Busting the Media’s ISIS Myths

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. He is completing a book on the international challenges America faces in the 21st century.

isisKnow your enemy. To know what ISIS is, we have to clear away the media myths about ISIS.

ISIS is not a new phenomenon.

Wahhabi armies have been attacking Iraq in order to wipe out Shiites for over two hundred years. One of the more notably brutal attacks took place during the administration of President Thomas Jefferson.

That same year the Marine Corps saw action against the Barbary Pirates and West Point opened, but even Noam Chomsky, Michael Moore and Howard Zinn chiming via Ouija board would have trouble blaming the Wahhabi assault on the Iraqi city of Kerbala in 1802 on the United States or an oil pipeline.

Forget the media portrayals of ISIS as a new extreme group that even the newly moderate Al Qaeda thinks is over the top; its armies are doing the same things that Wahhabi armies have been doing for centuries. ISIS has Twitter accounts, pickup trucks and other borrowed Western technology, but its ideology and brutality have always been part of Islam. They are not a new phenomenon.

Sunnis and Shiites have been killing each other for over a thousand years. Declaring other Muslims to be infidels and killing them is also a lot older than the suicide bomb vest.

Al Qaeda and ISIS are at odds because its Iraqi namesake had a different agenda. Al Qaeda always had different factions with their own agendas that were not more extreme or less extreme, but emerged from varying national backgrounds.

Bin Laden prioritized Saudi Arabia and America. That allowed Al Qaeda to pick up training from Hezbollah which helped make 9/11 possible. This low level cooperation with Iran was endangered when Al Qaeda in Iraq made fighting a religious war with Shiites into its priority.

That did not mean that Bin Laden liked Shiites and thought that AQIQ was “extreme” for killing them.

During the Iraq War, Bin Laden had endorsed Al Qaeda in Iraq’s goal of fighting the Shiite “Rejectionists” by framing it as an attack on America. AQIQ’s Zarqawi had privately made it clear that he would not pledge allegiance to Osama bin Laden unless the terrorist leader endorsed his campaign against Shiites.

Bin Laden and the Taliban had been equally comfortable with Sipahe Sahaba and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi which provided manpower for the Taliban while massacring Shiites in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Last year LEJ had killed over a hundred Shiite Hazaras in one bombing.

The narrative that ISIS was more extreme than Al Qaeda because it killed Shiites and other Muslims doesn’t hold up even in recent history.

The media finds it convenient to depict the rise of newly extremist groups being radicalized by American foreign policy, Israeli blockades or Danish cartoons. A closer look however shows us that these groups did not become radicalized, rather they increased their capabilities.

ISIS understood that targeting Shiites and later Kurds would make it more appealing to Sunni Arabs inside Iraq and around the Persian Gulf. Bin Laden tried to rally Muslims by attacking America. ISIS has rallied Muslims by killing Shiites, Kurds, Christians and anyone else who isn’t a proper Sunni Arab.

Every news report insists that ISIS is an extreme outlier, but if that were really true then it would not have been able to conquer sizable chunks of Iraq and Syria. ISIS became huge and powerful because its ideology drew the most fighters and the most financial support. ISIS is powerful because it’s popular.

ISIS has become more popular and more powerful than Al Qaeda because Muslims hate other Muslims even more than they hate America.

ISIS is not an outside force that inexplicably rolls across Iraq and terrorizes everyone in its path. It’s actually the public face of a Sunni coalition. When ISIS massacres Yazidis, it’s not just following an ideology; it’s giving Sunni Arabs what they want.

A surviving Yazidi refugee had told CNN that his Arab neighbors had joined in the killing. This wasn’t just ISIS terrorizing a helpless population. It was Islamic Supremacism in action.

ISIS is dominating Iraq and Syria because it draws on support from the Sunni Arab population. It has their support because it is killing or driving out Christians, Yazidis, Shiites and a long list of peoples who either aren’t Muslims or aren’t Arabs while giving their land and possessions to the Sunni Arabs.

