Exploiting Tragedy

US Shooting Military BuildingAfter a gunman calmly murdered 12 people at the Washington Navy Yard yesterday, the Left began trying to exploit the Navy employees’ deaths to advance its never-ending campaign to disarm law-abiding citizens.

The FBI identified the shooter, who was killed in a gun battle with police, as Aaron Alexis, 34, of Fort Worth, Texas. A civilian military contractor who was reportedly a practicing Buddhist at one time, Alexis received a general discharge from the Navy Reserve in 2011 after a shooting incident in his home. A general discharge usually indicates a problem in a serviceman’s record. He was previously arrested in Seattle 2004 after shooting out the tires of a vehicle.

During the assault around Building 197 in the military installation near the Washington, D.C. Nationals ballpark, Alexis used a shotgun, handgun, and an AR-15, the same kind of rifle used by Adam Lanza in the Newtown, Conn., elementary school massacre in December.

As with elementary schools and other “gun-free” zones, perpetrators know they can carry out mass shootings at military bases because the personnel there have been disarmed.

As the Washington Times previously reported,

Among President Clinton’s first acts upon taking office in 1993 was to disarm U.S. soldiers on military bases. In March 1993, the Army imposed regulations forbidding military personnel from carrying their personal firearms and making it almost impossible for commanders to issue firearms to soldiers in the U.S. for personal protection. For the most part, only military police regularly carry firearms on base, and their presence is stretched thin by high demand for MPs in war zones.

Aaron Alexis, who was reportedly not even a good shot, still managed to pick off two dozen human targets, aided by President Clinton’s inexplicable weapons ban. Similarly, a few years ago Major Nidal Malik Hasan mowed down military personnel at Fort Hood, killing 13 people.

But common sense is lost on leftists who don’t seem to understand that taking away guns makes Americans less safe.

U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), author of the now-expired 1994 assault weapons ban, said the Navy Yard shootings that took place about a mile from the U.S. Capitol constituted proof that Congress is “shirking its responsibility” in the gun control debate.

“This is one more event to add to the litany of massacres that occur when a deranged person or grievance killer is able to obtain multiple weapons — including a military-style assault rifle — and kill many people in a short amount of time. When will enough be enough?” Feinstein asked.

Earlier this year the Senate killed a plan to expand background checks on firearms buyers, along with a fresh assault weapons ban sponsored by Feinstein.

Other left-wing ambulance chasers were quick off the mark.

Before the facts were known President Obama weighed in on the atrocities, hoping to use the deaths to push more unconstitutional gun control schemes. “We’re confronting — yet another — mass shooting,” he said. “And today it happened on a military installation in our nation’s capital.”

Obama, of course, is a devout ideologue who doesn’t believe Americans should be allowed to own guns. He’s a longtime supporter of gun confiscation but when he started running for president he began claiming to be a supporter of the Second Amendment in order not to scare away moderate voters. He has Freudian-slipped from time to time. In his first presidential campaign he mocked small-town Americans as “bitter” people who “cling to guns or religion,” paraphrasing Saul Alinsky’s ugly attacks on ordinary Americans.

Emily Miller argues in the Washington Times that Obama is scare-mongering. Although any loss of life is a tragedy, mass shootings “are not a cause for increased alarm.” Many more Americans are killed in non-mass shootings and in gun accidents.

A recent report by the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service (CRS) stated that “there have been 78 public mass shootings in the last 30 years that claimed 547 lives.” This works out to 18 victims per year or a tiny fraction of all murders by firearms in America.

According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the U.S. does not even have a particularly high murder rate compared to other nations. In 2011, the U.S. had an intentional homicide rate of 4.7 per 100,000 population, placing it roughly in the middle on the list of nations of the world.

Honduras had the highest intentional homicide rate (91.6) and Monaco the lowest (0.0). The rates for a sample of other countries are as follows: Jamaica (40.9); Mexico (23.7);

Russia (10.2); Philippines (5.4); India (3.5); Finland (2.2); Canada (1.6); Australia (1.0); and Singapore (0.3).

