Tsarnaev, Hasan and Deadly Political Correctness

New York PrimariesOn Wednesday Dzhohkar Tsarnaev pleaded not guilty to 30 counts in the Boston Marathon bombings and jury selection began in the case of U.S. Army Major Nidal Hasan, accused of murdering 13 at Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009. The Hasan and Tsarnaev cases emerged the same day in testimony before the House Homeland Security Committee, where the first witness, Rudy Giuliani, said that political correctness hinders efforts to stop terrorists before they strike.

Guiliani, mayor of New York during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, told the committee “You can’t fight an enemy you don’t acknowledge.” To confront the terrorist threat effectively, “we have to purge ourselves of the practice of political correctness when it goes so far that it interferes with our rational and intellectually honest analysis of the identifying characteristics that help a discover these killers in advance.”

Giuliani said that a reluctance to identify violent Islamic extremists could have played a role in the FBI’s failure to track Tamerlan Tsarnaev, Dzhohkar’s older brother, who last year returned to Dagestan for six months. “There would have been a much greater chance of preventing Fort Hood, and possibly — and this I emphasize is possibly — the Boston bombing,” Giuliani said, “if the relevant bureaucracies had been less reluctant to identify the eventual killers as potential Islamic extremist terrorists.”

In the 2009 Ford Hood case, Major Nidal Hasan is charged with killing 13, more deaths than in the first attack on the World Trade center in 1993, a year before Giuliani became major of New York.

“The elevation of political correctness over sound investigative judgment certainly explains the failure to identify Maj. Hasan as a terrorist,” Giuliani told the committee. “That political correctness has been extended so far that the current administration describes his act as ‘workplace violence.’ This isn’t just preposterous. What we fail to realize is, this is dangerous.”

The next witness, Michael Leiter, former head of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center, denied that political correctness was hindering U.S. efforts against terrorism. Such a claim, he testified, “is simply beyond me.” No member of the committee asked Leiter to explain what dynamic might lurk behind the “workplace violence” explanation. Committee members did explore cases where government agencies had failed to communicate, particularly with local law enforcement.

The hearing was called to examine intelligence breakdowns in the Boston Marathon bombings, but any threat from Islamic extremism failed to emerge in the statement of ranking member Bennie Thompson. He cited the Southern Poverty Law Center about a growing domestic threat from right-wing groups.

That theme emerged in Challengers from the Sidelines: Understanding America’s Far-Right, a recent report from the Combating Terrorism Center at the U.S. Military Academy. The report links white supremacists, Aryan Nations, skinheads, the Ku Klux Klan and such with those who “espouse strong convictions regarding the federal government, believing it to be corrupt and tyrannical, with a natural tendency to intrude on individuals’ civil and constitutional rights. The groups also support civil activism, individual freedoms, and self-government.” As Mark Tapson noted, “that pretty much describes every conservative I know.”

Meanwhile, a military judge on Wednesday entered a not-guilty plea on behalf of Nidal Hasan, whose court martial trial is set to begin August 6. Also on Wednesday the New York Times reported mounting evidence that Tamerlan Tsarnaev, Dzhokhar’s older brother, participated in a gruesome 2011 triple murder in Boston. The bodies were discovered on September 12, 2001, a day after the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Victims Erik Weissman and Raphael Teken were Jews and some Jewish publications consider the murders a hate crime.

According to the Times reporters, some law enforcement authorities “contend that if the local murder investigation had been more vigorous it could have led to his [Tamerlan’s] apprehension well before the bombings left 3 dead and more than 260 wounded — in short, that the bombings might never have happened.”

Political correctness puts ideology ahead of common sense. They’ll never learn and others pay the price for it.

Barack Hussein Obama’s response to Giuliani: “I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear….”

Every conservative should print out a copy of the “report” that is mentioned in this article about “right wing terrorism.” It is one of the most chilling documents produced by the Regime that I have ever read. They have clearly put a target on the backs of what the Left perceives to be the biggest threat to their rule, namely, white/ Christian/ libertarian/ right wing/ conservatives. Funny how I didn’t see one mention of the Islamo-fascists that are actually out there killing people. This is all very disturbing.

