I didn't (and don't know) how the "up thumb, down thumb" opinion slot works!!
Thinking that "those thumbs" wouldn't leave anything permanent, I tried it out
on my own article (speculating on the- "rating system"). I had NO INTENTION
of "down thumbing" my own article. I check out beforehand that what I write is
VERIFIABLY TRUE. I, too, care about our lifestyles and the direction in which
the nation seems to be going!! Thus, we MUST have information that is historically
correct and true ... not 'politics', propaganda even, or whatever you want to call it ...
from the 'left', OR from the 'right'!!! Readers are encouraged to make an honest
study, in depth if needed, to disprove any of my information.

-since 1967. That's interesting. Seems like Rome's "flirtation" with fascism' (1950s
and "Halcyon days") had pretty much died by then (-died in a major way with
death of Pius XII and installation of John XXIII, Vatican II, and a rapproachment
with Soviet Russia & co., not to mention surreptitious left-directed foreign aid to
communist dominated entities throughout Eisenhower administration ("The Vatican,
Moscow, Washington Alliance" and "Vietman, Why Did We Go??", all by author Avro
Manhattan, an authority on Vatican politics)). Then, you have the Justin Dewey
Fulton book, "Washington in the Lap of Rome", written in 1888 (not to mention
Charles Chiniquy's "Fifty Years in the Church of Rome" written in about the
same period -maybe little earlier). Abraham Lincoln became a good friend of
Chiniquy's. We're trying to 'connect threads'. That's just a few to underscore our
basic premise. Sorry for the lengthiness ... there's lots of information.

I know Baltimore pretty well, too. And we all know the real reason for the wasteland appearance in several neighborhoods, and it's got nothng to do with "Democrats." It's about blacks and their astounding propensity for crime. Why do you think "The Wire" (HBO) and "Homicide: Life on the Street" (NBC) each were set in Baltimore? Go to any white neighborhood in the city, even the working-class "ethnic" ones, and you'll find plenty of life and little crime. As for the black neighborhoods? You couldn't pay me enough money to drive through those areas, much less walk through them.

All that said, there is still plenty to love about "Balmer." And it's not just the Inner Harbor, Johns Hopkins or other places. Savor what's left of it before the Afros take it over completely.

BTW, Nancy Pelosi's father - Thomas Ludwig John D'Alesandro, Jr. - was a Baltimore mayor from 1947 to 1959. According to Wikipedia, he ran for governor of Maryland in 1954 until he was forced to drop out due to being implicated in receiving undeclared money from Dominic Piracci, a parking garage owner convicted of fraud, conspiracy, and conspiracy to obstruct justice. Never-the-less, he remained mayor of Baltimore until 1959. Yes, a city with a proud, rich, political history.

My work takes me to Baltimore frequently, and as the police told me many years ago, get your appointments scheduled between 8:30am and 11:30am, because the criminals generally sleep from 5:00am to 11:00am. There are a few decent restaurants but that's about it. Our current governor, former mayor Nanny O'Malley, campaigned on "successfully reducing crime in Baltimore", which was a huge lie.

We lived in Baltimore since the 1950's and had to move each time the neighborhood changed and crime increased. We must have moved around 8 or 9 times. Finally we moved to Baltimore County and when that changed we moved to Carrol County and finally out of the state completely. We do not miss Baltimore except for the fine memories of how it used to be in the 1950's. Back then we had beautiful stores downtown, hardly any crime, and no fear at night. Of course it was all white (but I can't say that).

And there was Gwynn Oak Park which was a great amusement park and then it was forced to integrate around 1964 and then had to close down. So much for Baltimore. I email friends and relatives who would love to get out but they cannot afford it right now. They stay out of downtown Baltimore completely.
