Why Obama’s Iran Nuke Deal Is a Good Thing

dealObama was never going to stop Iran from going nuclear, but his promises gave people who should have known better, including American Jewish leaders and the Prime Minister of Israel, the idea that he would stand firm.

“Iran’s leaders should understand that I do not have a policy of containment; I have a policy to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon,” Obama said last year. “Rest assured that the Iranian government will know our resolve and that our coordination with Israel will continue.”

Instead Obama reached a secret deal to relax Iran sanctions and accept an Iranian nuclear program while cutting Israel out of the loop.

Despite the anger and outrage, this isn’t the worst case scenario. The worst case scenario would have been if Obama had kept stringing everyone along, adding a little bit of sanctions here and there, while quietly eliminating them under the table, and playing for time until Iran actually detonated a nuke.

Now Obama has made it clear that he will do nothing to stop Iran from going nuclear.

Israel and Saudi Arabia have both issued statements making it clear that they will not accept an Iranian bomb. And unlike Obama, they actually mean it. What they will do about it is another question, but now they, and everyone on the firing line, knows that Obama will do nothing and that sets them free to act.

Iran is in the North Korean cycle of nuclear development, useless sanctions, pointed threats and worthless deals. If the cycle continues, Iran will detonate a nuclear weapon and then it will pass nuclear technology into the hands of terrorists. And the next step is the mass murder of millions.

This trickledown effect was why China should not have been allowed to go nuclear, why North Korea should not have been allowed to go nuclear and why Pakistan should not have been allowed to go nuclear. The process that began with the Atom Bomb spies helping the USSR go nuclear has kept moving forward allowing smaller and more erratic players to be able to kill millions with the push of a button.

Iran may launch a nuclear missile or it may turn over weapons to terrorists who will do the dirty work while it plays innocent. And once a terrorist group goes nuclear; it will be able to choose its own targets.

Despite Iran’s religious war, it has a history of trying to work with Sunni terrorist groups; including Hamas and Al Qaeda. Saudi Arabia has made it clear that it will go nuclear if Iran does. And Saudi Arabia is to Sunni Islamic terrorists what Iran is to Shiite Islamic terrorists.

Unless Iran is stopped; it’s only a matter of time until an Islamic terrorist group goes nuclear.

All this could have been averted long ago, but administration after administration chose to do nothing, or their efforts were aggressively sabotaged by their own diplomats and intelligence agents.

Bill Clinton could have used the breathing room after the collapse of the Soviet Union to stop nuclear proliferation at the source in North Korea. Instead he let the worst mass murderer in the world play him for a fool while he launched a bombing campaign against Yugoslavian trains, water towers and the Chinese embassy on phony charges of genocide.

If an American city vanishes in nuclear fire in the next decade; the blame will belong to Clinton most of all. Obama is only a coward who blusters and threatens Americans, but who bows before every foreign tyrant. No one would have expected him to do anything except cut a deal that would score him a few points during a domestic crisis and let a terrorist state keep its nukes.

The final death toll from ObamaCare may end up being in the millions if a future nuclear attack happens because Obama needed something to shore up poll numbers that were falling over an inability to make a website work.

But whatever the triggering mechanism for Obama’s bailout of the Iranian bomb, what matters is that the mask is off. Die-hard Democrats will still defend the deal, but it is clear that the only ones who can stop Iran from going nuclear are the major players in the region.

Chamberlain’s deal with Hitler signified that the UK was no longer willing or able to stop the Nazis. And despite its eventual declaration of war and the heroic efforts of its people; the United States ushered in the American world order by destroying the Nazi war machine and liberating Western Europe.

Chamberlain’s “Peace in Our Time” recognized a Post-British world order. Obama’s Iran deal recognizes a Post-American world order.

The Middle East is in chaos because American power has vanished. The P5+1 agreement is a statement that Western nations are unwilling and unable to do anything about Iran’s nuclear ambitions except save face.

And that they expect their allies to live with that.

The P5+1 agreement takes Western power off the table. And while that’s a very bad thing; it also ends the illusion that some international power or combination of powers would stop Iran.

In this Post-American world that Obama has made there was never any possibility that the answer to Tehran’s genocidal ambitions would come from Washington.

There is an old Chassidic story about an infertile woman who goes to a Rabbi to ask for a blessing. The Rabbi agrees to pray for her if she donates 1,000 rubles. The woman replies that if she and her husband scrape together everything they own, they might be able to come up with 100 rubles.

The Rabbi refuses. The woman tells him that if they sell everything, they might have 300 rubles. Still he relentlessly demands 1,000 rubles. After begging and pleading for an hour; she despairs and shouts that she doesn’t need his prayers and will pray for a child on her own.