But Obama is nothing if not a salesman. Instead of focusing on the 8,583 murders committed using firearms (in 2011), the president “focuses on the rare mass shootings because the uncontrollable and random nature of them are more frightening to the public, which is politically helpful for him to push his gun-control agenda,” writes Miller, author of the new book, Emily Gets Her Gun.

Within hours of the massacre, erstwhile conservative David Frum wrote a tasteless screed urging more gun control. After lamenting the successful recall by voters of two gun-grabbing state lawmakers in Colorado last week, Frum pontificated that, “America’s uniquely grisly record of gun death cannot be addressed without addressing guns.” He also ascribed sinister motives to gun owners, accusing them of working to maximize future body counts.

In Frum’s view there is no reason to wait to discuss “mass casualty shootings, such as that which just occurred in the Washington Navy Yard.”

The historic military facility, he writes,

now joins the long roll of place names indelibly associated with massacre and grief: Columbine, Virginia Tech, Newtown. I write on the day of the killing. Gun enthusiasts say it is inappropriate to talk about gun violence at the time it occurs. Better to wait … and wait … and wait … until time has passed, and the weeping next of kin have vanished from TV, and it’s safe to return to business as usual. The idea of the gun enthusiasts is that the way to show respect for the victims of gun violence is to do everything possible to multiply their number.

But why are there so many mass shootings at public institutions such as the schools Frum names? Because they’re so-called gun-free zones. They’re magnets for psychotic mass murderers who know they get the most bang for the buck by preying on the defenseless. The way to give students and teachers a fighting chance against aspiring homicidal maniacs is to give teachers, or at least school security guards, guns.

The shooting spree yesterday came the week after al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri called for Muslims to carry out small-scale attacks “here and there” inside the U.S. “We should bleed America economically by provoking it to continue in its massive expenditure on its security,” he said, “for the weak point of America is its economy, which has already begun to stagger due to the military and security expenditure.”

At press time, it was unclear what motivated Aaron Alexis to carry out the attack. Washington, D.C., mayor Vincent Gray said there was no evidence that what transpired yesterday was a terrorist attack but that investigators are not ruling out the possibility.

This is total BS. What your Government is trying to do is what my countries Government (Australia) had done. Take away your weapons.

    • http://subversioninc.com Matthew Vadum

      • Drakken

Let me translate for you Matt. He said that Australia did the same thing that Comrade Obummer is trying to do, confiscate all weapons.

        • Aussie

          Exactly! Thanks mate.

        • Hass

Hehehe… Accentuated just nicely. Thanks mate.

I was just wondering, are you from the UK or Aus?

          • Drakken

Actually Hass I am a 1st generation American, of Prussian/Austrian descent. I have served and worked with Aussies and Brits for a very long time so I do understand how they write and speak which to the average American might get lost in translation.
            G’day Mates! ;)

          • Hass

That’s awesome. Good to meet you Drakken:)

    • Aussie

      G’day Hass,
I remember that, it was the Howard Governments dream come true. Those arse holes were always against anything Guns.

So yeah mate,I’m with you on what that Muslim Groid President is trying to do. He’s using mass murders committed by lunatics as a platform to disarm the US, just like they did here. It really sucks being a gun less society.

  • adumbrate

Why can’t conservatives win this basic logical argument? You brand yourself as ‘gun-free’ – you brand yourself as target. There is no common sense in the gun control debate – the left makes it all emotion and thus win by enlarging govt control over our freedom to defend ourselves. 12 souls die in vain – by ignorance.

    • http://subversioninc.com Matthew Vadum

Not following you. This is an issue on which the Left has been getting creamed in recent years, at least on the national level. They scream and whine but only end up getting new restrictions on gun ownership and use in a few places like Colorado and New York.

