While I love Bill Whittle, he wasn't correct about gun ownership in the happiest country :-) of the world. Only people on active duty (134'886) are required to have guns which "are considered personal equipment of the soldier, who is responsible for their well-functioning and must keep them at home until the end of the military service (unless living near an external border of Switzerland)" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_Switzerl

Dear Sophie…get a clue. The Supreme Court ruled on that issue, and say you're wrong.

I think it was Mike Finch who near the end of part II said Lincoln hoped God was on his side. I had to go back and dig up that quote. Lincoln: "Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God's side, for God is always right."

It is abundantly clear, many in Congress, even so called Repubs, are mainly interested in controlling the populace. For if this was not the case, why is it that anyone who shows a Constitutional spine, and tries to protect the Republic too, is deemed a misanthrope and tarred with every bugaboo? And isn't it the case, PC psychosis has gripped most of the reps in the chamber? Moreover, how many are in bed with Islamists, the same people who are seeking to upend the U.S. and implant Sharia Law?
These are not frivolous questions. They demonstrate why almost the entire crew of Repubs (the Dems are beyond the pale) must be replaced. Hopefully, only those with true spine will be allowed to replace them – http://adinakutnicki.com/2012/08/29/republican-na

Excellent contribution!! i.e., clarification. Thank you.

We forget that this world is not going to last forever as it is constituted. If we are christians we should know this. Capitalism and American "exceptionalism" do not promote us to heaven. I fear that we are to interested in protecting the American standard of living rather than advancing the Gospel of Jesus and the knowledge of God. The Lord Jesus warns us that we should beware the corruption of wealth. In fact He tells us to sell all and take up our cross. If you think not, then you must choose between Jesus Way and your own. Is it wrong for others to steal from us? Yes, but it is also wrong for us to allow lepers to lie at our doorsteps uncared for. Jesus affection for the poor cannot be underestimated. His warnings to the rich cannot be underestimated. And His way of redistribution of wealth cannot be misunderstood. It is better to give that to receive, but it is not correct to force charitable giving by taxing those who are unwilling to be charitable.

    • κατεργάζομαι

"If we are christians we should know this. Capitalism and American "exceptionalism" do not promote us to heaven. "

Capitalism is a pedal to the metal Marxist term.

"The Lord Jesus warns us that we should beware the corruption of wealth."

The LORD made Solomon the richest person in history!

You misappropriate Scripture in the context of "capitalism" and our alms for the poor.

    • κατεργάζομαι

lambsev 55p "His warnings to the rich cannot be underestimated." WHY is that?

Sound Theology suggests: …."His warnings to the rich should NOT be OVER estimated."

I so eschew cherry-picking Biblical passages & the message of Christ to fit one's platform.

In Obamanomics 2013, we never hear this verse:

"For even when we were with you,
this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat."

Bible CONTEXT is a beautiful thing.

      • lambsev

I don't know where you got the idea that I support Obama or indolence. When I mentioned redistribution of wealth, it was not to suggest that we support the indolent. It was to say that our charitable giving should NOT AT ALL be given over to or usurped by the government through taxation. It is wrong to coerce false charity by legislations and taxation. Nevertheless the care of the widow and orphan is an important part of the churches commission. Could it be that the churches failure to adequately serve them causes liberals to think they should do a better job than the church does? Perhaps this prayer from proverbs will help you understand the POV I advocate:

        Proverbs 30
        7 [God,] I have asked two things of you;
don’t deny them to me as long as I live —
8 keep falsehood and futility far from me,
and give me neither poverty nor wealth.
        Yes, provide just the food I need today;
9 for if I have too much, I might deny you
and say, “Who is the Lord?”
And if I am poor, I might steal
and thus profane the name of my God.

    • PhillipGaley

"lambsev" confuses levels of reality: As in "My Brethren, be not of many changes of clothes.", the Apostle's predicate is in recognition of the fact that, being no longer under the mid-night causes and effects of personal dissipation, wealth tends to accumulate in the lives of Christians, in many instances, blessings in prosperity "shaken down and pressed together, overtake until one is not able to contain it", from verses which, of course, are not intended to contradict the others which "lambsev" draws from.

In a word, as from the Psalmist: "Happy is the nation whose G0D is The Lord." national wealth then, cannot be avoided, . . . whether or not, this world is not going to last forever, . . .

      • lambsev

Perhaps the problem is that the church and nation so enriched has actually contained the blessing God intended for them to share? Certainly wealth is envied and there are many who think it unfair that any rich man retain his/her riches. But I don't advocate that the rich succumb to theft.

It is said that a priest in the middle ages once commented after accounting the church treasury, "Well, it can no longer be said: 'silver and gold I have none! " To which the treasurer replied, "Yes, but can it now be said, "such as I have give I thee, in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk!"