“Aha,” the Rabbi tells her. “That was what I wanted to hear. Your prayers are the ones that matter.”

Israel has gotten into the bad habit of acting as if the United States had all the answers. If it had gone on waiting for Obama to do the right thing, millions might have died. Now it knows that there is no Rabbi in Washington to turn to for answers. If it is to have a prayer, it must act on its own.

In a Post-American world; Israel stands alone. It will live or die based on what it does next.

Why blame everything on Clinton? Talk about Clinton Derangement Syndrome, I couldn’t stand him, but blaming it all on him, that’s absurd. And how could the US have stopped China and the USSR from going nuclear? What about that boob Bush Jr, under his watch the CIA and other US military intelligence trumpeted that Iran had ceased and abandoned its nuclear bomb program, back in late 2007. Bush Jr went along with this lie. Now that’s all forgotten. Why doesn’t Greenfield mention this? Your blind partisanship is showing, both Republicans and Democrats have failed abysmally.

Agreed though that Israel cannot be under any illusions now, and that’s for the best. The thing is why was Israel under such a deadly illusion here in the first place? How naive to ever trust a president whose anti-Semitism is obvious and who demonstrates no real character on anything. America has a long history of stabbing Israel in the back, all in the name of friendship. Bibi and Israelis in general just close their eyes. American policy has always or almost always imperiled Israel, just like Europe. To ever have believed that the US would stand firm with Israel against Iran is disturbing in the extreme.

Americans have always been considered naive, but Jewish naivite which is just as bad, can pave the way for another Holocaust.

    • Hass

Somehow I don’t think the Jews will ever let history repeat itself, and most certainly will not wait around for another Holocaust.

    • wildjew

North Korea tested its first nuclear weapon, October 9, 2006. That, like the 9/11/2001 atrocities was on George W. Bush’s watch. To his credit (unlike Barack Obama) Bush did not blame his predecessor. I voted for Bush in 2000. I did not repeat the mistake in 2004. Speaking of Iran, let us not forget Bush’s Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen who no doubt spoke for President Bush:

‘Admiral Mike Mullen, the chairman of the US joint chiefs of staff, has warned that an Israeli strike on Iran could prove “extremely stressful” for his forces.

Opening up a third front right now would be extremely stressful on us. That doesn’t mean we don’t have capacity or reserve but that would really be very challenging, and also the consequences of that are sometimes very difficult to predict.

He said an Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear facilities would be a high-risk move that could destabilise the whole of the Middle East….(The Guardian, July 2008)

Who thought President Bush (much less Barack Obama) would do anything about the Iranian nuclear threat?

      • m4253y

“I voted for Bush in 2000. I did not repeat the mistake in 2004″

        REALLY!!!!

YOU ARE THE VERY REASON ISRAEL NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND ONCE AND FOR ALL THAT IT MUST ACT ON ITS OWN BEHALF ALWAYS. TO WAIT FOR TRAITORS LIKE YOU TO DECIDE WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT WHILE YOU ARE EATING YOUR FUCKING KNISHES IS SUICIDAL. PUKE!

        • wildjew

I never expected the U.S. to bomb Iran’s nascent nuclear sites. Most Americans it seems are unconcerned any threat a nuclear Iran might pose to the U.S. How about you?

          • m4253y

Israel needs to man up and openly spit in iran’s face just before annihilating them.

the time to act is now. period!

          • Drakken

            Agreed!

          • Wolfthatknowsall

Most Americans, yes. All Americans, no.

Americans like me are completely aware of the threat that Iran poses to peace, not just in the Middle East, but throughout the world.

      • defcon 4

What? Is the MIddle East stable now? Maybe someone should tell that lie to the Baha’i, Zoroastrians, Jews and Christians being murdered, persecuted and raped by muslimes all across the Mid-East and N. Africa.

      • Drakken

What are problem is, is that we are too afraid to bring the total war concept back to policy as we should. I could care less how many millions the muslims lose as long our losses are considerably less. Always remember, love us and ours, eff them and theirs.

    • m4253y

sadly, i must agree with your entire premise, Jewish naivete.

as I said, Israel, as history has shown, spends more time looking for justice rather than exacting it. Daniel is correct in that the Emperor has revealed that there is no clothes. BUT, does Israel see it? This is the question.

      • Drakken

Funny how the Jews never quite believe it when folks tell them that they are going to kill them. Suicidal tendencies seem to run amok with these folks. In God you trust, every effing muslim is suspect period.

    • Daniel Greenfield

The lie was pushed by the same people running the country now. Bush didn’t buck it all the way, but he was in deep water already.

