ADL Boycotts Jewish Newspaper Over Exposure of School Textbooks that Promote Muslim Brotherhood

The story began when Charles Jacobs of Americans for Peace and Tolerance began taking a closer look at some of the textbooks being used in Newton schools in Massachusetts.

The ads cover research by concerned parents and students that has revealed the presence of anti-Israel texts in Newton schools including “The Arab World Studies Notebook,” which claims that Israeli soldiers murdered hundreds of Palestinian nurses in Israeli prisons; “A Muslim Primer,” which claims that astronaut Neil Armstrong converted to Islam, but that the anti-Muslim U.S. government warned him “to keep his new religion to himself or he could be fired” from his government job; “Flashpoints: Guide to World History,” which asserts that Tel Aviv, not Jerusalem, is the capital of Israel, and that Jerusalem is the capital of “Palestine”; and other materials.

With Open Newton Schools, Americans for Peace and Tolerance challenged parents to look at the hateful material for themselves.

How bad are some of these materials? Take a look at A Muslim Primer which claims that…

  • Claims that the best way to understand Islam is through writings of Sayyid Qutb, the father of modern Islamic extremism whose writings inspired Osama Bin Laden [pp. 132-3]
  • Claims Jews and Christians appreciated rule by Muslims and that Jews admired Mohammed. In reality, Jews and Christians had the status of dhimmis. They lacked the legal rights of Muslims and had to pay a protection tax. Both communities were subject to sporadic massacres and violence.
  • Under Islamic law, “Women’s testimony is worth half of man’s. This is an attempt to forego distraction from family responsibilities and protect women from the rigor and discomfort of prolonged trials. It also reflects a feeling that woman’s emotional nature may prevent her from being as objective as men.” [p. 174]

Apparently women, like Jews and Christians, really like Islamic oppression. And Muslim Brotherhood propaganda is the best way to understand Islam.

And then there’s the Arab World Studies Notebook

  • Includes Poem by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish about Jews: “The usurper’s flesh will be my food/Beware – beware – of my hunger/and my anger!”
  • Claims that: “Muslims sailed across the Atlantic and “discovered” the New World in the year 889. … Muslims spread across North, Central, and South America and throughout the Caribbean before the arrival of Columbus. Later, English explorers in North America supposedly met “Iroquois and Algonquin chiefs with names like Abdul-Rahim and Abdallah Ibn Malik:

Violent bigotry and revisionist history together at last… in Newton schools. And some antisemitism too in the Flashpoints Country Briefing: Israel-Palestine.

  • Claims that “Fundamental Judaism” is the reason “Israeli Defense Forces feel free to invade and re-occupy Palestinian territory at will.”
  • “Zionist settlers feel justified in driving Palestinians from the land…they’ve also pulled off some high-profile terrorist attacks.”

Those pesky Zionist settlers and their high profile terrorist attacks. Not like that nice Palestinian leader Yasir Arafat.

So the ADL jumped into action to… claim that nothing was wrong.

Controversy continues to swirl over a statement released by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP) and Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston ( JCRC) claiming that charges by Americans for Peace and Tolerance (APT) President Charles Jacobs of anti-Israel material in the Newton Public Schools were groundless.

Neither ADL nor JCRC has agreed to release its findings in order to support their joint statement in a Letter to the Editor in the Nov. 15 issue of The Advocate, where the organizations’ leaders wrote that they have done a “careful review of the materials at issue,” concluding, “We trust that this is reassuring to members of our community.” In a subsequent interview reported in this newspaper, ADL New England Regional Director Robert Trestan only reiterated that “the [APT] ad is misleading. It is taken out of context.”

I’m not sure what kind of context, “Women’s testimony is worth half of man’s. This is an attempt to forego distraction from family responsibilities and protect women from the rigor and discomfort of prolonged trials. It also reflects a feeling that woman’s emotional nature may prevent her from being as objective as men.” would be good in.

Perhaps the ADL could educate us on that. Or it could just boycott the Jewish newspaper reporting what is going on.

