Picture 1Sympathies must go out to the Iranian people for the economic strain they were placed under as a result of sanctions.  Now that there has been an offer to Iran by the U.S. and five world powers, commerce can begin once again. The 35 percent inflation and 13 percent unemployment for the poor, oppressed Iranian people will soon be alleviated.

America should understand that Iran will continue to pursue its right to nuclear energy – naturally, for peaceful purposes.  No one can deny the right of Iran to continue to do what other countries do in their people’s best interests. America should realize that one can only make peace with one’s enemies. With one’s friends there is no need to make peace.  There is no military solution to the problems of any conflict and bloodshed is never an option.  As we know already, there is really no need to discuss “red lines.” After Syria, we should make certain that we don’t even discuss threatening people. Military force serves no role in the post-modern universe. It is passé.  It is archaic.

And as President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan has told us, American threats to leave the region are a bluff. As he said, “The U.S. has come and will not go, brother. It does not go. Therefore, ask for your demands and don’t worry.”  The United States does not want to leave – so let’s stop bluffing.

America must encourage the entire world to continue to give in to anyone who threatens force, and it should consider rescinding foreign aid as punishment for any country that challenges Iran.  This will begin to restore Iranian honor, which is so important in that part of the world. America and the world must meet all the demands of the Iranian people in full.  In addition, Iran must be offered many billions of dollars for even discussing its nuclear program. Today, consumer interests dominate the world, and the Islamist activists of the earth will surely make peace in exchange for profits from participating in global trade.

Civilized nations — America and the United Kingdom and others — must negotiate even while under attack.  Conditioning negotiations on an end to violence is a no-win situation.  It will simply extend the bloodshed.  If someone were to actually attack enemies, it would simply expand and enlarge the cycle of violence.

Retaliation will no doubt injure some innocent children and civilians, which will enrage the rest of the world and make the victims seek revenge. Violence will only create more violence, and hence, lose the window of opportunity to make peace. America should immediately declare a unilateral ceasefire.  The entire world will congratulate America, surely.

Give peace a chance, and you’ll of course win repeated Noble Peace prizes. Do not allow yourself to be drawn down into the gutter of retaliation. Violence never achieves anything.  History has no lessons. History is the dead past. Demonstrate humanity by paying pensions to any widows and orphans of terrorists who harm America.

Peace in our time is attainable.

Slight difference between Nev and Barry: Nev was a naive idiot. Barry knows exactly what he is doing, and the benefit of living in a time when we are aware of Nev’s tragic mistakes gives Barry not one single excuse!
Time to impeach, arrest, try and punish, don’t you think?

    • EarlyBird

No, Bob. We should not impeach, arrest, try and punish a president for engaging in diplomacy. You’re absolutely hysterical. Chill out.

Regarding the standard, idiotic Chamberlain comparisons: in ’38 Britain and the rest of the world was in zero position to stop Hitler and his world class military, and with the exception of Stalin sending human waves at the Wehrmact, were unable to put up any kind of resistance until ’43. In less than three short years the Nazis cut through Europe like a hot knife through butter and took over Czechoslovakia, Poland, Belgium, France, Norway (the Soviets moving into Finland), put England under seige by air in the Battle of Britain, took over Greece, Yugoslavia and North Africa, was mauling Allied shipping, and of course controlled Italy.

Chamberlain didn’t sell out CZ with his agreement with Hitler. He used it as a fig leaf to cover up the plain fact that Britain was unable to resist Hitler.

Today, in 2013, we’re looking at Iran who has an economy on its knees, a second rate military, few real allies, boxed in by the US and Israeli militaries, looking down the silos of Israeli nukes, and who have pled for this agreement.

There is zero reason to believe that the mullahs are in the grip of a suicide wish whereby they would nuke Tel Aviv the moment they went nuclear, and be nuked in turn. Many American and IDF experts believe they are a very long way away from acheiving a bomb.

So not only are the Chamberlain/Obama comparisons absurd, so are the ’39 Hitler/2013 Iran comparisons. My God, if only German was as weak in ’39 as Iran is in 2013, Hitler would be a minor footnote today!

This deal with Iran does not mean “peace in our time,” it is a very, very tepid beginning of a possible bigger set of deals which give us a chance to look at Iranian intentions and processes, and reward them for good behavior or ratchet up the sanctions once again, or wage war, if need be.

Obama would be derelict of duty if he didn’t take this tiny opening and this tiny, easily reversible risk, to achieve a peaceful draw down of our 30+ year cold war with Iran. If we could end the Cold War peacefully, we can surely do the same with Iran. The mullahs are a rotten, terrible regime, but hardly compare to the world’s most dangerous monsters who the US have made peace agreeements with. The USSR and Mao’s China come to mind.

You really are effing stupid, for you don’t understand a bloody thing of history, completely misread it and come away with completely wrong conclusions, no wonder why you voted for Obummer. The Iranians just got handed the gold plate and now think we are all weak and timid creatures and will fall for anything. MAD doesn’t work with these effing sub human savages dumbazz, but hey you keep wishing upon rainbows and unicorns and sing a little kumbaya to boot and everything will be peace in our time. Effing moron!

    The comparison is quite valid.

  • ObamaYoMoma

Since the sole fundamental purpose of mainstream orthodox Islam is the subjugation of all religions and all infidels into Islamic totalitarianism through both violent and non-violent jihad and the eventual imposition of Sharia (Islamic totalitarian law) to ultimately make Islam supreme throughout the world, then why would the Obama administration allow the Iranians to get nuclear weapons exactly like gullible useful idiots? Indeed, this unhinged decision will one day make us forget about the stupidity of Obamacare. Can we say WWIII?

Moreover, every time the Iranians rattle their sabers, the price of oil skyrockets through the roof. Imagine how high oil prices will sore once Iran inevitably gets nuclear weapons courtesy of Obama and Kerry. Indeed, they will literally be able to get the world to bow down to them in submission and especially the Euroloons together with the American Left.

What an insult to Mr. Chamberlain! He was, at least, a gentleman …

  • BeeKaaay

Is this article a tacit admission that Iran is a Nazi state? With their utter hatred of Jews, I’d say that Nazism is in the middle east.

It is a religious follower of marxist academia narrative about WW2. I repeatedly referred it to documented facts, which this narrative cannot possibly accommodate, and it steadfastly keeps ignoring these facts to preserve the narrative. This is the mark of a fanatical drone, obamanite.

    • JJ

Eh, um – you mean marxist Hoover?

      • reader

Eh, um – you mean a vacuum cleaner or the pre-depression President? I mean Howard Zinn – as a required ridiculous reading nowadays. Of course, there are other – more sophisticated – untruths about WW2 out there, but this particular poster certainly does not rise above the floor trim level.
