Bill de Blasio to Boycott St. Patrick’s Day Parade

bill de blasio

After boycotting snow removal, William Wilhelm Jr. aka Bill de Blasio will be boycotting the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Bill de Blasio doesn’t seem like a fan of parades in general. Before the election he showed up at the Columbus Day Parade and claimed that he wasn’t doing it to support Columbus.

Wilhelm Jr. isn’t a fan of St. Patrick either because the parade doesn’t allow gay rights signs. That will make Bill de Blasio the first mayor since Dinkins to pull this stunt.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio says he won’t be marching in the nation’s largest St. Patrick’s Day parade this year in protest for gay rights.

The Democrat said he won’t march along Fifth Avenue because of organizers’ refusal to allow gay-pride signs in the parade, the Associated Press reported.

Organizers said gay-rights activists are allowed to march but cannot carry signs because it could take away from the parade’s focus on honoring Irish tradition.

Organizers predict more than 1 million people will attend on March 17.

And how many of them voted for Bill de Blasio? But you can sympathize with Bill’s position. His wife is a lesbian after all.

The Sandinista mayor’s position though isn’t radical enough for the even more radical left.

LGBT leaders and other officials, including Public Advocate Tish James, wrote an open letter to the mayor yesterday in the Gay City News calling on him to “Ban Uniformed City Personnel in Discriminatory St. Pat’s Parade.” The police commissioner and uniformed police, firefighters and other city personnel typically march in the parade down Fifth Avenue every year.

“The presence of uniformed police and firefighters in such a procession sends a clear signal to LGBTQ New Yorkers that these personnel, who are charged with serving and protecting all New Yorkers, do not respect the lives or safety of LGBT people,” they wrote. “We are asking you to direct all City departments not to organize marchers for or allow personnel to participate in this anti-LGBTQ procession either in uniform or with any banner that identifies them with the City.”

And then maybe compel the NYPD’s Irish cops to march in the Gay Pride Parade instead.

The St. Patrick’s Day parade predated New York City. It will be around long after Bill de Blasio is sleeping in one of those specialized nursing homes for old leftists.

Why on Earth would anybody think it appropriate to have gay-pride signs at an Irish parade anyway? Do these perverts really feel the need to stick their noses into everything?

    • uptownsteve

      No Irish gays?

      • Softly Bob

Even if there were, why should they turn an Irish parade into a gay parade? There are probably Irish Hindus too, but if they were trying to turn it into a Hindu parade, I’d complain about that too.

      • Drakken

This is a little too complex for your line of thinking, now go ahead and shout racist, that’ll work.

The narcissistic homosexual craves attention more than a dog that has been abused all of its life does.

  • Omar

Warren Wilhelm, Jr. has problems, period.

  • DontMessWithAmerica

    I was very unhappy when
I had to move from New York because I loved that town. And I was doubly
unhappy about having to move to Canada. Today I realize how fortunate I
was. These moves have saved my teeth because between Obama and this fruitcake I
would be grinding my teeth down to the gums. It is not just the presence
of these revolting individuals but the
knowledge that my neighbors helped bring them in and who wants to live among

  • Habbgun

The Irish have done a lot to make the corrupt Democratic machine a permanent part of NYC. You would think Wilhelm would at least appreciate.

  • moovova

Gonna have to wear a spot o’green on Saint Paddy’s Day.

  • mendezjb

What do Gay Rights have to do with a Catholic Saint and a celebration of Irish Heritage?

Can Catholics carry signs that say “Gays Repent” in Gay Pride Parades?
    Me thinks not

    • glpage

Using the sort of logic that seems to be prevalent among LGBT folks, you would think they wouldn’t mind the presence of the Catholics.

    • laura r

gays are the new blacks. everything & anything is about them. attention seekers. children, narcissists. bor-ing.

  • Yulia Demkin

For de Blasio it is personal; St Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland.

    • john spielman

now that’s funny ,i wish i could have thought of that!

  • Elizabeth Cape Cod

Why does de Blasio think gays have a right to crash Irish parades? Do the Irish insist on crashing gay parades?

    • Clinkshrink

      Dear Elizabeth:

Who in the hell would want to crash a gay parade? I personally think they’re a lot of fun, though a bit outlandish at time.

When my son was nine years old I took him grocery shopping, and we acidentally ran into a gay rights parade. Out in front of the parade was a six foot three woman, carrying an Episcopal Church flag, two alter servers swinging censors in back of her, and in back of them about a hundred choreographed guys in skin tight shorts with a gay rainbow emblem sewed on their shirts, collectively doing a 1930’s Busby Berkely dance routine. Across the street were religious fundamentalists with signs with flames painted on them, and large letters spelling out “You’ll burn in hell!”

My son, who at the time knew nothing about homosexuality, was on the ground laughing so hard het almost wet his pants. The cop on duty wanted to kill everybody, and he informed me he was sent to police the parade as a punishment by his watch commander.