The media spent years denying that the Syrian Civil War was a sectarian conflict between Sunnis and Shiites. It’s unable to deny the obvious in Iraq, but it carefully avoids considering the implications.

An army alone will have trouble committing genocide unless it has the cooperation of a local population that wants to see another group exterminated.

When we talk about ISIS, we are really talking about Sunni Arabs in Iraq and Syria. Not all of them, but enough that ISIS has become the standard bearer of the Sunni side in the civil wars in Syria and Iraq.

Hillary Clinton and John McCain can complain that we could have avoided the rise of ISIS if we had only armed the right sort of Jihadists in Syria, but if ISIS became dominant because its agenda had popular support, then it would not have mattered whom we armed or didn’t arm.

We armed the Iraqi military to the teeth, but it didn’t do any good because the military didn’t represent any larger consensus in an Iraq divided along religious and ethnic lines.

To understand ISIS, we have to unlearn what the media tell us. The media tells us that terrorists only represent an extreme edge of the population. If they have popular support, it’s only because the civilian population has somehow become radicalized. (And usually it’s our fault.)

And yet that model doesn’t hold up. It never did.

The religious and ethnic strife in the Middle East out of which ISIS emerged and which has become its brand, goes back over a thousand years. If support for terrorism emerges from radicalization, then the armies of Islam were radicalized in the time of Mohammed and have never been de-radicalized.

The Caliphate, like the Reich, is a utopia which can only be created through the mass murder and repression of all those who do not belong. This isn’t a new vision. It’s the founding vision of Islam.

What is wrong with ISIS is what is wrong with Islam.

We can defeat ISIS, but we should remember that its roots are in the hearts of the Sunni Muslims who support it. ISIS and Al Qaeda are only symptoms of the larger problem.

We can see the larger problem flying Jihadist flags in London and New Jersey. We can see it trooping through Australian and Canadian airports to join ISIS. We can see it in the eyes of the Sunni Arabs murdering their Yazidi neighbors.

ISIS is an expression of the murderous hate within Islam. We are not only at war with an acronym, but with the dark hatred in the hearts of Jihadists in Iraq and Pakistan… and next door.

Islam appeals to the stupidest, most violent males. That’s why modern Islam is setting records for barbarism. Much more fun for the modern Jihadi to slaughter people than study electronics for example.

    • Raymond_in_DC

And many study electronics – and other technical stuff – only to kill better. One encounters many engineers within Islamic terror groups. Indeed, the anti-Semitic former president of Malaysia publicly called on Muslims to better their technical skills in order to defeat the Jews.

I’ve tested “ISIS is Islam” on several broad-based audiences on the Internet. I still get the cliches. “It’s extremists, radicals, hijackers, … not real Islam.” This is followed by the usual charges of bigotry and “your religion is the same.” Too many are still ignorant about Islam.

The 1st thing I do to counter the ignorance is to compare ISIS to Mohammad’s rise. I inform people that Mo ethnically cleansed Medina of Jews as ISIS is ethnically cleansing Mosul. Not only are non-Muslims ignorant but I often get ignorant Muslims. Yes, I know they can be lying but I can sometimes tell that they look up the facts on the internet. About 20 minutes later they come back with the usual apologetics: “it wasn’t religious but political.” I note that Islam was founded as a political supremacist ideology sanctioned by a religious creed and rather than being an excuse, its political nature is the problem. It never fails that this ends the conversation. Muslims know I’m right. I only hope some non-Muslims reading that proceed to the book list (and websites) I provide.

    • Joycey

Islam is a murderous, fascist, supremacist ideology akin to Nazism. Indeed, Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” is only second in sales to the Koran/Quran in majority Muslim countries, and Hitler himself preferred Islam to Christianity…

      *Hitler Quotes*

“You see, it’s been our misfortune to have the wrong religion. Why didn’t we have the religion of the Japanese, who regard sacrifice for the Fatherland as the highest good? The Mohammedan religion [Islam] too would have been more compatible to us than Christianity. Why did it have to be Christianity with its meekness and flabbiness?”