I heartily recommend Luke Chapter16 for your evening devotions.

    • Mo_

"Capitalism and American "exceptionalism" do not promote us to heaven."

I agree. But this is not a Christian web site, so we cannot expect them to hold that view.

"In fact He tells us to sell all and take up our cross."

No, He does not. He said that to one particular man because He knew for that man, money had become an idol.

Wealth is simply a tool. Like any other tool, it can be used for positive purposes or negative purposes.

Wealthy people are not inherently evil, nor are poor people inherently righteous. This is not the teaching of Scripture.

      • lambsev

I look at it this way, He told that man to sell all. Why? Because He does not wish any to be so attached to their wealth that they are unable to actually sell all IF He commanded them to sell all. Ask yourself: "If Jesus told me to sell all, would I obey?" The answer will tell you how attached you are to your bank account and possessions.

        • Mo_

Which is very different from what you originally claimed, which was that Jesus told us all to sell our possessions. He did not. Wealth/wealthy people are not inherently evil. Neither are poor people more valuable or righteous just because they are poor.

"The answer will tell you how attached you are to your bank account and possessions. "

Good thing I have neither, since I've been un/under-employed for five years, and with no relief in sight.

  • lambsev

Nevertheless, the rich have this advantage they are able to do more for the poor from the strength of their wealth than those who have no wealth. This is why we need an economy which can thrive. Without doubt the wealth of America has supported the world for the past 125 years. Europe has been destroyed and rebuilt twice, Japan once, and all the while American freedom and knowhow drove the economic ship. God has shed His grace on America, and it is clear that His purposes are served by this nation in unique ways. But we shouldn't take it as a sign that we are better people than other nations. If we have obeyed God and prospered, it was only our duty to do so. And as that was what I believe happened, we should do that again.

    • Asher

The rich create the jobs and opportunities, thats why they have been persecuted and penalized to destroy more jobs by this administration.

    • PhillipGaley

And here, "lambsev" again confuses levels of reality: The well-known narrative of "the widow's mite" clearly shows how that, little is much when G0D is in it, that, in the instance there remarked upon by The Lord, the rich who gave of their wealth had not given more; rather was it that poor woman who gave more because—as He pointed out—she gave of her dearth, all that she had, . . .

      • lambsev

Very true, she gave everything she had! I want to be able someday to say the same, and fear too many of us are scandalized by her example. I see your point entirely. But what is also important is that the christian of means use their wealth to win souls. Jesus wants everyone to be with Him in heaven. If my stinginess so offends one that he or she curse God then have I used my wealth as God used His? Father sent His most valued "possession" His Son Jesus who obediently laid aside the riches of His heavenly Kingdom, came to earth in mortal flesh as a handyman's son and at 30 years old gave all in obedience, becoming an itinerant preaches supported by women, and went without defending Himself to the cross. God's grace is called God's Riches At Christ's Expense.

Our Father "used" His wealth, Jesus, to win our souls for His Kingdom of Heaven!

        2 Corinthians 8:9
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Are we willing to be christians again? Will we fear God? Or are we just going to operate out of fear of each other? Are we willing to stop our habitual disregard for the laws of God? Are we going to reverse Roe vs Wade? In all of the speechifying in the clips in the above article I heard only superficial references to morality. When will we admit that abortion has cursed this nation? Or that it has at least caused God to withhold His blessing from it?

The famous "What if" our forefathers had never rebelled against England?" debate is Biblically false.

Your message appeals to Replacement Theologists, Arminianism, and what the Bible calls ear-ticklers.

The Bible is explicit that true worldwide peace will come only when the feet of the Prince of Peace touch down on the Mount of Olives (Zec:14:4)

      • lambsev

Perhaps I should have asked "When are we going to behave like christians again?" Nonetheless, TY for your criticism. I am happy that you are satisfied in your faith. If you can go on paying taxes to a government which has made murder "legal" and funds its major provider I will not stand in your way. I cannot. I am remembering Bonhoeffer who actually conspired to take out Hitler. Perhaps he was wrong? As for ear tickling, the word Arminianism surely tickles the reformed ear. As I understand God He does want us to expose evil and not hide our light.

As to Zech. 14.4 I say yes! When are people like you going to admit that there is a reason why words such as "Christian" and "Biblical" were omitted from the Constitution? Laws in this country are not derived directly from the Bible. Were that the case, we all would have been executed by law.

      • lambsev

I agree. And God's Kingdom is not a democracy! Nor is it a tyranny! It is a Kingdom whose King is flawlessly perfect and Holy and whose Love is the same! O give thanks unto the Lord for He is GOOD and His mercy endureth forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy!

