Dartmouth Leftists Demand 47% Minority Quota for Post-Doctoral Students

A group of “concerned Asian, Black, Latin@, Native, Undocumented, Queer, and Differently-Abled students” at Dartmouth have threatened “physical action” if school officials do not cave in to a list of demands presented in a letter.

By physical action, they mean Tumblr reblogging.

This is part of the “Freedom Budget for Transformative Justice at Dartmouth” from “the Concerned Asian, Black, Latin@, Native, Undocumented, Queer, and Differently-Abled students”.

And yes “Latin@” is spelled that way and it’s not a typo. It’s meant for transgender Latinos. (Yes, this is the end.)

The list of demands cover everything from a ban on the Indian mascot, 10 percent enrollment quotas for minorities, free legal aid for illegal aliens.

And propaganda, lots and lots of propaganda.

Create a class that discusses the history of undocumented immigrants to the United States, analyzes the contemporary immigration reform movement and how the DREAMers changed the civil rights movement.

And mandatory propaganda

Enact curricular changes that require all students to interrogate issues of social justice, marginalization and exploitation in depth. Each student should have to take classes that will challenge their understanding of institutionalized injustice around issues of race, class, gender, sexuality, etc. This learning objective could be embedded in all first year seminars.

Make a multi-million dollar commitment coupled with hired positions focused on increasing numbers of faculty/staff of color (i.e. Asian, Black, Latin@, and Native faculty/staff) in all departments and offices at Dartmouth College and the Dartmouth graduate schools (Tuck, Thayer, Geisel).

In 2012, Dartmouth borrowed $150 million for 30 years.

Departments that do not have womyn or people of color will be considered in crisis and must take urgent and immediate action to right the injustice.

Good luck to the engineering and physics departments. You’re now in crisis. Or crysis.

Mandate sensitivity training for all faculty to reduce incidents of racism, sexism, heterosexism, classism, and ableism by faculty towards students.

Notice reduce, rather than eliminate, because the assumption is that white people are perma-racist.

Both gender-specific and gender-neutral bathrooms need to be available in every residential building on campus.

But what about gender-neutral neutral bathrooms?

Require that the Review give up the “Dartmouth” part of their name if they refuse to abide by the requests to stop using the term “Indian” in their paper.

The sweet smell of censorship.

Examine the ways Greek life adversely affects womyn, people of color, and low-income students.

Can we examine the ways that left-wing activism adversely affects everyone except aspiring Commissars and Community Organizers?

Provide pro bono legal assistance and financial assistance at Dartmouth College for undocumented students to better understand each of their unique legal statuses.

Just don’t use the I-word. It’s not preciously unique enough.

This statement shall be released during the Dartmouth Co-FIRED’s event on “Dropping the ‘I’ Word Campaign” in the second week of Spring Term 2014.

And that still isn’t enough…

Every Dartmouth student should be taught and made aware that the land they reside on is Abenaki homeland. This should take place during all major Dartmouth ceremonies, especially during orientation and commencement.

Question, is there a single Abenaki who actually signed on to this?

When students and their families pay tuition, they should be allowed to decide what their “Student Activities Fee” is used for.

I don’t think you guys really want that. It might get rid of 99 percent of what you want.

Ensure that 47% of post-doctoral students are people of color

Ensure that Dartmouth’s post-doctoral program is a joke.

  • DogmaelJones1

“Ensure that 47% of post-doctoral students are people of color.” And if 47% of post-doctoral students” aren’t “people of color,” what happens then? The 53%, whom we guess are white, must go back to freshman (there’s that genderism again!) year and wait until the 47% quota is reached? Cancel the program? Take the 53% out back near the dorm garbage bins and execute them? Make them “differently abled” by amputating their arms? Require that they undergo transgendering operations and then they can complete their post-doctoral studies? What a bunch of peanut-sized minds our neo-Nazis have!

  • Race_Dissident

That’s the cream of America’s academic crop talking, ladies and gents. They’ll be “educating” your kids in a few years.

