Praying for a White American Terrorist

The reactions to the Boston Marathon Massacre were predictable. Alex Jones was going to cry false flag and the media was going to blather about right wing extremism.

Now a suspect, or another suspect, has reportedly been arrested. But before anything happened, the left was hoping he was white. Would his whiteness do anything to change the horror? Would it bring back the lives of the three people murdered, including a little boy?

No, but it would apportion blame in the way that the left thinks is ideologically correct. The loony David Sirota, who has become the go-to guy for bizarre quotes on race and violence, usually finding some backward way of blaming white people for everything, was open about his priorities.

“Let’s hope the Boston Marathon bomber is a white American,” Sirota wrote at Salon. Not, let’s hope he’s caught. Or let’s hope he doesn’t strike again. Let’s hope he’s a white man. That’s not just racism. It’s completely amoral racism.

Sirota looks at terrorism not through the lens of actual existing terrorist organizations, but race.

Privilege tends to determine, he writes, which groups are — and are not — collectively denigrated or targeted for the unlawful actions of individuals

This has been most obvious in the context of recent mass shootings. In those awful episodes, a religious or ethnic minority group lacking such privilege would likely be collectively slandered and/or targeted with surveillance or profiling (or worse) if some of its individuals comprised most of the mass shooters. However, white male privilege means white men are not collectively denigrated/targeted for those shootings — even though most come at the hands of white dudes.

One of the problems with Marxists is that they’re clever idiots. Sirota’s screed is a reminder why. Rather than examining the broader picture of events, they view them through the lens of a single category. Class, race or gender determines everything.

Sirota doesn’t need to know anything about the attack or any other attack. All he has to do is equate Adam Lanza to Nidal Hasan based on minority status. (Though Mother Jones, which Sirota formerly relied on, lists Hasan as a “White Dude” to increase the ranks of white dude killers killing in the name of white privilege.)

Meanwhile, non-white or developing-world terrorism suspects are often reflexively portrayed as representative of larger conspiracies, ideologies and religions that must be dealt with as systemic threats

Are they portrayed as such or are they actually members of larger conspiracies? That’s the basic factual question. But we’re not in the realm of facts here.

Sirota isn’t interested in discussing actual real world facts. His facile skill, the one most prized by today’s leftellectuals, is reducing all things to race.

Sure Hasan corresponded with Anwar Al-Awlaki, the Al Qaeda mastermind who found his way to half-white dude, Obama’s kill list. But that’s just more white privilege talking.

Asserting white privilege frees us from having to consider any facts. It preemptively delegitimizes all facts and reduces all dialogues to a catalog of grievances. Even debate becomes a crime.

After September 11, and I do mean right after, lefties hung up signs against the War in Afghanistan, that had not even started yet, arguing that we didn’t bomb any of the places McVeigh lived after Oklahoma City. Sirota brings up a variation of the same tired argument that misses the point.

If McVeigh had been part of an international Neo-Nazi group with thousands of fighters and millions of supporters operating in an area outside the United States, we would have bombed it. He wasn’t. Neither was Adam Lanza or the Columbine shooters. The 9/11 hijackers were.

Those are facts, which are a notorious form of white privilege. Muslim terrorism is a collection of organized international movements with a deep base of support from outside the country. It’s an invasive force. It’s also far more lethal. That holds true regardless of who carried out the Boston Marathon Massacre. The list of bombing plots averted by the authorities in the last 15 years are ample testimony to that. But while most people care about stopping the violence, lefties like Sirota would like us to racially classify the violence.

Even if it was a White American, what makes anyone think that Left Wing Extremists don't also exist in White? After all, what was Bill Ayers?

    • Chris

Shhh! You're not supposed to mention obama's murderous friends. They got off on leftist privilege, now they are distinguished acadamics. Perhaps the Boston bomber can one day teach at Columbia!

Indeed, Bill Ayers and his Weatherman friends bear a resemblance in their tactics at least to the Boston Bomber: Terry Robbins was putting together a bomb very similar to the pressure-cooker one in Boston that Weatherman was planning to detonate at an Army dance when the bomb went off, shredding Robbins and killing Ayers' girlfriend and a third Weatherman. Robbins had more nerve than Obama-pal Ayers, but Ayers went along with the plot – a fact the media didn't think worth mentioning during any of Obama's political campaigns.