“I can imagine people being enthusiastic about the paradise of Mohammed, but as for the insipid paradise of the Christians! In your lifetime, you used to hear the music of Richard Wagner. After your death, it will be nothing but hallelujahs, the waving of palms, children of an age for the feeding bottle, and hoary old men. The man of the isles pays homage to the forces of nature. But Christianity is an invention of sick brains: one could imagine nothing more senseless, nor any more indecent way of turning the idea of the Godhead into a mockery. A n***** with his taboos is crushingly superior to the human being who seriously believes in transubstantiation.”

“Had Charles Martel not been victorious at Poitiers -already, you see, the world had already fallen into the hands of the Jews, so gutless a thing Christianity! -then we should in all probability have been converted to Mohammedanism [Islam], that cult which glorifies the heroism and which opens up the seventh Heaven to the bold warrior alone. Then the Germanic races would have conquered the world. Christianity alone prevented them from doing so.”

“The best thing is to let Christianity die a natural death. A slow death has something comforting about it. The dogma of Christianity gets worn away before the advances of science… The instructions of a hygienic nature that most religions gave, contributed to the foundation of organized communities. The precepts ordering people to wash, to avoid certain drinks, to fast at appointed dates, to take exercise, to rise with the sun, to climb to the top of the minaret — all these were obligations invented by intelligent people. The exhortation to fight courageously is also self-explanatory. Observe, by the way, that, as a corollary, the Moslem was promised a paradise peopled with sensual girls, where wine flowed in streams — a real earthly paradise. The Christians, on the other hand, declare themselves satisfied if after their death they are allowed to sing hallelujahs!”

“…Christianity, of course, has reached the peak of absurdity in this respect. And that’s why one day its structure will collapse. Science has already impregnated humanity. Consequently, the more Christianity clings to its dogmas, the quicker it will decline.!”

Now, Christians follow *Jesus Christ* who preached *Love*, *Peace* and *forgiveness*…*Jesus* warned of false prophets and said one would know them by their *fruits*…Let’s take *Muhammad*…He was an apostate, heretic, murderer, warlord, owned slaves, was a sexual deviant and all round psychopath…Those fruits to any sane and rational person are *fruits rotten to the core*…

Excellent analysis, Daniel. It’s not that Islam has changed. It hasn’t, and it can’t. The teachings and life example of Muhammad and his followers are the same as they always were, and for devout Muslims exist as a perfect algorithm of God’s intent for man on earth. They cannot be changed without fundamentally changing Islam, and as we have seen on many, many occasions the penalty for Muslims who question the teachings and life of Muhammad and his followers is death.

What has changed is that the world has fallen asleep and now sees Islam through its own rosy vision of what a religion should be like, rather than the way it was intended and practiced for hundreds of years by Muhammad and many generations of his followers. Muslims of course know better than to buy into this rosy-colored fantasy, but if the West prefers ignorance to the truth, why should that bother Muslims? It shouldn’t, and it doesn’t. Muslims are more than happy to take maximum advantage of the ignorance of the West for as long as it lasts and are in no hurry to inform the rest of us of the truth about their religion.

The potentially great thing about ISIS is that Khalifa Ibrahim has a PhD in Islamic Studies, and he is making sure that the Islamic State is the most perfect representation of an authentic Islamic Caliphate humanly possible, and that is potentially a great reality-check and learning opportunity for all of us. As Sun Tzu said:

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

As usual, Mr. Greenfield cuts through the fog of media BS on Islam like a hot knife through butter. The Islamic State is Islam in it’s pure un-adulterated form. It’s what Islam has been about since the days of Muhammad slaughtering the Jews of Khaybar. Our way or die. Enslave, rape, forcibly convert, kill. The sad part is that far too many gullible infidels believe that “moderate” Islam is a solution. They ignore the historical truth of how Muslims will not side with infidels when push comes to shove. There may be the occasional example of Muslims not acting like Muslims, but the great majority will always side with the fundamentalists because, ultimately, they are all Muslims. And we are nothing but the sons of apes and pigs, dirty kuffars to be taxed and enslaved if they can’t convert us.

