33% Rise in NYC Murders Under Bill “Soft on Crime” de Blasio

*Oct 20 - 00:05*

Who could have predicted that electing a Dinkins aide whose only calling card was viral videos made by his obnoxious son and junkie daughter running on a 70s platform of class warfare, racial tensions and empowering criminals would backfire?

As his first month as police commissioner under Mayor de Blasio winds down, Bill Bratton is already facing some sobering news — a 33 percent spike in murders across the city.

According to the latest statistics released Tuesday, there have been 28 homicides so far this year compared to 21 in the same period last year.

That puts the city on course for at least one murder a day.

Last year, the Big Apple racked up 334 homicides in 365 days, the lowest in the city’s recorded history.

“This is the residual effect of de Blasio’s backlash against stop-and-frisk,’’ the source said. “Cops aren’t stopping people and taking guns off the street, which emboldens the criminals,” the source said.

Another veteran investigator agreed, saying, “Cops are reticent about making stops because they don’t want to get punished.”

Police statistics also for the past 26 days — the most recent figures available — show that gun recoveries are way down. There was a drop of 31.1 percent, or 208 guns recovered compared to 302 last year.

As I wrote before, much of the gun violence in America is really gang violence. And if you don’t control the gangs, you turn into Chicago. Stop and Frisk was one of the best tools for controlling gang violence and protecting black communities.

Now Bill de Blasio has taken that tool away and violence is on the increase.

Interestingly, the people opposed to stop-and-frisk don’t seem to have an problems with the increase in murders. Maybe they’re waiting to see if this is a real trend or maybe they just don’t care.

  • tagfu222

The liberals don’t care about the deaths of young black men.

    • truebearing

True, but they care even less about the deaths of young white men, unless it costs them power.

      • Terence Sommer

        They probably rejoice.

    • 1stworlder

Harrisburg’s mayor “gimme dat” Thompson ran on the platform that she would attack cops careers if they shot blacks, especially at 2 am on a Saturday night when they were on their way to church. The summer after she was elected the local NAACP asked the governor to declare martial law after 12 black on black shootings in one month.

      • Aggie95

I have long laughed at the liberals blaming gun violence on the NRA …its my humble opinion that if you want to pretty much end gun violence in this country don’t allow democrats to own guns

Wow. I’m disappointed but not surprised. Mr. Greenfield, while you and I voted for Joe Lhota this past November, most New Yorkers who voted looked the other way and voted for the Marxist lunatic Warren Wilhelm, Jr. Now, as a result of leftist misinformation and propaganda, New York is already experiencing a rise of crime. Even Bloomberg (who ridiculed those who have legitimate concerns about how crime would rise under his successor, Wilhelm) had the decency to support tough anti-crime policies like stop and frisk. Thanks to ignorance and propaganda, New York seems to be heading back to the condition that it was in the 1970s and 1980s in a few years. We need to vote Wilhelm out of office in the 2017 elections. We need to save New York.

  • Chris Gait

Wow, that was fast! But just give him some time and I’m sure he can multiply the result.

  • UCSPanther

Welcome back to the 1970s, New York. Disco may be dead, but the neighborhoods where you don’t dare set foot outside after dark and the “Muggers’ Paradise” subways will always be there to remind you of that quaint time…

    • http://libertyandculture.blogspot.com/ Jason P

When we see remakes of “Death Wish” and “Fort Apache, the Bronx” it will be the 70s all over again. Now who today could play Charles Bronson’s role?

  • Omar

Now would be a good time to post some posters saying the following:

“The murders are coming back. It’s Warren Wilhelm, Jr. (Bill de Blasio) time!”

“The muggings are coming back. It’s Warren Wilhelm, Jr. (Bill de Blasio) time!”

“The graffiti is coming back. It’s Warren Wilhelm, Jr. (Bill de Blasio) time!”

  • Fed Up

Well, on the bright side it’s mostly thugs killing thugs…and Obama’s wards and voters.

