Atrocity

David Horowitz was one of the founders of the New Left in the 1960s and an editor of its largest magazine,Ramparts. He is the author, with Peter Collier, of three best selling dynastic biographies: The Rockefellers: An American Dynasty (1976); The Kennedys: An American Dream (1984); and The Fords: An American Epic (1987). Looking back in anger at their days in the New Left, he and Collier wrote Destructive Generation (1989), a chronicle of their second thoughts about the 60s that has been compared to Whittaker Chambers’ Witness and other classic works documenting a break from totalitarianism. Horowitz examined this subject more closely in Radical Son (1996), a memoir tracing his odyssey from “red-diaper baby” to conservative activist that George Gilder described as “the first great autobiography of his generation.”

There is a human tragedy smoldering in America’s inner cities. Twelve million poor children, mainly black and Hispanic, are trapped in failing government schools that are teaching them nothing. As a result, they will never get a chance at a middle-class life. Virtually every school board and every administration in inner city districts is controlled by Democrats, and has been for over fifty years. Everything that is wrong with inner city schools that policy can fix, Democrats are responsible for.

How bad is the inner-city school crisis? Almost half of black students in public schools, and almost half of Hispanic students drop out before graduation and fail to earn a diploma.[1] The dropout rates are especially high in urban areas with large minority populations, including such academic disaster zones as Washington, DC (57%), Trenton (59%), Camden (61.4%), Baltimore (65.4%), Cleveland (65.9%), and Detroit (75.1%).[2] As a result of high dropout rates, black and Hispanic students in these urban centers are denied the American dream and condemned to spend their lives in grinding poverty instead.

A significant percentage of black and Hispanic students who do manage to graduate are unable to read their own diplomas.[3] Overall, black high-school graduates are four academic years behind their white counterparts in achievement levels.[4] As political science professor Lydia G. Segal summed up the sad state of affairs in her book Battling Corruption in America’s Public Schools: “It is in cities such as New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit, and Philadelphia where the largest numbers of children cannot read, write, and compute at acceptable levels and where racial gaps between whites and blacks and Latinos are widest. It is in large cities that minority boys in particular, trapped in poor schools, have the greatest chance of flunking out and getting sucked into the downward spiral of crime and prison.”[5]

The school boards and school districts that control the public schools in America’s largest inner cities – schools, which year-in, year-out, fail to educate poor minority children – are run by big-government Democrats and progressives, and have been for generations.[6]The public schools are government monopolies run as jobs programs for adults and slush funds for the teacher unions and the Democratic Party. Through these organizations, progressives have fought tooth and nail to prevent bad teachers from being fired and good teachers from being rewarded. They have spent millions on electoral campaigns to deny inner city parents access to voucher programs that would provide scholarships for their children to attend schools that would educate them. These same progressives, fully aware of the bankruptcy of public education, send their own children to expensive private schools, where they will get the education the public schools would deny them. When Vice President Al Gore, a supporter of teacher unions and opponent of school vouchers, was asked why he opposed school vouchers for black children while sending his own son to a private school, he said: “If I was the parent of a child who went to an inner-city school that was failing, I might be for vouchers, too.”[7]

This is a social atrocity that has to be stopped.  “Atrocity” is the first web ad created by an organization I have created called Go For the Heart.  I chose Atrocity to be our first project because what’s happening to poor mainly black and Hispanic children in our public schools is an atrocity, and it is one around which there is a great media silence. That is because the atrocity is being committed by the Democratic Party and its union supporters. “Atrocity” is an attempt to break that silence.

It’s the other way around. Blacks and Hispanics are the perpetrators; whites of all beliefs are the victims. When I see a flash mob of white progressives sucker-punching an innocent black pedestrian, I’ll change my mind.

    • alericKong

So you find fault with Ted Cruz, Condi Rice and Clarence Thomas? You are okay with Bill Ayers and Ward Churchill?

As much as I disagree with Democratic political leadership, at least they have some sense of civility and intellect. It’s not the political bosses raping teenagers and beating up their teacher.

I fear we may end up building good schools, and they will be trashed overnight by psychopaths and drug dealers. It has to start with the people and at the very least ending subsidizes for bad behavior.

      • Silver Gonzales

CIvility? Clinton I was a sexual predator. Clinton II was too busy cutting her toenails when Ambassador Stevens was being raped. Anthony’s Weiner, Barney’s Frank, Smelliot Spritzer, and of course the murderer from Masuchusetts. No Not John Kerry ( although I do accuse him of murder when he bashes Israel leaders to acquiesce to a dying empire as is the US in its present form). Ted Kennedy. Etc…

        • Malcolm Reynolds

          “too busy cutting her toenails”
          and screeching “STAND DOWN”…

          Bravo!!!! kudos to you!!

      • Drakken

You want to end the stupidity? Purge the schools and put the military in charge.

        • alericKong

The military is not suited to handle criminals and psychotics.

First you have to start with entitlements, which encourage broken families. Democrats will never go along with sensible reforms like stop sending Warren Buffet a social security check, because they want to keep sliming Republicans as long as possible.

          • Drakken

The military is more than capable handling anyone put in their charge, if you put them in charge of schools, students will learn, see, they have this really nasty habit of getting the job done no matter the obstacles put in their way. Just take a gander in how ROTC students in high school do much better than their counter parts, results matter in the end, not feelings. When uniform discipline is put back in a learning environment, everybody benefits, as you can see now, the inmates are running the asylum and running rampant over teachers and administrations because nobody wants to hurt the poor precious feelings of these little darlings.

      • Seek

You’re putting words in my mouth, aleric. I’m referring specifically about black lower class behavior. A few ill-chosen, cherry-picked examples (Ted Cruz? He’s not black the last time I checked) doesn’t change that.

Of course, I’m not okay with white Left crazies like Bill Ayers and Ward Churchill. My point, however, is that blacks are violent victimizers, not victims. Race-denying “conservatives” who try to transform blacks into political love objects are not doing anyone a favor. Blacks are a predatory race for the most part. And it wasn’t “progressives” who made them that way. Being a conservative isn’t going to enable a white person to buy black friendship.

Question: How about it if Horowitz actually stood up for the whites for a change instead of wringing his hands over the blacks?

  • http://libertyandculture.blogspot.com/ Jason P

    You’re on to something, David.

Democratic controlled cities have kept blacks in poor schools, poor jobs, with few prospects. It’s a system for the unions at the expense of minorities. They are being killed by compassion without common sense. We have the common sense.