  • kT TK

This is about the lack of jobs for inner city folks, guys. A GOLDMINE for Republicans! Buried in his story was the fact that the shooter could not find a job to support himself. Most jobs are going to immigrants, NOT to inner city folks. Does the terrible job market underlie the escalating inner city violence??? Stop all immigration until all citizens have jobs!!!

  • Ed Shick

He uses any thing he can to take away our guns had someone had a Gun it might have ended much sooner, We know there are nuts with Guns and we have to have a way of stopping them1

    • Lanna

This government has very specific reasons for wanting to disarm the public, they are not to be trusted. If our military personel would have been armed, the outcome would have been different, or with less casualties.

    • EarlyBird

“He uses any thing he can to take away our guns…”

First of all, after every mass shooting and for as long as you have been alive, there have been calls for gun control. It’s because of things like, you know, mass murder of children and of every day murders. Imagine someone being upset at that and wanting to do something about it? It MUST be a librul comminest plot to take over Murca!

Ed, I am against these stupid gun control “solutions” too, but don’t play dumb and imagine that people are making up reasons to be upset about guns.

      • Ed Shick

We should try to get our Politicians to look t o Switzerland for some good advice on a more sound Nation ,, One thing when they reach a certain age they are in military for about 6 mos, and trained to use weapons , Then they take there weapon home with them and it’s there’s to take care of , then they get about two weeks more Training each year,, If you break into some ones home you Know they are Armed ,, We need a little more Punishment if you do a crime with a Gun !!

        • EarlyBird

I just don’t think Switzerland or any other nation can possibly be used a model. We are so awash in guns (and I’m an avid gun owner myself) that we’re in a totally different situation.

We need to focus on the individuals with guns, not the guns themselves per se. I’d really like to see a serious national gun background network to ensure that nutjobs like this guy who’s been treated for mental problems can’t get guns. The question is whether or not the 2nd Amendment zealots could handle that.

          • Ed Shick

I agree it has to be responsible people , and with drugs and many other things we have developed and lack of religion things have went much worse in my life time , The County I grew up in had mostly farmers and they had guns but I only remember two Murders,, I think when we came up with second amendment it was fashioned after the Swiss, but the worse thing you can do is take an honest good mans guns away from him !!

          • Ed Shick

Actualy Switzerland has the least robberies of almost contries going and with there weapons kept at home and if they remain healthy the y are in military till retirement,, in the second world war told Switzerland how many troops he could send and would they Surrender,, The reply was that means every one of my men will have to shoot Twice!! they stayed as they were ,, I feel we should all have guns but if some one busts in to your home the Surprise is on there side!1

          • tickletik

Thats garbage. You come here with your little credentials such as “Im an avid gun owner myself” as though they mean anything. Wheneve anyone makes a statement you dont approve of, you fire away with over the top shaming language and insults. Youdont give any reasoning worth the name, and you drop comments like a bird sh*** in a park.

I am beginning to think you are either a total jerk, or a bought and paid for whore. Either eay, you arent welcome here. If its the second, then I suggest you get another discuss account and try to influence this apboard using a new name with more original tactics, because these are not going to fly here,

          • EarlyBird

What exaclty is “garbage,” weirdo? Are you saying that we SHOULD focus on guns rather than the individuals who use them?

“Wheneve anyone makes a statement you dont approve of, you fire away with over the top shaming language and insults….”

Oh got it. In other words, you’re some FPM moron I’ve had to verbally b**th slap, you had a nervous breakdown encountering someone who doesn’t reinforce your right wing dementia, so you dropped your old handle and now call yourself..what… ticketlicker? What? You’re probably defcon 4 or something. And a Star Trek nerd to boot.

Go away freak, you’re embarrassing yourself.

        • Gee

Other countries – other cultures. They do not translate. This I can say from personal experience.

If the US attempted to disarm it’s citizens like Canada or the United Kingdom there would be a bloodbath of epic proportions.

An American solution is needed – not importing one from other countries.

