The C-SCOPE lesson example used in this biased article is nothing sinister. To teach critical thinking skills, the students are given an imaginary country with certain characteristics and develop a flag to represent those characteristics. The lesson teaches students to analyze information and develop a flag based on their analysis. The lesson also uses the American Flag and shows how our values are represented in the flag. There is no socialism indoctrination in the lesson unless you afe a parnoid conservative makeing e huge leaps in logic and rational thought.

From your article:

"In response to media interpretation of Lumberton Independent School District administration and staff, the school district would like to emphasize the profile of the school. The students within our school district are taught to learn to think for themselves."

So these kids came up with the idea to wear these costumes? They decided that Islamic terrorism doesn't exist? Even if that is true, that is no excuse to allow them to believe their own lies.

It's your lies that are not believable.

"Our goal is to educate students to be aware of this global society and the accolades and dangers that exist; as well as, excelling in the adopted curriculum."

The dangers of "Islam-o-phobia" and failing to visualize world peace through electing Democrats?

"The school district is one of a few school districts in this area that has achieved meeting Adequate Yearly Progress through federal accountability, as well as a Recognized School District in the State of Texas."

Why not call it "adequate yearly radical leftism" and then walk around with all the pride you deserve? We know 0'Bama approves.

"In reference to "freedom fighters," the teacher used the quote in her classroom from Gerald Seymour in his 1975 book Harry's Game which stated "one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter." The point of this quote was to create conversation to show how one group can perceive an action according to their own agenda. Discussion among the students focused on how people can twist the word "freedom fighter" and make it convenient for their own dark purposes. The teacher was emphasizing terrorists called themselves "freedom fighters." The misinterpretation of the fact the teacher called the 9-11 terrorists "freedom fighters" is far from accurate."

So you discussed the fact that most (virtually all of them) terrorists are actually fighting to spread sharia? Yes or no?

Sorry, TexasTeacher, but your position means that you're biased in favor of what your state and district are doing, and as for the "real story" on the link you cited, it sure smacks of CYA to me.
"As Fox News reporter Todd Starnes noted this week, a 32-year veteran of the high school led a world geography lesson on Islam in which hijab-wrapped students were banned from using the words “suicide bomber” and “terrorist” to describe Muslim mass murderers in favor of the term “freedom fighter.”"

Sure. They're fighting for the "right" to murder in the name of Mohammed and Islam.
