Evangelicals: Vital for American Support for Israel

We Stand with IsraelAmerican Jewish support has long been viewed as vital for the State of Israel’s political interests. The particulars of the recent high-profile Pew Research Center survey of American Jews should result in radical re-thinking of that theory (with the exception of Orthodox Jews.)  Those who are concerned with Israel’s future must now consider placing even more emphasis upon the Evangelical Christian community.  The study found that Christians are more supportive of, and potentially more important for the needs of the State of Israel. Israel’s political future in America has become increasingly contingent upon Evangelical Christians; not the American Jewish liberal communities.

While liberal American Jewish organizations publicly condemn Ministers in the Israeli government for criticizing a “Two-State Solution,” those very American liberal Jews are overseeing the largest rate of assimilation ever.  Norman Podhoretz’s words can now be seen as prophetic – as he proclaimed, “liberalism has become much more than a set of political opinions for political Jews: It has become a religion in its own right, with its own Torah of liberalism and its own set of commandments.” For them, “The new Torah will always trump the old.”

And with the Pew survey showing that 71 percent of non-Orthodox Jews intermarry and two-thirds of Jews do not belong to a synagogue, the proof is that years of American Jewish liberal leadership have led Jews away from Judaism and now, the State of Israel too. Assimilation and the pursuit of liberal values to the extent that it rejects true Judaism are simply not in the best interest of Israel, or America, and now we know that it is also not good for Jewish continuity.

Valuing America as a Judeo-Christian nation means stressing the common ethical standards of Christianity and Judaism, which liberal American Jews no longer do as they have abandoned traditional values. The Evangelical audience’s religious faith is predicated upon Israel – and unlike liberal Jews they practice their religion, and do not try and force their liberal values upon the State of Israel. Evangelical Christians simply stand by the Jewish state, care for Israel, and raise money for Israel and needs of the Jewish people.

When Jewish organizations were built in America, the leadership had a common sense of social values that dictated freedom and equality for all because they knew the cost of racism and bigotry.  They pursued those ideals to protect Jews and preserve their abilities to remain proud Jews.  Today, generations later, liberalism has now been amended to oddly reject Judaism.  It seems that advocating for the rights of those who would see Jews and Israel disappear by opposing Jews as well has become the mantra of liberal Jews.

This schism is the reason that the Pew survey found that 61% of American Jews say “Israel and an independent Palestinian state can coexist peacefully,” and only 42% of Evangelicals agree.  Evangelicals are more hawkish and strident about Israel’s defense than American Jews – with the exception of traditional, religious Jews.

54% of American Jews say American support of the Jewish state is “about right,” while 31% say the U.S. is not supportive enough. Thirty-one percent of Evangelicals say American support of the Jewish state is “about right,” while 46% say the U.S. is not supportive enough. (Politically speaking, even if support was enough, why not ask for more?).

As a proud American Jew, I believe closer partnerships with the Evangelical community will encourage more pro-family values, which would benefit the American Jewish community; which will also make America a greater, stronger country.  By building even closer ties, Jews and Israel can be strengthened in the manner that is in American Jewry’s and Israel’s best interests. It is also in the United States of America’s best interest.

More focus should be put on people like Pastor John Hagee, the ACLJ and their brilliant leader Jay Sekulow, David Cerullo and Inspiration Network, and not American Jewish “leaders” like David Harris’s American Jewish Committee, The New Israel Fund or J Street.  It is in the best interest of the civilized western world.  May G-d bless America and the State of Israel.

I am an evangelical and have long supported Israel, but that support is growing cold. It is not reciprocated. In many cases we are at best simply ignored and at worst called terriorists by organizations such as the SPLC, which is now the defacto source for police and military intell on hate groups. It is becoming increasingly clear that the vast majority, especially the American Jewish community, does not want our support. There are a few prominent exceptions such as Mr. Horowitz, Mark Levin, and Dennis Praegar.

Your support should be based on your knowledge that Israel is God’s chosen place/people, not on the actions of any particular group. God said He will bless those who bless Israel. I think its pretty clear that as America continues to mistreat and betray Israel that our situation in America continues to deteriorate.