Charter schools (like Eva Moskowitz created in NYC) and vouchers will empower motivated parents in the poor and minority community. Removing union power in politics is a prerequisite. The Democratic Party is owned by the unions and continued suffering is the result. Look at Detriot, Newark, etc.

Our aim, however, isn’t merely minority voters (we may not pick up many votes in the short term.) Concerned whites who are outraged at this failure are the biggest block up for grabs. Go for it!

    • Bamaguje

Nothing is going to change as long as minorities continue voting for Democrats whose policies destroy ethnic minorities.

      • Sheik Yerbouti

They seem firmly focused on destroying the majority culture as well. Their odd goal of a uni-culture has blinded their common sense for decades.

        • kilfincelt

Common sense is in short supply. Witness the statement by Al Bore that “If I was the parent of a child who went to an inner-city school that was failing, I might be for vouchers, too.”

          • Myrtle Linder

The greatest downfall for America is the lack of faith, along with the lack of knowledge of GOD, and common sense. People refuse to use the brains that GOD gave us.

          • trickyblain

Myrtle, you seem like a nice person and all. But it’s actually very, very (very!) hilarious that you speak of brains and common sense, while simultaneously referring to our president as a “Kenyan.” This shows no brains, no common sense, and a person who should be subjected to hilarious ridicule. You know that Birthers are a laughingstock to people with brains and common sense? Right?

          • ZZ

Icky, you know that accepting everything that proved serial liar Obama says on faith is incredibly stupid, right? You know that the parents of children born in America decide what their citizenship is, right? You know that the public has no way of knowing what Obama’s country of citizenship is, right?

So don’t act like you know.

          • BagLady

You may not be aware that Obama is a citizen of the US but I am.

          • ZZ

You aren’t aware of any such thing. It would be impossible for you to know. You just know he is a fellow Marxist totalitarian so you reflexively defend him.

          • WW4

As far as Obama’s citizenship goes, I gotta accept that the FBI, Secret Service, the CIA, the Clintons and every Republican Obama has faced in elections and while in office had not only a determined interest to establish whether or not he was a US citizen, but the resources to do so. Since I haven’t heard from any of these entities otherwise, 6 years now into his presidency, I’m going to go with them, rather than Donald Trump. But you go ahead and “believe” otherwise.

          • Omar

Some on the left refer to the president’s past two Republican challengers in 2008 and 2012 as a “Panamanian” and a “Mexican”, respectively.

          • Carmon Lovett

I couldn’t agree more on this. We also lack compassion to our brothers and sisters.

yes, his child of course deserves this, but not the black child who really needs it. what a hypocrite, but of course we know him well, he became rich on Global Warming hoax.

      • Omar

That is precisely why conservatives need to interact with those communities more. For far too long, the left and its cronies like uptownsteve have been getting away with spreading lies and propaganda against conservatives in order to maintain dominance over poor and minority communities.

        • uptownsteve

We don’t have spread anything about conservatives. Your racist lies and stereotypes speak for themselves. If any black or hispanic person reads the filth on this page and then decides to align themselves with the right they don’t have operating brain matter. Now surprise me by telling me how the Democrats get my vote by keeping me “dependent”. You morons just don’t get it.

          • Omar

Do you realize that I’m Hispanic? In fact, I’m part Puerto Rican. Unlike you, I believe in the American Dream (that includes supporting statehood for Puerto Rico, which is a U. S. territory). You, on the other hand, support race-baiting and often refer to race riots as “uprisings” if they are incited by people of a darker skin tone. You need a reality-check.

          • ZZ

Do you EVER write a comment that doesn’t push phony “critical race theory?” If Democrat policies are better than conservative policies, why don’t they work? Blacks are hurt more by those policies than any other “group.” Even if critical race theory were real, it wouldn’t excuse or even explain the failure of Democrat/leftwing policies. Any individual or group that enacts a policy is responsible for its success or failure. Stop denying accountability.

          • Drakken

The fact that you cheer for your demise shows the level of your ignorance, at this rate I say go for it.

Head on to the mother country if we are so bad, I am sure you would be much happier.

    • http://www.clarespark.com/ Clare Spark

Chris Christie was the featured speaker at a gala for Eva Moskowitz’s charter schools in Manhattan, and supported improved inner city school reform as THE issue that would determine the future of America. See http://clarespark.com/2013/05/26/eva-moskowitz-and-the-charter-school-movement/. “Eva Moskowitz and the Charter School movement.” My report contains links to proof that her charter schools worked in massively improving the test results of black and brown children. And yet New Yorkers voted in her enemy, de Blasio. Something is wormy in the big apple.

      • http://libertyandculture.blogspot.com/ Jason P

Delightful article on Moskowitz’s achievement with her charters in the inner city. I’m glad someone knew my reference. Let’s tell the reader that Eva was formerly a Democratic City Councilwoman. So there are people across the aisle who we can make common cause. I, too, was disheartened to see de Blasio win but I hope the parents of the children in these schools fight him.

    • carpe diem 36

our beloved Potus is a major perpetrator of this.

    • Seek

To the contrary, most big city governments go out of their way to help the blacks — at the expense of whites. That’s especially true if the mayors themselves are white.

  • poetcomic1

The destruction of the black family in America and the replacement of husbands and fathers with GUBMINT is the central atrocity, It is social engineering at the level of a Hitler or a Stalin.

    • winstons

Wrong….it’s lead to enormous racial hate toward Whites and to Blacks voting DEM over 90%, a success by any definition.

      • Silver Gonzales

Therefore are Blacks and Latinos stupid? I am not racist. I just want to understand how blacks can keep voting for a party that seems to direct a system that willfully keeps them under educated and underemployed. Same for US Jews. Keep voting for a party that is obsessed with reducing the dimensions of Israel.

        • Myrtle Linder

WE need to understand that every adult is to a point, responsible for their own rise to a decent living or to living in the gutter. I was raised “dirt poor” but I was determined to raise my children as decent Christian people. (My husband and I began to work at $.75 per hour.) We did not spend our money on things that we wanted but did not need, which make all the difference in how you are able to climb out of the gutter. We bought and served healthy food, not delicious, but unhealthy food. We made every penny count. Thousands simply are not willing to do this, they had rather remain in the gutter, and blame somebody else. This is the most popular excuse used today, it is somebody else’s fault.

