Putin and the Shadow of the KGB — on The Glazov Gang

This week’s Glazov Gang had the honor of being joined by Borek Volarik, a Czech Defector, Kevin Gonzales, the producer of the upcoming documentary: “Martyred in the USSR,” and Leon Weinstein, a Soviet emigré and author of “Capitalism 101.”

The Gang members gathered to discuss: Putin and the Shadow of the KGB. The dialogue occurred in Part II and dealt with why exactly there were never any Nuremberg-style trials for communist mass murderers. The segment focused on why the KGB still retains power in Russia, the impotence of the West in confronting Putin, and why people should read “Mein Kampf” to gain insight not only into Putin’s propaganda, but also Obama’s.

Part I featured Kevin Gonzales’ upcoming documentary: “Martyred in the USSR,” which focuses on the persecution of Christians, as well as of all religions, under the former Soviet regime. The segment also shed light on why and how the Left has forced this socialist mass crime into historical invisibility.

No, it just gave up on the Soviet Union and decided to concentrate on taking over America form the inside. And, they are doing quite a job.

  • Flicker

Oh, no you di'int!!! You were my frinds; we sat on sofas and hid our secret disdain and deeper affection for that hermaphoditic biker witht he nail polish and mascara.

Then you changed the set to a green screen, making you look like a second-rate cable news show or a TBN televangelist prophet of end-times headlines.

Now you have changed the music to a third-rate community access news wannabe with a host who would have been a great phys ed teacher if he'd been able to pass his teaching certification. You're three quantum levels of quality below the Onion and the Colbert Report.

    Don't humiliate yourselves!!

    • Flicker

      The above was said light-heartedly.

It was a great show, though.

    • Kenny Williams

With a special field in psychology, I can tell you that from this letter one can see a lot of deep-rooted envy and a person who has felt a lot of humiliation in his life and is very professionally and personally unaccomplished. …. especially in the sense of failing to end up doing and succeeding in one's own personal dreams. You may want to seek out some therapy rather than hurl insults at a website tv show where the participants are clearly dealing with a tight budget and aim to get the truth out and are willing to sacrifice image and other aspects of tv glamor in the process.

      • Flicker

And this is because I liked the sofas better? Or because I liked the old music better.

I appologize for the tone of my comment. I just thought, and still do, that the teletype staccato of the opening and closing music is co cliched, that it made the show one of a hundred , whereas before it always seemed to me to be rather brave and alternative. And even then I did try to mitigate what I said: it was an excellent program.

Now this next may be snarky, but it's nice to know that you can so accurately diagnose the character and neuroses of a person from a single comment without projecting.

  • Trebuchet

Well, it did in Europe but the progressives in this country had brought the Frankfurst School here from Germany in the late 30's and ensconsed them in Columbia, Princeton, Brandies and Berkely where they set about the task of turning universities into Siege Machines to be set against Western Civilization and the Judeo-Christian morals it was based on. Marx and Engels were the models for their sociatal theories and they turned out disciples such as Russel and Huxley and their greatest aim? Destroy the basic fabric of America; the Family and the Church. The Church in America which Alexis de Tocqueville called "The secret of Americas genius and power!" So, the fall of the Soviet Union became a moot point since our would be overlords the progressives had already ingrained our society with a festering sickness that has now boiled to fever pitch. So maybe Communism is dead but I don't think that was the goal in the first place. We may live to see a return of a Roman styled world empire with all that it implies.

    • Tom Stafford

Trebuchet, Russel? I am not familiar with him? But I am somewhat familiar with Huxley. His works were more of a harbinger or warning about the direction he thought that the world was taking. But, do agree that academe is over-run by socialists/statists.