    • IslamDownpressesHumanity

Did Khaybar become Medina? If so, I firmly believe any future land swaps and peace deals should include consideration for the lands and properties stolen from the Jewish people in Saudi Barbaria at their current value.

      • Infidel4Ever

I don’t know. I like your idea, though.

      • wileyvet

No, the town of Yathrib became Medina, the city of the prophet. Muhammad moved there in A.D. 622, know as the Hijra, and marks the beginning of the Muslim calendar. Medina was cleansed of Jews over time, with the last tribe, the Banu Quraiza, having 700 – 900 of their adult men beheaded and dumped into mass graves. That was their fate after Muhammad accused them of helping the Quraysh during the Battle of the Trench. The Muslims of Medina now possessed all the former Jewish property, including houses, land, goods, money and of course their wives and children. Khaybar, north of Medina was the last principle Jewish city in Arabia. Many of the previous Jewish tribes, Banu Nadir, and Banu Qanuqa expelled from Medina sought refuge there. Muhammad attacked in A.D. 629, and again conquered them, exiling them and confiscating their property. Some Jews were allowed to stay to work their lands on the condition of turning over 50% of their crops to the Muslims. Eventually it was Umar, the second Caliph that cleansed Arabia of all Jews. Khaybar is used by Arabs to taunt Israelis during rioting etc. today.Bukhari Volume 5, Book 59, Number 512 :Narrated by AnasThe Prophet offered the Fajr Prayer near Khaibar when it was still dark and then said, “Allahu-Akbar! Khaibar is destroyed, for whenever we approach a (hostile) nation (to fight), then evil will be the morning for those who have been warned.” Then the inhabitants of Khaibar came out running on the roads. The Prophet had their warriors killed, their offspring and woman taken as captives. Safiya was amongst the captives, She first came in the share of Dahya Alkali but later on she belonged to the Prophet. The Prophet made her manumission as her ‘Mahr’

It is not Sunni Islam… it is Islam. When the Shiites under Maliki got their chance to form a govt in Iraq, what was the result? No, they didn’t go around beheading Sunnis but they did imprison, torture, rob and rape them with apparent impunity. The ‘answer’ presents itself; the interests of the West at large are clearly served by there being fewer Muslims in the world, full stop. They seem well-disposed to do the job on each other. Therefor, our policies should be designed to a) isolate that violence from non-Muslims, b) prolong/intensify that violence and c) provide an alternative to those who reject that violence on kaffiri of any brand. That last will be tricky, given the sacramental status of lies in Islam so that should wait until it is obviously and sincerely desired. That day is NOT this day. Not even close. Forward.

