The Ferguson Days of Rage

ferguson-mike-brownThis week, America held its collective breath as it waited on the grand jury indictment verdict for Officer Darren Wilson. Wilson, you’ll recall, had the misfortune to run into 6’5″, 289-lb. Michael Brown, an 18-year-old black man who had just finished strong-arm robbing a convenience store. Wilson pulled Brown over as he and his accomplice walked in the middle of the street; all available evidence shows that Brown then pushed himself through the driver’s side window, punched Wilson, went for his gun, was shot in the hand, ran, turned around, charged Wilson, and was shot to death.

But that doesn’t matter. And it has never mattered. Because facts do not matter to those attempting to rectify what they perceive as an unjust universe. For those utopian visionaries – and, yes, violent thugs who rob stores are minions of the utopian visionaries — individuals do not exist. Individuals are merely stand-ins for groups. Wilson was a white cop; therefore, he was the Racist White Establishment. Brown was a black teenager; therefore, he was the Innocent Black Victim. The parts have already been written; Wilson was merely unlucky enough to land the starring role.

And so we expect riots no matter what the outcome of the indictment. Should Wilson escape indictment due to complete lack of evidence, the utopians and their rioting henchmen will attribute that acquittal to the Racist White Establishment. Should he be indicted, the utopians and their rioting henchmen will cite Wilson as merely the latest example of the Racist White Establishment. No matter the antecedent, the consequence has been determined in advance: rage, riots, recriminations.

If all of this sounds familiar, that’s because it is.

Alongside the anti-Racist White Establishment protesters taking to the streets in Ferguson in recent weeks, anti-Israel and pro-ISIS protesters have appeared. All utopian visionaries fighting the status quo — self-perceived victims — love their Days of Rage. And these Ragers don’t require evidence to incite their emotions. Evidence regarding individuals is for the reasonable; false stories of victims and villains are the fodder for Ragers.

Whether we’re watching thousands of Muslims across the world protest and riot over cartoons of Mohammed, or whether we’re watching hundreds of people in Ferguson riot over a media-manufactured story about a racial killing, Days of Rage provide the outlet for delusional anger. Radical Muslims need an external enemy to justify their own brutality; protesters in Ferguson need an external enemy to justify their own failure to make good in the freest country in the history of humanity.

Every society has its Ragers. The West’s suicidal impulse to humor those Ragers, however, spells the end of the West. When facts become secondary to emotion, truth dies. And a society that doesn’t value truth cannot survive. Calling out the National Guard in Ferguson while lending a sympathetic ear to the Ragers does little good, long-term. It merely staves off the inevitable surrender of the reasonable to the Ragers.

Good article, but a bit too elegiac. The end is not here yet.

The public influence of the Sharptons and Jacksons is diminishing, not increasing. The Ferguson thing would have died down but for the incitement by Obama and Holder.

Obama turns out to be an overseer on the welfare plantation rather than an inspiration for people to move from welfare America, where the spirit shrivels, into enterprise America, where people make their own and their family history. But Obama has never spend a day in enterprise America himself – he has been carried in a sedan chair all his life and yet imagines himself one of the downtrodden. He has never built anything and can’t imagine what it is TO build something. So he concludes that nobody ever built anything, which justifies his slacker attitude.

However, we heard voices from the black community in this election asking some very pointed questions of the Dems. Things will improve. Think of the Ferguson rioters as future Republicans.

We The People have sent a message to Washington, now lets see if they hear us…..:

      • ARETHEYNUTS

They don’t hear us. The Rats believe “republicans didn’t win it’s just that demoRATS didn’t show up”

        • ltcdmward

Yeah. The so-called 2/3 that didn’t vote that is being heard by Commandante Sub Zero. The crockery just keeps coming in assembly line numbers.

      • Sonnys_Mom

Jackson, was this your design or do you know where it came from? Awesome!

      • Lanna

        Great picture…Great Message!