      • will2012012

Bush W was a front man, just as Obama was thought to be (by those who selected him). Bush W went along with all he was told, starting with pushing HAMAS into power over Gaza in 2005. And the grand bargain with Iran was reached under HIS watch: bomb for easy retreat from Iraq. As evidenced by the fake 2007 NIE report and 2007 Hamilton/Baker Iraq Study Group report. This is a bipartisan policy, just like siding with Al-Qaeda in the Balkans was and still is, a bipartisan policy.

        • will2012012

If it backfires, the USA/CIA will cry out, “it’s not us, it’s that Muslim agent Obama who’s responsible”. And if it plays out in “their interests” then who cares who takes the credit, as long as profits are THEIRS.

Almost makes it too easy to cheat in elections. Which is why Obama got 102% of the vote in some districts.

  • elisheva14

There’s has never been a better time for a take on “The enemy of my enemy is my friend”.

      • Drakken

        Amen!

You are certainly mistaken. Israel never has stood alone, not one country not one foreign soldier fought on the side of Israel, not even the U.S., but it was never alone in fighting its enemies, God was, is and always will be by its side. How else would anyone explain its survival, despite all odds, other than divine intervention

    • wildjew

Let hope; let us assume Mr. Greenfield understands God is and always will be on Israel’s side and will fight for Israel.

Num 23:9 “As I see him from the top of the rocks,
      And I look at him from the hills;
Behold, a people who dwells apart,
And will not be reckoned among the nations.

The only thing that will stop Iran is military might. Israel (this prime minister) will / must act preemptively. If not, we will wake to the news one day that Iran has tested its first nuclear weapon. Americans will rue the day (one day) they elected and then re-elected this Muslim-born president.

      • m4253y

now you have balls to stand for Israel? what happened to your bullshit remarks above?

        • wildjew

I don’t have time for degenerates like you and your president.

    • teq

The prophets warned that God would protect Israel only if she depended completely upon Him and not on foreign alliances. The kings didn’t listen and when Nebuchadnezzer came, God was not not there.
Has Israel again disobeyed God by depending on her foreign alliance with the US and not on Him?
Remember, God’s love for Israel is unconditional, but her possession of the land depends on her being faithful to Him and not trusting in foreign alliances. “Whoring after other gods” as the prophets termed it.

    • Judahlevi

G-d may be on Israel’s side, but they will need to use all of their resources to attack Iran. With a competent US president, the US would support them. With this president, they should do their planning relying on the most likely outcome – that Obama will stab them in the back.

It is extremely unfortunate that at this critical period of time we have this politically correct president. This juncture of history was not the time to try to convince the world we could elect a president based on his skin color (which should never have been done in the first place). Executive experience – none. Military experience – none. Leadership experience – none (other than a political campaign).

The US asked for this – and they got it. In 2016 it will be the politically correct woman they want. Such an infantile society.

      • Texas Patriot

Everything you say about the state of leadership in the United States is true. But what about the state of leadership in Israel? Is it any better. Take a look at Arf’s most recent comments. Do you agree with his assessment?

        • Judahlevi

No, I don’t agree his assessment.
Netanyahu is a far more wise and experienced leader than Obama. There is no contest. He does very well with limited resources.
Israeli’s don’t play politically correct games with their leadership – there is too much at stake. They almost always back Republican candidates for president in the US over Democrats. They live in the real world, not the protected environment which many US Jews live in – who tend to be Democrats because of it.
Israeli’s don’t believe in Utopia, they just want to live in peace. Peace comes from strength.

          • Texas Patriot

            Thank you.

          • Arf

You live in a dreamworld, Judahlevi and that is what eventually will kill you. Israeli leaders FROM THE BEGINNING have sacrificed their people for profit and politics. They will do it again. And again. Just as the Arabs do to their people. Just as the Europeans do to their people and the Americans do to their people and on and on and on. Israelis absolutely bow to political correctness and unfortunately many, many more will die because of it.

          • ziggy zoggy

            We’ll see.

      • defcon 4

The current occupant of the W.H. isn’t politically correct, he’s corrupt and evil.

    • Lanna

Thats right….Israel will never stand alone, she is the apple of God’s eye, no matter what happens, there will always be a remnant of the Jewish people saved, as well as the Holy City of Jerusalem, The City of David, where the Lord, Yaweh, Hashem put his holy name, as his chosen city.

    • Molta

That is so true! God will always be on Israel’s side, no matter what any other country does. God loves Israel!

  • tuva

    yeah, israel stands alone:
    with billions of dollars worth of first rate American military aid;
    with American diplomacy to cover Israel’s ass at every turn;
with AIPAC paid american politicians at both houses.

