Scotland Jails Man for 10 Months for Putting Bacon on Mosque Doors

Freedom! No sorry. You’re thinking of a different Scotland.

The Chairman of the Edinburgh and Lothian Regional Equality Council, Foysol Choudhury MBE, is delighted that a 25-year-old Edinburgh man has been given a 10-month jail sentence for offending Muslims, and declared: “All religions are to be respected.”

Stilwel admitted breach of the peace. Speaking after sentencing, Choudhury said:

“I really welcome the sheriff’s decision to impose a jail sentence in this case. We live in what is always called a ‘multi-cultural society’ and I think we need to work together and prove that is true.”

“We need to respect everyone’s religion or culture, whatever it may be. Hopefully a sentence like this will act as a lesson to show people that all religions need to be respected.”

Sending someone to jail doesn’t teach respect. It intimidates. Which is what he really means.

The court heard that Islam prohibits its followers from consuming pork products made and that Stilwel’s actions “offended people at the mosque”.

Following the “attack”, Stilwel admitted to police officers that he was aware his behaviour could cause offence.

Sentence on Stilwel, an inmate at the city’s Saughton jail, had been deferred by Sheriff Liddle to obtain reports about the offender’s character.  He told Stilwel that a prison sentence was “inevitable”.

At an earlier hearing, the court heard from depute procurator fiscal Ian Wallace who said police were called to the mosque following the attack.

He told the court that police later traced Stilwel and arrested him.

Fortunately there was no other crime in Scotland, so police could safely hunt the bacon bandit.

Meanwhile we learn that Salah al Bandar, the former Liberal Democrat councillor who was one of several Islamists who issued death threats against Muslim apostate Nahla Mahmoud, has been cleared of any wrong-doing by his party.

Well bacon is much more serious than death threats.