Despite being hit with an ADL boycott – ADL pulled all their advertising when they learned the paper was going to print an article questioning their “report” on the Newton schools – the Advocate continues to cover the story straightforwardly

The textbook is crap if it says the Armstrong converted to Islam. It shows very poor scholarship in writing and editing the book.

“Since the early 1980s, Armstrong has been the subject of a hoax saying that he converted to Islam after hearing the adhan, the Muslim call to prayer, while walking on the moon. The Indonesian singer Suhaemi wrote a song called “Gema Suara Adzan di Bulan” (“The Resonant Sound of the Call to Prayer on the Moon”) which described Armstrong’s conversion; the song was discussed widely in various Jakarta news outlets in 1983.[135] Other similar hoax stories were seen in Egypt and Malaysia. In March 1983, the U.S. State Department responded by issuing a global message to Muslims saying that Armstrong “has not converted to Islam”.[136] However, the hoax was not completely quieted; it surfaced occasionally for the next three decades. A part of the confusion stems from the similarity between Armstrong’s American residence in Lebanon, Ohio, and the country Lebanon which has a majority population of Muslims.” -wiki

Really what purpose does the ADL serve other than providing Foxman with a very good living for far too long? If I’m not mistaken I believe he even came to the defense of George Soros. Follow the money.

    ADL – Accomodating Dhimmi League?

    • defcon 4

I wonder if the ADL might not be getting its funding from islam0fascist NGO’s, thus compromising its honesty and integrity. If they’re a non-profit I think they have to hand over their list of donors to anyone who asks.

    • Drakken

I call them jewicidals, the very same folks that didn’t believe a certain guy with a funny mustache when he told them what he was going to do. The very same people today who refuse to listen to muslims and what they tell them they are going to do to them if given a chance.

      • DB1954

lol@jewicidals. I shouldn’t really laugh though. It’s sad the lemmings seem to predominate in too many precincts these days.

  • defcon 4

This is disgusting and depressing news. I believe it was Pamela Geller who said: “truth is the new hate speech”.

  • phillyfanatic

Odd that so many lib Dems and the MSM just think diversity, multiculturalism should be pursued no matter the foreign or domestic policy restraints against Isalmofascism and terrorism. They want Muslim propaganda in all our school books but mention the Reformation or the Great Awakening in American history, and the insanity goes out of control that none of the history of the Judeo-Christian historical movements can be learned. But, Islamofascism, you bet, bring it on to brainwash with other liberal nostrums.

    • carpe diem 36

it was not used to be like that at all. this is something new the left has invented, i believe to subvert the USA and destroy it from within.

  • ML NJ

I would certainly agree that one of the best ways to learn about Islam today and the Muslim Brotherhood is to read the writings of it intellectual founder, Sayyid Qutb. I suggest =Milestones= and =Social Justice in Islam=.

Have a look at an old annotated Koran too The one I have was originally published in 1917 by Maulana Muhammad Ali, and has a good index so you can quickly find all the good passages about beheading infidels &c.

    Know the Enemy.

  • lin

Islam, at it’s root is the Antichrist. It is the Devil. It’s teachings do not make people behave more civilly. It’s a discriminatory, hateful political systme begun by the NUT, Mohammed….

  • laura r

doesnt newton mass have a large jewish population? has that changed? maybe the jewish families send the children to private schools.

    • rita

Unfortunately these are the same liberal jews that vote demoncratic AKA anti semitic . IMO

  • SDLakeshore

This is outrageous and the Newton school district parent’s need to come together and hold someone accountable. Sayyid Qtbd was no choir boy and he is well known and far read by radical Islam revivalists. The ADL should be held accountable as well for supporting these defamatory lies against Christians and Jews and about Islam, and at least for their ideological prejudices.

    • gena

we tried and got laughed at and many in Newton are the same jews who vote democratic and for Obama, so it would be like implicating themselves since they voted for these maggots

  • Susan

I have ha my eye on the ADL for years, and for years they have been a tool of the far left. Sadly many Jews, especially elderly ones, don’t see this and think that they are on the side of Israel (and the angels). Nothing could be further from the truth. Abe Foxman is a narrow-minded, petty, bigot and the ADL is so allied with the DNC that they care more about its agenda than they do Israel or Judaism.

