The 4 Most Unhinged Responses to the Zimmerman Verdict

Mark Tapson, a Hollywood-based writer and screenwriter, is a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center. He focuses on the politics of popular culture.

racThe recent George Zimmerman acquittal drew predictable responses from the race-obsessed left: death threats directed at Zimmerman, his family and the jurors; protests with signs provided by and promoting Communist organizations; violence and vandalism; and of course community organizing by race hustlers Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson. But it also brought forth a few particularly irrational reactions. In no particular order of degree of insanity, here are four notably unhinged responses to the verdict, no doubt with more to come:

#1. “God is a white racist.” An online editorial declared that the Zimmerman verdict confirms that the Christian god not only hates blacks, but is actively walking around looking to shoot them:

As a black woman in a nation that has taken too many pains to remind me that I am not a white man, and am not capable of taking care of my reproductive rights, or my voting rights, I know that this American god ain’t my god. As a matter of fact, I think he’s a white racist god with a problem. More importantly, he is carrying a gun and stalking young black men.

Anthea Butler, who – and this will shock no FrontPage reader – is a professor of religion and Africana at the University of Pennsylvania, continued in that vein: “Their god is the god that wants to erase race, make everyone act ‘properly’ and respect, as the president said, ‘a nation of laws’; laws that they made to crush those they consider inferior.”

She’s partially right – the Christian god does want believers to treat people of all races equally and does want them to act properly and respect the law – but inexplicably, Butler considers that a bad thing. Apparently she would prefer a god that shares the left’s obsession with racial division and with mob lawlessness. She also seems confused about the fact that our laws were made not to “crush” the “inferior,” but to protect them.

Butler objects to “this pseudo-god of capitalisms [sic] and incarceration that threaten [sic] to take over our nation.” She goes on to claim that racism in America “has its underpinnings in Christianity and its history,” conveniently forgetting that the abolition of slavery and the civil rights movement have their underpinnings in Christianity and in American history. But of course, a balanced historical perspective is an undesirable quality in today’s academics, whose foremost specialty is always social justice.

#2. Boxer rejects the American flag: This doesn’t refer to Barbara “Call me Senator” Boxer, but to U.S. Olympic boxer Terrell Gausha, who began wearing the American flag in the 2012 London Games but was so disgusted by Zimmerman’s acquittal that he has vowed never to wear it again: “How can I wear my stars and stripes proudly in a country where they make a big deal out of Mike Vick fighting dogs, but not a young innocent black male’s life?” he asked in an interview.

If Gausha doesn’t think this country made a big deal out of Trayvon Martin’s death, then he’s taken one too many punches to the head. And sadly, America did not make a big enough deal of Vick’s sadism – not only does he make millions in the National Football League, but he even received a supportive call from President Obama, who also made a supportive statement on behalf of his honorary son Trayvon Martin, setting the stage for the racial hysteria surrounding the Zimmerman trial.

Gausha refuses to represent a “nation with so much racism and hatred.” In other words, he refuses to represent a nation where a jury of the accused’s peers came to a dispassionate decision based on the facts of the individual case, as opposed to one where lynchings are carried out to satisfy the progressive mob’s lust for violence.

#3. MLK in a Hoodie: Just when you think that the elevation of Trayvon Martin to sainthood can’t get any further out of hand, along comes this photoshop of Martin Luther King Jr. in a hoodie a là Trayvon, created by purported artist Nikkolas Smith and spread by Communist agitator Van Jones on Twitter. Like the Martin family attorney’s association of Trayvon with civil rights martyrs Medgar Evers and Emmett Till, this attempt to conflate him with MLK is a sickening insult both to MLK’s memory and to everyone who courageously participated in the real civil rights movement.

An agitated Alveda King, MLK’s niece, told radio host Andrea Tantaros, “I can almost promise you Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would not wear a hoodie.” But that’s irrelevant to leftists, who have a genius for creating false idols through iconic images (Ché t-shirts, anyone?).

#4. “Racism is our 9/11.” Like academics, MSNBC contributors are easy targets because they’re so transparent about their fact-free extremism; nevertheless Michael Eric Dyson deserves mention for his terrorism analogy for racism. His inarticulate rant peaks with this gem: “So, you know how you felt on 9/11? Yeah, that’s how we feel when it comes to race… Not until, and unless, the number of white kids die that approximate the numbers of black and other kids who die, will America see.”

I guess the delusional Georgetown academic Dyson isn’t aware that over 90% of black murders are committed by other blacks, and over 80% of white murders are committed by whites. Unlike our common enemy, Muslim fundamentalists, white Americans are not waging a race war on their fellow blacks.

Dyson went on to encourage Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder to take action:

[L]ook, the reality is you got to act now. The president, you won the second term. You’re in office. You are ensconced. Do something courageous, bold, and helpful. Not only to African American people, but to America. Because unless we do this, white Americans and others will feel that this was a justifiable verdict, this is how things happen.

Actually, if Holder and Obama take further action against Zimmerman, all rational Americans will feel that our government is determined to blatantly subvert our legal process to get the trial result it wants in order to push its agenda of racial payback and social justice.

Whatever your opinion on the Zimmerman acquittal, whatever your politics, irrational responses like these serve no purpose except to heighten the hysteria, exacerbate racial tensions, and push us further down the road toward violent civil war.

Raise a photoshop of MLK is a hoodie, and I’ll raise you a photoshop of Christopher Stevens in a hoodie:

    • Sheik Yerbouti

Brilliant! Maybe that’s all we need to find justice for victims of this administration, a hoodie!!!

  • OfficialPro

It’s too bad all of these lackalogic mental midgets don’t realize that the type of mob justice that saw black men hanging from trees in the South for no good reason other than KKK-ish depravity, is the same kind they want the people and the government to practice.

