UN Peacekeepers Flee Syria, Seek Sancturary in Israel

This is yet another demonstration that

1. UN Peacekeepers are useless in the case of actual fighting

2. The UN may hate Israel, but it’s the one place where its helmeted boys in blue can feel safe.

Eight U.N. peacekeepers stationed on the Golan Heights crossed into Israel late Thursday night with the help of Israeli troops, seeking to escape the ongoing exchange of fire between Syrian regime forces and rebels near the Syrian village of Jamlah.

The Israel Defense Forces Spokesperson’s Unit confirmed on Friday that the eight peacekeepers crossed into Israel, reportedly after receiving permission by their commanders to abandon their posts. The peacekeepers were met at the border gate by soldiers from the Golani infantry brigade, and after a short check were allowed to enter the country.

On Wednesday, 21 Filipino peacekeepers were abducted just a mile from the Israeli border in an area where the U.N. force has patrolled a cease-fire line without incident for nearly four decades. A rebel group known as the Martyrs of the Yarmouk Brigades assumed responsibility for the kidnapping. As of Friday afternoon (Israel time) all 21 were still being held hostage.

It’s not clear which country the peacekeepers belonged to, but it’s rather clear that when the United Nations can’t even protect its own peacekeepers, it certainly can’t keep the peace.

And the United Nations might want to take a good look at a map of the region post-Islamization and considering how many countries its personnel can feel safe in.

Ah yes! The U.N. who routinely denounces Israel for barbarism runs to them for safety when the murdering koranimals maul their pathetic butts. LMAO.

and they run to the IDF to send troops to the Sudan to stop the Muslims from killing all the Christians

    • lcrurik

Intern them and hold them for a ransom paid by the UN.

Oh me, oh my…the useless, toothless "peacekeepers", many of whom abhor democratic Israel, yet still flee into her arms when the crap hits the fan.
Now, if I had my druthers, they would have been given the finger. Regardless, the UN will still do what they do best – protect tyrants, all the while they spit on Israel – http://adinakutnicki.com/2013/02/04/richard-falks

The same UN which describes Zionism as "racism", and gives Falk (and too many others) venomous perches.

the Israeli govt would be veryvery foooolish to allow the blue helmet gang any sanctuary. Demand that all weapons and hardware be donated to Israel and they must then walk barefoot to Eilat while singing " havey nagilah".

Then kick their butts into the Sinai and let the tneder muslims have their way with them. And they shall.

"the Israeli govt would be veryvery foooolish to allow the blue helmet gang any sanctuary."

They're that foolish indeed. Our leaders are stupid and cowardly, and humanitarian to a fault, not daring to switch off Israel's power supply to Gaza even during a state of official warfare as in Operation Pillar of Cloud. The surprise will be if they refuse sanctuary to the U.N. agents.

Israel has ceded control of the Golan Heights to the UN? Really? After two wars fought over it? After how many Syrian artillery shells rained down from it on Northern Israel?

    • Daniel Greenfield

Israel hasn't ceded it, but there are UN peacekeeping forces there

      • defcon 4

And the UN kept the peace so well in Lebanon. From the Green Line down to the way the UN stopped all those Katuyshas from being fired into Northern Israel. I just hope the UN scumbags are on Syrian territory and not Israeli territory. I also hope the UN scumbags were disarmed when they fled to Israel for sanctuary. Have a good weekend Daniel and thank you for all your articles and brutal honesty in an ugly world gone mad.

To paraphrase an old saying, "When the going gets tough, the U.N. says it's outa here." Those conspiracy theorists who keep warning us about the U.N.'s "black helicopters" really should reassess the danger U.N. forces pose to anyone. They'd turn tail from a kid who threatened them with a Red Ryder BB gun.

Israel will probably give these UN dunces red carpet treatment, in a five star hotel, and never get thanked for it, or reimbursed.

"2. The UN may hate Israel, but it’s the one place where its helmeted boys in blue can feel safe."

Another excellent illustration of just how corrupt they are as opposed to merely deceived. They know the truth but lie constantly.