Sht, how lonely is it to be Israel. How proud should they be!! ha ha ha h

  • vladimirval

Another Day that Will Live in Infamy

At the behest of BHO’s political ambitions, John Kerry
has agreed to deal that has put the Middle East and eventually the whole world, in a precarious situation. Saudi Arabia has already purchased nuclear capability to protect itself from Iranian ambitions of world dominance and eventual world control. This deal made by the “five plus one”will give Iran access to over 6 billion dollars held in western banks and more than 3 billion dollars in oil revenue. That means that the biggest funder of Islamic terrorism will have over $10 billion dollars to continue its war on western civilization.
They do not have to stop uranium enrichment. They have promised to not enrich over 5% and allow western inspection of certain facilities for the next six months. That’s it, just promises. The Iran regime has made
and broken promises for years. As a matter of fact the current president of Iran admitted that for the two years they said they had stopped uranium enrichment, they in fact had accelerated enrichment. They wouldn’t lie to John and BHO, would they? Why not?! They are convinced that the American
administration does not have the will and courage to do anything if Iran does
not keep its word, which I am convinced they will break.

There are other countries that will also have an
immediate benefit from this international surrender. China, Russia, and North Korea will get some of the $10 billon dollars as they are chomping at their bitts to sell military hardware to Iran. Several European countries are also waiting to trade arms and other goods for Iranian oil. That is the reason why France finally agreed to this settlement. The Czech Republic already has a deal going with Iran for military vehicles. Why not, the US won’t buy them.

The stage is set for a regional war. The two countries at most immediate risk are Israel and Saudi Arabia. Israel and Saudi Arabia are scared and angry over the Iran deal. Saudi Arabia has given Israel air space clearance
for any Israeli strike on Iran. Russia and China will stand with Iran. It is not certain to what extent but they will definitely want to protect theur goods shipped to Iran. We can also expect Russian and Chinese “advisors”
to be present in Iran. What red line will Obama set up? What is the
    difference, Obama’s threats mean nothing.

Just before Germany’s move towards world domination, the British government made a deal and declared “peace in our time”. John did the same thing in this
instance. A horrific world war ensued shortly thereafter. Is the world in store for another world war? The sooner aggression is confronted the better a chance of avoiding a major conflict. Israel has destroyed nuclear facilities and
put a stop to the proliferation of nuclear threats. The longer a pot is allowed to boil the harder it gets to keep the lid on it. These are precarious times, more dangerous than the two World Wars and the standoff with the Soviet Union. In those cases both sides wanted to stay live. The enemy we face now looks forward to world annihilation. As far as they are concerned, a wonderful
paradise awaits them with their demise. It is imperative the people rise up, express disgust, and make sure that congress refutes this terribly bad deal.

  • m4253y

“Israel has gotten into the bad habit of acting as if the United States had all the answers.”

No. With all due respect Daniel, Israel as any addict overly relied on its pusher for product. The day of reckoning for Israel will only come when it acts on its own behalf for the betterment and survival of its people. For too long as history has shown, Israel spends more time looking for justice rather than exacting it.

Independence from all, this is its destiny. To sit idly by and wait for a caliphate cloaked muslime resident of the white house to defend its sovereign boundaries is in and of itself lunacy and suicidal not to mention destined for disaster and finality..

The time for Israel is now and they have no choice but to act. Further delay and there will be no Israel within 3 years, 5 at most.

    • Bert

History has valuable lessons. In 1967 President Johnson, and frightened Jewish leaders, all opposed Israel’s going to war and favored doing nothing. Israel ignored the pressure and won its greatest victory without U.S. help. In 1973 Herr Kissinger threatened Israel against preemptive military action when Egypt and Syria were clearly preparing to attack. Israel obeyed and almost lost that war. Israel today must stand more on its own because listening to Obama could be fatal.

    • Drakken

Do you hear that sound? It is the sound of war drums and they are beating loud and clear for all to hear. Your timeline is off, it is less than 3 my friend, prepare for war, for that is what is coming. I almost pity the sand apes, for what is coming is going to be sung around a thousand campfires for a thousand years.

