I really wish these authors would give us references that we can check out. Her argument on Cancer Survival Rates are impressive but where are the facts. We don't come out on the top with longevity. I hear in Cuba they lie about their data concerning infant mortality. Here is a chart I did find:

http://www.worldlifeexpectancy.com/cause-of-death/all-cancers/by-country//

Our ranking is not that impressive. Who knows the true facts? Mexico and Iran have a much better ranking than us.

Here is another article:

http://www.factcheck.org/2009/08/cancer-rates-and-unjustified-conclusions/

"Dr. Marie Diener-West, a professor of biostatistics at Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, told us that it would be a stretch to draw too many conclusions from comparing survival rates. "Part of the problem with the comparison is that it might not actually be comparable populations," she said. "It could be [one is] an older population, it could be they have more comorbidities [other conditions] that are affecting their survival in addition to cancer, there could be occupational differences. There are many different factors that could be playing a role."

You are mistaken.

You're concentrating on Income Taxes.
Even the welfare crowd is paying taxes -- big time -- as many, many, of their 'essentials' are taxed heavily.
Tobacco, alcohol, gasoline, tires, etc. have hefty taxes built into them. For the poor, these expenditures take a shocking percentage of their 'cash.' In Hawaii, even food is taxed at 4%, no matter what. That state's GET has the same impact as a 20% sales tax rate would be in California -- because it pyramids and has no exclusions.
Beyond that, as ones income rises, welfare is scaled back -- at a tax rate that is EXTREMELY progressive.

Due to statutes, many welfare payouts have 'cliff functions.' That is, beyond X your payout vanishes entirely.
This is massively apparent in 0-care. The cliff is smack in the middle of the middle class distribution! That can't be a coincidence.
ALL flat tax schemes fall apart because they REQUIRE the poor to payout so much for our Big Government that they can't feed themselves.
Congress has legislated an intermediating class of apparats that it refuses to shed. This social overburden cripples all rationalization of Big Government. The re-set may well take a revolution. See Venezuela.
America needs to get away from Income Tax all together. That would change the nature of the welfare cliff -- actually erroding it.
It would also throttle the consumption of objects as compared to human labor. This transition is going to be absolutely required during this century. Otherwise, socialization will break down entirely.

Obamacare offers premature death at a discount.
Get all the stuff you don't need for free but the latest life saving treatment is not available, only available to Pelosi and Obama and their friends and families.
The rest of us may die on the cheap.
Scary how many brain dead mentally conformed left-tard zombies like and defend this deal.
And forget trying to persuade them. You're talking facts to them only insults their religious beliefs because for them, government is god and the prophet who owns their brains from the grave is a dead white man named Karl Marx whose bones long ago turned to dust and whose ideas murdered and mass murdered more than 100 million innocent souls in a short span of time during the 20th century.
Yet he OWNS their thoughts and more precious beliefs. He actually invented them. The joke is these mind numbed zombies and otherwise very intelligent people consider themselves "independent thinkers."
You can't make this stuff up.

I agree with all of this, but the tax issue. The progressive income tax is communism. Everyone should pay, whether you are on unemployment, collecting welfare, or working. It should be a flat tax or fair tax. A person making $800,000 will still pay more than one making $80,000. For example 10 percent of $800,000 is $80,000, as opposed to $8000.00 for someone making $80,000.

Those in the higher income brackets will still pay more. It's unconscionable that welfare isn't taxed. The only ones in this country with no skin in the game are those 47 percent not paying tax. You live here and use the resources, you pay.

<i>"Premiums are set by your age, not your health.</i>

For Obamacare, I believe premiums are the same for all ages. Someone should check this and tell Coulter. We don't want to be like the left--pushing disinformation.

<b>Update</b> Looks like I'm wrong and Coulter is right. The premium differential has been reduced but not eliminated. "Insurers can still charge higher rates to older individual policyholders, but the ratios, or "bands," by which age-based rates can differ have been reduced to 3:1... from 5:1 under existing practices." http://money.usnews.com/money/blogs/the-best-life/2013/08/08/how-obamacare-will-affect-health-insurance-rates-by-age-group

Still, the 1/3 rule will still be unfair to the young and in part force them to subsidize the older person: http://thehill.com/blogs/healthwatch/health-reform-implementation/275873-study-predicts-health-law-will-raise-premiums-on-young-adults

I'm 62 and my premium was cut in half while my 29 year old nephew saw a negligible increase but massive cuts in quality (his doctor and local hospital isn't covered.)