    • ltcdmward

Now, the head of one of the prime users of that report is going to head the largest university system in the country to “educate future generations of leaders”.

Good riddance! She’ll do less damage in CA than in Washington DC!

She can’t damage an already broken UC system.

Is it just a coincidence that Big Sis is leaving the sinking ship just as the Zimmerman verdict is about to come down? What’s up with that?

Rudy is one of the best Mayors New York ever had. Look at the difference in him and Obama. One totally dedicated to law enforcement, making things better and being a great leader, while Obama’s goals are to break down and destroy.

So easy for mentally lazy professionally incompetent parasites like Bernie Thompson to bury his head in the sand pretending rather than do the real dirty work of fighting and opposing.

Communists did not originate PC. Those rules were imposed by the liberal establishment as I demonstrated here and everywhere on my website. See http://clarespark.com/2013/06/30/the-origins-of-political-correctness-2/. “The Origins of Political Correctness.” This was started in its current form in the late 1960s to prevent the ever-feared race riots.

Communism was/is a horrific system for which America had no problem having a cold war over. As bad as Communism is, Sharia law is ten times worse. There should be a freezing cold war for Islamic Sharia law. Only that’s not going to happen, seeing as Sharia law advocates have oil and money, that communism never had.

      • defcon 4

About the only positive thing I can see to Communism as opposed to islamofascism is that Communists treated women as equals, rather than chattel slaves.

Great article Lloyd. “You can’t fight an enemy you don’t acknowledge.” says it all. Our media, academia and elected representatives all have their heads in the politically correct sand. Muslims unfortunately should be treated like Nazi’s during WWII. Not one should be allowed in the military or government, all should be suspects and none should be allowed to immigrate to the United States. The non-citizens here should be deported on the smallest legal offense and those protesting or denouncing the United States must be treated as enemies and deported on a fast track. That is reality. If we don’t deal with this issue with this kind of fervor we will be sorry later — or at minimum our children and grand-children will be sorry. Our posterity will be the victims of what we could have and should have prevented.

It could very well be that the critics of islam0nazism today end up being enemies of the state in the not-too-distant future. After all, this is exactly what islam0nazis have been advocating for and carrying out in all their various islamofascist states.

Nice to see Guiliani point out the farce in Obama’s assessment that Fort Hood was “Workplace Violence”. I wish someone respectable like Guiliani would also point out that Obama is just another of a long line of American presidents who appease Islam’s ancient and backwards Sharia law, for Sheik graft.

The POTUS is not being politically correct in his appeasement Of Sharia law. The motivation to appease radical Islam comes from the rewards that will be received for covering up Sharia law. Our current Potus won’t even utter the words Sharia law, and he prefers most Americans remain uneducated as to its terrible treatment of women, it’s total intolerance towards any option to it, and that virtually all violent acts committed against America are perpetrated by its followers. If Americans don’t know the truth about Sharia, then The Potus will be free to take the money and run, after his term is done. Just Like Jimmy Carter who accepted millions in donations from sheik’s for his Carter Center.

The fix is in. These goobermint ‘heroes’ collect their pay and perks, produce essentially nothing, are unaccountable, and then bravely use government resources to intimidate and bully anyone who takes notice. And then when their sack of sorry excuses eventually runs out, they jump from one rotting goobermint ship to another (UC ‘University’ system) and start a new cycle of inflicting damage. This rot cannot be dealt with other than via physical excision.

    • ltcdmward

Yes. Napolitano states she’s going to the UC system for the purpose of “educating future generations of leaders”. Gag me with a spoon. A tablespoon. No. A spade shovel.

while far left terrorists in charge of our government scour the countryside, looking for that mythical “far right” terrorist, standard muslims are occupying our country.

“Michael Leiter, former head of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center, denied that political correctness was hindering U.S. efforts against terrorism.
Such a claim, he testified, ‘is simply beyond me.’”