You make sense, much more than other commentators, I’m from there, I am born Muslim & I fight this barbarism from 1979, whole my family are the martyrs of RESISTANCE,
at 1982 we announced the outcome of the west’s appeasement of the Mullahs of Iran,
first, Carter dealt with Khomeiny on 444 days of US Embassy hostages ( Pact of Alger 1982, to oppose all attempts of Anti Islamism & regime change ) .
Second, Reagan kneed for Khomeiny by sending him a Golden Colt, a Golden Qoran & Cake after that Iran BOMBED US MARINE Base of Beirut and killed 242 Marines (IranGate, Colonel Oliver North),
3rd, Reagan did more by offering Khomeiny, LEBANON.
I remember that Ayatollah Mohtashami who was charged by Khomeiny to form the Hezbollah said, “Our Supreme leader, showed us how to deal with the west, with a few kilos of explosive, we gained a country”
4th, BUSH FATHER, “White House spokesman, USA oppose the regime change on Iran” it was at June, 1988 when the Resistance Army was at 250 miles of capital.
5th, Clinton, administration, (Madelaine Albright , starting USA:IRAN amicable relationship by welcoming Mullah Khatami to USA at september 1997 & offering him USA GOODWILL by listing IRANIAN RESISTANCE at USA terror list.
6th, GW Bush ( Bombing Resistance bases at 2003 120 times per day during 19 days) then disarming Iran Liberation Army (Iranian Resistance Army),
7th, Obama ( delivering 3400 disarmed Iranian Resistance members to Al-Maliki to be slaughtered).
NOW, you make sense, because you suppose that may be one day a few Muslims will rise up & will join the civilized world.
I brought you some more information, may you please take into account these details & write another analysis that can consider the BLOODY RESISTANCE of a nation who had offered more than 120,000 martyrs since 1979?
Genocidal Islam was waked up and appeased & fed & armed by whom?
ISIS is governing Iran from 1979, ISIS is a subdivision of Iranian Qods FORCES, If ISIS is an independent criminal & genocidal ARAB group, why they are all covered their faces?!!!!
If there was an independent Communist group from USSR, then, you the westerners, you R right on ISIS.

  • Mike Scorp

Muhammad was a child molesting, pedophile as he married 7 year old Aisha and consummated the marriage when she was 9.
Who knows how many other countless children he raped.
He created his religion by combining already existing ones and adding some of his own crap into it.
He then claimed god told him about it and proceeded to try and convert everyone in Mecca.
People in Mecca got angered by this and kicked him out.
Then god once again talked to him and told him to kill all who didn’t follow.
There’s your pathetic Islam in a nutshell.
Muhammad made it up and all you following are supporters of pedophilia, torture, rape, oppressing women and the idiotic convert or die policy.
I don’t know if it’ll happen in my lifetime but I’ll gladly pick up a rifle and thin out the herd to protect my way of life.

The media and the self named media (trolls) all want to use the idea that this is because of the Palestinians. It fits the Leftist narrative of Western capitalism as the culprit and ignores that Middle Easterners teach cruelty to their children and practice it on each other. A dialectical explanation that events just happen and that individual choices never are involved is the core idea of Leftists. To them it justifies everything.

There is a greater truth. We are seeing a true miracle in our time and we don’t even realize it. If the Jews had not been expelled by the Middle Eastern countries they would today be victims of ISIS. Instead they are safely in Israel. The rocket attacks are terrible but helplessness is far worse. We should be very glad that events have worked in the Jews favor.

    • IslamDownpressesHumanity

Isn’t that the ugly truth. I’m always surprised that the Christians who are now being exterminated from those same territories never thought something like: gee, if my moderate muslim brothers will treat Jews like this today I wonder if they might not treat me like that in the future?

      • Habbgun

They were there for thousands of years. They may have thought they had seen it all. What is more amazing is that Western Christians are not concerned and the Left has revealed itself as simply a form of Islamic tribalism cheering it on and enabling it. We knew the Left were collectivists and egotists but we didn’t know they would return to religion which they seemed to revile. Seems its peace they revile.

        • truebearing

Plenty of Christians are concerned. The only ones you hear about are the denominations that have been corrupted by the Left and promoted by the leftist media.

The everlasting war between the various muslim factions is one of the elements in our favor. Incidentally, disagreements over dogmas may have created religious conflicts in other parts of the world, but with islam, it’s only a question of whose faction has more rights to rule over the others. Which illustrates the fact that islam is not a religion but a totalitarian ideology.

The mythic “religion of peace” mentioned by the media is actually exactly the opposite: a traditionally belligerent ideology that masquerades as a religion to perpetrate its barbaric deeds.

