Rabin Anniversary Finds Israel’s Left Living in Denial

Over at Tel Aviv’s Kings of Israel’s Square, it’s time for another Rabin Anniversary. The interminable commemoration and exploitation of Rabin’s death.

The real Rabin was fairly skeptical of the peace process linked to his name and was growing more so as Muslim terrorism increased. But the imaginary Rabin who shows up each Rabinaversary is an imaginary character, an aged John Lennon, who spoke non-stop about peace all the time.

The Rabinavery has become an opportunity for the inbred Tel Aviv left to demonstrate just how stupid it really is.

Rabin’s grandson, Yonatan Ben Artzi, one of the speakers, called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to take advantage of the opportunities before him to bring peace, telling him this was his chance.

“My grandfather was murdered over peace, and you owe us all peace. You have a unique opportunity to take advantage of the world situation for peace. It won’t be easy or popular. But it’s your time to close a circle and bring us peace,” Ben Artzi said.

That’s the same bizarre fantasyland rhetoric we’ve been hearing for two decades now.

“Bring us peace.”

Where is the peace supposed to come from? Never mind. Just bring it to “us”. As if Netanyahu has peace in his pocket that he can dole out any time he wants to.

The left has reverted once again to a vocabulary in which peace takes the place of social equality as a magic commodity that can be produced any time that the leadership really wants to.

Nobody is owed peace. Certainly not by their government which is dealing with a state of war declared against it since before its founding. Only a spoiled brat would think and talk that way.