    • will2012012

there’s the problem of USA/CIA’s control over Israeli top brass. they thwarted the nomination of chief of general staff who was proponent of the strike against Iran, with massive well-coordinated campaign in the media through their agents, including the former chief of general staff their agent who opposed the strike. We don’t know how many are bought out wholesale, how many are intimidated, how many are controlled by direct threats. remember Sharon – he arrived at the hospital sitting, in the ambulance, with minor stroke. Compare the Baltic states in 1940 where as we now know, 75% of ministers in the gov’t were controlled by, if not direct agents of, the Soviets. They have Persian wall-to-wall carpets in Israeli general staff. Opulence corrupts. Their salaries has increased enormously in the last 20-25 years. The Israeli top has been corrupted, they chose “good life” when they closed the Lavi project in the end of 1980s under American “assurances”. The USA/CIA knew what they were doing. Cunning. Obama is just a front man, this started with W.’s second term – the fake AIPAC spy scandal; Condoleeza pushing Hamas into power in Gaza in 2005; then the opulent $100-cigars lawyer Olmert botching up the Lebanon war in August 2006 with his stock-trading chief of general staff, and then Hamilton/Baker report (early 2007) demanding “reasonable regional interests of Iran be respected”. And the anti-”Israel Lobby” book by Herrs Mearsheimer and Walt. And the NIE report (end of 2007) claiming Iran has no nuke program whatever. The USA/CIA just don’t have any more use for Israel since the USSR fell. That’s 1991. They just had uneasy public opinion at home to contend with, back then, to ditch Israel right away. That’s the origin of their rage against “powerful Israel Lobby”. Saudis are their big big creditor; provoking war against them too is an added bonus. Why do you think they tried to debase their currency so hard for the last 15 years? The stupid world just won’t stop buying their debt.

      • m4253y

all very excellent points, thank you. none of which i can disagree with either. i would add that these points only add to my conclusion that for Israel to survive, the time is now as it is clear the US is moving away from the Mideast as a protectorate.

  • Jerry G

All these discussions omit one essential fact. Israel already has nukes. The question is will Israel use its nukes before Iran strikes Israel or will it wait to be attacked before responding?

    • StanleyT

Israel has never used or even threatened to use its nukes against anyone (unlike Iran, which daily threatens “death to Israel” and “death to America”). Suffice it to say that Israel will do what it has to do, when it has to do it.

      • Jerry G

By Israel you mean Netanyahu. I hope he has the cojones to do what has to be done.

        • 7113

Netanyahu has cojones it’s the Kenyan in the White House that has no cojones, also the Kenyan dosen’t care in 3 1/2 years he will be in his hut in Kenya showing off the bone in his nose and his new spear shaped like a golf club.

  • Rosasolis

God helps those who help themselves. Why should our Western Civilization
ever trust Iran? If a president annouces the destruction of a neighbouring
country, why should we believe that his successor would be much different?
It would be nice to give this new leader ”the benefit of the doubt”, as a gesture
of friendship and trust. But during the last decade there was no friendship
and trust towards our Western Civilization, including America. There was
also no trust towards M. El Baradai, who headed the inspection team in Iran for
several years…without any success They kept everything secret. Now why should we expect that the
policy of Iran towards Israel and our entire Western Civilization should
suddenly change…from Black to Grey? If Israel should ever be attacked
by Iran, then Europe will be their next target, followed by North and
South America. Do you in America really intend to just sit back and watch
while your military leaders and defence system are being cut to the minimum,
while “negotiations” with rogue countries and terrorist groups
    in the Middle-east continue?

Please tell me how this is preventing Iran from having a Nuclear Weapon? From everything that I’ve read on the matter, it doesn’t. This is pure appeasement and nothing but. Chamberlain, tried to appease Hitler, and looker what happened. That appeasement culminated in WWII. Iran still intends to produce enrich uranium and has no plans to stop. Iran is still a state-sponsor of terrorism and doesn’t plan on re-allocating that funding. Iran’s still allocates the destruction of not only Israel but the US as well. With regards, to Israel, I hope Israel bombs the hell out of Iran, which might do, like it did Iraq, back in 1981. Obama, needs to be impeached for making this deal!!

When Kerry talks everyone pokes middle finger. make sure your finger is clean not dirty and you also got to make sure you do it right and you gotta make sure you do it … “Washington would defend its allies and would not undermine ties with Arab allies”.

✡Was Kerry bluffing as his boss Barrrack Hussein Obama? Oh yes indeed.

✡It’s a pity that Abdulla Bin Zayed ran outta options to believe that Kerry ain’t selling Heinz ketchup, KFC, McDonald, Pizza Hut and Tampon for emerging Iran.

✡If Abdulla Bin Zayed is betting on any a wrong horse then John Kerry is what he’s looking for now? He’s just buying time, wasting money.

    ✡It ain’t precedent but it’s a big screw-up right there.

✡Instead of fooling around tossing wildcards. Why don’t John Kerry pimp some mercenaries to kick the Iranian occupiers outta Emirates Trio Isles. He’s deranged.

✡Cloning Sisi coup in Iran is stooopid idea. Helll no! He’s must be kidding. Iran junta suffers manhood deficiency syndrome that’s how Mullah’s are calling the shots in Iran for years. Sanctions are too porous to hold Iran’s cash flow. Iran exchanges Iraq $4B petrodollar from Beirut every day. With this cash Iran can survive another light year.

✡Bombing Iran is 45 years old bluff alas Boooring XBOX played by Washington & Tel Aviv to extort Donuthole Jews and bleeding ‘em to death and smoke GCC Thugocracies for more money or else they will be democratized. So was Bibi The-Lipo.