I was so incensed after reading Greenfield's typically excellent, and disturbing, post that I rattled off my comment without reading yours first. I didn't intend to copy your succinct point with my rather long winded one, but once I got done ranting, I noticed you said it first…but it certainly bears repeating. :)

Bill Ayres is a leftist hero, as the rest of the pack.

    • objectivefactsmatter

"After all, what was Bill Ayers?"

Ayers was "resisting white privilege." He's an angel. Always has been.

  • truebearing

Sirota is an idiot, as he so thoroughly documented in his ridiculous, tortured blitherings on race and terrorism. What happens to his ridiculous polemic when the terrorist happens to be a white guy who is also a Marxist or Muslim? Bill Ayers comes to mind, or Johnny Walker Lindh. Simpleton Sirota's stupid argument can't accomodate even the slightest divergence from his double barrel racist rut.

How ironic is it that a doctrinaire fool like Sirota can't see the primacy of ideology in human motivation, as opposed to race, when he is goose stepping so high he kicks himself in the face? Or equally and laughably ironic, his arguments purported to destroy racism are perpetuating it in evermoronic ways.

Anti-war leftists have proudly flaunted the truism that you can't end violence with violence, but abandon that rationale when they attempt to destroy racism by instigating more racism. Of course they are just saying they oppose racism. They actually love it. Racism, or perceived racism, is the primary fulcrum from which they leverage political power. It is their number one tool for dividing people and creating a political opportunity by isolating groups and weaking nations through discord. Once again, the Left is one huge lie.

I have very little patience for the reflexive kneejerk leftists who insist "If they're anti-government they're right wing!" Don't you? XD

    • Smitty

Yes, he's an idiot, but it is no surprise that outrageous remarks made by such idiots seem to garner press coverage. His logic approaches that of Charlie Manson, a man long considered loony by everyone else except Charlie.

  • BLJ

Another liberal pinhead. What's new? They are all probably down on their knees praying for this. (Notice the type of things these creeps pray for?).

On another note I have never bought into the fact that McVeigh and Nichols were the masterminds of the OKC bombing. I still thing Saddam had something to do with that.

    • Cat K

BLJ, There is a book I have read on McVeigh that suggests he came home from the service with anti-American views and then had some contact with Iraqis in America. In the MSM,he is painted as being just like a Tea Party Grandmother who picks up the trash on the lawn after a gathering. Completely erroneous comparison! I wish I could recall the author's name. It was interesting to speculate about who in our government it might have served to suppress this information during the trial of McVeigh.

Read Jayna Davis — The Third Terrorist. I wish this message would go viral, as an effective weapon of the left could be easily taken out if the truth were known.

"Even debate becomes a crime." Exactly. It is as if they *want*, they *need* to criminalize political opinions (it is very much like Canada's "human rights" tribunals which turn non-politically correct thought into Crimes against Humanity and in which the "thought criminal" must be censored and shamed into silence. It really is Stalinist.)

    • defcon 4

Canadians are being arrested in Canada and being charged w/hate speech for criticising islam.

  • Al Zanco

Meanwhile, in Texas where reverse-racists have been slavering for arrests in the murders of the prosecutor, plus the judge and his wife? You know, to arrest "white supremacist prison gang members". It turns out to have been a personal grudge. A magistrate who was prosecuted and convicted for theft, along with his own wife, seem to have done the murders.

(Still waiting for even one instance of the media saying 'black supremacist' or 'brown supremacist' prison gang.)

  • UCSPanther

Most of the so-called radical right wing, white supremicist terrorists that have been seen have only caused minimal damage and for the most part, quickly contained and properly punished, the same of which cannot be said for radical left wing WHITE terrorists (IE Bill Ayers)…

    • Smitty

It isn't that it CANNOT be said; it is that it WILL not be said….at least by the national liberal media. Why must I always have to wait to read anything of value in online publications such as this one?

  • MeSoHornish

I bet it's a quadrapelegic Swiss man on a pony between the age of 20-40.