  • johnlac

King Barack could do a lot to try and defuse the situation…why doesn’t he? Instead of rabble-rousers like Sharpton and Jackson, Obama could meet with the organizers of the various groups agitating for violence and tell them it won’t be tolerated. He doesn’t….why not?

    • kasandra

      Because he’s a putz?

      • johngvanvliet

        he is a liar

    • JacksonPearson

Obama has all ready met with the Ferguson agitators, and told them to “stay the course,” (meaning to continue the burning and rioting)……:

        What a lovely picture.

If I were the white guy Muslim?, Hispanic?), I would hide my face too. He already had a paunchy stomach. His chest has not muscle tone. In ten years he will have moobs. He has money & time for tattoos, but not time and money to exercise or to go to a community college.

His fashion sense is totally gay. Yes, it is gay. His dress style originally started as an advertisement that the back door was open. does he even know the antecedents of his the style he flaunts?

Still he has something going for him. He is the NWO and he could could part in a remake of Space odyssey 2001. No acting or training would be required.

… and no he would no get the part of crew member.

        • tagalog

He’s not hiding his face, exactly. He’s burqa-ing or hijab-ing, or whatever the verb is, in solidarity with fundamentalist Muslim women everywhere. Sisterhood is powerful.

He’s no less white than my kids. DG would have had an easier time passing for Nordic or Western European than my kids.

I don’t like that whole Latin American protester or Arab youth protest look going on there.

The intend of Obama’s secret is to destroy freedom and create a socialist state, you may recall how communism started this is his plan, state control of everything, pure communism which goes hand in hand with the Islamic ideology…. what is right is now wrong and hat is wrong is now right…justice is becoming a joke and Obama does not care he know what he is doing destroy freedom every where he can and he lies and cheat to accomplish this ….to many corrupt political leaders,,,,,,. sad very sad

  • Hard Little Machine

Who cares? Riot, no riot, the city is pretty much finished. Anyone who can leave, will and the remainder will slowly disintegrate into yet more failure.

    • tagalog

If the protestors burn the city down, as they threaten to do, ALL of Ferguson will be on the move, looking for a new place to live.

Unless they successfully demand that the United States government build them a new city. Which I would not rule out as possible.

      • kasandra

Why not. We’re spending $440 million to “rebuild” Gaza.

        • JayWye

And it’s just going to get leveled again.
          Weapons-Grade-Stupid.

      • Sonnys_Mom

Or they could just fence it off and ship in Michelle Obama lunches for everybody!

        • Lightbringer

Oh, no. Nobody deserves a fate like that. Besides, it would violate the Constitutional protection against cruel and unusual punishment.

  • tagalog

If Darren Wilson is no-true-billed, it will illuminate the Larger Truth that white-on-black racism is institutionalized in America, and will justify any rioting that follows.

If Darren Wilson is prosecuted, the rioting to demand a Guilty verdict will continue, as the Larger Truth of “social justice” must be served.

The concept of justice will, of course, be entirely lost. In fact it already has been lost.

If anyone suggests to the mob that rioting constitutes a blow against the rule of law (as opposed to mob rule), that person will be called racist and incapable of seeing black life in America with clear eyes.

So in the end, the prevailing reasoning among the mob will be that rioting is the appropriate response to law enforcement as long as white policemen are enforcing the law as it applies to black people in America.

I look forward to the next incident of claimed white police racism against a black American. The rioting will follow as night follows day.

    • Lightbringer

What is ironic is that Officer WIlson was doing his job of protecting the people of Ferguson, most of whom are black. He has an excellent service record and has shown nothing but respect for the people he serves. This whole thing is being instigated by the Just-Us Department and other higher-ups and is hurting all the decent people in Ferguson, who will be left to clean up the mess they are left with.

    • laura r

indictment is not enough. they want death penalty. that is not enough. they want to kill him themselves. you never know what the whitehouse will decide. thats next in obamas america, coming down the pike.