The US murder rate is strictly average compared to the rest of the world – considering the percentage of armed citizens (the highest by a long ways) – I do not believe that the weapons are the problem.

The gun laws already on the books in the United States are illegal under the Constitution. I think that is where you need to start looking. If the Constitution is outdated then amend it – but do so legally for once

          • Ed Shick

The Consitution was written as it should be , but when some one is a felon or Mental case, No guns ,, but if they were registered they know right where to get them and they will come in squads ,, It scarred off the Japs in WW2

    • Dan Nowotarski

Ed, I think you are absolutely right. The Obama administration is using every situation and opportunity they can, in order to disarm law abiding citizens, in order to push their agenda forward. I find it to be disgusting that the Obama administration is supporting savage Terrorists such as Al-Qaeda, Al-Nusra and the Muslim Brotherhood, or any terrorist organization for that matter. The Obama supported terrorists have been beating, raping and murdering innocent, unarmed Christian men, women and children. What ever happened to the Obama administration and the liberals “war on women” and “save the children” campaign? Why aren’t the liberals protesting against President Obama’s support for these terrorists? By President Obama supporting these terrorists and the liberals not speaking out and ignoring what’s going on, I have to ask are they in support of the beatings, rapes and murders of the women and children, or were those campaigns just part of the agenda? I believe they use whatever means they can to push their agenda forward, it is part of their agenda to disarm law abiding citizens. – God Bless America, Israel, the NRA and all Real Freedom Fighting Patriots.

If you had read the article then you would know that ALL US military bases are gun free zones and have been for a very long time.

      • EarlyBird

“If you had read the article then you would know that ALL US military bases are gun free zones and have been for a very long time.”

And why would that be guys? Because Godless, PC, liberal communists have seeped into the highest echelons of the military?! Could it be a Marxist/Islamist plot to take over America?!

Or could it be that there are risks to simply having weapons around, and that the military has done the cost/benefit analysis where a.) the chances of military personnel needing to defend themselves against imminent threats are so small, that b.) the risk of having weapons around is not worth it.

And yes, any trained gun owner, like me, acknowledge that the mere fact of a loaded weapon creates the opportunity for an accident or misuse. That’s why we learn to treat them with respect.

        • muchiboy

As this was unfolding I listened to a CBC interview with an ex security official at this site who said there was onsite security and it would be minutes before response from local police and Federal Response teams from “across the river, including FBI.

        • Drakken

That policy started under Clinton, before him you could have anything you wanted, depending on what the Commander of the base felt at any given moment.

          • Gee

Not exactly – I served in the US Army under Carter and Reagan – ALL bases were gun-free then. It started under Nixon.

          • Drakken

On USMC bases it was under command discretion, Clinton screwed it up.

        • tickletik

“yes, any trained gun owner, like me”

You are pathetic. You are so vulger and over the top. If I had your job as a paid political prostitute, I would NEVER have put e “like me” line in here. But then again, thats probably why you needed to take is job in e first place. Were you a failure as a writer before you whored youself out to infiltrate blogs and write mindless crap like that? The thing that makes me most sick about your writing is that it is nearly totally meaningless. I can literally substitute any topic in there and get the exact same effect.

      • defcon 4

I guess the Ft. Hood victims found that out the hard way.

  • Morgan23

This is more a result of the Liberals and Obama’s hate mongering and his perpetual attempts to pit class against class, race against race, rich against poor. That along with several generations of people who have been told how wonderful they are how there is no right or wrong, and who experience no consequences of their actions and how all of their problems and their position in life is a result of someone else having more, being wealthier, being another color. Instead of being disciplined and taught right from wrong, people like this have no compunction using violence against others, the many faceless people that are responsible for his plight and all of his problems. We are a Nation that has murdered 50 million defenseless unborn children and who see no wrong in that. Why, if we can condone and support and argue for this mass murder of innocents, should we be surprised when one among us takes this revenge against the people around him for perceived affronts. We need to return to God and if that does not appeal to you read and think about the Ethics of Aristotle, follow his logic and his wisdom.