  • Rostislav

I do agree that Communism isn't dead at all: our Comrades just have exchanged their worn Party cards for the brand-new Visa ones. It was already impossible to stay in power, being armed with the obsolete symbols, so they were quickly grasped much more powerful means to stay at the profitable helm of the country. Symbols have changed, yes – but the comrades are absolutely the same (their voters are changing little by little, thanks God, but the process is so torturously slow!). Man you guys need to get over yourselves with this whole Marx is evil nonsense. Marx was the greatest philosopher of his day and has ushered in a new paradigm to human thinking about how society and economics are interconnected. He established the core foundation of a new modern society that you enjoy living in today. There is not ONE country on earth where his influences have not left their mark. You can thank Marx for more human progress in the past 150 years than any one man has ever contributed to society before him. Dialectical Materialism is the foundation of rational philosophical reasoning devoid of superstition, dogma, and hate. It was Marx who through dialectics showed just how people like this author are mearly the tools of the aristocracy in promoting alienation from each other… christian vs atheist… scientist vs zelot… right vs left… black vs white… USA vs USSR… coke vs pepsi… Slave vs Master. There is going to be a better world that you can not stop no matter how much you "hate" on Marx and Engels… they will have the last laugh when the world realizes we are far better off embracing technology over superstition… that we are ALL better off when the least of us are not in pain, hungry, poverty and repression. There are actual scientific and ethical ways of treating other humans that have no bearing in politics, hate, division. Unfortunately most of you think Marxists are just all against Christians… no one is persecuting you… you persecute each other…. protestant vs catholic… Baptist vs Episcopalian… If you didn't have Marx to hate on you would be hating on someone else.. maybe Muslims or Buddhists or whoever is in vogue to hate on…. you should just all come to embrace a new world order and try to preserve your heritage the same way you made the Native Americans have to preserve theirs for progress. One of Marx's greatest sayings is that everything is in change… either you are growing or you are dying… nothing every stays the same. So what side of that spectrum do you think Capitalism and Religion are on?

    • reader

" You can thank Marx for more human progress in the past 150 years than any one man has ever contributed to society before him"

Thank you, Karl, especially for over 100 million people slaughtered in your name and in the name of your crack pot theory calling for rebirth of mass slavery dressed up in demagoguery twisting the meaning of equality.

    • UCSPanther

Karl Marx's ideology has done untold damage to civilization. It needs to be treated like any kind of useless industrial equipment: By getting cut up for scrap and sent to the smelter where it belongs.

    • Drakken

The fact that you hold this abomination to humanity in such high regard shows us that there is no comprise with you and yours of your ilk. Folks like you need to be fought with any means neccessary to prevent our demise.

  • john

Buddy , the track record of Marx as a human , the track record of the people who bought into his world view and followed it – failure , ruin , misery , death , for all under its enlightened gospel of whats yours is mine whats mine is yours – EXCEPT for me your fearless leader , it all belongs to me for the good of all – Yeah , Right .

  • pierce

The only person I know who can play games with the thugocracy is our fearless leader when he said something to the then Russian President Medvedev about after he was reelected. Are we being sold down the river?

  • Theo Prinse

Editor etc Bill Gertz http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Gertz for the Washington Free Beacon reporting on Asia, China, Korea's etc is member of the Unification Church founded in Asia by Moon in 1950 (CIA). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unification_Church The church has engaged in interfaith activities with other religions, zoals mainstream Christianity and Islam, Despite theological differences

The American (cultural) conservatives (traditionalism) since 1950 ha ha were represented by people like former Trotskyite James Burnham CIA (sharing the same birth and death data as the mentor and possible bio father Hussein Obama CIA – CIA Frank Marshall Davis 1905 to 1987) and CIA recruit Catholic William F. CIA Buckley Jr. (1925-2008) who developed American conservatism via their respective National Review and Buckley via his 1450 episodes Firing Line …

Frank Gaffney (initially democrat) of the Center for Security Policy worked under Richard Perle (initially democrat) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Perle who both worked for President Ronald Reagan. Before Richard Perle worked for Henry Martin "Scoop" Jackson who was an unsuccessful candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1972 and 1976. The political philosophies and positions of Jackson, a Cold War anti-Communist Democrat, have been cited as an influence on a number of key figures associated with neo conservatism, like Paul Wolfowitz and Richard Perle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Henry_M._Jackson.