And therein lies what is, under the Obama administration, an insurmountable problem. Despite tons of evidence connecting the Jihad, violent terrorist attacks, here and around the world, perpetrated in the name of Islam, under Obama, “Jihad” is equivalent only to inner personal struggles not violence or war. U.S. Government officials in national security related positions and senior military officers have been so well indoctrinated with this blatant falsehood that they find it far easier and more relevant to attribute these crimes to “right wing extremists” than to those shouting “Allahu Akbar” as they openly and self righteously butcher, rape and murder non-believers; men, women and children. The latter include the “right wing extremists” and these clueless individuals now guiding our national security efforts.

Rudy Giuliani is correct. An enemy undefined or unacknowledged, intentionally or otherwise, cannot be confronted much less defeated. If there is a God, pray He helps us.

  • ltcdmward

The most memorable part of the Mayor’s testimony was when he related the problem he had as a U.S. Attorney pursuing the Mafia to today’s failure to clearly name the enemy. He was told by superiors to not use the term “Mafia” to identify the organized crime group he was prosecuting because it offended a certain segment, Italian-Americans. Mayor Guiliani then said the loudest protesting Italian-American pressure group, it was learned, was backed by Joseph Columbo, head of New York’s (Mafia) crime family. The Mayor, however, continued to use the (correct) term anyway — Islamist Terrorists, oops, I mean Mafia.

The paleo-cons are more influencial these days. They are anti-trade and anti-illegal immirgation and anti-war and anti-jewish. They blame Shelton Addison for the softness on illegal immirgation since he is jewish. The KKK, and other groups that are neo-nazi’s are not too popular these days. The Paleo cons have several times the followers compared to white supremist groups like stromtroopers but since the paleo-cons are against free trade and anti-war the Obama adminstration is less interested in them.

eliminate islam, it is a cancer on the planet.

  • Ellman48

“…before the bombings left 3 dead and more than 260 wounded — in short, that the bombings might never have happened.”

Those who refuse to call Islamist atrocities by their right name appear to be indifferent to casualty figures. If they can ignore or deplore nearly 3000 deaths during 911 why would they care about 3 dead and 260 wounded in Boston? Many of us fail to understand that the forces sympathetic to Islamist murderers care little for the the horrors they commit. To them the United States itself is the Great Satan, the great criminal, the worst murderer and terrorist that ever existed on the planet. To them no one can possibly ever approach the scale of the atrocities committed by this nation and so their emphasis will always remain on vilifying the US and ignoring the brutality of Islamist savages. If we do not recognize or acknowledge the level of disdain that the Left has for this country we will never be able to defend it against their vicious and malicious assaults which have been ongoing for decades.

  • BS61

Even when I was a Dem, I realized the threat of Islam!

    • ObamaYoMoma

The truth is the Republicans are only slightly less incompetent when it comes to Islam than the Democrats, but it is indeed a very close race. Very close indeed.

  • ObamaYoMoma

Actually, Rudy Giuliani himself is also blinded to the hilt by political correctness. Otherwise, he would know by now after all these many years since 9/11 that Islam is not a so-called “religion of peace,” but instead a very aggressive and destructive totalitarian cult with the sole purpose of subjugating into Islamic totalitarianism all religions and all infidels via the imposition of Sharia, which is Islamic totalitarian law. Indeed, if he weren’t blinded to the hilt by political correctness, he would be leading the charge to get Islam in America outlawed and mass Muslim immigration along with all of its excess baggage, which is really stealth and deceptive non-violent jihad for the purpose of demographic conquest, banned and reversed. He would also be calling for the total abandonment and isolation of the Islamic world as well, but only after the Iranian nuclear program was annihilated and the Pakistani nukes were captured and destroyed as well.

  • herb benty

So, the SPLC declares the supposed threat from the Right is somehow to be drawing our attention during another Islamic attack on innocent Americans. The Unholy Alliance of Marxism with Islam continues to chip away on America. Isn’t Obama’s new America a real improvement. TheSPLC has probably noticed the mood of the people, that Americans are getting fed up with an anti-Western President who keeps hinting of a Fascist- type takeover of America. A revolution by a free people in that case is justifyable to maintain freedom….THAT, is probably what the SPLC is fretting about.