I have just read within the comments section of the same story but in another publication that the attacker was initially armed with a shotgun. The other weapons were taken from armed guards that he took out. Questions: given his record and dismissal from the forces who hired this man? Another PC move with unintended consequences?

    • EarlyBird

Actually, “PC” would make anybody with a gun crime on his record barred from employment. Is it probably standard bureaucratic bungling? Yep.

  • Lanna

So now we have had the Fort Hood shooting by Nidal Hassan, The Boston Bombing by the Tsarnaev Brothers, and now the shooting at the Navy Shipyard, all say that this government is too big, too complacent in enforcing a strong national security policy and especially when Alexis had a record of depression, mania, and other neurotic problems, and was being treated by the VA. Why in the world was this guy able to get security clearance? Its too late once they murder innocent military people…It almost seems as if this guy was hired to go on a rampage so that the topic could once again be Gun Control…with nuts like this on the loose, no one is going to sanction gun control especially for those who are sane and keep their weapons locked up!

  • Deep Space

But if Obama focused on the other 8,583 homicides by gun would you accept his argument? I mean, is that the issue; i.e. that he’s focusing on the wrong type of killing in order to argue for (some) gun control? I’m not an Obama supporter but at this point I don’t think gun homicides could ever raise to a level high enough to induce pro-gun advocates rethink at least some of their positions. When even the idea of a pre-purchase background check results in cries of “traitor” or “dictatorship”, I have to wonder which is more of a mental disorder – liberalism or whatever you want to call the other thing.

    • EarlyBird

Thank you for that statement of sanity. I am a strong 2nd Amendment proponent, a gun owner and a bit of a gun nut. But the idiotic “arguments” against even the most tepid background checks, or limits on types of weapons or ammo are so unhigned, so extreme, on “my side,” that I am embarrassed. The NRA is the right wing gunners’ equivalent of Planned Parenthood.

In case it has escaped your liberal utopian worldview, the left in this country never let a tragedy go to waste, they without question want total gun bans and confiscation, so too effing bad if it hurts your feelings, give the left an inch and they will take a mile every time, so no more giving in. The NRA is the only organization that defends the rights that the Constitution and Bill of Rights bestow upon us, while the leftys want to take them away for the so called common good, eff them, we will no longer give them an inch to take.

    • Drakken

Give the liberal/regressives and inch and they will take a mile, besides how many more gun laws do you need besides the over 20,000 we already have?

    • Gee

The US has 8,583 homicides by guns – yes and over 200,000,000 firearm owners. So you are willing to punish more than 199,992,000 people for the actions of 0.0043% of the gun owners?

    • ziggy zoggy

None of the “gun control” measures favored by Obama (who you claim not to support) could do anything to change the murder rate in America. They would only make it harder for law abiding citizens to protect themselves.

Did anyone besides me notice obozos comment early in the moorning
(when the tally was still only 2) that this was “another mass shooting”??
How did he know it was a -mass- shooting before anyone else??

Was this another staged event to promote gun control legislation?

And how come no one is asking:

    • Pingston

Obama didn’t speak until early afternoon, upset his political rant was delayed. The killing was all done within the first hour or so, and started shortly after 8:30. As President he properly would have been briefed long before the media.

According to NBC there is surveillance video of Alexis killing a guard and taking his 9mm pistol and clip, then killing another guard and taking his AR-15.

He got onto the base because he had top clearance from being in Naval Reserve (from which he was discharged) and had also stolen an ID card, likely for more specialized access. According to NBC, he started killing soon after entering the complex, entering with only a shotgun.

Better questions: what drugs did the VA prescribe for him in August? What are the historical side-effects of such drugs? Are they the same drugs prescribed for Newtown and Colorado killers? All three had ‘mental problems’ and were on drugs and yet we haven’t been told what drugs. That seems to be a much more important focus for the investigation, given what else we already know. For example, we know he told people he was a victim of racism, that that’s why he wasn’t promoted in Navy. Was he trying to kill someone that had denied him advancement or had recommended his dismissal? Did the VA-prescribed drugs lead him to seek revenge? Or was he a closet jihadist?

