Roger Waters Supports Cultural Boycott of Israel, Opposes Cultural Boycott of Himself

Another brickhead in the wall

Roger Waters is just this guy you know. He supports boycotting Israeli musicians and urges American musicians not to perform in Israel. But he is shocked, saddened, grieved and aggrieved that a Jewish center would then boycott him… because dialogue is important when he’s the one doing the speaking.

Waters, who believes that Israel is an apartheid state forged by the Zionist Devil in the flames of hell, was due to appear at the 92nd Street Y, which is a great place full of events about how Israel sucks, but then there was blowback and backlash and the boycotter got boycotted.

On his site, which appears to have been frozen in time back when MySpace was popular, Roger Waters responded with a hurt note bemoaning Jewish “sectarian prejudice” for scuttling his appearance.

“In these troubled times, opportunities for serious, measured discourse are too precious,” Waters writes with a hilarious lack of self-awareness, considering that his response to Israel has been to try and shut down all forms of cultural discourse, right down to a philharmonic performance.

And besides Roger Waters was willing to talk about so many other things. And he wants the 92nd Street Y to remember that he is not a one trick pony. He can do more than discuss how the Jews are really Reptilian space aliens or how all the gold in the world is hidden under Netanyahu’s basement floor. There’s so much more to him.

I have other interests, we could have talked about how Pink Floyd got its name, or whether David and I will ever get back together (sorry, irony) or suicide rates among returning veterans or Las Madres de Malvinas, or the missing in Mexico, or the concept of Us and Them.

40 years later, the number of people interested in stories from faded rock stars about their bitter issues and glory days is remarkably small.

And the number of 92nd Y’ers interested in hearing about a faded rock star discuss his political hobbies in other parts of the world are also fairly low.

But it’s nice to see Waters is backing Argentina’s nationalistic quest to seize a bunch of land that other people live on because he hates the UK that much.

Maybe he should boycott it too. Or boycott himself.

First time I've read Daniel Greenfield. Been reading for hours. Definite push to hate Muslims, and support Israel, but what I don't get, is that there was a time "mostly" white Christian America, and "mostly" Christian Europe didn't have anything to do with the arguments, and skirmishes between Jews and Muslims. It was any of our business, and to be honest, is still isn't. The "mostly" Jewish media, and Jewish money in politics make us believe we need to, by pushing mass immigration into America, and into Europe. They are forcing their troubles to our doorsteps, so they can get the help of some of the biggest power this world has to offer on their side. I want my peaceful world back!! If Jews didn't have money (no offense- because I love the energy and zest of Jewish people), America and Europe would still be peaceful quiet countries. We need to get our banks and business back under mostly "Christian" control again, and close the doors for immigration, sending those that pose a threat, back to their homelands. It's that simple folks. :-(

Things like 911 happen because America keeps sticking her nose into places where it doesn't belong (often supporting Jewish interest). Then of course we anger the Muslims, and they attack! We need to stay out of everybody's business, except what is truly our own. That was what our founding fathers wanted. A safe haven for people to live in. Middle Eastern troubles won't come to us, if we don't go to them. That's all they want, is for us to stay out of it. We have to stop putting the interest of other groups ahead of our own peace. We can protect ourselves, and we help those who are running away from dangerous countries. That doesn't mean they should expect us to go fight their battles for them once they get rich and powerful here. It's just not right.

The unprincipled dogma of leftism, as well as its attendant dangers –

But for his efforts, may he feel the back end of some "Judeophobia" –… …as its principles are applicable inmany different arenas..I'm just putting it out there…

Even more proof, not really needed, that left wing 'entertainers' are complete and absolute utter morons. Will be letting the moron know, that I will be supporting Israel, and boycotting his ignorant drivel, in any form he offers it.

"Maybe he should boycott it too. Or boycott himself."

Well, he's already halfway there…. He's boycotting any functioning braincells he may still have…..

    • Softly Bob

Not many of those braincells left either.
Sex and drugs and rock n' roll , and more drugs, and yet more drugs. That's why there are so many aging rockers spouting Leftist causes. They destroyed most of their logical faculties in the 60s and 70s.

      • Questions

Comments like yours make conservatives look like fools and idiots. I can think of thousands of rockers (and not just Ted Nugent) who have nothing to do with "Leftism." Waters is a Leftie of a distinctly British kind, but that doesn't give us the right to smear all rockers.

Roger Waters is a lunatic and a totalitarian. Obviously, he doesn't care that Israel has the freest most democratic system in the Middle East. Arabs living in Israel have more rights and liberties as Israeli citizens than people living in other countries in the Middle East. Also, the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas in Spanish) belong to the United Kingdom. Residents of the Falkland Islands have repeatedly voted to remain a British territory and are proud to be British. Argentina has no right to claim a piece of land belonging to another country. Argentina's quest to forcefully conquer the Falklands is in many ways similar to the Latin American far-left's quest to force the island territory of Puerto Rico to secede from the United States in order to establish a far-left dictatorship in the island. Like the Falkland Islanders, the people of Puerto Rico have repeatedly voted to remain part of the United States, and in the recent plebiscite this past November, the people voted for Puerto Rico to become the next state of the Union. Instead of advocating boycotts of democratic countries that respect the rule of law, artists need to boycott real repressive regimes that violate human rights. There needs to be more boycotts of Syria, Cuba, China, North Korea, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Vietnam, Belarus and other countries with despotic regimes.

It makes "The Wall" movie make more sense, with all its Nazi like visuals. Clearly even back when Waters was relevant he was a a closeted Nazi.

    • Questions

He's a Anarcho-Communist, not a Nazi. Chomsky, not Hitler, is Waters' model.

Many are still obsessed with Jewish hatred:

Everyone knows those millions of dead Jews were just faking it.
Holocaust Remembrance Day, which was held yesterday, is observed as Israel’s day of commemoration for the approximately six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust as a result of the actions carried out by Nazi Germany and its collaborators, and for Jewish resistance in that period. In Israel, it is a national memorial day.

After nearly 70 years since the liberation of the concentrations camps, there are still peoples and even entire communities that deny the Holocaust ever happened.

“The so-called Holocaust, is an alleged and invented story with no basis. The invention of these grand illusions of an alleged crime that never occurred, clearly reveals the racist Zionist face, which believes in the superiority of the Jewish race over the rest of the nations.”

Who is Roger Waters? Never heard of the guy…..Another curious burn out.

    • Arnold Layne

George Roger Waters (b. 1944) is one of the founders of Pink Floyd and its former bassist. From 1973-1984, he was the sole lyricist, as well as dominant songwriter and one of the lead vocalists. His father was killed in the Anzio campaign in 1944 and his mother was a member of the Communist Party. While certainly no stranger to drugs, the self-destruction of his friend, Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett (who named Pink Floyd and was its lead songwriter from 1966-1968), via LSD overuse, kept Waters out of the usual drug trappings. He has been, on more than one occasion, been called "champagne socialist" and "cavier communist".