This is not to say that I do not know, that many have not had the chance to lift themselves up, but did they all grab the chance if it became available……..?

        • Drakken

Go to Africa and you will see your answer in spades.

        • http://www.facebook.com/aemoreira81 aemoreira81

Short answer: Republicans don’t bother running candidates where blacks live.

        • BagLady

Are US Jews uneducated and underemployed? I wasn’t aware of that fact.

    • http://www.clarespark.com/ Clare Spark

Rehabilitating minority families by itself will not solve the education gap. The enemy is not fatherless families, but teachers unions and the idiot un-progressives who support them to the death, along with the equally ineffectual welfare state.

      • Judahlevi

On the right, we need to quit buying into the left’s idea that people are defined by their skin color. Yes, we can talk about “poor” people but their skin color has nothing to do with it.

People are individuals, not skin colors or genders. When we talk about people the same way the left does, we endorse the idea that grouping and collectivism is correct. It is not.

Unless we change the conversation, we cannot propose the solution. The nation is made up of individuals, not groups. David, and other thinkers, need to change the conversation back to the individual, not the collective thinking of the statists.

        • BagLady

Of course we are individuals but we are many and, from a distance, we can see ‘clumps’ of like-minded people, indoctrinated (whether we like it or not) by society and political propaganda. Their is the historical element too – generations of granny’s cooking separates people as much as religion and the ‘knowledge’ gets in one’s genes quite quickly. So to say that Latinos are this way and Blacks are that, may be a generalisation, but a valid one, on the whole. Of course, there are many other factors to take into consideration before one settles on a definition of the relative term “poor”.

It is impossible to legislate for the individual…. sadly.

          • Judahlevi

It doesn’t matter if we are one or many, grouping and value judgments about groups is wrong. I understand some people cannot get beyond grouping, but that is their weakness to work on. Racists, sexists, ageists, and other people have a hard time with this.

Actually, we should legislate only for the individual. In my mind, it is impossible to fairly legislate for groups. You have much to learn about this philosophy. You must change your way of thinking to understand. This is not easy to do, but it can be done.

          • nelly2004

We have all the legislation we need in my opinion. In our Constitution and Bill of Rights everything is geared toward already individuals and if people would just recognize themselves as individuals and not groups they would realize that and stop clamoring for more laws which are really special interests because as individuals we all have equal opportunity.

        • akwriter

I saw nothing in this article indicating David was making any kind of value judgment about groups of people. He’s merely citing facts and statistics about what is undeniably happening to these groups. This is part of the conversational rot the “progressives” have brainwashed our culture with. We can’t even talk about groups in a factual, statistical way any more – even, as in David’s case, with obvious concern and a genuine desire to fix it – without someone being offended. I see no such “grouping” here.

      • http://www.facebook.com/aemoreira81 aemoreira81

That is disputable…the basis skills needed to have success in education and life cannot be taught by schools. Rather, they must be instilled in the home. At best, the teacher unions are a secondary or a teritary part of the problem. When values were taught at the home, schools were good. When discipline and a work ethic went out the window, school performance followed. Many have the equation backwards…the problem is largely a parental problem. If minority families are rehabilitated, that’s close to 90 percent of the problem solved.

        • BagLady

Totally agree. The same problem is prevalent in European schools where many children are starting school still wearing nappies.

          • http://www.facebook.com/aemoreira81 aemoreira81

…and one isn’t necessarily talking about Pampers or Huggies either! School choice is something that would probably come second—after most of America undergoes a major attitude adjustment towards education. That is why the rest of the world is speeding past America…they never abandoned old-fashioned, tried-and-true values. Once the attitude changes, then the process can begin of “filtering out” the lemons. As it is right now, you can’t truly pinpoint the root problem.

          • BagLady

Are they still teaching Shakespeare and how to wash your blanket in the river? Perhaps education isn’t keeping apace with technology and schools are seen by kids-with-no-prospects as a boring waste of time.

Rote learning is essential in early childhood but needs to begin as soon as the child is cognisant and many parents neglect this responsibility – reading to them at bedtime, teaching them new words, playing with them, discipline. People make the mistake of underestimating these little bundles. By the time they are 12 weeks old they are already showing signs of the character that will stay with them forever. Their bodies are brand new with a neural network just waiting to be programmed by their society. The program is sadly lacking.

      • BagLady

I don’t think I would cope too well as an inner city teacher. It must be extremely stressful. I watched a TV program where the head of a ‘posh’ English private girls’ school swapped places with the head of an inner city government school. She summed up by saying that progress was difficult when most of the day was spent just trying to keep a semblance of order in the class.

Some years ago I visited a small rural village on the edge of the Devonshire Moors, UK. I got chatting to a bunch of young school kids and they told me of the flashy BMWs with tinted windows that drove up from the nearest city and parked outside the school. The occupants would be looking out for the bullies in the playground. They’d befriend one and, playing on the kid’s natural negative ‘attributes’, supply him with bags of ‘sweeties’. He would sell them for pocket money to the others. Many parted with their money happily to try a new ‘sweetie’ and those who refused were bullied. Getting them ‘hooked’ was the goal.

If that was the situation in the countryside then, I dread to think how it is in depressed city suburbs now.

Not sure how easy it is to teach kids on drugs.

      • nelly2004

Fatherless families exacerbate the situation because the foundation of an individual is the family and to minimize the profound effect it has on a person to be brought up missing a relationship with a father figure who ideally would be authoritative in a loving fashion gives them a definite disadvantage in knowledge of how to act and respond in future relationships in general. If they had this valuable grounding from a father figure who actually cared about their well being they would know better how to respond to teachers who may not be teaching discipline without empathy.
Notice the majority of people who are successful and happy in life will tell you they had loving support from their parents.

This is generally accepted along with two other famous n-word quotes of LBJ. This quote was spoken to two sympathetic governors on Air Force One and has never been denied by the governors themselves. Historians generally accept these as true and you must remember that this is from a Texasn plain-spoken wheeler-dealer of a politician LONG before political correctness and is completely in character for LBJ. I think he genuinely thought his ‘War on Poverty’ would be a great accomplishment for himself and the Democratic Party.

          • Marlin B. Newburn

It’s in the book titled, “You Don’t Say”, and therein it provides details with references regarding the LBJ quote.

In the book there are also other very revealing quotes of lefties in their full and corrupt pathological glory.

