Black Dem Pol: I Don’t like Justice Thomas “He’s Married to a White Woman”

Holmes

If a white politician said that he doesn’t like a white man because he’s married to a black woman, it would be time for another national conversation on race accompanied by Buzzfeed outrage, Slate and Atlantic think-pieces on why America is so racist and perhaps even a very special speech by Obama.

But this is nothing to worry about.

While on the the floor of the Alabama House of Representatives, state Rep. Alvin Holmes, a black Democrat, explained why he so dislikes Clarence Thomas: because “he’s married to a white woman,” reporter Mary Sell of The Times Daily and Decatur Daily tweeted Wednesday.

When reached for comment by a reporter for the Anniston Star, Mr. Holmes said he was misinterpreted, but added that Justice Thomas was an “Uncle Tom,” the National Review reported.

“I said some people might say I didn’t like him because he was married to a white woman,” Mr. Holmes told the Anniston Star, before including the “Uncle Tom” addendum.

….sure “some people”. If only Mr. Holmes were white, then Obama might say he acted stupidly.

  • Frank

Alvin Holmes looks pretty white to me.

He looks more white, if we were stand next to a person from an African country.

I suppose we should also call Mr.Alvin an Uncle Tom.

    • Judahlevi

Yes, there is racism by dark-skinned people even more, I suspect, than by light-skinned people. They have been taught to see themselves defined by their skin color by years of liberal instruction. But the truth is…

They are not defined by their skin color anymore than Justice Thomas’s wife is.

Just as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. asked, we need to judge people by their “character”, not their skin color. Character is an individual trait, not a group trait. We are all unique individuals, not skin colors. Individualism, a human relational philosophy, does not believe in racism, sexism, ageism, or any other judging and grouping of people.

It’s colorism within the black community

    • bruce lorraine

Do you mean in his ancestry there was a white boy in the wood pile?

  • http://www.clarespark.com/ Clare Spark

So black pols are opportunists? Who would have thought it? See http://clarespark.com/2013/11/05/kerry-washington-scandal-and-miscegenation/: “Kerry Washington, SCANDAL, and miscegenation.” As many have observed, the turn toward multiculturalism and affirmative action was resegregation at best.

    • A Z

I live in a mixed race marriage. At first it is neat; it is different. After so many years a person does not think about it all. It is a non-issue.
I do understand that America has been a better place than most for such marriages. So I will have motive if people ruin it, for a few shekels. I do not care what their color is.

      • vevajhn

But there IS a problem for most children born. Two year olds, 5 year olds, etc. do not understand ‘multiculturalism”. People’s culture IS important, or else there would be no problem. A culture usually goes back hundreds, thousands of years. After that many generations practicing “their culture” and then wipiing it out for one person or one group, is indeed harmful. I have had several mixed marriages in my ancestry. They were not anything special. Most were big mistakes! Obama’s mama was an immature teen. See how confused her son is?

        • A Z

Stressing the importance of education is not something that is necessarily related to a particular culture. No is thrift or hard work. It is something that has to be continually built up and stressed in all cultures.

    • Judahlevi

You are correct that “multiculturalism” is part of the problem, not the cure.

The cure for racism and multiculturalism is Individualism. Individualism is much more aligned with the philosophy the country was founded on than multiculturalism.

    • Drakken

Multiculturalism always leads to Balkanization and sooner or later, it always comes to bloodshed.

    Manaphy,

I am a white guy married to a Mexican and who when I was single, dated mostly Asian girls but basically all races including black. C’mon man! It’s 2014. In 200 years when we are all some shade of brown, what will we fight over?

Oh, I forgot. There is that religious issue. On that, we should all stand together against a common threat, no?

Seriously, the issue of how black conservatives are treated should get more attention. When I see people like Clarence Thomas, Larry Elder, Shelby Steele, Tom Sewell and others, I think they are the most intellectually stimulating people this country has to offer because of the courage it takes for them to speak out. Their voices should be heard not suppressed.

But I guess Manaphy wouldn’t see that.