Crash a gay rights parade? Absolutely not!

    • DaCoachK

Homos are without a doubt the most narcissistic demographic in America. They simply believe EVERYTHING revolves them and their deviance.

    • laura r

they should, everyone should crash the gay parade. then cry bigotry.

  • Boots

I’m sure he’ll be deeply missed by all the people who just want to have fun at a parade. Even getting stewed in honor one’s Irish roots has to be political and gayed up? I guess the left finds it offensive to not allow them to politicize every effing thing.

  • mackykam

    Komrade Wilhelm to boycott…Sooo?
Is it because there won’t be any black lesbians marching?
Ever get the feeling he ticked off as many boxes as possible before deciding on whom to marry? Let’s see:
    Feminist?: check.
    Black?: check, check.
    Lesbian?: check, check, check- plus.
    Sandinista?: question mark.
Black power advocate?: off the charts check.
    Marxist?: Tendencies.
    Anti-Capitalist: check.

  • laura r

so everything everywhere is about gay. that sums it up.

    • A Z

Pretty much. 2 to 4% of the population is LGBT but if you don’t talk about them in every parade, they go jihad on you.

      • laura r

thanksgiving parade too? gay santas? next…..

        • A Z

You wait they will demand it. They say 2 to 4 % of kids are LGBT or questioning. So they will demand it.

I think they were abused an ended up that way. So the solution is not to set what they became into concrete but to make them normal.

  • uptownsteve

What is the purpose of FPM continuously referring to deBlasio as “Wilhelm”?

    • Habbgun

They were going to call him uptownsteve but you ruined that.

    • Daniel Greenfield

We’re trying to cover all his aliases.

    • Omar

That’s his real name. His name is Warren Wilhelm, Jr., but he changed it to Bill de Blasio (the first name doesn’t make sense because Bill is short for William, not Warren) in order to get closer to his mother’s Italian heritage (at first, I though de Blasio was a Spanish name). Anyway, I refer to him by his real name, which is Warren Wilhelm, Jr., because that is his proper name.

    • Drakken

Why? Is that racist in your little mind?

  • truebearing

de Blatherio is drunk with power. Knowing New Yorkers were stupid enough to elect him has him in a state of political delusion that he will remain eternally popular and undefeatable. While I won’t debate his assessment of the voters who elected him, I don’t think they are as stupid as he seems to think. One by one, he will alienate key constituencies until he is the most hated New York mayor in history. The New York media will unleash the dogs of political criticism and he will become the city’s only fire hydrant.

  • Aditya Vivek Barot

New York is only 33% white.

That’s all you need to know. “Nothing lasts forever, and we both know hearts can change.” So can cities and nations when they undergo dramatic demographic mutation. The India of today is nothing like the India of 400 A.D. since the racial composition of the nation had been irreversibly altered. For the worse.

Similarly, New York, which had always enjoyed white majority, of British and Low Country origin, has undergone a, potentially, irreversible demographic transformation and has nothing in common with, say, the New York of 1965.

Say good bye to Broadway. Take one last look at that river. Don’t go West, young man, because its equally f****d.

Time to head North? Perhaps Arctic winters are civilization’s last line of defense?

  • PAthena

Why should homosexuals be proud of being abnormal?

    • DaCoachK

      Abnormal is new normal.

  • wileyvet

Old Bolshevik Bill won’t wear green at the St. Patrick’s Day parade, but will wear his black chaps at the Gay Pride Parade.

    • john spielman

i would have thought his chaps would be RED

  • cxt

    Did I read that correctly?
Not wanting people to carry signs in support of gays is now viewed as entire organizations “do not respect the lives and property” of gays.
So in effect failure to cheer loud enough is viewed as effectively “hate” of some kind?????
Wonder if people demanding to carry “Irish” signs would be welcome in a gay pride parade.
How would a LEO/Firefighter even know if a person in a burning house or the person being attacked was gay… know so they “not respect them?????”

    • Daniel Greenfield

Exactly. You must not merely remain silent, but you must enthusiastically support.

Anything else is a thought crime.

      • laura r

        stalin wouldnt believe this.

  • Leah Keever

I’m sure he will be sorely missed. But the brave souls must try and carry on without him. :)

  • JoeMyGodNYC

Very proud to have voted for Bill De Blasio!

    • ThetruthshaIIsetyoufree

      God’s. My. God.

  • DaCoachK

Now, everyone knows the “new” America celebrates the queers at every turn. You are not supposed to celebrate your own birthday now without giving a nod to one man bending another man over and sexually assaulting his alimentary canal. These people and their supporters are ridiculous, and the blowback is coming.

    • laura r

as i said: GAYGAYGAYGAYGAY. even my gay friends are sick of it. im getting phobic @ every turn.