✡Khamenei ain’t use the Toilet without his masters’ permission in Tel Aviv. Khamenei is Obama’s favorite lapdog third dearest to his [Portuguese-Water-Dogs] Bo & Sunny.

✡Ahmadinejad [an Azeri distant cousin of Avigdor Lieberman Nightclub bouncer and former Israeli Foreign Minister] fooled the whole world to drive DC religiously to arm Israel to teeth. Ahmadinejad is missed by Stateless Urban-Rejects that steal and settle in the Holy Land as we speak. He fooled Washington fools for decade. ‘Wiping Israel off the map’ was good one and the “Nuclear bomb” stunt that he pulled to get Netanyahu elected twice.

✡Don’t you ever forget that Iran was the first country in the world recognized State of Israel before USA & UK 66 years ago? Recall that amidst mutual threats in 1980’s, Israel quietly sold Iran $5 Billion of US Arms. That’s why Iran gets the lion share of News Coverage on world headlines controlled by Zionists.

✡He ordered Iraqi Shiite to ship to Israel hundreds of billions of dollars worth of arms, weapons & equipment residues UHAULED from 88 US closed Bases in Iraq for free to Israel. Thanks to Ahmadinejad. He’s been good ally to Israel.

    • defcon 4

Somehow I don’t think your insertion of ✡’s is a sign of your sympathy for the Jewish people. Although I find your contention that Iran is Israel’s lap dog quite entertaining. I suppose believing it requires one to be a Sunni islam0fascist.

I too think that Obamacare drew so much heat Obama wanted to change the subject and this Iran nuke deal is it. What more will we see of the November surprise? Sure Iran can now develop and sell to terrorists. Al Q have hit US three time on 9/11 are primary terror attack outfit. But once the technology is out it will pass along the jihad food chain and all of us will be in deadly danger of a suicide attack.
US has open borders and allows visa holders from ME and terror areas and has no security on Southern borders.
The world is a ticking time bomb thanks to Obama’s sloppy verification policy..

What a bunch of Neo-con BS! How well did flexing our muscle in Iraq do to deter Iran and stabilize the middle east. Your policies failed miserably.

it has been reported iran suspended their nuclear program in ’03. they were not quite sure what the crazy cowboy might do next. after awhile though, he figured let the next guy deal with it. too bad. they took down two buildings, we took down two pos countries. if we didn’t care about their hearts or minds, iran would be over in less than a month … and no boots on the ground, none

What a brilliant article. Well done Daniel

  • Idiotsville

Mr. Greenfield you have the writing skill of a 14 year old. Your bias is clearly apparent and your historic recollections are highly suspicious. Not to mention your paranoia regarding Israel is pathetic. Israel can take care of itself, and will make short work of any challengers in the region.

    • Erudite Mavin

Israel, small country of 8 million, you believe could take out Iran, a larger in size country with over 76 million people not to mention Iran’s many client states from the Middle East, Africa and South America.
The Left and the PaleoCons have always fought to allow Israel hang.
They use their usual bogus excuses to hide their anti Semitic views and agenda

      • Fritz

That assumes that everyone in that 76 million population will blindly follow the Ayatollahs over the cliff. Most of that 76 million, probably 95% or better, is just trying to get by much like the people in the old Soviet Union were just trying to get by, it’s no skin off their nose what happens to the regime, the only ones that care are the goons in the religious police and the Revolutionary Guard. One thing everyone seems to forget is that Iran went to war with Iraq for 9 years, lost a generation of young men, and ended up in a stalemate. Iraq has maybe 30 million people, Iran had maybe twice that at the time.

Israel, on the other hand, has a population of 9 million, and went to war with Egypt that had a population of 40+ million in the 60s and 70s, and defeated them every time. Everyone assumes that Israel would use an air assault or ground troops to take on Iran, I’m betting on something more covert. Nobody seems to talk about the sabotage going on inside the Iranian nuclear program, computer viruses, equipment destroyed, scientists killed, we in the West may not realize it but the war is already going on.

        • Chavi Beck

Exactly. Did nobody notice how in a speech Netanyahu said “we’ve been struggling for 10 years” against Iranian nukes.

    • Chris Behme

      Appropriate moniker. Your hometown?