  • v

What is wrong with those leftist Jews like Abe Foxman ? Better yet why do they keep referring to themselves as Jews while constantly demonizing Jews and Israel yet elevetaing Jews’ and Israel’s haters. Based on their beliefs, they have nothing in common with Jews or Israel. It is a puzzle to me. I dismiss it as mental illness.

  • carpe diem 36

and i thought that this kind of indoctrination happened only in the Soviet Union. apparently the dept. of ed. importer it to the USA.

    • carpe diem 36

why does this comment require an edit?

  • nat

just tells you how many liberal jews are sell outs, no wonder we have such rise in anti semitism, liberal jews are siding with anti semities everywhere and every time

  • tom_billesley

Perhaps you should clean your keyboard. The caps lock and exclamation mark are getting stuck. It may be the spittle and bile.

  • Tanks-a-lot

I wish that Israel would get bigger and remove more Kebab.

  • Daniel Greenfield

Clozapine was invented by the Jews

  • UCSPanther

When the anti-Semite is unmasked and called out, it generally goes beserk, spewing hate speech or generally idiocy, as we are seeing here…

  • defcon 4

No wonder the sputtering Jew hater won’t use it.

  • laura r

i thought karl marx didnt like black folks. when did this global business get into communism, or socialism? 60 yrs back? if jews like multiculturalism so much, why did they run from the black & hispanic areas? im jewish, i find that accusation an insult. george soros never took a subway, blame him.

  • UCSPanther

Yeah. And you are in favor of collective punishment for anyone who has even a stitch of Jewish DNA…

  • PAthena

“Multiculturalism” was invented by the then Prime Minister of Canada, Pierre Eliot Trudeau in order to help solve the situation of Quebec, with its Francophone citizens. Trudeau meant that Canada was “multicultural,” with both French and English speaking populations.

Try Mecca or the Turd Reich for uniformity and inbreeding.

  • Josh

Manaphy spends most of her time at American Renaissance. I found one good article there, but if one is not careful they could go down a dark road.

  • Manaphy

    What do you mean?

  • Jsjk

Initially Trudeau spoke of Canada as a “bi-national” nation (British and French). But then a Ukrainian, Paul Yuzyk, from Manitoba had argued that Canada was comprised of more than two nationalities, and that the proper term should be “multiculturalism,” not “bi-culturalism”. He convinced Trudeau. And Yuzyk is now known as the “father of multiculturalism”.

  • DB1954

AR is edgy in a-little-too-racially-focused kind of way, IMhO.

  • Josh

The whole discussions on race, the laws and the fighting remind me of the differential equations and graphical descriptions of a swinging door.

Except I do not think there is necessarily a dampening effect. Instead many politicians act in a forcing manner meaning the whole system destroys itself.

The politicians I mean are the usual suspects.

  • josh

AR makes valid points. Subsequently they go over the top

I’ve read 3 articles there. One was linked by a poster here. It was pretty good. But judging from comments and 2 other articles I read I think they believe blacks are genetically inferior. I do not think they know enough genetics.

People do not have to be a geneticist to be able to speak. People pick up quite a bit because a family member, friend or acquaintance has a genetic problem, or they raise livestock or they own hunting dogs or what they pick up form biology class and reading science mags (diseases, discussions of race, anthropology.

What I think is wrong with the readers of AR (or VDare) is that they are punch drunk. They have been put upon starting in the very early 1970s so much that they are very, very angry.

  • josh

I found a one good article there. But the the whole tone and tenor of the site made me not want to cite articles from there even if I found a good one.

    Same goes for VDare

  • DB1954

I think VDare is the same outfit, but I could be wrong. Actually I’ve read a lot of good stuff there, but I’ve also seen some things that look a bit too genetically overwrought.

  • Toa

You folks are right about these sites. They seem to miss the main point: the success of Western Civilization was not wrought due to the whiteness (ugh- that sounds PC :P) of the forefathers, but due to their core beliefs based on the Hebrew and New Testament Scriptures.