As to the other myth supported by the media: “the suffering of the poor palestinians”, it has only one source: Pallywood, and here is one of its latest creations:

The convenient fiction that the media, the education establishment and the political class have created is that history began in 1945 and that everything that went wrong after that is the fault of the US. Thus, all the barbarism that is the core of islam is the fault of the US. Before that the area was peaceful and happy, and never experienced war, except during the evil crusades, which happened before 1945, but can be blamed for current Arab animosity toward everything that does not conform. The only answer is to destroy the population that refuses to abandon primitive barbarism. Unfortunate, but true.

It’s a convenient political fiction. The left hates any history that it can’t revise and is obsessed with setting the political clock where it likes.

  • Infovoyeur

What do you mean, saying “We can defeat ISIS”? Victory in such cases requires mirroring–stepping up (or down) to the enemy’s “standards” and methods. E.g., Pershing in Phillipines–slaughter with no Paradise. V. D. Hansen noting an unused response to 444 days Iran hostages–start bombing facilities until they are released; if harmed, go for military facilities. Indian suttee–erect a gallows next to the pyre and use it. And ISIS tops any recents for utter savage barbarism. Can ANYONE see our administration stepping up to the level needed? It would be two Orders of Magnitude change from near-100% Islamophilic READ resistance evasion avoidance denial, for whatever reasons…
I am a moralistic and pessimistic-realistic thinker. So if I am wrong here–I hope I might be–please comment. That is not sarcastic but well-meant….

    • Daniel Greenfield

We don’t need to duplicate ISIS methods, but we do need to be ruthless in fighting it.

    • Drakken

You are correct, when fighting muslims your methods have to reflect a medieval mindset. No quarter and no mercy.

  • sam000

Very dear Mister Greenfield; being always happy by reading your standing articles, let me to add some salts on your article, maybe it can help us to understand better,
well, when we the Muslims do not wash & clean our nations and lands from the dirt of Islamism, we will always have the thugs & worms like ISIS or ISIL or any genocider,
    groups ,
But the generator of all these worms is the IRI (Islamic Republic of Iran), specially, Ali Khameneii,
ISIS is created jointly by Iranian Ghods Forces and Syrian army intelligence.
Of course, Obama is for something , here,
when the super power bends itself to the Iranian Mullahs, the worms will dare to regenerate as multiple Islamic Groups.

    • Daniel Greenfield

They’re all intertwined together, cousins, brothers, enemies, allies

      • sam000

Mister Greenfield; I’m from there, I am
born Muslim & I fight this barbarism from 1979, whole my family are
        the martyrs of RESISTANCE,
at 1982 we announced the outcome of the west’s appeasement of the Mullahs of Iran,
        first,
Carter dealt with Khomeiny on 444 days of US Embassy hostages ( Pact of
Alger 1982, to oppose all attempts of Anti Islamism & regime
        change ) .
Second, Reagan kneed for Khomeiny by sending him a Golden
Colt, a Golden Qoran & Cake after that Iran BOMBED US MARINE Base
of Beirut and killed 242 Marines (IranGate, Colonel Oliver North),
3rd, Reagan did more by offering Khomeiny, LEBANON.
        I
remember that Ayatollah Mohtashami who was charged by Khomeiny to form
the Hezbollah said, “Our Supreme leader, showed us how to deal with the
west, with a few kilos of explosive, we gained a country”
4th, BUSH FATHER, “White House spokesman, USA oppose the regime change on Iran” it was at June, 1988 when the Resistance Army was at 250 miles of capital.
        5th,
Clinton, administration, (Madelaine Albright , starting USA:IRAN
amicable relationship by welcoming Mullah Khatami to USA at september
1997 & offering him USA GOODWILL by listing IRANIAN RESISTANCE at
        USA terror list.
6th, GW Bush ( Bombing Resistance bases at 2003 120
times per day during 19 days) then disarming Iran Liberation Army
        (Iranian Resistance Army),
7th, Obama ( delivering 3400 disarmed Iranian Resistance members to Al-Maliki to be slaughtered) July 2009.
NOW, you suppose that Islam is the same, &.
        I
brought you some more information, may you please take into account
these details & write another analysis that can consider the BLOODY
RESISTANCE of a nation who had offered more than 120,000 martyrs since
        1979?
Genocidal Islam was waked up and appeased & fed & armed by whom?
        ISIS
is governing Iran from 1979, ISIS of Iraq is a subdivision of Iranian Qods
FORCES, If ISIS is an independent criminal & genocidal ARAB group,
why they are all covered their faces?!!!!
If there was an independent Communist group from USSR, then, you the westerners, you R right on ISIS.