    • Moto

They’re starting to make the KKK look like the good guys.

      • Headed4TheHills

Now, Moto, that ain’t what happened at all. Lemme lay it down fer ya, as the race-baitin’ MSM / Jackson / Sharpton / Obammy crowd would have it anyway.

GZ (AKA Racist, Whitey pretendin’ to be Hispanic) kills TM in cold blood, for no reason other than ol’ GZ is a creepy-a$$ cracka who likes lil boys. Seein’ what he has done an’ wantin’ to protect himself, GZ fakes a 911 call, bribes witnesses, and proceeds to hurt himself (picture Jim Carrey in Liar Liar, “I’m kickin’ my own a$$.”). Then, instead of admitting to being Whitey, GZ says, “Uh-huh, I is Hispanic.” GZ also bribes a black girl to say she went to prom with him, a homeless black veteran to say GZ stuck up for him with the cops, and numerous black kids to say ol’ GZ is a “wunnerful guy what mentors us”.

See? It’s all GZ’s fault. If’n he hadn’t been such a racist, creepy-a$$ cracka who liked, well you know, with lil boys, none of this would have happened.

Or, if GZ had been black and TM white, why shoot, this here wouldn’t have even made the news in BFE. An’ fergit if both had been black. That wouldn’t even have made the news anywhere, ever, at all.

Moto and H.4 T.H., thanks for the grins…well done!! :D

      • tagalog

The denial of reality is even greater in some circles. I was listening to Michael Medved’s radio show the day before yesterday, and there was a black caller who denied that Zimmerman’s nose was broken (not that Trayvon Martin broke it, that it was broken at all) or that Zimmerman’s photographed injuries to the back of his head existed at all. Evidently the scenario for that guy was that Zimmerman just attacked Martin, gun in hand, just aching to kill a black person.

        • Seek

Blacks on radio call-in shows: A bad combination. They all can be counted to stick it to whitey.

          • tagalog

President Obama asked on Friday if Travon Martin could have “stood his ground” and shot George Zimmerman and been found Not Guilty. My reply to that would be “Yes, if George Zimmerman attacked Trayvon Martin, but I don’t call if an attack if someone is just following you.”

Much is made of black people being followed in stores and elsewhere. Well, guess what? I’m lily-white and I’VE been followed in stores and elsewhere too. So don’t think that happens only to black people. My wife is also lily-white and SHE’S been followed too. I don’t get mad about it. Jeez, get a life for God’s sake.

          • ziggy zoggy

You mean that we aren’t allowed to kill people who look at us? 3:)

        • herb benty

That’s what is on all the Lamestream media, that GZ stalked and killed TM, even AFTER the trial. Amazing.

      • spyeatte

I know, Zimmerman shot Martin for no reason. It made Martin so mad he beat-up Zimmerman before he died. That will be the left’s final default scenario.

  • Tan

The same situation like what happened to the writer of the Satanic Verses being threatened and had to go into hiding will eventually happen to Zimmerman. And it’s all the media’s fault for exploiting the lies. Pamela Geller was right to call them the enemedia.

  • cedarhill

It’s time. We should lobby Congress to create counterparts to the Black Caucus:
    -the White Caucus
    -the Hispanic Caucus
    -the Asian Caucus
    -the Native American Caucus
    etc. As well as:
    - the Muslim Caucus
    - the Catholic Caucus
    - the Protestent Caucus (and all sub-divisions)
    - the Aethist Caucus
and all other groupings and classifications any Federal Agency, State goverment, local government of NGO that exists.
Then, pass rules for each chamber that the members must meet with each of their Caucuses at least once a week. That should grind Congress to a halt. If not, then once a day.

Oh, McCain, Graham, Rubion, et all, can have their Gang of Eight Caucus. Actually, we’d have at least 400+ Caucuses right there.

    • trickyblain

How about the Shellfish Caucus? The Senate Afterschool Caucus? River of Trade Corridor Congressional Caucus? The Silk Road Caucus? The Minor League Baseball Caucus? All represented in our Capitol.

In terms of cultural groups, there are plenty of counterparts to the Black Caucus (including some of those you suggest):

      - Congressional Hispanic Caucus
      - Latino-Jewish Congressional Caucus (?!)
      - Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus
      - Congressional Czech Caucus
      - Congressional Croatian Caucus
      - Congressional Taiwan Caucus
      - Congressional Singapore Caucus
      - Congressional Serbian Caucus

      Etc., etc., etc…

All said, there’s over 300 caucuses on The Hill.

And a White Caucus? It’s named “Congress.”

      • ThomasER916

Straight to stupid. Didn’t even hesitate.

Whitey isn’t a monolithic voting block.

  • ElizabethMC

Where is obammy to make a speech calling for civility??
Instead, we have holder out fanning the flames that this verdict is unjust.
    Despicable people!!!!!

    • Headed4TheHills

Why, Elizabeth, you act like that would make sense. Don’t you realize it was never about Justice? For the Usurper in Chief and his drones, this was about another nail in the coffin of gun ownership (google his comments after the verdict). And for those like Sharpton, Jackson, and their fellow “We cain’t be Racists, cuz we is Black” racists, this was about revenge. Revenge for GZ killin’ TM, revenge for Whitey / The Man keepin’ a brotha down for so long, revenge for slavery.

      • ElizabethMC

Truth! And that doesn’t anger me as much as the msm does for not holding them accountable and for enabling them to get away with this.

      • herb benty

Revenge for slavery? The 100s of thousands of “whiteys” that died freeing slaves, Lincoln’s murder for emancipating the blacks, etc should be “Paid in Full” as far as I’m concerned. This slavery clap-trap is nonsense and simply communism in disguise. Leftist marxist professors hiding behind “racism”, “discrimination”, ad nauseum.

