwed up,” one chief of staff ranted. “This either gets fixed or this could be the demise of the Democratic Party.”

    soon it will be 0%

There is a cycle of situations that cause folks to say, “this could be the demise of the Democratic/Republican Party.” As much as I would like to see the Democratic Party crater, I doubt it will happen. Just as I doubt the Republican Party will come to its demise. There may be people splintering off to form a new party or parties some day, but the stupidity of the ruling elite is, for the time being, too well entrenched for either party to die.

I agree. The website can and will be fixed. Eventually problems will be solved, one way or another.

At best, it could hurt the Dems for one or two election cycles. By then, the Republicans are sure to do something stupid.

From what little I’ve heard about the problems with the web site, including the guesstimate that it is only 30% complete, and knowing what I do about such projects, maybe it can be fixed. But, it will be a massive kluge and never really work well. Apparently security concerns were an after thought in the project design; that’s a very bad sign. They would be better off tossing it and starting with a clean sheet of paper and attempt to do it right. And if they do, they need to make sure they get a team that really knows how to develop that kind of system.

its not just the website they have a ton of pages of regs noone read to make sure they work together at all. You can make the website work but if the program its for doesnt work it doesnt matter

I wouldn’t be so quick to predict the demise of the Socialist party just yet….the rats will always just scurry off to somewhere else. Some people are just stupid and no amount of ‘edumacation’ can change that.