The black family was never that strong to begin with. And it wasn’t about “social engineering.” The whole idea, if you review the events back then, was to bring blacks into the mainstream. It was a naive view, but it wasn’t a Stalinist crime.

      • William Everett

The black family was much stronger pre-1960′s. Out of wedlock births are almost four times as high now in comparison to the post-slavery era upon until the mid-1960′s.

  • truebearing

The ad goes for the heart alright. The unvarnished truth of this ad will have the Left in an apoplectic rage. It points out the failure of the Progressive education agenda for the children, but more importantly, identifies the underlying ruthlessness and rapacity that enriches leftist leaders at the expense of those children who are in effect being sentenced to spend the rest of their lives suffering because of this corruption. The ad accurately identifies Progressives and their beliefs as evil.

Beyond the constant flow of money to the Leftists, there is another motive for destroying these kid’s lives: it keeps minorities uneducated and dependent on government handouts and the Left’s endless lies. Nothing exposes the Left’s power-obsessed cruelty more vividly than the unconscionable war on minority children that they have conducted for decades.

The best we can hope for in the short run is to break the monopoly and at least get the kids who want to learn out of these horrendous schools. Maybe someday we can prosecute all who have conspired to enslave millions of children.

  • Samo

You could, conceivably with the funds that are spent on admin and infrastructure
have enough one on one with these children to at the least teach them reading and basic math.
Our education system needs a Henry Ford or that type in charge.
Of course kids are dropping out when faced with learning Algebra II with a 100 point IQ. It will never happen.
Giving them hours of homework to do after they spend hours at school makes zero sense.
A little practical reality is what’s needed.
Give them a good basic education.
Teach them what they are capable of learning.

The public education system in this country IS an atrocity! The entire thing needs to be overhauled, as well as allowing school choice. If it’s good enough for politicians and wealthy elites, why shouldn’t it be available for average people? I thought the Left was about choice? I guess only what THEY choose FOR you. How sweet! How fascistic!
Typical Liberal Fascist. Also typically hypocritical. People who claim to care about education and the kids need to put their money where their mouths are. Allow school vouchers. Allow school choice.

  • winstons

But David, the racial hate (blaming Whitey) the DEMS teach in the DEM controlled cities (inner city schools) and churches has lead to Blacks voting DEM over 90%, doesn’t it? If that isn’t success, I don’t know what is!

  • http://www.facebook.com/aemoreira81 aemoreira81

PJ O’Rourke (who leans libertarian) makes a completely alternate hypothesis…one with which I am more inclined to agree as it hits on the laziness of students. You can see that here: http://dailycaller.com/2014/01/29/the-problem-with-public-schools-your-damn-kids-according-to-pj-orourke-video/

The schools are fine…it’s the apathy of the students that is the problem. Should apathetic students really get rewarded? I’m not sure that I see the failing children as victims…I might have years ago, but then I realized that this problem can be easily remedied at the level of the individual student and his or her parent(s). Black America has to fix this problem itself…and demonstrate that it’s deserving of help before help can be granted. I think that the problem is laziness on the end of the pupil (not unlike what O’Rourke thinks).

@american1969:disqus – except that most of those who would benefit school choice don’t exactly show appreciation of it. You ask: If it’s good enough for politicians and wealthy elites, why shouldn’t it be available for average people?, to which I’d answer: Average people who are clamoring for the vouchers haven’t exactly instilled discipline or a desire to learn in their charges to demonstrate that they deserve vouchers. Harsh? You bet, but someone has to tell them the painful truth. The problem is with the users…they don’t come prepared to learn.

    • http://libertyandculture.blogspot.com/ Jason P

One of the great things about choice (whether vouchers or charter schools) is that it allows those motivated parents to move forward. The one-size-fits-all public school monopoly leads to hopelessness. You have no power to take the initiative and do something for your child.

Not every parent is ready to push their children into the learning mode. Some are! First free those who are ready to do something with their freedom. Some time ago I read how motivated parents in poor black neighborhoods were coming up with the money to send their children to Catholic schools. They weren’t even Catholic but they want to take their children out of the environment of government schools.

The left holds the view that until everyone can move forward, everyone has to be held back. Options allow some to take the initiative. Opportunity, not results, is the idea.

      • http://www.facebook.com/aemoreira81 aemoreira81

The issue is letting the wrong people get school choice. (White flight exists in a similar paradigm.) If the wrong people are granted school choice – that is, the indolent or undisciplined. The program that I would support would grant school choice on a case-by-case basis, but not automatically. The parents that were motivated prior already have children ready to succeed.

        • http://libertyandculture.blogspot.com/ Jason P

It looks like we agree that the parents are key.

I grew up in a Catholic working class neighborhood, while my family was one of the few who weren’t Catholic. I can tell you some of the financial hardships accepted by families who paid twice to insure their children went to parochial school (1st via taxes, 2nd out of pocket). Actually, I hated the fact that my friends parents were forced to pay for my education. I hated feeling like a “welfare bum” when my parents were willing to sent me to a parochial school had there been a suitable one.

While I prefer tax credits to vouchers, any incentive to get parents more involved and reward their effort will help marginal families to play a more active role.

Did you see the movie “Stand and Deliver” about the teacher Jaime Escalante? He taught calculus in an inner city high school. At one point in the movie a fellow teacher criticized his effort–she said he should tend to the most neediest, not the most able. Escalante taught those who were ready and defended this priority. The egalitarian left would hold everyone back until the neediest move forward some infinitesimal amount. And even then they fail at that.

          Horowitz has the right message.

          • http://www.facebook.com/aemoreira81 aemoreira81

In that movie Stand and Deliver, what you could tell right away is that these students were motivated. The problem is that people didn’t believe that anyone from East LA would be motivated to succeed…hence the doubters and accusations of cheating.

  • http://tinatrent.com/ Tina Trent

After 20 years actually living in and working with kids in the worst school districts in Atlanta, I am growing increasingly suspicious of claims that school choice is the answer. It is a simplistic and emotional appeal fronting for an industry of privatizers who are not committed to doing the hard work of courageously addressing the real problem — non-parenting.

If you privatize these schools, the people “choosing” the new entities with wads of taxpayer cash will be the same people who destroyed their own communities in the first place. Over and over again we are seeing — in practice — that creating “school choice” in dysfunctional urban districts simply creates dysfunctional charter schools that are even more prone to even less accountable fiscal waste and fraud, more radicalized education, and no education at all. It’s not a silver bullet — except, perhaps, for the advocates and purveyors.