Probe launched over claim that elite Capitol Police unit blocked from Navy Yard massacre
      September 18, 2013

The board that oversees the U.S. Capitol Police has opened an investigation into whether a tactical team of officers that was one of the first on the scene during the Washington Navy Yard shooting was ordered to stand down.

Several sources confirmed the probe to Fox News. The investigation follows reports that a highly trained and specialized Capitol Police team arrived soon after the shooting started, but was told by a supervisor to leave the scene.

This is in fact what happens when we have unarmed Military men and women on base. What it tells me is, if these men and women were armed, it would have changed everything. It would have made these low lifes think twice before committing an evil act as they did, and they most likely wouldn’t have killed as many brave Patriots as they did. I think the same can be said about disarming law abiding citizens in civilian life. Low lifes would think twice not knowing if others are carrying or not, and if they do attempt to commit an act of mass murder, the possibility of it coming to an abrupt end is more likely with armed citizens than unarmed. There will be more scenes as this with the disarming of law abiding citizens. – God Bless America, Israel, the NRA and all Real Freedom Fighting Patriots.

    • EarlyBird

The vast majority of people in the Navy Yard, as on most military installations, are civilian federal employees. Arming them may very well have lessened the number of deaths, but without serious police/military style training, however, these chaotic situations can also get worse.
“It would have made these low lifes think twice before committing an evil act as they did,…”

Not the nut jobs. This guy didn’t go through a rational cost/benefit analysis before his mass killing. He just snapped. Does an armed (and trained) population lead the average criminal to think twice about attacking someone? Yes.

To me this once again screams “Screening for mental illness!”

I would hope and think anyone employed by a security firm would have firearms training and trained in the use of force. Living in Illinois all gun owners are suppose to have a Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card, in order to purchase a firearm or ammunition the FOID card has to be shown. Ill. State Police issue the FOID cards. I believe it’s still a $10.00 fee paperwork filled out (10min.) and photo mailed. When Ill. State Police receive the request they complete a background check on the person requesting the card and if passed one will be mailed to the person. I don’t believe it is necessary to have one. I do understand that your concerned that a firearm will be sold to a person with mental illness. I think a possible happy middle ground could be, if there was a way to do it, I would suggest the following. One main mental facility hooked up to records of all others in each state. All firearm dealers call there with each applicants name if nothing comes up on the individual then call State Police if no felony convictions come up, sell the person the firearm and no records kept by the state or mental facility. The state and mental facility can take a small percentage of the sale, and no ones business is no one business.

Arming professional soldiers would not have “may very well” anything you two faced liar. They would have OBVIOUSLY ended that animals shooting spree.

You are so transparent. How much are you getting paid for this?

I’m just glad it has toned down the antisemitic riffs.

        • EarlyBird

Stupid, try to follow along: if we just hand out guns to civilians with no training, with the idea that they are going to stop the next rampage, we may end up with even more dead people by accident. This is not a complex idea.

          • Drakken

Most of those so called civilians are former military. So being able to carry on a military base should be an option.

    My reports:

The cold dark truth is that we are required to live in & adjust to a culture dominated by barbarous militancy which permeates all of our culture.

Violence as a virus which the fbi (and police generally) feed upon, encourage and relish.

The gun control groups have a playbook for handling these incidents.
Preventing Gun Violence Through Effective Messaging this can be found
online and has been used since 2012. This tells them to jump on the
emotional before anything factual is known. Truth is not part of the

    • EarlyBird

Sherry, I hope everyone seeks to reduce gun violence. It’s just that there are some naive or uninformed groups who don’t go about it correctly. They don’ hate you and God and the America; they hate murders by gun.