  • truebearing

Brilliantly done, Daniel. This is the reality. The battle lines are vividly drawn. Only the willingly blind can fail to see this truth.

    • Daniel Greenfield

      lots of those around, unfortunately

  • Lanna

You want to talk a mental disorder….Total destructiveness and hatred…..Islam has been flawed from its origination.

  • Gee

The Muslims would just stick to killing each other – that would be no problem. They insist that they have a right to kill everyone and that is the problem

  • ObamaYoMoma

ISIS has become more popular and more powerful than Al Qaeda because Muslims hate other Muslims even more than they hate America.

With all due respect that is unequivocally the absolute dumbest statement I have ever read on FPM in all my years. Congratulations, I know you put a lot of thought into it.

After reading this garbage, I’ve come to the conclusion that you are no intellectual. If I were your professor, I’d give you a big fat flat F. Like I thought, you are just a neo-con and not a very bright one.

    • Daniel Greenfield
      • ObamaYoMoma

I remember that old blog, but I still don’t know what you are getting at and that’s the second time you referenced Chris Cristy in response to one of my post.

        • Kebert Xela

          From 2011:

The fiscally responsible Christie is a giant figure on the American
political landscape. Just compare him to the other candidates, Christie
has by far the broadest base. With Perry now exposed as lacking
substance, the scales are clearly tilting in Christie’s favor.

And why not? He’s just the man to impose some much-needed belt-tightening, and trim the fat from government.

What America needs is a policy-heavy guy like Chris, who will really dig
into the weighty issues of the day, take the time to digest them, and
offer well-rounded solutions to stimulate real growth.

Nor is he a foreign policy lightweight. Governor Christie’s first
priority will be to beef up our defenses. He gets Hungary, he will reach
          out to Turkey and Chile.

Brains aren’t enough for this job. You need guts. You need bottom. When
Chris Christie starts something, he finishes it – no matter what gets
          gets dumped in his plate.

For too long, America has been run by politicians with no
self-discipline. Politicians who eat tax dollars as if there were no
consequences for our economic health. We need a leaner, more efficient
          government.

This week Americans were angered to hear how workers at a Justice
Department conference breakfasted on $16 muffins. Governor Christie
believes Americans deserve more. When he pays 16 dollars, he expects to
          eat 16 muffins.

Its too bad that a former Republican center of gravity with such surgical rhetorical incisiveness is now regarded as a political lightweight. Perhaps dreams of the Presidency are just a bridge too far for Christie to wrap his arms around.

          • IslamDownpressesHumanity

            LOL, that was hilarious.

      • IslamDownpressesHumanity

Chris Christy is more than a man, he’s two men in one!

where are you liberal Islamic apologists? you say it’s American foreign policy that makes them at war with us.
you liberal Islamist apologist tell me the al qaeda vanquished in Iraq wasn’t m really al-qaeda, I guess that’s what obama meant with the junior varsity hog wash, The Crusades were caused by what Isis is doing today. It was when turkey fell that the Crusades came about. Turkey was a Christian ally of the Western civilization at that time. You progressive zombies. the Crusades were only to help allies of the West in the Christian dominated Middle East

  • ratonis

Well . . . not ALL Muslims are like that, and besides, there are violent extremists among Jews and Christians, too. Heard that the other night in Omaha from a Muslim speaker. “Moderate” Muslims are shameless in their disingenuous statements.