Can school choice improve education? Sure, we’ve seen it happen in the easiest cases. And the teachers unions and boards of ed and patronage jobs are a political blight that undergirds much dysfunctional politics. But we’re talking tax dollars here. And from what I’ve seen, I need to know precisely who is seeking to take over my money with their scheme.

I’d like to ask that Horowitz and everyone else involved in these suddenly blossoming pure choice campaigns to please disclose who is funding and partnering with them, and for how much. I certainly agree that the problem is dire. But the two things that would actually improve schools in the neighborhoods I worked in are precisely the things the school choice crowd is avoiding like the plague, as they pander to precisely the same emotional racial narratives that create dysfunction in the first place: (1) real, comprehensive welfare reform that holds both parents responsible for parenting, and (2) real crime control, including property crime control. That would attract the sorts of people who can actually change a culture to move into those areas and help create transformation from the ground up. And that is far preferable to outsiders cutting deals with corrupt politicians, even if the outsiders’ intentions are the best in the world.

    • Drakken

Bring back discipline to the schools and more male teachers and that would go a long way in improving schools, instead of the coddle a thug narrative that we see now.

  • DaCoachK

I agree with much of what is written, but, as a coach, I have seen the schools up close for two decades. While Left-Wing-Kooks use inner-city schools as the petri dishes for their idiotic theories and policies, young black males are not blameless in this tragedy. I have seen many–too many–eagerly choose the wrong side of the tracks. When the criminality wrecks their lives, they have learned to blame it on whitey–just as intended by Reverends Al and Jesse. If the black male is in such bad shape, then he only has himself to blame. Whitey’s racism bears little of the blame for the high dropout and incarceration rates of black males. Personal choice does.

  • The Facts

If I could give one gift to the hasbara community, it would be the newsflash of how tired, how hackneyed, and how blatant it is when a Jewish megalomaniac pens an article about how Black and Hispanic people are being railroaded by some group that is not expressly associated with the hasbara. It’s like watching the political activism of the 1970s walk around with crutches. Please. Please. Nobody alive believes this crap anymore.

If you consider that it was republicans that spoke out against slavery, and gave women the right to vote, and got rid of the “You have to have property to vote.” Just as it was Democrats that voted to keep them slaves, and then condemned them to inner cities and forbade them to marry outside their own race, you have to wonder why Blacks and Hispanics and every other race allows themselves to catagorized and treated like commodities.

More lies and racism from FPM. The poverty rate for blacks in 1960 was 65%. Today it’s 25% There are more black college graduates, homeowners and business owners today than at any time in history. Blacks and Latinos reject the GOP exactly because of the lies, demonization and stereotyping of us that the right thrives on to scare weak minded white people looking for scapegoats.

When it was discovered what was happening in Atlanta, the cheating scandal, some black parents spoke up, but most didn’t. When it was discovered that the problem had cheated a decade’s worth of young black children out of their education to line the pockets of a little old black lady (Beverly Hall), blacks did little. They didn’t pour into the street and protest to demand justice. When it was perhaps the most justifiable time to do so. I honestly expected torches and pitchforks at the Hall estate and figured blacks would rampage. It didn’t happen. So was my opinion racist? No, I expect the same of white parents who feel their children are being cheated by the schools.

Personally, I was shocked that so few of the black parents said anything (unless it got them on the news). And when they did, nobody said a word about the worst racist attack those children experienced in their lives. A the hands of black people.

  • Rdlake

Beautiful. Never give up, never give in, never compromise. Leftists are always searching for weakness to infiltrate with their Trojan horse. This race baiting, mysogony tactic of theirs can’t last for ever. The Republicans are not interested in fighting this fight, which is why they always get their clocks cleaned. Only when they’re attacked aggressively & exposed for their lies & hypocrisy do we stand a chance to level the playing field. Hoping there are many more of these videos to come. It’ll keep making demagogues like David Horowitz rich but ultimately YOU lose.

    • 2summer4

It kept the demagogue, Barack Hussein Barry Soetoro Obama, in office for two terms dividing Americans., i.e., white vs. black, rich vs. poor, etc. That’s how he kept himself in office and the blacks buy it every time. He tells them they’re ‘victims’ and they buy it. We’re sick of being separated by Obama. If it weren’t for the whites in America, we’d still have slavery – we thank that Republican, Abe Lincoln. Get with it – we all have opportunities in this country. Don’t let Obama keep you down. Stop repeating his talking points. Get out there in the world and do something great.

      • uptownsteve

There is no U.S. Embargo on Communist Cuba. That is a lie invented by the Castro family dictatorship in order to get undeserved sympathy around the world. The United States does business with Communist Cuba. For example, Washington is one of Havana’s top food suppliers. We also do business in many fields. There are only limited sanctions on the Communist dictatorship. Read Humberto Fontova’s books to learn more about the truth on Cuba. If there is really an embargo on Communist Cuba, then why do so many American politicians, celebrities and other people regularly visit the pesthole?

This should not be of any surprise given Margaret Sanger, founded Planned Parenthood, was an advocate for eugenics and as such this racist philosophy resulted in many of the first clinicals being located in the minority (people of color and recent [i.e. 1900] immigrants) and lower income neighborhoods.

You’re racist too. So are black and hispanics. So am I!! Hey maybe it’s normal to be racist. Racist racist racist blah blah blah. STFU steve.

  • Infovoyeur

Big problem, many variables. Only one of which is student motivation. (1) “If the student hasn’t learned, the teacher hasn’t taught.” DUBIOUS. (2) Chinese proverb: “The teacher opens the door. The student walks through.” ACCURATE. As a retired univ. teacher, I returned last autumn to guest-teach for a colleague. WOW. The students had become–stunned. Anecdote: in re texting while driving, students were asked “whether it helped if parents occasionally reminded them of that danger.” How many said yes? SIXTY-FIVE percent. This speaks for, says something for, itself, at least to me. Among all the other issues… Infovoyeur.

  • Myrtle Linder

When and if the Democrats mention these problems, they automatically blame the Republicans, the same with the Kenyan’s mistakes, which are Bush’s fault.

  • ytdontplay

Wait until Obama grants citizenship to the Mexicans, then you’ll see the total destruction of the black race in America. Not by whitey, but by a black man.

    • uptownsteve

This is just plain stupid. If the Mexicans are such a threat to blacks, why are you righties the ones soiling yourselves about immigration reform. Maybe it’s because Obama received 75% of the hispanic vote. LMAO!!!!!