        • tagalog

No white effort to relieve the plight of black people is worthy of respect among blacks. Black people don’t distinguish between whites of good will and whites of ill will. All whites are a monolithic mass of anti-black murderous prejudice. If we whites had our way, there would be a new lynching every day. Blacks tend to hate all whites the same way they claim whites hate all blacks; that’s how they have familiarity with that feeling. Whites generally DON’T feel that way – that’s why we’re perplexed by the black hatred of whites, because we don’t really understand prejudice based on made-up stereotypes.

          • herb benty

Obama et al have resurrected “racism” as a vehicle to further their communist makeover of the USA, nothing more

          • mikeh420

A good example of that is how Eric Holder still would have the need to tell his 15 year old son to fear cops because they are all out to get young black men, as if it were still 1965.

            To paraphrase a Palestinian joke:

How many blacks does it take to change a light bulb?

None. They just sit in the dark and blame Whitey.

          • tagalog

Another good example are the two Obama used in his recent speech: blacks getting followed about in stores and President Obama walking down the street and hearing car doors lock. That last one is so egocentric that it’s nearly unbelievable. “I walked down the street and I heard the doors lock – they all were afraid of ME.” And Barack, loss prevention staff follow lots of people of all types and races – I’ve been followed in a store too, and I’m white.

After the Zimmerman case, I keep thinking about Jesse Jackson’s claim that he feels relief if he’s walking down the street and the group of people walking behind him are white instead of black – at last a bit of the truth from a black man.

          • ziggy zoggy

            Egocentric. And deliberately evil.

          • herb benty

The above drivel may apply to Al Sharpton, but cannot be a blanket description of all “blacks”. All humanity is of ONE blood, even the TYPES as the Bible says, differing amounts of melanin changes nothing. You sound like a race-hustler yourself, pitiful.

          • tagalog

So it applies to somebody, it can’t be COMPLETE drivel, right?

I’m perfectly willing to say that all humanity is of one race (“blood,” as you put it); it’s blacks who don’t see it that way.

          • ziggy zoggy

            Dude, settle down.

          • herb benty

We are past settling down, sonny.

          • herb benty

Blacks voted en masse for Jack Kennedy. Your ridiculously sweeping statements about All blacks this or All blacks that is wrongheaded in the extreme. Why don’t you follow Obama’s advice and squeeze all your bias out.

          • tagalog

When all blacks cease lumping all whites into one category of race haters, I’ll re-think the statements I have made. Until then, I think blacks should be the ones to squeeze their bias out.

Jack Kennedy made a point of avoiding issues involving civil rights. So did Bobby. They had absolutely nothing to say about the murders of Goodman, Schwerner, and Chaney, and there’s a real good reason the Civil Rights Act of 1964 didn’t get passed until after Kennedy was dead, and it has nothing to do with the Dixiecrats delaying things.

          • herb benty

I think I understand why you say the things you say. Many many blacks in those ridiculous rallies, the black panthers saying ” kill whitey”, etc., etc.sounds like many African Americans need to smarten up and “check their racism everyday”. I was just longing for a day when we are all united. We may have to unite against Islam. I said what I said because at some point we have to fix the damage Obama’s Dems have built. Thanks for your honesty though.

          • moneekwa

in this economy, most whites are far too concerned with finding work, feeding their kids, how in the hell can we afford college, not getting foreclosed on, and whether they can afford the “affordable” care now looming, to even THINK about blacks, let alone wasting any time or energy on hating them or “keeping them down”.

anyway, last i checked it’s a white-black in office keeping EVERYBODY down.

        • Headed4TheHills

Wow, y’all dun got ol’ Headed wrong. I am squarely agin’ the noise the anti-Zimmerman crowd is puttin’ out. My speech may be quaint and full of colloquialisms, but as a student of humanity and history, I know what they want but don’t agree with their desires. I wish ol’ Booth hadn’t shot Mr. Lincoln when he did. Then the full measure of Lincoln’s plan would have emerged. Dear Mr. Lincoln was all for freein’ the slaves, but he was also for returnin’ them to their native lands. Jus’ pack the whole flippin’ lot of ‘em back onto the boats, kids an’ all, and wave bye to ‘em from the docks.

          • herb benty

That is BS, Lincoln wanted to end slavery because his Bible said all people were equal, which he read everyday. Don’t blatantly lie old boy, I can see why you are” headed for the hills”

          • Headed4TheHills

Ah, Herb, ol’ Headed don’ lie. Tain’t kosher wit’ what the Good Book says. Don’t jus’ believe what the Libtard Indoctrination Centers tell ya (read: Public Schools includin’ those bastions of higher learnin’ colleges and universities). Do some diggin’ fer yerself in the books written before it became fashionable to hate whites and America. O’course, I don’ expect ya to believe me. An’ I don’t ask ya to. I ask ya to think and dig, and be informed befor makin’ an’ “informed statement’.

          • herb benty

Obama doesn’t think he lies either, after all, if there is no Ultimate authority you can say or do what you want.

          • Headed4TheHills

Friend Herb, I take exception to you comparin’ me with the Usurper in Chief. He is a Liberal Progressive of the lowest order. I, sir, am a Fundamentalist Pentecostal (no, not a snake handlin’ type). He lies with abandon an’ never admits when he is wrong (in his eyes he never is). I freely admit when I am wrong (which does happen, ya know). I was wrong when growing up and had Liberal tendencies. I was wrong to vote for Clinton. I was wrong to start this chain o’ back-and-forth with you (seein’ as nothin’ I say will convince ya). So, once again, I will tell you – I don’t ask you to believe me. I ask you to dig for the truth (which is out there). Believe you own findings. Now, you have a nice day.

