Who’s Ready for an 80s Amnesty Flashback? Enforcement! Comprehensive! Legalization!

Bonuses include a young Leon Panetta debuting his hairpiece and Charles Schumer debuting his lack of same; along with the recognition that the scam never changes. Not even the scammers change much.

It’s 1986 and there are a whole lot of Democratic Congressmen assuring us that amnesty for illegal aliens will help the economy, secure the border and make your teeth shinier than ever.

If we don’t pass illegal alien amnesty, millions of people in our towns and cities will be living in limbo, a sweaty Chuck Schumer rasps. Fortunately that problem was solved once and for all with the 1986 comprehensive immigration reform making such future pieces of legislation entirely unnecessary.

“It is not millions of people cascading across the border,” he assures us, “it might mean only 250,000 people cascading across the border. It is not welfare benefits for those folks immediately.”

And then it all ended happily ever after with millions of new illegal aliens living in limbo and a huge drain of social services.

And now we’re back fighting the battle of Comprehensive Immigration Reform against the Democrats and Republicans who put their cynical political gambits over the jobs and tax burdens of ordinary Americans.

Those who fail to learn from history repeat it again and again. But there’s only so many times we can repeat amnesty, before there is no border left and no country left.

There is no will inside the Beltway to enforce the sovereignty of the country. Neither party. Hasn't been for 20 years or so. If you don't care about sovereignty, you therefore don't care to enforce borders nor immigration laws and you also believe that there is no such things as an Americaan; that anyone from around the world can become an American by getting here by hook or crook and "working hard". All utopian nonsense that denies history, culture, tradition, etc.

Only the "great unwashed" in "flyover country" care about the sovereignty of the country.

FG All of the elected un-American a** holes in Washington.

The 80's amnesty was suppose to be a one time deal. Proves how politicians can't bring themselves to uphold the laws on the books, tell more lies, and than cook up another deal to shamefully appease criminal human trafficking enterprises. All of Washington is dire need of a complete Black Flagging. Clean the whole rotten mess out to the last man and woman…they're ALL worthless crap.

It would be nice to send them to where all of the illegals came from. On thinking of how
many terrorists have crossed our borders and set up cells for a day we will regret seeing,
I take and angry attitude toward the present criminal government that is giving visas to
Islamists who will stay past thier expiration to do us harm. They will get on welfare and use
our tax dollars to get around and make plans to destroy us, thanking Obama and Co. for
      the help……………………William

    Great article.

The reason our politicians continue to import aliens despite the harm to society and the public opposition (80-90% against) is because there are no NATIONAL REFERENDA in the United States. Many other countries, including 3rd world countries, have it, but not the US! It is a shame that US, which claims to be a "world-class" advanced nation, is a mere pseudodemocracy. It is tragic that our constitution lacks the most basic and elementary human right–national referenda

The three branches have become corrupt, usurped power, and all three branches figured out that it is better to conspire, mug and terrorize the nation and totally ignore the owners, the US Citizens. So they keep destroying this country with impunity.

But there is a solution to this govt's war on the nation. It is a constitutional amendment to allow irreversible binding superseding national referenda, so people can pass good laws in the national interest themselves. These laws will supersede laws passed by Congress and cannot be overturned except on constitutional grounds by a supermajority of both houses and a unanimous vote of the Supreme Court. The people can then still override it with a 66% vote. Some believe that this right to amend the constitution is inherently vested in the American public (the US citizens). Others suggest an actual amendment. A survey showed that 76% of the public approved the idea.

We can pass a national referendum that all laws that affect the nation as a whole, such as raising taxes, large welfare programs, foreign aid, immigration, bailouts, and raising the debt ceilings, etc. can become law only if finally approved by the people. We will solve 90% of our problems this way.

    For eg., see:
    http://ni4d.us/index.htm http://www.iandrinstitute.org/National%20I&R….

The National Initiative For Democracy above (ni4d) is in the process of making a documentary about national referenda to bring this issue to a wider audience.

We Americans need to visit these websites, join these groups, contribute and call radio talk shows, etc. and promote this idea and get the process started soon, before it is too late or America, as we know it, will be finished.