      • UCSPanther

You aren’t paying attention to incidences of gang warfare between black and Hispanic gangs. Lots of racial hatred between the two…

        • uptownsteve

There are incidents of gang warfare between black gangs and other black gangs. Hispanic gangs fight with other hispanic gangs. That’s what gangs do dummy.

          • UCSPanther

All you can do is argue like a child. You progressives are losers who will realize the hard way that truth is not decided by how many people subscribe to it, but by cold hard facts, which are not on your side.

          • uptownsteve

Let me explain something to you. Despite the twisted thinking of you rightwingers, the black and hispanic communities are not defined by the minority criminal element within them. Jeez.

          • UCSPanther

Unlike you, I have no illusions of human nature. The reason that your beloved Hispanics and blacks have a bad name is that they commit more crime per capita. If you actually cared about that, you would look into the problem instead of standing around and blaming us like the partisan hack you are.

          • uptownsteve

The reason why there may commit more street crime is because a larger percentage of them are poor. When white ethnics were the inner city poor they were the preponderance of street criminals. Racist.

          • UCSPanther

When all else fails, call your target a racist.
Must suck to be a partisan hack whose only way to fight is falsely accuse someone of racism.
That schtick is so overused that it means nothing, except as a means of suppressing honest debate.
            How Orwellian of you…

          • Malcolm Reynolds

LMAO! When you recite that, please ignore the article at hand as to why. Moron

          • Bklyn Farmer

Yeah Einstein, “When white ethnics were the inner city poor they were the preponderance of street criminals.” Way back then, the street crime rate was MUCH LOWER. How about this, lets look at a criminal activity for which financial benefit would not be a motivating factor such as rape. According to the 2006 Criminal Victimization in the United States, rape data for the 45-year period revealed that blacks were arrested for rape an average of 6.52 times more often than whites” given that black account for 13% of the US population this is extremely significant.

          • Drakken

Just when you thought it was safe, there ya go throwing out the race card, AGAIN! Ignorant kaffir.

          • ZZ

Gang violence and other street crimes have nothing to do with poverty. Most poor people have smart phones, large screen tvs with cable access and computers. They are also the fattest segment of society. They don’t have to commit murder, assault, rape, burglery, etc. to survive.

          • liberalism is a mental illness

Everyone is racist. Some people can’t come to terms with it. You’re clearly racist. I’m racist but I don’t care. What’s important is that racism doesn’t turn into hatred. Most whites don’t like blacks but they don’t necessarily hate blacks. Racism is natural and its been proven. It stems from a sense of ethnocentrism. Look up “ethnocentrism” on Google. Saying you’re not racist is like saying that you’re s–t doesn’t stink. If you’re not racist then there is something wrong with you.

          • liberalism is a mental illness

Wikipedia: Ethnocentrism may be overt or subtle, and while it is considered a natural proclivity of human psychology, it has developed a generally negative connotation.

A negative connotation that leftards use as a weapon whilst being ethnocentric themselves

          • Omar

You left-wingers are the true hatemongers, dummy. Read the article above to learn the truth about how your beloved Democrats have deprived minorities of a good quality of life.

          • Omar

You are putting words in my mouth, you race-baiter. I never said anything like that. You leftists ave a sick mentality of deriding your political opponents as “racists” and “bigots”. You, on the other hand, would think that whites would be better off under a new segregation system called “John Crow”. I am tired of your annoying race-baiting and intolerance. Get a life.

          • uptownsteve

So what ARE you saying? Do you even know? The poverty rate for blacks was in excess of 60% in 1960. Today its about 25% SO how have “liberal policies” destroyed black America? Please explain.

          • Omar

Maybe you should look at some of the different presidencies over the last half-century and see how their policies have affected Americans of different groups. I would like to point out that the black middle class nationwide has increased during the 1980s and during the last decade. What you really want in America is a Zimbabwe-type political, social and economic system where the government controls everything, and I mean everything. You are like the American equivalent of Robert Mugabe. You are a real bigot.

          • ZZ

You claim the poverty rate for Blacks was 35% higher in 1960. You also claim poverty is the reason Blacks have far and away the highest crime rate today.

So why was the Black crime rate so much lower back in 1960? Racist.

          • liberalism is a mental illness

Ummm. I think you’re talking about Republican policies. I mean hasn’t every government since the 60′s except obumma been Republican?? Man you really are just plain crazy!!

Under communism we’ll have a zero percent poverty rate. Isn’t that great?

You’re not very bright at all.

I am saying that whites would be better off if there were no blacks around.

          • 2summer4

In California, prisons have been locked down because of the racial animosity between black and Hispanic inmates. Some have been killed. They now separate them by race in the more dangerous prisons.

          • uptownsteve

And what about the white supremacists gangs??? They all sweet little angels? Are you insane?

          • Yasha7

          • UCSPanther

I set a trap, you walked right into it. Shows how easily manipulated you are.

          • Bklyn Farmer

According to National Youth Gang Survey: Hispanics and African-Americans constituted the majority of gang members:
            44% are Hispanic
            35% are African-American
            14% are Caucasian
            5% are Asian
            2% are classified as Other

Given the fact that White out number Blacks by a factor of 6x (78% vs 13% of US population – 2012 US Census) the probability of a black being a gang member is 15x greater. Not every White or Black gang member is a member of a supremacists organization.

          • ZZ

White supremacist gangs are prison gangs that formed so Whites could protect themselves from Black gangs.

Blacks and Latins form street gangs before they ever end up in prison and they form them in every Black and Latin neighborhood. Must be conservative Whitey’s fault.

          • dennis x

Black street gangs were formed to protect Blacks from white street gangs. Some of those gangs because The Black Panther Party. The Party once destroyed by the fbi

became the gangs we know today and with the cia introduction of crack into the Black Community and the war on drugs we have the circumstances that exit today.

          • liberalism is a mental illness

What about white supremacist gangs?? Apparently they make up only a small percentage of the prison population but still rule the place. Whether in prison or not in prison whitey seems to rule. Why is that uptownsteve? I think I know what’s wrong with you: despite the overwhelming evidence from the past 5,000 years you can’t seem to come to terms that maybe whitey is superior. Not my fault. Seems like a leftard whether it be uptownsteve or any other leftard the central feature of their personality/ perspective is denial of that which is real. Just Google “liberalism is a mental illness” and you’ll find an article written by a psychiatrist who actually has classified liberalism as a mental illness with its core feature being a hardened denial of facts and reality.