        Romans 8
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

We have truly pursued a path toward wealth and luxury so passionately that we are unwilling to sacrifice our incomes for the children we conceive! I thought one of his points was helpful, and that is They are going to condemn you anyway, whatever you say, whether you are right or wrong, or agree with them or not….so Speak up. Say your (truthful) piece. Let it fall on the ears who can hear it. At least it will be spoken. We don't want or need their agreement!!

    • fiddler

Right! You have to remove the PULL on someone's motives. If there is nothing that the press can exploit, then one can proceed with better motives. I truly believe that anyone who puts personal ambition as his/her goal in seeking office needs to cease and desist.

TERM LIMITS. Some may say, but what if I LIKE that person. I think we have reached a point where it is obvious that the seduction of riches, fame and power (constantly protected by pork to placate constituents) is like cocaine for these people.

And the media just has to SQUEEZE ever so slightly to upset the political basking. But if there were not the cherished CAREER (hello John Roberts) to nurse at the altar, MAYBE there might begin to be some real passion and integrity. TERM LIMITS for Legislators. And while we are at it how about score cards for journalists? After all, we are consumers. Not just ratings, but published public feedback.

    Dwight,
It’s good to see you in action again and still swinging against the madness. Murdock was the picture of sanity compared to today’s electorate. I miss you and the fam. My love to them both.

Stockholm syndrome my ass. In the "old days" it was called cowardice. The GOP has given up the fight on socialism. They argue that they would be better stewards of it than the Democrats. But, they do not argue against it. We need a real conservative party in this country. I give up on the GOP. The GOP is profoundly corrupt. The GOP is a collection of jellyfish. Jellyfish: no brain, no balls, no backbone. Keep voting GOP and keep being disappointed. I have voted GOP since 1984 When I was 18. No more. Enough is enough.

    • fiddler

And no cowtowing to the likes of Chris Matthews!

  • Clare

I'm not sure "no one has" said "it".
    You just said it.
Alan West said "I can't stand him. I can't stand the man." speaking of Obama. West has been very verbal about why, too.
There must be hundreds of online NGO's and media outlets who say O is a communist marxist, and hundreds and thousands of Americans and patriots who agree that O and his enablers are traitors and are not shy to say it. (In my opinion, the "mainstream" isn't very main anymore. I wouldn't call 50/50 main. It seems to me that the media is split into some powerful branches and tributaries.)
Regarding a leader or person to "say it":
You are correct. We are not looking for another political party. We are looking for a "Leader" or a "Person". It's just that your generalizations give no evidence of "us people" having representation when in fact that "Leader or Person" may be in our midst.
I am suggesting to change the focus: as in making a list, and begin choosing. Again, there are hundreds; there's several right here working for and appearing on FPM. There are Military persons. Patriots. Journalists.
Citizens who want to defend our Constitutional Representative Republic can and should launch "Operation Step Up" or some such thing in order to discover that "Leader" and bring her or him to fore so that we can unite and get on with the defense of our country.

    • Indio Viejo

Rep.Allen West should be at the head of the revolutionary leadership we need. I believe we do need this change at the top of the Republican Party or we will disappear. The Democ-rats chose the extreme left, we need just to be Conservatives, stand on liberty and the Constitution and the people will vote our way.

    • fiddler

And they have to do as was said in the interview — they have to logically turn pundits "arguments" on their head unashamably with passion. People need to know it is THEM this person represents, not his/her own career aspirations.

  • james j. whittemore

Well, that was a wonderful chin wag guys. Someone mentioned it would take a huge story to provide the energy to blow Obama into a permanent geocentric orbit. How's this for a wake up call for our Marxist friends: Texas will soon have the signature on their petition to secede from The Union. In the end Lincolns dream of preserving The Union was not to be. He freed the slaves but it came back to bite him in the rear. I am moving to the new Lonestar country of Texas. If that fails I move back to Berlin where we still remember communism well.

    • slider 96

please pack your bags , you're a fascist in disguise . the sooner you and your ilk leave , the better . preferably Berlin .

How about Allen West? He's a pretty big story.

  • Kevin Stroup

It is not Stockholm Syndrome. It is cowardice. The Republican party supports and believes in socialism too. They never vote for smaller government. They have nothing to personally gain by voting to cancel someones welfare check. Its called Game Theory. I, for one, have probably voted my last time as a Republican. I have been disappointed too many times by so-called "conservatives" in the GOP. The GOP is a group of jellyfish. Jellyfish: no brain, no balls, no backbone. That describes the GOP. They will allow the socialist in the Democrat party to destroy this country with no attempt to stop it. They are therefore complicit in this destruction.

    • Asher

There are Republican progressives who hide it…you have to evaluate whats happened in taxes going up, regulations on businesses, and no curtailment of spending….are the establishment GOP this spineless, or was it on purpose that they let this happen, to the American people, to go along with the Democrat Progressive movement…many people do not think they are really that spineless, but that they allowed this decline to happen on purpose.