    • DB1954

Don’t make Manaphy the subject of this thread!

    • Manaphy

“I am a white guy married to a Mexican and who when I was single, dated mostly Asian girls but basically all races including black.”

Congratulations. You have intentionally destroyed thousands of years of genetics and lineage, and for what? And also, why should I want my grand children and great-grand children to be “shades of brown”? I want to preserve my culture, I want to preserve my identity. I want my children to look like me. I’m sorry, but you are a degenerate anti-white. My advise would be to reassess the direction of your life.

      • garyfouse

        Wow.

Actually, I think Manaphy is some left-wing plant who is trying to incite the rest of us to agree with his or her racist rants in order to discredit this site. I think the responses so far pretty much underline his failure.

        • E-nigma

I think we found the real Uncle Tom

  • garyfouse

“I said, Roy,” Holmes told the Anniston Star.

  • truebearing

Obama’s mother was white. I guess he doesn’t like Obama’s father either, and only likes half of Obama.

Listen to all of these civil rights beneficiaries spewing racism on a daily basis. Apparently they are too stupid to realize that they are undermining their own leverage as permanent racial victims. Soon, no one will buy any of the civil rights hogwash.

    • The March Hare

“Soon, no one will buy any of the civil rights hogwash.”
We can only hope it is soon.

      • cct

        real soon pleaase

    • Roger Bidges

The scarey thing is this racist fool is making laws for the rest of us to live by

  • DB1954

    Unbelievable.

  • Melissa

To each his own. I am against race mixing myself and would never engage in it. The cheerios commercial made me sick.

  • mackykam

This guy hates looking in the mirror and seeing he’s black. Needs to tear down other achieving blacks so that his own sorry saggy ass won’t look so insignificant.

  • v

It’s enough to make someone who never thought of racism, a racist. All of that garbage while Obama, the most disastrous administration we have had in the history of this country and yet got elected twice, because of his race may I add, is black. What’s wrong with this picture

  • Veracious_one

he must go to the same barber as Al “the liar” Sharpton…

  • icy69hot

Typical double-standard for the Liberal left Democrats. When will people wake the hell up and see the truth about these people?

  • jeff

    This should speak for itself!

  • Antisharia

Blacks don’t like it when their women marry outside the race, they see it as a form of treason. However they have no problem with white women marrying black men, and for the record, neither do I, they see such a relationship as a form of conquest. It’s a gross hypocrisy, but hardly a surprising one.

    • vevaqus

Was there an uproar when Tiger Woods married a white? And when he admitted infidelity, he said the women he had extramarital relations with, were white. Any black democrat protest that? And now he dates another white woman! Demo’s do NOT stand up for equal rights of minorities, only if they are liberals, Demorats or progessives! They need to be raked over the coals by the Media, but then the media is liberal!

      • Daniel Greenfield

Black leaders didn’t like Tiger Woods because he refused to define himself as black but as multiracial.

  • Veracious_one

why do so many black leaders sound like racists when they speak?

    • herb benty

Whites and blacks, reds and yellows all live in the American melting pot. Why the heck are the neo-racist Dems calling conservatives of any color “racist”. constantly? Is this a massive attempt to “project” the traditional Democratic racism onto Republicans? I am a white conservative and I don’t know 1(one) racist.

      • Drakken

This country in case it has escaped your notice is no longer a melting pot, but a boiling pot under pressure, and it is not question of if but one of when it blows.

        • herb benty

Yes, I can’t disagree with you there. Looks like Iran is heading to the U.S. with nucs. Obama/Dem encouragement of criminal gangs and traitorous outfits like the SPLS could set off the Whites. I mean at some point Whites will say, “ENOUGH”!

  • msmaddog

And they lead us and have concern for us….throw out the money changers!

  • apophis

Hey, his heart belong to satan and that is whom he serves.

  • glpage

Quincy Jones, Charles Moose, Tiger Woods, Seal, Sidney Poitier, Cuba Gooding Jr., O. J. Simpson, Ice-T, Kanye West, Reggie Bush, Harry Belafonte, Tiki Barber…

    Is that fool paying attention?

