Rubio to Conservatives: “Border Security Before Legalization” / Rubio to Hispanics: “Legalization Before Border Security”

There are two Rubios. And maybe there are many Rubios. There can be a Rubio for everyone. Whatever your opinion, there is a Rubio out there for you. If you don’t like your Rubio, call 1-800-RUBIO and a new Rubio will be swiftly dispatched to your house in the hopes of meeting your Rubio needs and expectations.

In his own appearance on the Spanish-language Univision network, Mr. Rubio tried to assuage some Hispanics who fear that their legal status will be held hostage to border security. Mr. Rubio said illegal immigrants will get quick legal status and work permits regardless of whether the borders are secure — but won’t be given a full pathway to citizenship until more enforcement is imposed.

“Nobody is talking here about preventing legalization. Legalization will take place,” Mr. Rubio told Univision in an interview scheduled to air Sunday.

“First comes legalization, then comes this border security measure and then comes the permanent residency process. What we are talking about here is the permanent residency system,” Mr. Rubio said. “Regarding legalization, a vast majority of my colleagues have already accepted that: that it must take place and that it must start at the same time we start with what has to do with security. That is not conditional. Legalization is not conditional.”

As Drew at Ace points out, Rubio’s own website says “No undocumented immigrant is eligible to apply for temporary status until the border security and fencing plan is in place.”

So we’ve got a plan being sold in two different ways to two different groups. And those ways contradict each other. This is a problem in the age of the internet when these things can be collated and seen.

Rubio probably thinks this is a smart way of getting everyone on board while convincing them to meet in the middle. But that just means he has been swept up by the D.C. culture and has completely lost touch with anything but the ends and is no longer aware that the means he is using are clumsily dishonest.

Rubio tried to lock down the nomination. Instead the Democrats succeeded in destroying a promising Republican by exploiting his ambition.

    A MARC RUBIO FLIP FLOP
    Flashback – One Month
Rubio Says Citizenship 10 Years Out Under Immigration Plan
By Chris Strohm – Apr 14, 2013 6:37 AM PT

A series of “triggers” must be met before such foreigners can begin applying for their green cards under the plan, including tougher border security and the creation of a nationwide worker verification system. The government also must create an electronic system to verify if foreigners have overstayed their visas, Rubio said.

“For those who are undocumented in this country, not only will they have to wait 10 years — more than 10 years — but they will have to wait until all three of those things are fully implemented,” Rubio said. “If they’re not fully implemented, there will be no green cards awarded and we think that will be an incentive.”

The White House disagrees with senators on the need for triggers, Rubio said. The difference must be resolved before immigration reform legislation can be signed into law.

    ANOTHER MARC RUBIO FLIP FLOP

    Flashback – Four Years

    Marc Rubio – March, 2009
“I am strongly against amnesty. The most important thing we need to do is enforce our existing laws. We have existing immigration laws that are not being adequately enforced. Nothing will make it harder to enforce the existing laws, if you reward people who broke them. It demoralizes people who are going through the legal process, its a very clear signal of why go through the legal process, if you can accomplish the same thing if you go through the illegal process. And number two, if demoralizes the people enforcing the laws. I am not, and I will never support any effort to grant blanket legalization/amnesty to folks who have entered, stayed in this country illegally.”

    ANOTHER MARC RUBIO FLIP FLOP

Rubio: Legalization Will Come Before Border Security
    Jun 10, 2013

We’ve been told for months by Democrats and Republicans that before amnesty is granted to more
than 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States, the border will be secured. But over the weekend, Republican Senator Marco Rubio, who is part of the Gang of 8, told Univision legalization will be coming before border security.

Rubio, responding to the concern that legalization might be delayed and therefore be subjected to the policies of future administrations: Let’s be clear. Nobody is talking about preventing the legalization. The legalization is going to happen. That means the following will happen: First comes the
legalization. Then come the measures to secure the border. And then comes the process of permanent residence.

WILL THE REAL MARC RUBIO PLEASE STAND UP!!

  • CowboyUp

Rubio’s given me reason to doubt him several times this year, and I just don’t trust him anymore.

  • Pantano’s Law

Marco Rubio is a lying fraud. He got elected as a Tea Party conservative and has stabbed us in the back ever since. http://pantanolaw.com/

  • Gee

I have a truly radical idea. This one has never been done before and would actually work.

No new laws – let’s enforce the laws we already have. Like it is illegal to employ, house, allow to drive, attend school, etc. etc. and since they are here illegally – deport all of them.

I know it’s radical but it is the law

This guy is turning out to be the next Arafat. This is the problem with a bilingual nation. It would not be a problem if the media did their job and compared politicians statements to different language audiences but they aren’t.

  • Joe Guzzardi

When it suited him, Rubio campaigned on enforcement. Now he’s turned coat and has hooked up with open borders traitor Chuck Schumer.

On April 10, the day of La Gran Marcha, I was in Rubio’s DC office to
speak to two of his immigration aides. They assured me that Rubio had
promised them that without vigorous border enforcement in place, Rubio
would “walk away.” The phrase “walk away” was repeated several times.

Conclusion: Rubio lied to his staff and lied to Americans. Rubio is a liar.

Rubio can not be trusted !

Rubio is a traitor and should be treated as such!

What we need is completion of the rest of the 700 miles plus of double fencing that was signed into law in 2006. It worked well for the San Diego sector to the point were many attempts to enter into the US is being done via “panga” boats into Orange and LA counties. The message needs to be no entry into the US without immigration papers period. We tried it in 1986 and it did not work because the federal government failed to follow through on securing the southern border

When will the American people understand that the political class is simply a class of corrupt criminals who will say anything to be elected and once elected, do everything in their power to destroy this nation? Rubio is no exception.