Until we know, this is all just blather. I must say everyone's speculations are quite entertaining.

  • JacksonPearson

    NOUN – terrorism 'te-ur,ri-ism:
"The calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear"

Praying for a white American terrorist is ludicrous and frankly stupid thinking. It's liken to someone praying that the unabomber wasn't Ted Krysinski, when it was. Authorities will have to deal with whatever the realities are and not the what ifs, or I hope it was so and so, instead of this and that! Geez…

  • WilliamJamesWard

Sirota isn't that short for serial rot………..How do idiots like this get paid to write this trash,
glad you asked, because they are idiot leftists and trash is thier high point……………William

    • Daniel Greenfield

      Oddly enough it means orphan

  • Ghostwriter

This Sirota guy is an idiot. His need to classify EVERYTHING by race is just abominable. Why doesn't he stop writing these imbecilic essays and look around him. He needs a reality check.

  • Ar'nun

Even if he is white, that doesn't prove the theory of it not being Islamic Supremacy. John Phillip Walker Lindh was a "white dude". Adam Yahiye Gadahn aka Adam Pearlman aka "Azzam the American" was also a "white dude". Abu Mansour al-Amriki was a "white dude" born in Alabama.

The diseaesed Cult of Mo has many white Mujahadeen. So it could very possibly be a "white dude". Islam has many races and ethnicities under its curse.

    • Daniel Greenfield

True. We've had converts showing up in a number of attacks. Including recently.

  • Rifleman

Sirota doesn’t say he hopes it’s a white American because nobody will have sympathy for one of those so we can execute the scumbag then go to the ends of the earth to get his comrades, if he has any. He says hopes so because he thinks we won’t go after a group of white guys waging a terror war and conspiring to murder Americans.

That’s absurd, McVeigh was said to represent Christians (though he was agnostic), the militia movement (though they wouldn’t have him), and anybody speaking ill of the government. The only white Americans he speaks of that get this privilege of his, are his fellow leftists. Then he goes on about double standards.

Near the end, he admits what he’s really worried about is how an Islamic perp might monkey wrench the left/dp’s agenda.

    • "gunner"

consider it monkey wrenched, they were two chechen islamics. i suggest we put these leftist talking heads in stocks, in the public square so we can enjoy pelting them with rotten fruits and vegetables, as was the custom in older times.

  • objectivefactsmatter

Is that what he was hoping for?

  • Jeum

There are differences in terror activities – each has different trademarks and different triggers. "False flag" aside, Ghaddafi's Libyans tend to act like these – they're not like the PLO or other Palestinian terror groups, which quickly claim "credit." Libya denied Lockerbie until forced to do otherwise.

Benghazi was a double betrayal – or triple. In the end, the administration betrayed our own, because that's what they do. This may be a revenge-bombing, and could have something to do with Benghazi. Not that this administration would ever own up to creating the conditions for terrorism, a charge that the Left has used against the Bush administration time and time again. If it were revenge, Brennan is the person they're working against – and his drones. Internecine war amongst muslims is as common as sand.

  • Jeum

This administration also has a man named Eric Holder, who uses PATCON to radicalize muslims – but they usually manage to intercede before the Shiite hits the fan. (That's the terrorist's family's belief, and they may have something there, as history indicates.) This would be another version of Fast and Furious, too – which continues to kill Mexican civilians and resulted in the death of at least one Border Patrol agent, Brian Terry.

I'm betting that this all goes back to Benghazi. Leftists can pray for whatever they want, but they only make themselves look infantile. Let them pray for space aliens to come and rescue them, or for the earth to spin the human race into space – they always pray delusional prayers anyway. And they're led by a Delusional in Chief.

  • Jeum

Why would a Chechnyan group target the US? That's a big question. False flags aside, I'm guessing that these were/are hirelings. Libya? Maybe. Iranians? Not so likely, but possible. Palestinians? They always back the wrong horse, but they are stupid and cheer such events openly, and these terrorists are deeper and better organized. There are too many eyes for them to work easily.

I'm guessing that these are Ghaddafi's holdouts, and this is payback.
