Weekly Jobless Claims Now Up to 371,000

The recovery is going great and if the economy keeps recovering any longer, we’re going to have to get it a sickbed, some Tylenol and a private nurse.

The number of people filing for first-time unemployment benefits in the week ending Saturday rose to 371,000 from a revised 367,000 the previous week, the Labor Department said Thursday. It was the fourth straight weekly increase.

The rise surprised analysts, who had expected jobless claims to drop to about 365,000. The less-volatile four-week average increased to 365,750 from 359,000 the previous week.

The analysts just keep on getting surprised, don’t they?

The idiot-in-chief have made apologies for everything and every dumb reason imaginable, but to get our nation back to work again. He's bowed to kings and queens, but not to the American people. IMO, I believe he's going to keep his Cloward/Piven boot on America's neck until everyone here are on food stamps, and government cell phones to bow to him. /Sarkmark

It's a pretty small increase, all things considered. Anything in the 350,000-400,000 ballpark is considered normal for weekly first-time unemployment insurance claims. The real scandal under Obama is the explosion of food stamp usage by people (especially blacks and Hispanics) who crave a free lunch.