          • herb benty

Headed4……Also don’t think we are opposites! And I agree on what you say mostly. I grew up with books like my Bible, stories about GW Carver and Abe Lincoln. I imagined old Abe as a Pentecostal like me, thats why I was shocked by what you wrote above about him. But heck, I cannot pretend to know everything either, I just know a commie when I see one(Olenin). If a real fight comes we would be on the same side. God bless.

          • Headed4TheHills

God bless ya, Herb. May He make His face to smile upon ya.

          • herb benty

            Thanks.

          • tagalog

Lincoln said that if he could preserve the Union by perpetuating slavery, he would do so.

Lincoln also agreed with the sentiment that sending the blacks in America to Africa to build their own nation without whites around would be a good idea.

He was partial to the ideas of Thomas Jefferson and other Founding Fathers that blacks did not have the intellectual power to be self-sufficient citizens of a self-governing nation, not without generations of education and acculturation.

As it turns out, it seems questionable as to whether whites have that intellectual power either.

          • herb benty

BS- you seem bent on sullying Lincoln anyway you can. Ya, he had 100s of thousands of whiteys kill each other so the slaves could be free, only to send them to Africa,or to make slavery permanent? Do you know that you aren’t even good at historical revisionism and what you said is disgusting about a great man and President?

          • tagalog

Probably MORE white: Zimmerman’s mother was mixed race – Barack’s father was all black.

Yes, it may negatively impact the environment, but it will feed the sharks, so it kinda balances.

One commentator remarked that the Zimmerman/Martin incident and the following prosecution stand for one principle: behave yourself. That’s the message in its entirety. Behave yourself. I guess that’s a racist principle.

    • Guy Fromage

Thomas Sowell documents the genesis of the black sub-culture which produces young men like Trayvon Martin, in his book Black Rednecks, White Liberals. The alarming irony of the “acting white” epithet, used by members of this sub-culture, is that they are part of a culture patterned on a dysfunctional white culture, imported from various regions of the UK.

      • OfficialPro

Yeah, the “chav” culture, which has something in common with some forms of southern redneck culture.

        • Guy Fromage

I am familiar with chav culture, but not it’s origins. It certainly wouldn’t surprise me if it and redneck/cracker/black urban culture didn’t have a common cultural ancestor, though. The inflated and fragile male ego, with females acting as an influence toward settling disagreements with violence, is certainly there.

          • OfficialPro

what they all have in common: Broken families and single motherhood. It’s the same roots as the “White Trash” Culture.

        • ziggy zoggy

Chavs are hilarious but I’m glad I don’t have to live next door to any.

  • ExposeNRidRacism

If we had fewer or no racist people, police officers, judges,
prosecutors, defense lawyers or politicians perhaps America’s priorities would
be more focused on the needs of ALL people. Some of our politicians can find
trillions to spend on unjust wars, but fall short on funds when it comes to
poverty and a QUALITY education or uplifting programs to include segments of
    people who are locked out.

“There is nothing more dangerous than to build a society with a
    large segment of people in that society who feel that they have no stake in it;
who feel that that have nothing to lose. People who have stake in their
society, protect that society, but when they don’t have it, they unconsciously
    want to destroy it.”

    Martin Luther King Jr.

    • OfficialPro

The very ones locking black children out of a quality education are the ones who scream loudest about how they’re the ones to fix education in general and that it’s really those wascally webubwicans who are destroying Education.

      • EarlyBird

You’re right OfficialPro. I’ll never forget during the 2000 Democratic Party Convention, over half of the delegates and people in the audience were professional public school educators. Gore got up to the podium and announced, “We’ve (Democrats) have been at the forefront of public education for the past 50 years!” As if it was something to be proud of.

I jump all over the dysfunctional right a lot on this site, and George W. Bush for his foreign policy, but I’ll give him a lot of credit: though No Child Left Behind was very imperfect it was a start in undoing the death grip that the Dems and public teachers’ unions have had on public education for generations.

        • Seek

No Child Left Behind was as much Ted Kennedy’s doing as George W. Bush’s. And it’s a lousy law, based on the assumption that aptitude doesn’t matter, only a school’s ability to “reach” a certain percentage of students.

          • EarlyBird

It forced accountability on schools, something they had successfully been able to dodge for generations. Like I said before, NCLB was “very imperfect.” But it got the conversation of public school reform started.

      • Seek

Blacks are the ones locking themselves out. “School choice” ought to mean choosing to learn. Black pupils have low IQs and a predisposition to skip school or use it as a 6-hour-a-day playground.

    • tagalog

You don’t understand; black people will tell you that race MUST be taken into account in all black-white encounters. They are the most race-conscious people I have ever seen, worse in that regard than the Japanese. Most people who have a cultural sore spot do what they can to heal that spot over; blacks continue to pick at the sore, doing all they can to keep it open and oozing. When the Irish and the Germans arrived here, they were treated badly, but they took the trouble to try to fit into the mainstream. Today, no one thinks of the Irish or the Germans as “different.” Not so blacks; they do all they can to perpetuate their perceived role as the put-upon of our culture.

    • CowboyUp

Anybody “locked out” today locked themselves out. They’ve rejected American culture and have used it only as a guide create their own anti-ethical culture. Trying to buy them off with money they didn’t earn is only perpetuating the problem and making it worse. We’ve blown over $15 trillion on government poverty programs to no effect, but creating a permanent welfare class where there was steady upward mobility.