ISLAM riots, which are often refered to as “demonstrations” are now being
organized in cities in Netherlands, and in many others all over Europe.
After a full month of weekend riots from thousands of Jihadists, they have
now declared The Hague to be the first Caliphate in Netherlands, and have
sent their documents to the city council demanding the Sharia Law for this
Internationally well-known old city. After their riots last weekend in Utrecht,
they have announced their plans to stage even larger “demonstrations”
    in Amsterdam and Rotterdam!
Normal shoppers are becoming afraid to do weekend shopping in these good
old cities, and many people are becoming afraid to even venture outside
the house during evening hours! Alas there are still some so-called
“moderate Islamists” in our socialist party, so that although our dominant
conservative party wants to have these terrible demonstrations banned,
the socialists are saying that they should be allowed to continue, that the
“people have the right to demonstrate!”……With Isis Black Flags, Islamic
Jihad dress, megaphones with their messages such as: “death to the Crusaders, Jews are to be exterminated, death to the Infidels!”.
I could tell you much more. But to save time I will write only this brief message
to you true lovers of Freedom in America and Canada:
Europe in now under threat by the Islamic Jihad! They have their strategy and
are now planning to “Take-over” Europe, after they have taken over the entire
Middle-east and Africa. The koran says that this is the Ulimate Goal of the Islam…one Islamic World, under their Sharia Law! This sounds vaguely
familiar; didn’t Obama recently declare his plan for a World government,
    or something like that ?
I hope that there are still a few Americans and Canadians, who will become
alert to the threats from the Islam, and wake up and realize that there are
no so-called “moderate Islamists!” When the recent riots continued
throughout The Hague and Utrecht, these guys in the city councils did nothing!

Bury any terrorist KIA wrapped in bacon.

  • Tabitha Bliss

Read this… It clears up a lot when it comes to Obama’s ME goals & policy
    http://mobile.wnd.com/2014/08/cia-expert-obama-osama-share-mideast-goal/

    • rebaaron

It doesn’t clear things up. It’s a restatement of things that have been clear for years now. But saying it again is always useful.

  • Trend prophet

All the hundreds of Isis fighters with foreign passports. Back in the 80s I was called racist for demanding that Islamic immigration be stopped and reversed. Now these jihadis are coming to split America in two as they said. They have already bombed America and places in Europe. For some reason western governments are not canceling passports and so don’t be surprised when a “Dutchman” bombs a mall.

  • manchopper

Then its within our right to kill and torture those that follow ISIS, and no need to take them as prisoners. Time to eradicate them, and not see it as killing a person but a mad animal.

  • USARetired

All of Islam is a ‘Blight’ that should have been eradicated from the World centuries ago! It is not a religeon, but is ‘faciest Ideology’!

  • Bingo

People in Mosul welcomed ISIS because the American military never rebuilt the infrastructure they destroyed when they invaded in ’03.

And what’s the difference between using religion as an excuse for war versus using “humanitarianism”? There is none. As long as you claim Shiites have been battling Sunnis, so have Western superpowers been subjugating and exploiting other nations.

  • http://whenfallsthecoliseum.com/author/kwatson/ megapotamus

No, Adolph. Arab/Muslims promise death to everyone. The Jews only to Arab/Muslims.

  • Habbgun

Hey Oncall Adolph. Boy George called. He wants his lipstick back. See I hack on you all I want. Know why? Everyone knows why. In real life the cyberbully is the most frightened, scrawniest lowlife on Earth. All he does is find a safe haven where he can make himself into a big man. Only you can’t. You’ve tried the most extreme character you can make yourself into and the wimpiness and effeminacy shines through.

I know you won’t answer this. It is all too true. By the way. I will follow you to other sites and let everyone know easily how you are hacked on and laughed at. No where to run oncall. Nowhere to run

  • Atikva

Well, you sure are not afraid of ridicule – and thanks for the good laugh!

And not even to all of them, just those stupid enough to become terrorists.