Frank Gaffney naively praised cardinal Jorge Bergoglio who collaborated with Jorge Videla / Jorge Zorreguieta (father of Maxima Zorreguita member of the Dutch nazi Royal family) and his murderous regime killing 30.000 people ….

    2. Conservatism in principle is the political requirement to have private property (means or production: buildings, machinery and raw materials) protected in law This conservative demand also implies a small government.

2a. this political requirement for a small government can be derived from different ideologies as well.

2b. Secondary to the principle of conservatism is the American cultural conservatism being anachronistic (since 1950) and which cultural conservatism is cultivated by people like Buckley and Burnham. Especially Buckley in his firing lines in reality has cultivated a reactionary dialectics as surrogate. Example can be found in Buckley against Chomsky were Buckley thought himself entitled to challenge the left intellectual attacks on soldiers in Vietnam (John McCain) which then secretary of defense Robert McNamarra years later admitted to have acted in error. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_McNamara

    3. The main players in the Vietnam War and the Korean War like Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon etc were psy opsed by MKULTRA of the 500 Dr. Mengele's in the CIA from 1950 …and ten of thousands who fled to Argentine and resorts like Bariloche. MKULTRA specialized in drugs and pornographic blackmail and negatively inspired or rather made the angry young men, pop culture, power flower etc. instrument to nazi driven geo politics untill the Frank Church commission seemingly put an end to that. The CIA however since the heroine filled Vietnam body bags has deeply rooted into the worlds drugs trafficking which is why the Fast & Furious scandal and poppy driven Afghanistan is abject.

  • Theo Prinse

cntd. 4. The plastic anachronistic cultural conservatism by Buckley – Burnham is better called reactionary dialectic has placed itself as a anachronistic quasi philosophy next to the pre German-imperial cultural nationalism by Herder and Fichte and culturally as an anachronistic and quasi philosophy opposed to the then righteous American political nationalism and the then leftist French political nationalism.
    b. It can be concluded that William Buckley and James Burnham have obscured the in essence simple conservative political principle of ownership. This took place in the decades of debate with American Communists like Frank M Davis, Saul Alinsky, the Weathermen Underground of LSD Timothy Leary, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, earlier the Port Huron Statement writer Tom Hayden, married to Hanoi Jane Fonda et all.
After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1990 within the republican party these quasi conservatism grew in electoral divisive tendencies like neo, paleo, etc religious conservatism.

    c. The deranged contrast between the principled conservatism versus cultural conservatism all plays against the background of

    1. Islam oil in return for war planes . dependency, the television mass media monopoly US commercialism. Hussein Obama and his Cairo 4th of June 2009) speech written by Ben Rhodes who is the brother of the president of CBS is only expanding. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Rhodes_(speechwr

    2. the cultual conservatism plays against the background of a highly mafia wealthy middle class who are not afraid to instigate Korea in a nuclear war and instigate the US in a domestic civil war under Hussein Obama or instigate a further and total fundamentalism of the Islamic world and which US mafia section of middle class are not afraid to have the average citizen acquiescence for their theft of the century of many 10 tens of thousands of billions (including Europeans, Chinese and Japanese Abe)

    5. The Republican rationale is the requirement to man-made laws to be controlled against Islamic theocratic, monarchical or national and international socialist dictatorships

    6. I resume to assume that the successful policy of the Polish Canadian Catholic Zbigniew Brzezinski to crush the Soviet Union with stingers to the Mujahedin Khalq in Afghanistan – as in Benghazigate with Ground to Air Missiles and Manpads from Al Qaeda Libya to Al Qaeda Syria by Obama & Erdogan – again clearly is to be placed in the context of unifying a Roman Europe … and neo and paleo conservative figures like Paul Wolfowitz and Richard Perle (under George Walker Bush) had an important role as wheelbarrow but Perle and Wolfowitz are now silly faced with the rise of Islam under Hussein Obama and the Clinton Muslim Brotherhood Outreach program as Brzezinski perceived it in place of Soviet communism. Perle and Wolfowitz doctrine effectively have an instrumental role in the European Union and Islam for oil doctrine for Europe
