It's unbelievable how much damage a US President can do. It's obscene how the US political system holds that office so little to account. In a parliamentary system the head of government has to answer hostile questions during Question Period from the Opposition benches on a daily basis. Obama is virtually free to blunder around destroying all in sight without ever being held to account. The compliant, sycophantic media doesn't hold him to account either, in fact they cover for him. Is it any surprise such a dysfunctional system would produce such destruction?

The Middle East is only a part of many pieces to the Obama doctrine, turning it upside down scares a lot of people. Betraying Israel and sadly I think he will do much more to them later when the time is right. Being out played by Putin or maybe he never played at all has opened more eyes around the world. Giving money and support to the muslim brotherhood and allowing them access to the White House Now secret deals being made with Iran by his Iranian born advisor Valerie Jarrett giving them concessions and getting nothing in return. Which directly threatens Israel ! Obama gave away British nuclear submarine secrets to the Chinese, Agreed to nuclear deals with Russia giving them a clear strategic advantage. Firing over 200 generals and high ranking officers, cutting out military down to a level that will affect their ability to fight effectively. Then orders our ICBM's to be dismatled even though they were not part of the SALT treaty. We have lots of enemies around the world but the biggest threat is in the White House.

Of course, Obama's foreign policy has been incredibly insane, but if I remember correctly, GWB's wasn't any better, and what's worse is he was alleged to be a right winger and a Republican on top of it. Let's face it, both Republicans and Dhimmicrats alike are incredibly incompetent today, which is why we treat jihad (holy war) like it's only terrorism, at the same time we also let millions of them invade us via mass Muslim immigration. This country is not only going down the toilet via Marxism, it's being sold out to Islam at the same time.

" they will be wary of placing their trust again in their unreliable former ally."

This is something I liked about George Bush. He stuck with the war through thick and thin.

Our allies understood it. but they also understand that a rock steady president can be replaced by a Santa Clause, "peace in our times" candidate.

So why ally with the U.S.?

It is much easier to beat swords into welfare benefits if you tell people that America has no enemies and the world is a safe and gentle place.

We are losing a cultural war.

Fundamentalists, as you note, are on the rise not because of our lack of military resolve. This is an internal decay within these societies driven by a rotting culture. We can’t fix their culture.

We can’t even fix ours. Our nation is in decay. The growth of paternalistic government is killing the economic machine that made our military might possible. Our children aren’t taught pride in our founding principles but shame for not being egalitarian and socialistic. The enemy’s culture, Islam, is presented in fairytale terms.
