Vienna School Bans Teaching About Gates of Vienna to Avoid Offending Muslims

Türkei-Flagge-Fahne

One day, if this goes on, schools will no longer be allowed to teach about September 11, just as many European schools are not allowed to teach about the Holocaust, to avoid offending Muslims.

Between the blasphemy/incitement laws and the voluntary censorship, a bubble of historical ignorance is being created and maintained in the hopes that this will prevent acts of Muslim terror and avoid exposing the failure of Muslim integration into multiculturalism.

Out of consideration for immigrants of Turkish background teachers in a Vienna elementary school have been advised to no longer cover the topic in their teaching. Whoever does not comply is threatened with being transferred, reports the newspaper Krone. After all the Turks could feel insulted when they are reminded of their defeats. The Turkish wars are of major significance for Austrian history, however. Vienna alone twice faced major Turkish sieges – and beat back the attackers both times. Parents are angry about the initiative of the Vienna headmasters; even the Krone speaks of a “falsification of history”.

While the story is current, it would appear that similar incidents took place in 2009 and 2012 in Austria. Unfortunately Austria does have an extended history of pandering to Muslim terrorists and Islamists with entirely predictable results. And the Greens appear to be going wild.

It is universal that Muslims are not to be offended but Muslims can.offend Jews and Christians.

There is a growing backlash against this bloody nonsense, My Hapsburg relatives have been raising holy hell with the govt about it. That is why there has been a growing interest in bringing back the Hapsburg Monarchy, and I hope they do, for they will remind everyone of their history, good and bad.

Most Austrians loathe the Turkish colonizers living in their country but they have about as much control over their government schools and social policies as Americans do over here.

It is tragic that we could not have fortified the Gates of Vienna long ago. Will any gates hold back this evil from destroying our sanity and liberty? I pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.

LOL – my young friend – 10 years – with Turkish parents knows it all – he is interested in the issue – he lives close to where the Turkish command was (7th district) – and he has no fear to talk about itr

Eurabia is here and that is that, and Bat Ye'or predicted it, as did the late Oriana Fallaci. That being said, it is beyond dispute that due to Islamic appeasement all manner of barbarism continues apace. Therefore, a swift volte face must ensure, otherwise the west is TOTALLY gone, most essentially America – http://adinakutnicki.com/2012/09/09/shariah-law-e

America history is already being bowdlerized in public schools. In fact, it isn't even called "history," but "social sciences," a Marxist term for the study of the evolution of society by way of class struggles and economic exploitation, and so on. I mean, doesn't everyone know now that the America Revolution was merely the revolt of the landowning and merchant classes against monarchical oppression? It had nothing to do with throwing off the chains of tyranny. That was just class propaganda. But, this is the kind of bilge that's being fed America public school kids today.

While you're on the subject, what in the hell does Jefferson and Washington being slave owners have to do with the legitimacy of their assertion that all men are created equal?

Ohmigod, they acted hypocritically. Whatever shall we do about the Constitution?

Who gives a rat's behind what these pedophile followers "think"?

I would NEVER hire a muslim. I would NEVER patronize a muslim business, nor do I knowingly do business with anybody that does hire muslims. Sometimes muslims will run you over, hack you to death and cut off your head. Sometimes muslims will fly planes into buildings. ALWAYS muslims will claim victim status and DEMAND that you change your ways. muslims are gutter cultists. The inventor of islam, the false prophet mohamat, was a pedophile. We don't hire pedophile lovers and emulators.

I do believe that Islam is utterly incompatible with Western culture and should be controlled if not eliminated, but let's not forget that there is more than one white person whose crimes would be indistinguishable from the ones you list. Once the Muslims have gone – if that's possible – we need to deal with our own as well.

      • pagegl

When we have to deal with our own, we aren't admonished for offending someone's religious sensibilities. Point out a Muslim has done something wrong and you're an Islamophobe.

    But my dear Adina…..

hardly any American has or knows of Bat Y`or ….or Oriana falaci much less have read either one……Angelo

While that's probably true I hope your comment isn't based on the belief that all Europeans are incredibly well read or informed? I just looked at Amazon UK's top 100 sellers and there was only one book about contemporary politics or history which is Margaret Thatcher's biography. And only a couple of others that I would classify as "serious" books; the rest of the list is dominated by diet or cook books, self help, George RR Martin, and novels of questionable worth. I didn't compare the US top 100 but I would gladly bet that its at least as good if not better. The interesting thing is that since 9/11 a very large number of Americans have sought out materials on the Islamic world and have educated themselves to a high degree. This is in response to a real-world need and if things speed up many more will do the same.

Politician's world wide only know one way in dealing with threats: Capitulate.

  • Deerknocker

Here's the deal Muslims. You stop killing innocent Christians and Jews, and we'll stop talking about the Gates of Vienna. Until then, take your constant outrage and shove it. And Europeans, you had better get the spirit of your ancestors and muster up some serious push back. Islam is a virulent disease of the human spirit. You can't just ride it out. You have to fight it.

    • Deep Space

      Agree.

Help me out here: what is the topic "The Gates of Vienna?" Is that the Battle of Vienna in 1683 that it refers to? Why would modern-day Turks be offended by the teaching of that topic? It was the Ottoman Empire and it was 400 years ago. Turkey has expressly repudiated the Ottoman Empire.

I mean right now, today, the Turkish people are rioting in the streets against Erdogan's overly strict application of Muslim standards about, of all things, alcohol (among other things, no doubt), so it's not as if they're all sharia'd and ummah'd up.

Seems as if the Turks might be more sensible and less subject to taking offense than Austrians think.

And no more teaching about the Battle of the Little Big Horn. Non-Sioux and non-Cheyenne people might be offended.

    • pagegl

It doesn't matter when it happened; the Turks are still in denial about the Armenian genocide.

      • tagalog

What does the Armenian genocide have to do with the Battle of Vienna?

  • DDay66

This is old news, Daniel. When was the last time one of your kids brought home a history assignment about the Barbary Wars?

  • Moliminous

If the truth offends, then don't live that truth. Offend Muslims? Muslims are an affront to God and an offense to the human race. We are all offended by their presence. They teach evil, they are evil. This cult of death hides behind a shadowy curtain of religious respectability. This is no more a "religion" than is the Ku Klux Klan.

Fear needs to be countered with force… now.

  • ut8t5

This would be like America or Britain not teaching about world war 2 because it might offend NAZIS

Deport the Turks who complain and who cares what they think. Maybe their bloodthirsty ancestors should not have tried to conquer their neighbors if they were so concerned about their place in history…

Ah, I see it’s too late for Austria. It ay have beaten off the kebabs twice in war, but “multiculturalism” has been it’s defeat, ad the invasion forces move in under the guise of the EU’s open border policy.

Like Rome, we have been betrayed by our own, the liberal peace freaks and intelligentsia in universities. And politicians, whose interests are strictly getting votes, illegal or not.

So like Rome it is time for our Caesars and purge our Senates and even the mob we have come to feed, clothe, house and support – why?