Wrong. Certainly the gangs love to fight each other. But when we were attending a meeting about gang activity and its prevention (we live in a huge Hispanic gang hotbed) we were told that the Hispanic gangs will unite against black gangs and/or asian games over fighting each other every time.

Drug dealing, prostitution, the rare entrepreneur who can serpentine his way through the red tape put there to stymie his chances of success etc etc.

In Britain the high streets are now lined with charity shops and one-armed-bandit machines. Perhaps your towns are similar?

In the east, with little or no state welfare system, they fall back on religion: you need never starve in India while the Hindus continue to carry their daily offerings to the temples. Widows anywhere can find a roof and work in the Buddhist pagodas.

Perhaps we have become isolated in our wealth. On one visit to my ‘home’ we had a rare weather condition and were left isolated and without water. We had to trudge up the hill in thick snow and join those who shared our predicament but had never met. Together, as a community, we solved our problems. No point blaming governments for acts of God, although they are all useless at cleaning up afterwards.

          • BagLady

I hadn’t realized you’re unemployment benefits were finite. Where do claimants go from the ‘dole’ payouts? Do they spiral downwards in ever increasing penury?

Say what you want but, regardless Rep or Dem, the outcome was writ large with automation and the structure of capitalism bounding forward to take the labour out of the market place.

It wasn’t too many decades ago that we were discussing shorter working hours with longer holidays and retirement in one’s 50′s. We were all to receive benefits from the advancing technology. Now they are forcing even the elderly into the ‘labour pond’ with not a chance of a decent job simply because pension funds were syphoned and diverted and borrowed from.

If they flood your ‘labour pool’ with cheap imports, as they are doing all over Europe, it is hardly surprising and I doubt your Reps would turn that 21st century political ‘ideology’ around.

You are nothing more than an item on a supermarket shelf: Buy 2 get 1 free.

They are beavering away to devise a way to improve on that offer: Buy 1 get 2 free.

Hence, Obama is mixed-race.

For somebody to be so dead-set against vouchers for inner-city kids while admitting that he would be for them if he were a parent of one, speaks either to a hypocrisy that strains credulity–or a denial of the basic humanity of those who are socially, racially, or economically different from oneself. Those who read this can draw their own conclusions regarding Mr. Gore’s justifications for his views.

When inner-city parents begin as a whole to instill discipline and a work ethic akin to that in Jews and East Asians, inner-city blacks will have more of a moral high ground on which to demand school choice. As it is, they’re not exactly meriting.

David, I’m here! I am right outside of Chicago. We need to get into the church’s down here – you know that.
Tell me what to do. How can I help? The local politicians have not responded to me (republicans too). I fully agree that this is the greatest human rights abuse our country faces. This is not just about turning blacks to the GOP, I could care less. These are my fellow Americans (just like the ones we lost in the towers), they deserve our help. They are being abused by the democrats in the worst way imaginable – denying them and their children what we all have – or could have is something I carry very heavy on my heart.
I do not want to live the rest of my life knowing I did nothing to try to help right this wrong. Your web page moderators can get you my email. I am waiting!!!
    P.S. I have a feeling I am not alone.

  • 11bravo

    Wow!
I did not read any comments, but I am glad I did. Way to go FP readers.
Sometimes we drag our knuckles on the ground around here (in the comments section), but it is just so Effing awesome to see how passionate so many of you are about this ATROCITY!
    Take a bow!

  • TrueNorth777

Maybe if this issue is brought to light via the churches? Educating congregations to recognize what is happening in their midst then supporting them in fighting the socialist agenda?

  • edgineer

These people are dropping out because they have reached the limit of what they are capable of learning in school. Nothing is going to change that. The only hope these people have is if programs are developed to train low IQ students marketable job skills.

    • Skeptic7

IQ is not stable and can increase.

      • edgineer

        Wrong again.

      • liberalism is a mental illness

Yeah maybe from 60 to 61 but don’t expect any black Albert Einsteins, Bobby Fischers, or Leonardo Davincis any time soon.

      • MukeNecca

“IQ is not stable and can increase

        …or decrease.

      • MukeNecca

IQ is predominantly genetically determined. The IQ of American blacks is much higher than African blacks and it reflects the fact that the former are not pure blacks, but have white ancestors. Obama is half black and, although not terribly smart, he is very good at hiding his sad mediocrity and noisy diletantism.

    • http://www.facebook.com/aemoreira81 aemoreira81

Except for one problem; IQ isn’t static.

  • MLCBLOG

Wow! what a great cause. Kudos.

  • Billiam

It’s called a guaranteed voter base. They will need government to take care of them, hence, they’ll vote for Democrats. Seriously, this has to be intentional. Can the folks at the top rally be THAT dumb as to not notice the failings, and fix them?

  • veritaseequitas

But of course, it is all due to white privilege and racism, rather than the stranglehold the Left has on our country and in this case, our schools. Shame on them.
Make the world a better place, shoot a Leftist.

By the way, David wrote a 69 page pamphlet “Go for the Heart” to explain his position: http://go4theheart.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Pamphlet-Go-for-the-Heart.pdf

  • tagalog

This horror of black and Hispanic people getting the shortest possible end of the social benefits stick is a direct result of two primary things: 1. the trading of the goal of liberty for all for the goal of equality of result, and 2. racially-oriented ideas of establishing equality. The pursuit of equality of result is the culprit here.

I remember when the police, “not black police” were forcing crack into the neighborhoods. My folks told me they remember when the kkk have scientists inventing crack as a drug that would be produced by the poor and seeing the effects of opium in China causing prostitution and gang violence causing them to build a wall to block out western society and then committing genocide against westerners just to stop the drug saving their nation. I have a high school diploma from a school of choice, a university degree in business, a license in a skilled trade, union affiliations, and pages and pages of certs and even certs in multiple skilled trades and I still get laid off after clearly doing a better job than EVERYONE on the site along with other blacks. Police treat me like crap most of the time. That’s why the families are breaking down. Also, the record companies won’t produce artists unless they’re promoting the drug and prostitution culture, but every forgets that before the kkk took of their hoods and put on suits, African Americans were not drug abusers or sellers, but were inventors, business owners and social leaders worth noting and think it’s just something about black skin. Anyone who can’t see this clearly is being stupid, not a pejorative term, but literal, not taking the time to see why. Melanine molecules that make my skin black are not prone to violence you idiot, many of your grandparents were kkk members and were super racists (they won’t tell you the whole of it), and they took their position in society not earned it by superiority, then they raised your parents against ethnic minorities and low-key racist and now you watch the news and the effects and come up with the simple simon dunce-dunce theory that it’s something about blacks and that are “no-good”

    • Drakken

And this is the black thought process on full display, nothing less than black grievance theater on full display. Glad to know you blame every problem on whitey, so your going to have to pardon us whites as we don’t give a rats azz anymore, and that we will no longer accept fault and guilt for your failures.