    • GinoMachiavelli

Yea , but those people are just entertainers, without classic education, unlike Justice C.Thomas, and have little or no positive impact on destiny of whole nation..

  • Lanna

This comment just shows the shallowness of the Democrat party, there are so many good conservative Black Republicans that never get respect, but live by principles and laws, unlike their lawless Democrat counterparts. So what if Thomas is married to a white woman, what an insignificant statement to make when we have major issues that need attention by responsible law makers…Notice I said responsible!

  • herb benty

The whole Dem Party is Racist.

    • catherineinpvb

NO question! The Ku Klux Klan were Democrats. . .for starters. And the Left has always been so. (To wit; the insulting tweet from Russian journalist with pics of Obamas. . incredible; but nuff said.) Bottom line; these people are the worst; their own worst enemy; and ours; for certain.

Has anyone asked Holmes; how he feels about the offspring of such a union. Like that of Obama’s Mother. and Obama’s ‘father’? Amazing. . .they will not let it go. Never. Of course; ‘racism’ is the power of the Left.

      • herb benty

Fake racism that fools the low-info’s.

  • Omar

You are a f**k**g racist who is just as bad as the left-wing race hustlers.

  • A Z

Manaphy, you are ignorant. why don’t you peruse this site, sciencedaily.com. You might update your knowledge of genetics, race and other things and not be such a bigot.

It is also good for stress relief.Except for AGW, science sites are pretty much politics free. Plus any advance let’s us do things more efficiently (less energy) or things we could not do before, which is very upbeat.

  • DB1954

I agree only with your last statement. Otherwise, you’re making a fool of yourself.

  • A Z

    I concur.

  • Manaphy

I am not a racist. I simply wish to preserve my race. That isn’t going to happen if white women keep engaging in bestiality with black men like Clarence Thomas. I want to preserve my race, my culture, and my heritage. What is bad about that?

  • DB1954

Don’t feed a troll. Manaphy is not the topic of this article. Let’s not make him the topic.

  • DB1954

OMG, bestiality? Dude, you’re a racist! No one said you couldn’t “preserve” those things. You just can’t dictate who other people will marry. Moreover, it’s only a small minority of whites who marry outside their race. That you would call interracial marriage “engaging in bestiality” means that you think non-whites are animals. That’s the definition of racist. You’re a racist. Get gone.

  • A Z

Clarence Thomas is not a beast.

My kids like what I Iike. They love western myths and legends. They do not have to be white as snow to appreciate those. They history, myths, legends, languages, culinary inheritance is just double normal is all.

  • Seek

And good for you. The real problem is not so much black men like Clarence Thomas as it is white women who throw themselves at them. Are we not good enough for them?

  • herb benty

    C. Thomas is a better person than you. Human DNA is 100% the same, why would you be concerned about inter-marriage, why would the amount of melanin in the skin matter to you, blacks originally spent thousands of years in the tropics- big deal!

  • objectivefactsmatter

    Clueless:

“I am not a racist. I simply wish to preserve my race.”

You’re not a Democrat because you don’t hide your racism in PC terms but this is basically racism of the left.

  • DB1954

Are you sure you wanted to tell ME that?

  • Seek

Leftists are too obsessed with exposing “racism” to practice it. So-called “conservatives” of the Tea Party persuasion are too busy trying to play the Left’s game to realize they are a bunch of suckers. Yes, race does matter. It’s the main basis for formation of marriages, extended families, communities and nations.

  • objectivefactsmatter

I thought I replied to the idiot Manaphy.

    Sorry.

  • objectivefactsmatter

The idea of distinct races based on genetics is a social construct. We organize societies based on many things.

Back when transport technologies were nonexistent or just forming we didn’t mix a lot with people that looked differently. Now we are exposed to people from all around the globe and people can choose who they form bonds with more freely.

When most racists look at to group behaviors they would be wiser to look at cultural influences rather than meaningless aesthetic features.