  • William_Bradford

Syria, and the Iranian nuke agreement, were I running China, would lead
me to believe that the US could not be relied upon to protect anyone –
including perhaps one or more American cities. Obama, like a
little boy, wants to be idolized, he has no life experiences that have
prepared him for the seriousness of where he finds himself – he assumes
responsibility for nothing, and declares everything that goes awry to be
the fault of others; all symptoms of an unrepentant narcissist, and
narcissists care for no one but themselves – they come to the aid of no
one. Thus the Iranian agreement is made at Israel’s expense, as Iran is
permitted to keep its uranium enrichment capacity. So why would anyone
not believe that this will ultimately lead to clandestine Iranian
nuclear weapons development? There are only two possible responses,
the US is stupid, or they don’t care. Disregarding stupidity, we are
left with the Suadis, gulf states, Egypt, and Israel are all at risk,
for America will risk nothing for any of them. For Japan’s benefit: if Obama won’t protect the ME, why would you expect him to protect Asia

What Daniel makes clear, and wasn’t widely accepted, is that even if Israel attacked the nuke facilities Iran would simply rebuild them – those running Iran are dedicated, and intent on obtaining nukes. Only the destruction of the current regime will stop Iran’s inexorable march to the bomb – no trivial bombing campaign, no matter how effective, will deter the current bunch of Iranians running the country. The problem isn’t the facilities, its those driving the creation of the facilities.

    • defcon 4

I’d figure the problem is both rather than one or the other.

      • William_Bradford

Yep, but one affects primarily the ME. The other the world.

    • Drakken

Your a tad wrong, it is not narcissism that Comrade Obummer suffers from, it is the typical affirmative action, promoted beyond their capability, believe their own rhetoric leftist narrative, and it is all of our faults that we let it happen in the first place. The one thing that I can reliably depend upon is human nature showing the folly in our wishful thinking and is the arbitrator of all things in the end. This anyway you cut or slice it, ends very badly. The muslims will continue to push until war breaks out and then let slip the dogs of war.

  • Texas Patriot

DG is not saying that Israel stands alone apart from God, but rather that Israel stands alone in the world vis-a-vis other nations and other men, and I think that is increasingly true. In effect, what DG is saying is that the P5+1 agreement is a reality check and a wake up call that unless Israel takes actions to defend herself, no one else will do it.

    • Daniel Greenfield

      Yes, G-d never abandons.

      But we’re discussing geopolitics.

      • Texas Patriot

Yes, but in the larger sense of things, it is impossible to leave God out of the equation. I think everything we are seeing today is part of a barely visible process which is steadily realigning the world in accordance with God’s greater glory. As we go forward, we may all be put through some rather uncomfortable gyrations, but why fight it? When you know you’re getting ready to go over a waterfall, the only thing to do is get ready to swim.

Personally, I think we just have to continue to deal with a radically changing reality day by day, even if we don’t know exactly how it’s going to play out. There will be many ways to win no matter how grim it all becomes. We just have to keep looking for them and seize them as and when they appear.

No one ever said it would be easy.

        • Daniel Greenfield

G-d is the equation. But without knowing what He intends, we have to try and do our best. We have to look to G-d, but at the same time we have to deal with the world as it is

          • Texas Patriot

I think you hit the nail on the head by suggesting that Obama’s nuke deal may be a blessing in disguise. As it is written, the Lord’s ways are beyond the mind of man. If nothing else the Obama peace plan will almost certainly accelerate the crumbling of the cookie.

          • Daniel Greenfield

            I certainly hope so.

  • TheOrdinaryMan

A nuclear Iran? 50 times as frightening as a nuclear North Korea. And what’s even more frightening is what Israelis say Iranians think of Americans. They despise us.
America is their prime target. And they say the only way they’ll accept us is if we convert to Islam. What was that that Gen. McAuliffe said to the Germans at Bastogne?

  • steve b

I HOPE TO WAKE UP TO STORIES ABOUT THE MUSHROOM CLOUDS OVER TEHRAN, THE IRANIAN OIL FIELDS, AND THE IRANIAN WEAPONS SITES. THEY SHOULD DO IT ON THURSDAY, THE FIRST DAY OF HANUKKAH, AND SEE IF THE FIRES BURN FOR 8 DAYS.

  • Drakken

    War is coming, prepare yourself!

  • Arf

Let us hope Israel’s politicians finally “get it.” I take nothing for granted. Israel has more often than not acted against its own interests and has caused immeasurable suffering to its own people. The IDF seems to care more about its image as first responders to natural disasters in other countries than it does to protecting its people from their enemies. Netanyahu, ever cognizant of financial rewards to Israel’s economy and its entrepreneurial elite, has often let poor and patriotic Israelis face daily attacks alone and undefended in order to ensure profitable trade agreements. He says at the UN, “We are not leaving! We are here to stay!” as he evicts Jews from their homes and pushes the borders back, back and back. Chief of Staff Benny Gantz’s wife regularly takes part in demonstrations hampering the IDF from defending the citizens in Judea/Samaria. Shimon Peres, years ago, stated that if the Jews in Judea/Samaria didn’t vacate their homes so that they could be given to the Arabs, he would allow the Palestinians to do as they wish with terrorism. I have little faith in the “leadership” of Israel, particularly after this latest prisoner release.