    • Jsjk

About politicians who “fall short on funds when it comes to poverty and a QUALITY education or uplifting programs to include segments of people who are locked out.” Apparently you might want to re-read the “professor’s”, Anthea Butler’s, comments quoted in the first segment of this article (that’s under Number 1). Do you think Butler (an illiterate ignoramus) has been “locked out” of the Ivy League educational system? University of Pennsylvania is “Ivy League”. (As I laugh — actually, I believe a cogent argument can be made that given the “quality” of her “thoughts” she should have been “locked out.” The tragedy is that too many of these simpletons acquire unearned academic positions which only damages the institution for which they represent).

Of course, idiot. Similar to the humanitarian ways black people were treated in America after being stolen from Africa.

          • tagalog

Yes, of course you would bring up slavery, the ultimate morally validating non-sequitur.

          • FinallytheTruth!

er . . . excuse me, idiot! but blacks were NOT “stolen” from Africa — they were PURCHASED, BECAUSE they were SOLD TO the “White Man” (& hence, simply transferred from ONE slavery, to another) by their BRETHREN, the OTHER African blacks. So shove it up your @$$, moron!

        • OfficialPro

oh so you’re an anti-semite eh? Protip: being an anti-semite is as bad as being anti-black.

Just to add to that, many Jews feel a certain solidarity with black Americans due to the fact that Jews were once enslaved too. But of course only BLACK slavery counts for blacks.

“Not until, and unless, the number of white kids die that approximate the numbers of black and other kids who die, will America see.” – Michael Eric Dyson This is where all the overheated rhetoric is going.

If America, our system and our culture were inherently racist and persecuting Black people, a place where “it’s okay for white people to hunt down and murder black children,” and “open season on innocent African Americans,” then America, our system and our culture is evil and must be fought and destroyed, and it’s fair and just, or at least understandable and forgivable to do those things to white people.

That’s what I see between the lines when I see these kinds of statements. The msm is going along for ideological/political reasons, and also just because it and the violence spawned by it gets people to tune in to the news and buy newspapers. The msm and the one’s saying these things know exactly what they are doing. It’s obvious because the msm goes to absurd lengths to keep from inflaming white people this way, and American’s in general against foreign enemies. It should be called out for what it is.

    • tommyrot

As a long time observer of the American scene I remember when Blacks were attempting to assimilate into the general culture with a great deal of White help. MLK reflected this trend. After 1965 and the Great Societ it became more profitable to be a “Black Victim” than a White-world integrationist and hating open-handed Whitey became an important element of the Black sub-culture. Instead of helping Blacks arrive at an equal level with the Whites, Blacks pulled down other Blacks and declared an open season on Whites. Race relations were on a descending spiral when the Head Racist in Charge and his minion, Holder, took over and between themselves and among their racist supporters vowed a war of revenge. “It ain’t your country no more” was a them expressed by a number of Blacks. It was OK to stand at a voting place with a club in your hand threatening Whites. Equal justice under the law became a dirty phrase. Black on White crimes have increased. White people, like myself who were once willing to help Blacks assimilate, have backed off in alarm and disgust. When Black racists call for war on Whites, I’ve cowboyed up (if that means purchased guns and ammunition and gone to firearms training) and am prepared to defend myself. So much for Obama, the Great Society, and race relations.

      • CowboyUp

I’m old enough to remember when that was still often the case, and saw the change early on (born in ’66) in school. I’ll continue keep my firearms clean, loaded, and handy, and continue to judge people as individuals. I know a lot of Black people who disdain gangsta culture, and hate what it’s doing to Black people as a group. That’s where I got the phrase “selling your freedom and dignity for chump change.”

        • tagalog

You probably remember Black Nationalism and “Black is Beautiful.” They went from celebrating blacks in a more-or-less legitimate (or at least defensible) effort to raise black self-esteem to black navel-gazing and solipsism. That was happening even while Martin Luther King Jr. was still alive.

It was quite an experience for white folks of good will to undergo the black rejection of white mainstream support; when I went through it, it seemed like the blacks were deliberately consigning themselves to permanent second-class status. But since that black trend involved calling whites vile names (just as most non-black Americans were becoming conscious of how vile it was to use terms like “n*gg*r”), some of us just decided we were done with that.

After all, how much s**t is one willing to eat just to register as right-minded?

    • 57nomad

For Michael Eric Dyson (should he ever chance to read this), share your thoughts about this incident:

“Authorities say the Cincinnati-area man who was badly beaten by six teens almost a year ago in a
      Cincinnati suburb has died.

Pat Mahaney, 46, died yesterday in the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, said Julie
Wilson, spokeswoman for the Hamilton County prosecutor’s office.

The six teens, all 13 or 14, injured Mahaney in August and told police they did it because
they were bored and looking for something to do.”

Here is the link to the entire story:

Black kids are dying at the hands of other black kids almost exclusively and you know it.

      • Seek

What about whites dying at the hands of black kids? Or is voicing such a concern “racist?”

        • 57nomad

Unquestionably, you would be labeled a racist by the first brickheaded liberal you came across.

    • tagalog

I think it’s doubtful that blacks will EVER kill whites in numbers that approximate the number of killed blacks.

Leaving white folks to stew in a self-applied marinade of guilt over slavery, racial stereotyping, and segregation is far too materially rewarding for them to want to kill Whitey.

  • Common Sense

For those who feel unfairly “profiled”, Ann Coulter has some simple (and rational) advice: “To avoid looking like a criminal, don’t commit a crime.”

    • Harley Rummel

      • maximo12

attacking someone with a gun. He acted stupidly.

Are you completely unaware of the events? Or are you drinking the MSNBC et all koolaid?

      • Profit

According to your logic, if someone is following you, it’s completely acceptable and reasonable to violently assault them and smash their skull repeatably onto concrete, but they dare not defend themselves!

        • Harley Rummel

And 26 people agree with you? Amazing. So I’ll say it again: the only evidence that Martin struck first is the the testimony of a man facing a possible sentence of 30 years and who has been shown to be a liar over and over again.