Stop with the paranoia and start educating the left about guns, and consider some rational steps to reducing gun violence which doesn’t limit our 2nd Amendment rights. The left aren’t the only ones who come at issues emotionally. Even right wingers have been killed in massacres like the one yesterday.

      • tickletik

Early, i hope everyone seeks to reduce shameless prostitution. Its just that there are insecure, political groups that are emotionally dependent on their politics who dont go about it correctly. They hate themselves, and God, and America because they have no real inner integrity and thus fear everyone.

Stop woth the shameless prostitution and start learning an actual trade. Consider some rational steps to getting a meaningful trade which doesnt involve whoring your writing skills out to a paid political attack group. The ledt arent the only ones who pay money to subvert the political discourse. Even right wringers have shown that level pf disgusting corruption like what you did today.

      • Guy Fromage

        they hate murders by gun

Anyone who qualifies the murders they hate, in this fashion, are disingenuous at best. Dead is dead. If they wring there hand more, over the relatively few death by rifles, compared to those caused by misuse of knives, frying pans, baseball bats, or those bare hands they can’t stop wringing, their motives are political, not humanitarian.

        • EarlyBird

Talk about disingenous. There have never been mass murders committed by frying pans and baseball bats. There is a reason gun owners (should) get trained in safe handling and respect firearms, it’s because they are inherently dangerous.

          • Drakken

Funny thing is, the NRA for which you rail against are the oldest organization that does train civilians in weapons handling and safety.

          • Guy Fromage

Or even the JPFO (Jews for Preservation of Firearms Ownership). Given Early’s proclivities, they are a double threat. :-D

          • Guy Fromage

Historically, the worst single mass murder on American soil was with a bomb. Fortunately, Harrison and Kleebold were poor bomb makers, otherwise the Columbine body count would have been higher.

But talk about disingenuous. Mass murders are a tiny tiny fraction of homicide deaths. These incidents are perpetrated by insane people. The crime is not that guns are available to them on the street, but that they are not off the street and in places where they can get care, even against their will, if need be.

If we choose to not be disingenuous, we know who is responsible for that state of affairs.

“But common sense is lost on leftists who don’t seem to understand that taking away guns makes Americans less safe.”

That is not their motive. The Democrats and their media feel that if guns are eliminated, then they can take over.

There’s nothing humanitarian in their aspirations, whatsoever.

Their entire approach is to have yet more victims.

    So much for compassion.

Each of these shootings and the multitude more in western Europe, have had the commonality of something being “wrong” with them in terms of logic. The Aurora shooter supposedly shot 81 people with a 30 round clip by himself. Nor did he have the money to buy the gun and rounds. The Boston bomber had a Saudi who was P.N.G.ed but never held for trial. This one will no doubt have something illogical about it, too.

We have had thousands of terror incidents in the U.S. in the last decade. Trainwreck after trainwreck, water contaminated, pipes broken, rocks placed on tracks, trestles burned, bridges burned, and one chemical factory after another torched.

At some point, the U.S. has to grow up and say “no more” to the terrorists of Allah/Satan and make it very hard on those who are doing this stuff.

The Islamic angle keeps getting glossed over, with S-heads claiming “it’s not terrorism” even as the shooters scream “allahu akbar”.

  • CurmudgyOne

If someone there had been armed, maybe the guy would have at least been occupied defending himself and could have been swarmed.

If a shooter on a mission is determined he will find a way to obtain a gun … he will find a way to bypass security. The solution. Ban all gun free zone!! Quit advertising to those with an agenda that their mission of carnage can be accomplished in a limited time period with no resistance.

  • cathy

    Bottom Line

Akin to most mass shootings … gun free zones are the locations of choice. The shooter on a mission can be assured his law-abiding victims will be akin to sitting ducks.

Think about. If the Washington Navy Yard had not been a gun free zone … logic dictates that Aaron Alexis would have been taken down earlier in the rampage. He may have claimed victims but the carnage would have been minimized.