      • tagalog

First they’ll engage in rioting for a Guilty verdict, then they’ll engage in rioting for the death penalty.

  • PatriotForever

Let the peaceful people protest as is their right under the Constitution and SHOOT some of the rioters and looters to send the message that violence will not be tolerated..that should end the looting!!!

  • kasandra

That was the outer bounds of what I thought I could get away with posting. Otherwise I would, indeed, have used stronger language. Actually, this is part of his “transformational” strategy for the U.S. He sees himself as a revolutionary and there are two components to a revolution – revolution “from above” (i.e., control of the government) and revolution “from below” (i.e., control of the “street”). So he and his regime stir things up from above and from below there is street violence. That’s why he does such things. But he is a putz, too.

In order not to miss the greatest show on earth, I hurried to the local super market, to stock up on snacks. I just don’t want to miss anything! waiting in anticipation.

    • laura r

too much PR too many trailers. showtime is delayed. bring it on.

      • gornisht

Laura, are you telling me that there will not be any Matinee show? Breaking news, super markets and corner stores, say they are running out of snacks for the great event! Is this possible? I trust this super event will not be cancelled because sanity has replaced insanity. And now I heard that Al Sharpton will lead the singing of the Star Spangled banner! Wow, what a bonus.

        • laura r

i have a bad feeling wilson willbe indicted. the big show will still go on & will last last about 1 week to 10 days. there will be vendors selling tshirts & food. people will be bused in in all over. tourists will come to see the aftermath this will be thru xmas.

This is just plain out wickedness. People who are capable of this type of evil would kill and enslave you the minute they are able to. Do not underestimate the merciless evil they WILL practice the moment they can.

  • 1Indioviejo1

Subversive Muslim groups are intervening in Ferguson to further incite the Black population to riot, burn and loot. The idea is supported by DOJ Eric Holder, who is a race pimp himself and has warm feelings for the New Black Panthers. What is there to stop the Muslim savage from ravaging our country now?

  • Sonnys_Mom

“Days of Rage”… now why does that name sound so familiar? Oh wow, ya think maybe Billy & Bernardine will show up?!

    • tagalog

No doubt it is unremembered that after the Days of Rage, the hunt for the Weatherpeople redoubled in intensity, driving the Weather people so deep underground that the Weather Underground was no longer a problem, and the Weather people found straight jobs, matured, and became a little more law-abiding. But that won’t happen with the agitators in Ferguson, of course.

  • laura r

mr. shapiro, why is the verdict taking so long? are they waiting for a major snow storm? lets do a weather check. twitter is full of accts which talk of lynchings from 200 yrs back. its like they getoff on this. they also say even if he is not guilty he “should be indicted becaz of other stuff”. this is what obama wants. lets hope for below freezing temps & 3 ft of snow.

  • laura r

46 years ago there were riots in boston blue hill ave (roxburry or dorchestor area). its is still a burnt out shell. several years later they threated riots again. police chief & mayor said they would shoot. no one came out that night. case closed. easy solution in the old days.

  • laura r

how do you know?? the police said the citizens cant depend upon them to protect. they suggested to get a gun.

  • Pericles

Political Correctness + Appeasement = Social Suicide

  • tagalog

We can only hope. Although I wouldn’t give the protestors credit for being organized enough to be anarchists, except in the broadest possible sense.

  • s;vbkr0boc,klos;

Remember that Ferguson was built as a working class ‘white flight suburb’ for those fleeing the crime and decay of North St. Louis. There is a lesson in there somewhere.

  • tagalog

Why should they vote when they know that nearly half of the white voters support catering to their every demand? There’s no need for them to vote. White people will give them what they want.

  • gornisht

breaking news from the White House which is somewhat tarnished. But here it is, Obama and Holder have agreed to sing along side Sharpton, as a trio! Wow, cannot wait.