One day, Karl, Jesus will return and rule and reign from Jerusalem, the City of the Great King. If you wish to be His subject in everlasting peace and real prosperity, you must believe Him in this lifetime. If you refuse Him now, He has another place prepared for you and all who refuse Him and His heaven.

If you want to be in God's invisible kingdom, do us a favor and ascend to the sky already. Here in America, we have a democracy.

          • lambsev

I'm not saying we don't have a democracy.(Or does it have us at this point?) But I am saying it will one day become something else altogether.

Revelation 11:15 The seventh angel then blew [his] trumpet, and there were mighty voices in heaven, shouting, The dominion (kingdom, sovereignty, rule) of the world has now come into the possession and become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ (the Messiah), and He shall reign forever and ever (for the eternities of the eternities)! [Amplified Bible]

I have nothing against Jaime Glasov. Just weighing in with my preference for Michael Finch as a moderator. Requires special talents. Either you have them or you don't. Finch has them -in abundance- Glasov not so much.

A Great discussion by The Finch Gang. It's such a breath of fresh air to listen to conservatism expressed in such an intelligent and insightful way. The Glasov Gang is emotional life support for me. I can't listen to most news sources anymore.Lt.Col.Allan West is my choice as "that man who has nothing to lose".If all the disparate Tea Party groups could coalesce behind a single leader like Allen West it could become a force to be reckoned with wether as a third party or changing the Republican Party. He has leadership skills and is quite inspiring. As for events that can change things, I sure hope it's not an EMP bomb.

    • Questions

Allen West has a golden career ahead of him as a hot-button radio talk show host. But he's no more likely to be elected to public office than Glenn Beck. His election as a Florida congressman in 2010 was a fluke. His personality is so unpleasant that I hardly can imagine this will change.

    • Ray Burke

I agree with you concerning the EMP bomb. However, you might agree that an EMP from ANY source would surely clear the deck !!!

The Establishment GOP got their candidates in Dole, McCain, and Romney, they are RINOS and are not true Conservatives, and people recognize that fact, thats why Hussein won again, along with enough voter fraud to get re-elected…Obama still got less votes than he got the first time, but in selected areas where there was voter fraud he was able to get enough states to win.

    • Peter

If I may interject for a moment. It is not Whites that are slaughtering each other in Chicago, but blacks. The White rate for gun Homicide is on par per capita with Switzerland. It is not the Amish in their fields nor the Japanese Americans who are playing “Polar Bear Hunting” or “Knock Out King” or in Ohio, “Beat Whitey Night”. Blacks are waging a race war against White and have been for Decades. The law abiding debate gun control while the gang members (completely unassailable aliens here in out Country) carve up Whites for roast, smuggle drugs in this Country and terrorize our Cities. Detroit, now 95% black, is an unspeakable hell hole. Do you know of Anne Pressly? Of the Knoxville Horror, of Autumn Pasquale?
In all this debate about gun violence, not one person has touched on the real perpetrators. Crazies will always get guns and do unspeakable things in “Gun Free Zones” because they can, but the locked doors, the bars on the windows, the White Flight to the suburbs is the unspeakable violence and mayhem that blacks bring to the table. While churches fly in more Somalia’s every day, while Haitians crawl across our shores, while Latino MS-13 gangs chop the arms off anyone who offends them, you guys argue Biblical verse. Arm yourselves, fools. Sell your cloak and buy a rifle.

Since we’re playing the “some Bill of Rights amendments are better than others” game let us try this out, it’s guaranteed to make the anti-gun zealots (more) crazy.
    Proposed:
Step 1= Pick a city with strict gun laws and a high rate of gun violence. How about Chicago?
Step 2= Select the section of the city that has the highest numbers of shootings and/or the section in which the largest # of convicted shooters lived prior to conviction
Step 3= Do house to house/apartment to apartment searches of every residence in that section to seize illegal weapons
Step 4= Warrants? We ain’t got no warrants. We don’t need no stinking warrants! (We do have these badges, though.)
To hell with the 4th amendment if it’s for the good of the community. What’s so unreasonable about that?
Step 5= sit back and enjoy the spectacle emanating from the lib universe

The writer of the show, Ray McKinnon, was somewhat familiar with my case. His late wife, Lisa Blount was a friend of mine. She and I exchanged letters while I was on death row in Arkansas, and she even sang at a concert in Arkansas, along with Eddie Vedder, Patti Smith, and Johnny Depp, to help raise awareness about my plight.I heard that McKinnon also did research into the cases of other men who had been on death row and had been released or exonerated. It paid off. I can tell you from first hand experience that Rectify is a very realistic show.
