Unbelievable a First Lady with ham hocks for arms with a caboose in tow bigger than the Great Plains would have the unmitigated nerve to believe for one second she's in any kind of position to lecture people on diet and fitness.

The image of the photo from behind of Michelle Obama standing next 2 other wives of European heads of state will always stay with me.

If Michelle and Obama ever got into a physical match, she would clean the floor with waif Obama. In a New York second.

Because we turned over our responsibility of feeding our kids to the schools which take federal money to feed them. They call the shots because we take their money and then we complain when they don't like the foods. Parents need to quit being lazy and make their kids lunches and then they won't be involved with school lunch quality issues

Parents that I know, have told me that their children are refusing to eat in school and are running out to McDonald's or buying a bag of chips and a cola for lunch.
If the kids do eat the school lunch, they complain that the food is tasteless and
unappetizing or that the meal left them hungry.
When and why did parents abdicate their responsibility to feed their own children? Now schools provide breakfasts, lunches, health care, birth control and access to SNAP (food stamps) and other government programs.
Parents, make your children lunches to bring to school with them or have them come home for lunch if at all possible.

This is why you never want to let programs like Federal School lunches (authorized under which part of the Constitution?), Medicare, Medicaid, etc get off the ground in the first place. - when you try to roll them back, or even cut their costs to reasonable levels, the entrenched special interests accuse us of wanting to starve children, etc.

We don't need a Federal school lunch program - are the public schools unable to provide lunch? If so, why are we entrusting them with our children's education, which is a bit more complicated? We also don't need Federal Government nutrition standards - where on earth did anyone get the idea the government, which is force, is qualified to figure out nutritional (or any other) standards?

We'll know when we finally have a Republican Congress worth its weight in chili dogs when it turns this program over to the states - i.e. zeroes it out of the budget and provides no block-granting either. As long as education is run by the states (and it shouldn't be), school lunches can be run by the states - or (horrors!) kids can brown-bag it just like we used to.

All this talk of food is making me hungry, so I'm going to eat something.

I'm going to have a steak and kidney pie, the sort with lots of pieces of grisly fat in it. Yummy. I'm having it with big fat french fries (chips) that have been fried almost to a crisp and lots of gravy. I'm also having mushy peas.Mushy peas are great. They've been soaked stupid so that they've lost most of their vitamins but I don't care because they taste great and really fill you up.

I would also like to point out that I like to put lots of salt on my dinners.

I'm also going to wash it all down with a beer (or two).

I just really had to share this information with all of you. If the internet could transfer things physically, I would share the food with you as well, so that you could all experience how great this tastes.

Anyway, what was the subject about again? Oh, yeah fat loud-mouthed Michelle rabbiting on about some crap or another.

Pass me a beer now, I'm thirsty!

The left is already taking this concept to the rest of society. Look at how they are demanding restaurants change their menus and portions. When the government becomes the single payer of health care this will kick into high gear. The serfs will eat gruel, and the good stuff will be reserved for the reestablished nobility.

The government in a mixed economy always works at cross purposes, with inherent conflicts of interest. It's not their wealth they're wasting, and it keeps at least two bureaucracies and their union members on every 'problem'. Between them they make sure no 'problem' is improved, much less solved.