The $PLC isn’t Jewish. It is communist and has attacked Jewish groups. I think you need to do some more research before becoming cold.
The state-chosen leaders fo the Jewish community are largely leftists who refuse debate. (Seriously, go look up what the cowards did to Stephen Steinlight. )

$PLC? That’s good. I personally like the “Southern Preposterous Lie Center”

Bravo Ronn! Excellent piece and so true. Liberalism is a plague upon Jew and Gentile. Thanks for pointing out the Evangelic support of Israel. Contrary to what many Leftist Jews believe, they are NOT they enemy.

How heartwarming that two of the most pernicious, reactionary groups in American society, evangelical Christians and Zionist Jews, have found each other. You freaks deserve on another.

If you move back to Somalia or the Sudan, you’ll never be bothered by Zionist Jews or Christians ever again.

Jay Sekulow is a hero American. I listen to his radio show every day and admire the man tremendously.

For the benefit of those Jews uwho have difficulty seeing past the term “Christian”, the enemies are the ones shooting at Israel, and the friends are the ones supporting Israel. J Street and liberal American Jews seem to expend much greater effort criticizing Israel, very little effort in opposing those who shoot at Israel. In contrast, Evangelical Christians have been steadfast in their pressure on Obama and Congress to support Israel, and in their criticism of those who shoot at Israel. There are those who fear another Holocaust, myself among them, who say that the US should have done more to prevent the past Holocaust. Yet, there are liberal American Jews who idolize FDR, who could have done something, but didn’t, to prevent, or at least interfere with, the Holocaust. They should appreciate that the Evangelical Christians are doing what they can to support Israel and preserve it. But J Street and liberal American Jews criticize Israel and the Evangelical Christians, and embrace Obama’s fantasy that Islam is the religion of love. And, J Street and liberal American Jews adore Obama, just as they did FDR.

Listen: 12/31/09 From God The Father – A Letter Given to Timothy, For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear

Thus says The Lord God of Israel: The time has come, when I shall rise up and spare My people. Yea, I shall stretch out My hand and deliver them, even all of them; yes, the believer and the wicked alike shall be spared… Even all who dwell in My land, the land which I had promised to Abraham and have given to the seed of Jacob, forever.

Yet let it be known, and let the people understand: For My own name’s sake shall I perform this, for it is time to reveal My hand to the peoples of the earth. It is time for the name of The Lord your God to be made known, for I shall cause My name to resound in all the earth…Behold, it shall resound loudly! It shall sound! And My power shall be made fully known!
Then shall you know, even as it is written and I Myself had spoken it, that I AM THE LORD; and I have dealt with you for My own name’s sake, and not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O house of Israel, says The Lord God.
Therefore, let My people bow down and give thanks. And let the atheist consider and weep for his soul; let his intellect fail him and his heart melt like wax before the fire… And let all My enemies fear! LET ALL IN THE EARTH TREMBLE! For behold, I am standing! I am coming down to take a stand! And My anger has come up into My face!

Behold, the enemies of Israel are gathered together; evil thoughts have entered their hearts. Lo, I have hardened them for My purpose, saying, “COME FORTH! Gather together! Come swiftly! Yes, all you wicked nations, come! Make a pact and come forth! You, and your armies with you! Yes, come against the land I had given to My people! Come quickly to destroy and take your spoil!”… For the time has come, and I am eager to perform My will…
Stand fast in battle array, cover the land like a shadow and take aim! For you shall be cut down! I shall cut you down as blighted wheat before the scythe, as a diseased sheaf left standing in the open field, set as stubble before the fire! Says The Lord.

Behold, I shall make of you a spectacle!
And you shall be for a sign to all nations!
Even the sun shall be covered!…

And you and all your company shall be struck by My own hand!
Yes, I shall strike you down and fill your hearts with madness!

The God who reigns in Israel!…

The One and Only True God, Creator of Heaven and Earth!…

What is suspicious, is an American President who seems often to be hostile towards Israel, and then in other places very sympathetic to the most radical jihadis. This is true in Egypt with his support of Morsi, it is true in Syria, where he supports the rebels that are largely run by Hamas and Al Qaida, and in Libya he seems to prefer the hardliners. I am puzzled, this guy’s politics are hardly distinguishable from Bin Laden’s.