          • Todd Hill

The girlfriend, Rachel Jeantel, confirmed Martin initiated the confrontation. I guess you weren’t paying attention.

          • spyeatte

The physical evidence says Martin struck first. Additionally, Zimmerman’s past indicates he was not physically aggressive and was a lousy fighter. Martin on the other hand had a reputation and the skills for fighting – he was a hothead.

          • ziggy zoggy

Widdle Twayvon didn’t have a mark on him, except for the bullet hole that improved humanity. His pants were wet from the knees down because he was straddling Zimmerman and pummeling him to death. F*** you up your brain dead left-wing @$$. Deep up in ya.

        • tagalog

Saturday’s Justice for Trayvon Martin demonstrators thought that Martin would have been justified if he had shot Zimmerman while Zimmerman was following him in his car.
That’s why they were mad that Zimmerman wasn’t convicted of Murder 2 or Manslaughter.

        • Harley Rummel

How many times do I have to say this: there is no testimony or evidence that Martin threw the first punch!

          • Profit

Why would Zimmerman start a fist fight after calling the police? There is no incentive to do that! It’s obvious that it was Zimmerman who was repeatably crying for help when he was on the floor getting his head smashed. Trayvon was suspended from school at the time for assaulting his bus driver!

          • tagalog

Where’d the broken nose come from? Where are the bruises or marks on Trayvon Martin from getting punched?

      • CowboyUp

Going through a burglary-plagued neighborhood on foot and peering into windows might tend to arouse a sensible person’s suspicions, don’t you think?

        • Harley Rummel

Walking home “on foot” is suspicious? Would it have been not suspicious if he had levitated home? Or maybe been blond haired, freckled, blue-eyed and white?

          • Todd Hill

I guess you can look at someone in the dark and be able to tell they are just “walking home” while on someone else’s property, huh? Too bad it wasn’t you instead of Zimmerman, Martin might still be alive.

          • spyeatte

Of course Harley would have been beaten to death.

          • spyeatte

It would have helped, plus carry an umbrella.

          • tagalog

Walking home on foot may be suspicious when the walker can walk home in ten minutes, but takes 40 minutes and still isn’t there. Some folks speculate that the THC found in Trayvon Martin in his autopsy came from his making a “blunt” after his visit to the 7-Eleven, so he could break the criminal law by getting high on a controlled substance.

Given that the recent rash of thefts and burglaries in the complex had been committed by black youths, Mr. Martin had no reason to feel singled out improperly when his dawdling got him an extra look.

      • Seek

        How about assault and battery?

        • Harley Rummel

Might I suggest that there is no evidence of such an assault — i.e, of Martin throwing the first punch — other than the word of a demonstrable liar?

          • Todd Hill

Wrong again. The evidence supports that Martin attacked Zimmerman. The girlfriend corroborated Zimmerman’s testimony. Pay attention so you don’t seem completely clueless.

          • spyeatte

There is only that evidence and no other. Martin attacked Zimmerman first – you can’t get closer to a sure thing than that conclusion.

          • OfficialPro

This is why Reasonable Doubt™ exists.

          • tagalog

That would be the UNCONTRADICTED word…

          • moneekwa

oh, that, and forensic evidence that trayvon had no sign of injury except skinned knuckles and a gunshot wound. so it would appear if zimmerman hit him, it was very, very, softly, so as to leave no evidence whatsoever. that kind of rules out ANY type of punch.

          • Harley Rummel

Martin’s knuckles were NOT skinned. There was a scratch mark on the bottom-side of the second finger of his left hand.

      • tagalog

He assaulted a person without cause, and while he was assaulting the person, he was making death threats. The assault is the crime of Assault (Third Degree), and the death threat is probably the crime of Harassment. He was also committing the crime of Fighting. He may have been committing the crime of Trespass to Private Property. When Martin doubled back to attack Zimmerman, he was committing the crime of Stalking.

      • spyeatte

He attacked Zimmerman – it is called assault and battery.

      • ziggy zoggy

He wad pummeling somebody to death for daring to look at him. What part of that do you not undetstand, you unmitigated rscist @$$hole?????

  • 57nomad

The left wing hate machine was cranked up originally due to Zimmerman’s last name and got wrong footed the day his photo was released and they never really recovered. They sank so low as to refer to him as a ‘white Hispanic.’ This is odd because that same racial equation would render Obama as a ‘white African-American,’ wouldn’t it?

It made a ‘whole society’ issue out of a man defending himself from a bully. But here is something most of you would never have heard about if I hadn’t posted it here. Tell me, in view of the aftermath of Martin/Zimmerman, what your thoughts are on this:

“Authorities say the Cincinnati-area man who was badly beaten by six teens almost a year ago in a Cincinnati suburb has died.

Pat Mahaney, 46, died yesterday in the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, said Julie Wilson, spokeswoman for the Hamilton County prosecutor’s office.

The six teens, all 13 or 14, injured Mahaney in August and told police they did it because they were bored and looking for something to do.”

Here is the link to the whole story: http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2013/07/13/Man-beaten-by-bored-teens-dies-1-year-later.html

Here the criminals were the same age or younger that Martin, they were all black, the victim was white, and the reason for the beating is that they thought it would be entertaining to beat a white man to death. Where is the outrage? I’ll tell you where. Nowhere, that’s where and I’ll tell you why. Remember the first reaction to the Boston bombing, “Don’t lash out against muslims” it’s a religion of peace.” The reaction to this beating; complete national silence, it’s a local thing indicative of nothing. But Martin, oh that’s different, all white society is full of racial guilt and needs to be shamed and punished.

Are we living in an age of information or propaganda and ceaseless indoctrination?

