Requiem for a Glacier — on The Glazov Gang

mi

This week’s Glazov Gang was joined by Michael Finch, Chief Operating Officer at the David Horowitz Freedom Center, Ann-Marie Murrell, National Director of PolitiChicks, and Joe Lappan, a member of the David Horowitz Freedom Center.

The Glazov Gangsters gathered to discuss Requiem for a Glacier. The discussion occurred in Part II and focused on how mental illness recently reigned supreme when a Global Warming orchestra played for a melting ice giant. [See Daniel Greenfield’s coverage of the event here].

In Part I, the Gang shed light on Obama’s ‘Phony’ Scandals, analyzing why an administration yawns about American deaths in Benghazi.

The only thing “phony” is the preezy of the united steezy and his cabal of anti-white, pro-muslim, communists. Wake-up America. Demand the truth be told, justice be done, and the rule of law applied to everyone.

Great post Camo and I agree 100% with it but……. I read this every single day on all the blogs I keep up with: The Blaze, FrontPage Mag, Daily Caller and Politichicks. I read this same statement over and over and over. It gets to be a blasé thought after a while. “Wake up America?” I wish it was that easy. We have been demanding the truth, we have been demanding justice. But….. who are we demanding this of? The RINO in Washington are doing their own thing. They were voted in by “we” the people and most are not caring as they wheel and deal with the power they have. Sad huh? So, the great US of A is going down the tubes. “Demand the truth” …. demanding is not working. posting this over and over and over on all the blogs does nothing. I suppose we share and commiserate with each other. Action is the answer yes but we need to get voters to the poles. A majority of conservatives still don’t care and they don’t vote. Sorry to beat a dead horse but we do need action! We need a ‘major’ change of action for the GOP. Just my thoughts………..

In the UK, politicians on both sides were “managing the decline” of the British Empire and Britain from the end of the Second World War until 1979. The crisis of socialism running out of other people’s money led to the election of a Conservative government on a moderate manifesto, and Mrs. Thatcher was the politician who began to roll back the state over here. You need to know that income tax was banded, starting at 33% and going up to 80%, with an investment income surcharge of 18% so that, were you receiving any investment income, it was taxed at 18% above your marginal rate of tax, which for the higher earners, meant a marginal rate of tax of 98%.

Mrs. Thatcher began with the main problem, government subsidy of industry leading to domestic industry producing products that nobody wanted to buy, leading to balance of payments issues, and her major are of conflict there was the laws in the UK which allowed unions to basically force workers to go out on strike at the drop of a hat. this was followed by a major simplification of the tax system, reducing the highest rate of tax to 40%. This was the start of rolling back the state, a matter which President Reagan summed up by pointing out that usually government IS the problem.

On both sides of the Atlantic, we need new leaders like Mrs. Thatcher, who are both socially conservative, firmly grounded in Christian moral and cultural values, and libertarian in instincts. We do not have them now, but we must find them, if anglophone society is to survive.

Only in America … could politicians talk about the greed of the rich at a $35,000.00 a plate campaign fund-raising event.

Only in America … could people claim that the government still discriminates against black Americans when they have a black President, a black Attorney General and roughly 20% of the federal workforce is black while only 14% of the population is black. 40+% of all federal entitlements goes to black Americans – 3X the rate that go to whites, 5X the rate that go to Hispanics!

Only in America … could they have had the two people most responsible for our tax code, Timothy Geithner (the head of the Treasury Department) and Charles Rangel (who once ran the Ways and Means Committee), BOTH turn out to be tax cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.

Only in America … can they have terrorists kill people in the name of Allah and have the media primarily react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by the backlash.

Only in America … would they make people who want to legally become American citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens of thousands of dollars for the privilege, while they discuss letting anyone who sneaks into the country illegally just ‘magically’ become American citizens.

Only in America … could the people who believe in balancing the budget and sticking by the country’s Constitution be thought of as “extremists.”

Only in America … could you need to present a driver’s license to cash a check or buy alcohol, but not to vote.

Only in America … could people demand the government investigate whether oil companies are gouging the public because the price of gas went up when the return on equity invested in a major U.S. oil company (Marathon Oil) is less than half of a company making tennis shoes (Nike).

..

Only in America … could the government collect more tax dollars from the people than any nation in recorded history, still spend a Trillion dollars more than it has per year – for total spending of $7-Million PER MINUTE, and complain that it doesn’t have nearly enough money.

Only in America … could the so called “rich”; people – who pay 86% of all income taxes – be accused of not paying their “fair share” by people who don’t pay any income taxes at all.

Just wanted to mention that Colorado is enjoying weather much like it was in my first couple of decades here: summers sunny and warm, afternoon temps in the mid- to high-80s, with a couple or three weeks in 90-degree temps and the afternoon 2-hour “monsoon” in the summer afternoons. I hope that Colorado’s climate or weather, or whatever it is, is returning to what it was in the 80s and early 90s. That would be nice.

How do you equate being against the destruction of God’s Creation with being against unborn babies or humans who are being exploited or even killed? You are being irrational here in order to ridicule what you want to discredit. I am deeply religious and deeply concerned about the injustices in this world. I was also at the glacier for the Requiem for the Glacier. There was not a big carbon footprint to do so, by the way. Most of the people involved live within a close radius of these mountains. You didn’t even mention on your show the main reason the event was held in the first place — because people whose focus in life is making a buck are planning on building a mega-resort there on the glacier despite the local opposition and the destruction it will cause. I can’t believe you still dispute that global warming is real. Have you been living with a bag over your head these last few years with all the extreme weather events we’ve been having globally? Don’t you realize that people will suffer tremendously as a result of the destruction caused by callous and selfish people who take abusing God’s Creation as a joke? This is not about animal rights activism or equating ants with babies. This is about taking the role of steward seriously. At the end of your life, will you look your Creator in the eye and say, “The only reason I recycled my bottles was because I got money for it?”

I see you’ve deleted the comment I wrote yesterday. I still think it’s important for you to hear a broader view from a fellow Christian. Are you afraid of a voice that is not a simple cheerleader for your position? You have not deleted the comments below that sound like irrational blabber, so I will post again and challenge you to make a rational response yourself to my comment.

I apologize — you didn’t delete my comment. I didn’t realize you have that system of voting comments up and down. Obviously I’m new here.