    • liberalism is a mental illness

Maybe blacks are just stupid! Just look at Africa. Need I say more? I mean there is far more evidence to support the idea that blacks are stupid than the two lame conspiracy theories you mentioned as the cause of black failure. The “kkk inventing crack” apparently to impoverish blacks and the “kkk taking off their hoods and donning suits” are just lame conspiracy theories and whining. Black people enslaved black people not whites. The first American to own slaves was a black “brotha.” Just listen to some rap if you can bear it. Google “Zulu Kingdom” while you’re at it. In the Wilkipedia article you’ll see the the currency of the Zulu in the 19th century was cattle!!!! LMFAO!! All whiteys fault no doubt.

      • edgineer

Google “IQ by country” to check that out.

        • liberalism is a mental illness

Lol!! I just Googled “IQ by country” The average IQ all over the world is about 100 except for African countries with a dismal average of 65. Good lord that’s a big gap!! Thanks Ed. Everybody Google “IQ by country”

    • randy harrison

I saw the kkk in my home town as a kid in the 60′s. They could see what was happening to their org and they shook off the sheets ran for political office on the democratic ticket. They now control all the government offices, schools, businesses, licensing, permits and law enforcement. They damage that has been done to the black community is far beyond what the klan could have done.
They keep getting re-elected by the very people they have cheated is even more amazing..

Apply for a job at Disney. You have a great knack for fantasy.

      Or is it, paranoid delusions?

By the way, who programmed you?

      • Robert Preston Smith

What you say can’t change memories if what actually happened in my and my family’s y life. As an older Detroit about what the stress team was and they’ll tell you I it was a group of Klan cops who pushed crack in the city.

  • Marlin B. Newburn

What adds to the tragedy as accurately described in the article is how inner city black and brown people continue on in mindless, servile devotion to the Democratic party.

Pathological altruism from morally corrupt leaders breeds learned helplessness – and slaves.

    • http://www.facebook.com/aemoreira81 aemoreira81

Well…when you don’t have a Republican alternative for whom to vote…

      • Marlin B. Newburn

It still boils down to who the slaves choose to represent them, and how much of their life self-sabotage they want financed and supported by the government.

If a conservative Republican were to run in a black or brown dominated district, they’d lose hands down. Take away “free money” with a sudden expectation that you’re to take responsibility for your life to include the consequences of your choices? Staying a child appears to be preferable to the self-oppressed and destructive groups.

  • PouponMarks

Public service unions should be declared illegal, as they were before JFK and his brother, Red Ted changed the law. This would dissolve all teacher unions. Next, make ALL schools private, run by competing companies that are measured by a charter. The state can give money directly to the parents, and let them choose the school that they want for their children. If some want to send their kids to an indoctrinating Marxist sausage factory, fine. Other parents have other ideas.

Public schooling was started by Progressives/Marxists as a means to turn out people that fit elite ideas of units of production. There is every reason to believe that universal private schools will vastly outperform public schools, just as the supermarket you go to is privately owned and competes with others. Can you imagine a government run supermarket? If that’s what your ideal is, I have a Post Office to sell you.

  • Michelle

Am I wrong here ? Don’t Asian children succeed in the same schools or am I completely OTT? I think that it has more to do with the culture and the handouts than the schools.

  • Sussex Girl

As a teacher (middle school science and college English), I’m tired of hearing that American students are behind their counterparts in Europe and Asia and that the American educational system is a dismal failure. A recent report (don’t remember the exact source, sorry) found that when black and Hispanic student scores are factored out and white and Asian student scores are looked at in isolation, American students are NOT falling behind students in European and Asian countries. But because this nation has been fed lies for so long, many people here have bought into the failure-of-the-system bit, and states are continually requiring further standardized testing of the students because this will somehow fix things.

In NJ, every four years or so going back twenty years, a new test is rolled out. We went from the initial test to GEPA/HEPA to NJASK to the PARCC, which starts next year, all at mere millions to the taxpayer. To be clear, all this testing has not made me a better teacher nor my students better students. The issue is the kids in the inner cities. Those are the students who, by and large, are dragging the scores down. Let’s leave performing schools alone to do the good job they’re already doing and look to fix what’s happening in the failing schools (and no, pouring more money into a bottomless pit is not the answer). It’s no surprise to me that two of the six districts named on Mr. Horowitz’s list, Trenton and Camden, are in NJ.

In Minnesota, the land where everyone is above average and homogeneity in enforced through the subliminal rules of the “Jante Laugen”, high school graduations rates for Hispanics are the worst in the nation and second worst for blacks. Gee, I thought Minnesota was the land of plenty where liberalism pervades the cultural, refugees are welcome and everyone is lifted up. It is actually the most racist place I have ever lived which includes the northeast, the south and the west coast.

    • Drakken

Silly libtard, the liberal establishment has been throwing billions at the inner city problem for years and they are still uneducated, and here you are blaming lack of diversity? You are effing stupid! See, in MN the old world of a hard work ethic and no excuses are the norm, no matter how hard you bloody liberals try to destroy it.

  • Maynard

Why aren’t some of the “Blacks in high places” such as our president, some senators, congress persons and others doing something about this? We “Little people” look at it and wish for their betterment but are powerless. I believe that they want to “keep them down” so they can better control them i.e. offering them free cell phones, food stamps. This gets them votes and the cycle continues.

  • steves5687

What keeps these minorities down besides their own cultural prejudices against education is a deliberate policy by the Democrats and the race hustling industry to preserve an important part of their voter base! These are the sacrificial lambs whose lives the Dems deliberately destroy in order to maintain power and accumulate wealth. Don’t forget that all the race hustlers (ie. Sharpton, Jackson, Wright, Fairycan etc.) and the teachers unions and other govt agencies enrich themselves through the ongoing race hustle and the people they purport to help be damned!