    • Texas Patriot

Wow. Is all of that true? The Israeli government sounds even more corrupt than our own. Obviously we all need to get on more of a war-footing. If we can avoid all-out war, that’s great. If not, we better make sure that we’re prepared.

      • Arf

Yes it is true. And much worse. But make no mistake about it: All governments do stuff like this — including the U.S. What the U.S. has done to its soldiers in Afghanistan in placing them in harm’s way, in ignoring the blatant threats from jihadists in this country, in encouraging the infiltration of the FBI with jihadists, in striping our military of any officer who disagree with the policies of appeasement, and on and on and on.

        • Texas Patriot

You’re absolutely right, Arf. We need a government that the American people can trust to put our interests first and one that never puts an American soldier in harm’s way unless it is absolutely necessary for the defense of the American people. Sacrificing American “blood and treasure” in far off lands in hope of achieving peace in a land that has never known peace does not meet that criteria.

  • Ellman48

“Obama was never going to stop Iran from going nuclear, but his promises
gave people who should have known better, including American Jewish
leaders and the Prime Minister of Israel, the idea that he would stand
    firm.”

The ‘Lyin King’ is either the smoothest liar that ever existed or has followers that are the most naive and gullible that ever did! I used to wonder how the Germans could possibly believe Hitler, the Russians Stalin, or the Chinese Mao. Will millions have to die and decades have to pass before the true nature of this monster is revealed?

    • defcon 4

No one had to believe Stalin, he took over an already established dictatorship — the only opposition he faced was in the politburo.

I suppose Hitler must have good PR, because I can’t imagine anyone admiring the author of Mein Kampf — outside of islam0fascist states.

  • Ellman48

“In a Post-American world; Israel stands alone. It will live or die based on what it does next.”

What happened in the Post-Roman world? Answer: ISLAM! The religion of peace which created an ocean of blood!

    • defcon 4

Classical Rome was already dead by the time Islam rose its ugly head. The Roman Republic had been dead for centuries. Byzantium was a theocracy — and not a very nice one at that.

  • Texas Patriot

What I like about this situation is the possibility of seeing Israel tune up to full war footing. As suggested by the great Sun Tzu, the only way to avoid war is being prepared to win it in an absolutely overwhelming and completely devastating fashion.

  • tigertooth

The words spoken by Jesus continue to come to mind, “no flesh will survive unless I return”

  • Danny

Daniel, your thesis statement gave me chills. The reason it did so might give you chills. You wrote: (I’m paraphrasing) that what would have been worse than this deal is if Obama had played for time until Iran detonated a nuclear device. That’s true. But just before I read your article I was wondering about the timing of this deal. Whether Obama was in on it or not, was this a calculated move by the Iranians to placate the West just long enough to put its finishing touches on its nuclear arsenal? Why would the Iranians have made any deal unless its nuclear program was already fait accompli? I hope that you’re right and I’m not. I hope I’m worrying needlessly.

  • Malcolm Jackson

Agree with most of what you say except the part about the USA beating the Nazis. The Soviet Union destroyed 90% of the Nazi war machine, and if the USA had remained out of the war, just supplying materiel to the USSR the Russians would have beaten the Nazis on their own. Of course if that had happened the whole of Western Europe would have become part of the USSR. It took a system as evil as the Nazis to destroy the Nazis.

  • Bookhunter

    The die has been cast.

  • defcon 4

That’s debatable. The USSR was fighting some 60% of Germany’s military. If Germany could’ve brought its entire military might to bear on the USSR, the Nazis might have beat them all the way back to Siberia.

  • Mladen_Andrijasevic

This statement is simply not correct “Chamberlain’s deal with
Hitler signified that the UK was no longer willing or able to stop the Nazis.
And despite its eventual declaration of war and the heroic efforts of its
people; the United States ushered in the American world order by destroying the
Nazi war machine and liberating Western Europe.”

Churchill stopped the Nazis by winning the Battle of Britain, alone. The Nazis
were destroyed by Britain, the USSR and the USA together. There was nothing comparable in the western front to the Battle of Stalingrad and the Battle of Kursk although British decrypts of the Enigma machine helped

  • Bruce Banner

Good article. But the truth of the matter is that the red army destroyed the Nazi war machine.

  • Jakareh

“The final death toll from ObamaCare may end up being in the millions
if a future nuclear attack happens because Obama needed something to
shore up poll numbers that were falling over an inability to make a
    website work.”

The death toll from Obamacare will be in the millions regardless.

So far, there is only one country in the world who has eradicated two cities and murdered hundred of thousands of prople. This country are the UNITED STATES !!!