  • Marc Solomon

Bill Bratton made a big mistake hitching his wagon to this administration. Now his reputation as a crime fighter will go down the toilet.

    • Omar

At least he isn’t as bad as Lee Brown. Lee Brown was awful. He essentially let the Crown Heights Riots continue for three days back in 1991. It is ridiculous how he got elected mayor of Houston in 1997. He should have been barred from running for political office after his disastrous role as New York City’s police commissioner.

  • truebearing

de Blatherio can’t be bothered by people murdering each other. He’s too busy sniveling about the snow.

An actor dies from heroin overdose and the media acts like it is the tragedy of the century. Democrat politicians posture mightily about prosecuting the people who sold Hoffman the drugs that killed him, but those people are small-time dealers. You won’t hear a word about cracking down on the Trinitarios, MS-13, or any of the gangs responsible for trafficking the large volumes of heroin. They’re also the ones committing the vast majority of the violent gun crimes that the Left uses to justify banning guns. Once again, the ends justifies the means. Let street gangs terrorize and kill people if it facilitates the Left’s sick political agenda.

  • DaCoachK

NYCers deserve this communist that they voted for. In spades. NYC is headed for a repeat of the Dinkins years.

    • Omar

Don’t forget that things were not so great under Ed Koch, either. Some people praise him without knowing that Koch didn’t care about public safety at all. That explained why the subway cars were covered with graffiti and and subway system itself had all sorts of crimes. With Wilhelm in power, New York is heading back to the way it was under Koch and Dinkins. New Yorkers need to vote Wilhelm out of office in the 2017 election in order to save New York City.

      • johnnyglock

Why do you seem to care so much that DiBlasio changed his name?

  • Terence Sommer

Who cares about NYC. Let it burn. If they voted like idiots, who cares, I say. This may have a silver lining however, when America sees NY decline once again because of the idiot they voted in, it may be the one last sober reminder America may get, one last chance.

  • http://libertyandculture.blogspot.com/ Jason P

It’s still early to tell. Stop and frisk was reduced from its peak to under 10% in number during the last year of the Kelly regime. Of course, the courts stepped in to force the issue; and Bloomberg was appealing it. Comrade Bill ended the appeal process.

The change in tactic was slow but we should expect to see an increase, and a growing increase. By the end of the year the full story should be apparent.

  • sundance69

Holder needs to send some guns to NYC like he did to Mexico. Let the little thugs have a field day killing each other off once and for all. Just have the sanitation dept. place some dumpsters around the area so the bodies don’t litter the streets. Garbage in…..garbage out. Oh happy day.

  • wreed22

Well, the program to reduce inequality is working. The pool of possible murder victims is rising. Pretty soon every New Yorker will be equally at risk. Bravo!

  • Hard Little Machine

It’s kind of a self correcting problem in the longer run. Whoever can leave will leave, whoever can surround themselves with security will do that. Everyone else, keep voting Democrat or Titanic or whatever.

  • Richard Johnston

This is not fair. The cold weather this year is much more conducive to murders. Upset with the frigid weather, those victims of an oppressive Mother Nature have no coping mechanism other than to strike out violently so that their oppressed voices can be heard. “No warm weather; no peace.” “Cold weather; get shot with my piece.”

  • Richard Johnston

The victims are mostly males. Expect Eric Holder to file a disparate impact lawsuit any day now. Maybe, to achieve equal outcomes, NYC can distribute whiskey and hand guns to women….

  • GuateNY

    Bring back “Giuliani Time”!

    • johnnyglock

No you mean bring back Bloomberg time. Guiliani was a schmuck.

  • RedRiver38

NYC is headed for disaster under this moron. Why did you fools elect this twit?

    • johnnyglock

You know nothing and aren’t from here. So shut the fuck up.

  • Irwin

Move to TORONTO, so peaceful here in Canada.