    • Nan

My mom worked in a day treatment program for the chronically and persistently mentally ill. One of her work stories was the black guy who sang a song one day; she retired in 1998 so it was probably a mid-90′s occurrence. The song? ‘What choo gonna do when you’ve got nothing else to do? Kill whites. Kill whites.’

      • Sunday

You did say she was “chronically and persistently mentally ill”, so what else is new? Dang!

        • tagalog

No; that’s incorrect. Nan said her mom worked for those who were “chronically and persistently mentally ill,” not that SHE was chronically and persistently mentally ill.

It really is a good idea, if you’re going to comment on what other people say, to read what they’ve said so you actually get it, instead of holding forth like an irrational person just looking for an opportunity to rant and vent your spleen.

Maybe this kind of disconnect between subjective feeling and objective reality is the foundation phenomenon for the black-white disconnect we currently see with regard to the workings of the criminal justice system.

          • Sunday

Sorry, my mistake. I was referring to the black guy who was mentally ill (mistype ‘she’ instead of ‘he’). Your last paragraph clearly shows your inferior mind set, that’s all.

          • tagalog

Black people can’t be mentally ill. They are the oppressed and they suffer from the categorizations forced upon them by the oppressor.

  • Judy Reinhardt

People don’t seem to understand that a government that can do it for you, can do it to you. We are seeing very tyrannical expressions regarding a case which should never have been more than a local issue. What I see now is others pushing a social agenda while standing on the dead body of Trayvon Martin. This is becoming so very disrespctful to all involved.

  • http://shugartpoliticalaction.shugartmedia.com/uncommonsense/ Chris Shugart

It would appear that Charlie Manson was merely a political activist ahead of his time. His conspiracy theory “Helter Skelter” race war scenario looks like it may be coming to fruition. The Left will gladly throw fuel on the fire and fan the flames as they’re the only ones who could possibly benefit from such a conflict.

    • CowboyUp

That thought has occurred to me several times over the last few weeks. He must be real thrilled about now, and a little jealous of al sharpton and malik shabazz.

    • Drakken

The problem with the leftist fanning the flames and adding fuel to the fire is that it will consume them as well, I call it suicidal tendencies.

      • tagalog

The leftists will go first. Blacks reserve their most virulent hatred for the people who they perceive to be hypocritical about race. That’s the (non-black) people who claim to be their friends.

Some years ago, I worked in a black-dominated workplace. This was during a period when blacks began moving back down South from the North, back in the 1970s; I heard over and over again about how my black fellow workers could take being hated outright by the bubbas, but how they chafed over the hypocrisy of the Northern whites, who were just as racist but who hid it under a thin veneer of civility and phony sympathy.

    • EarlyBird

      • http://shugartpoliticalaction.shugartmedia.com/uncommonsense/ Chris Shugart

Too bad indeed. Perhaps in Florida, Tate and her Hollywood friends might have been armed and could have “stood their ground” against a group of invading psychopaths. Of course, then Tate might have been up on charges for killing an innocent hippie songwriter who only wanted to make a hit record.

If you are not Fillipino and using ‘Tagalog’ as your profile name, what does that say about you? Aside from your hate-filled brain and deceitful mind (judging from previous nonsense you have written), I guess you are also suffering from some type of identity crisis. I am black, not ‘claiming to be black’, you inferior specie of the human race. You are beneath me, so better to just ignore you.

          • tagalog

Why is it important that I use the profile name Tagalog but am not Filipino? Is that a race thingie, or is it linguistic? Do I have to walk a mile in Filipino shoes before using that term? My inferior mind seeks to understand. With your superior sensibilities, no doubt inborn due to race, please help enlighten me.

          • Sunday

You still don’t get it: By using Tagalog (the
basis of Filipino) as your profile name, you are either ashamed of who you are, or presenting a fake front so that readers will think you are of Filipino stock and then write all sorts of hateful rant (as you have done so far), as a ‘Filipino’.
Either way, you a dishonest human being (if you are really human, that is).
When I refer to you as an inferior specie (yes, correctly

      Ah yes. The standard formulation:

      *Yawn*

      • EarlyBird

Uh huh. The response to the Zimmerman verdict by the protestors is wrong, and the four outlandish responses pointed to in this latest piece of propaganda are outlandishly wrong.

On the other end of the scale is FPM, which stokes the fires of white, right wing, “Christian” and Jewish paranoia and resentment by hyperventilating over the outrageous, and not providing any insight to the underlying issue.

Stay comfortable gobbling up your red meat, Guy. It’s why you come here.

        • Jsjk

Oh brother. Does the bird ever introspect? Or is it all projection? You know, for some here, you do sound like you’re hyperventilating (btw, that doesn’t bother me — it’s Free Speech) what does annoy me is that typically you start name calling in your, apparently, “enraged” state. Is calling posters “whities” erudite?) So, stop with the notion of your own superiority, ok? It doesn’t pass the smell test.

          • EarlyBird

When did I ever suggest I was superior?

I regularly confront my own assumptions, and engage in debate – even on this site on the rare occasion that any actual thinking is evident.

I read all sorts of stuff, including things that make me uncomfortable, as well as things that don’t have an intentional partisan slant. Partisanship on both sides is killing our politics, and it has ruined my once beloved GOP. This may surprise you, but I’ve been a life-long registered Republican.

What changed? The George W. Bush years, followed by the embrace of Sarah Palin, among other things. I’ve seen that once-great conservative movement has deeply deteriorated and needs to be rebuilt. That is evident on this site.

I don’t go and fight on lefty sites. My job is to rebuild my side.

          • Jsjk

I assume that when you criticize Frontpage Magazine for simply being noxious and “stoking fires” without “providing any insight to the underlying issue”, that (clearly?) you believe it is your duty to offer a counterweight which, by implication, would be “superior” to the mindless drek FP offers. Correct? Or do you believe your commentary to be inferior to a FP article? (On another matter, I wanted to note that in the current article, Number 3, MLK in a hoodie — I am old enough to remember Martin Luther King, and I found the depiction of MLK utterly offensive, derogatory, obscene — akin to defamation of MLK’s character. And who did this obscenity? It was not some back-street nobody, some nameless piece of trash. It was Van Jones. The 9/11 Conspiracy monger, and yet another Obama appointee! (Thankfully kicked out). (In 2009 Time Magazine listed Van Jones as among the top 100 most influential people in America. Now that, for me, indicates just how far the rot has extended.

” . . . It was not some back-street nobody, some nameless piece of trash. It was Van Jones.”
Translation: it was a piece of trash WITH a name!

On the other end of the scale is FPM, which stokes the fires of white, right wing, “Christian” and Jewish paranoia…

Yes, this is the typical reaction from one who is incapable of addressing his own bigotries, and can’t abide when they are trodden on.

Stay comfortable gobbling up your red meat, Guy. It’s why you come here.

You sure can’t seem to step away from the buffet.

He dumbo zimmerman is about as white as obama is, as in Zimmerman is not white. So yes we are angry at the anti-white media for once again bashing there favourite scapegoat.

  • Drakken

Just wait until when one of those stirred up angry black mobs start trying to rampage in a white neighborhood, they will find out real quick that whitey don’t play and didn’t just roll over when the race card was played. You progressive leftists are driving out your white base.

  • 1proactive2

Okay, according to the assorted lefties in the article, can someone get the word to the illegal Mexicans running across our borders that we’re a hopelessly racist country that will cause them great harm? Maybe that will stop the hemorrhaging of feral Hispanics bent on living of U.S. taxpayers while they actively engage in the criminal life. Really, warm them now before it’s too late.

Such is my foolish thought for the day.

    • OfficialPro

not only that, warn them that the “feral black” gang members will kill them.

  • ratonis

    We are slouching toward Zimbabwe.

  • irish7_1sg

The Main Stream Media will continue to feed the fire of racism. All these liberal scumbags are hell-bent on the destruction of this free country, and HOPE to CHANGE the nation into a Socialistic utopia where minorities rule, wealth is cross leveled and the white Westerner is punished.

  • redstone357

none of it surprises me…I have been saying for years that blacks are racist beyond what Whites are willing to accept. And now they are showing they are pathologically racist and unable to reason. Personally I think it is because blacks who do not embrace White, western culture are simply not equipped mentally to deal with reality. 250 years of civilization is simply not enough to overcome the thousands of years of first stage development. They are basically still savages, but again most Whites will be unwilling to accept this truth.

  • GeorgeW

Watch out Y’all, the “White God” they are talking about will be replaced by the “Islamic Scourge” Who do you think the NBP affiliated with?
Could happen, then they will begin getting support from all the “refugees” coming trained to fight from war torn middle east and north Africa countries, Somalia, etc.

  • ConradCA

The only reason that this incident became such a big deal is that Tyrant Obama and the progressive fascists used it to trick blacks into supporting him 110% in the 2012 election. They told a story of a little black child murdered by a racist white person on his way home from buying candy. They used this story to prey on the racism and fears of blacks. This story was an evil lie, but it worked because of black racism and hatred.

  • tagalder70

Zimmerman was perhaps guilty of manslaughter so don’t whiewash this guy. This whole episode was not about race, it was about two guys getting into a fight. Now the timing of the shot is very key to whether ZImmerman feared for his life or he was pissed off at having the crap kicked out of him by a 17 year old.

    • tagalog

The fact is that nobody’s whitewashing Zimmerman. The fact is that the black grievance industry and their white procurers are blackwashing Zimmerman by mis-stating the facts of the case.

To hear their side of the Zimmerman-Martin case is to hear about a non-black guy hunting down a black child who is just walking down street and gunning him down without any cause whatever. The fight, the broken nose, and the pounding of the head on the sidewalk are ignored. It was just a gun-crazy racist killer stalking and killing a little lamb.

It’s almost funny to watch the black grievance lobby libel and slander George Zimmerman racially and then claim that white people are supporting white racism.

Does this Obama character, indeed, Eric Holder the Attorney General of the United States have any legitimacy in the eyes of everyday working Americans? Surely not. America beware, the Trojan Horse is already through the gates.

  • Seek

Never trust a black to define “justice.” And for God’s sake, fellow whites, don’t join these “Justice for Trayvon” rallies. The whole thing is Al Sharpton-directed. The more these rallies reveal themselves to be exercises in collective black revolt, the less credibility they will have.

  • CurmudgyOne

The reactions in the article, and that of Obama and others prove the racial problem comes from the black side. I don’t pretend to know how they feel, but it is obviously such a strong feeling, rooted in years of hating whitey, that they cannot be swayed bo logic, justice, facts, or anything else.

  • Jerry G

What seems to have been overlooked in this case was that Martin by pounding Zimmerman’s head against the concrete could have killed or badly disabled him.
Why the sympathy for Martin? Zimmerman did what he did to protect himself against death or serious injury.

These wackos and their followers, deserve their own country – somewhere, but not here. Then they would be free to devolve into absolute tribalism and all the joys that would bring.

most democreaps and blacks are ashamed of the American flag anyway you do not see many American flags around democraps or blacks

  • tagalog

You’re right, and it’s true for blacks too. That’s why it’s so easy for blacks to lump all whites together without having to spend the time making distinctions.

Admittedly, that’s during the rare times when the issue of race relations pops up in our ordinary life circumstances.