    • Daniel Greenfield

Worse, they’ll be writing the standards for those who educate your kids.

    • Jonathan

Insane people shouldn’t be running the asylum!

  • kasandra

I’ve just got to ask. What is an “undocumented student”? Isn’t that just another term for a non-student? I mean, if I never applied to Dartmouth and was admitted, can I attend classes there as an “undocumented student.”

    • Daniel Greenfield

      Illegal alien

      • kasandra

Wow! They ought to put out a glossary for dunderheads like me who have never heard of such things as “undocumented students.”

        • Daniel Greenfield

Oceania makes more euphemisms than anyone can keep up with

      • BS77

The term for illegal alien is Undocumented Democrat.

    • Smoking Hamster

This “undocumented” stuff is hogwash. Calling an illegal alien an undocumented student is like calling a drug dealer an undocumented pharmacist. Or like calling a burglar an unplanned houseguest…

  • Douglas Mayfield

Intellectually and morally, it’s a just a short jump from what these statist, tyrannical thugs are demanding to Nazis or Communists, concentration camps, and an all out slave state. Dartmouth donors who hear about this should stop donating immediately and let the university authorities know why they are doing so.

    • Race_Dissident

More likely, they’ll donate 150 million samolians as that “Reagan Republican” Kenneth Griffin recently did for Harvard. When our own people are this stupid, I’m not sure we deserve better than the identity fascists at Dartmouth, and the anti-White House.

      • Douglas Mayfield

You’re probably right. See the recent articles on and by a typical product of Harvard U., Sandra Y. L. Korn whose dedication to wiping out freedom of speech fits right in with the Dartmouth Left.

        • Race_Dissident

Yes, they’re all of a piece. And in academia, these wack-jobs are the rule rather than the exception. But the vast majority of Americans don’t care. As long as their school’s football team is doing reasonably well, they’ll continue signing donation checks and sending their kids to be perverted and indoctrinated in these places of “higher learning.” I really do fear that the condition is hopeless and the disease terminal.

          • Drakken

Sounds like we need an academic enema. It would seem that Robert Heinlein was correct.

  • VHG1

The Plague of Liberalism is spread like every other socialist plague..from one empty skull to the next! The amoebas have degrees now!

  • A Z

These blithering idiots will get their wish. The campus will be overrun with students from India, Pakistan, china and Nigeria. All of them smart people.

    But they will be foreigners.

And the losers who protested, well they’ll be left behind regardless of color or shifting of the wind.

    • De Doc

That’s already the norm. I’m not sure what planet these Dartmouth weirdos are on, but most of the post-grad programs I saw during my time in academia (17 yrs in 4 different institutions) were already transforming into mostly foreign students and many from the developing world. I left the Ivory Tower in 2005. The sad part is while the ‘native’ kids gravitate to soft majors such as mindless (insert any minority/ethnic group) Studies, these (documented and legal alien) foreign students gravitate to engineering, science, medicine and other fields that require more brain power than perpetual outrage at perceived victim status and the need to protest anything at the drop of a hat.

  • Jonathan

Racists against white people. Has anyone noticed? This is nothing but favoring non-whites over whites. That is racism.

Where do these liberals come from anyway? It’s crazy what they say and believe!

    • seewithyourowneyes

Haven’t researched it myself, but I’m told that the word “racism” was invented by Leon Trotsky. The public is allowed to believe that racism has the rational definition of hostility or prejudice towards another race. But the pols, profs and journalists use the Trotskyite definition of racism which means oppression by the capitalist white majority. By definition, there’s no such thing as anti-white racism. Eric “selective enforcement” Holder also uses this definition.

      • Jonathan

        That would explain things.

      • Daniel Greenfield

No it wasn’t invented by Trotsky. The Communists in Russia had rather different priorities though they had their own form of affirmative action.

    • kikorikid

Jonathan, It is Diversity/Multicultural Ideology that puts
the stigma of “racist” on Whites, it follows then that “since
they are racist we should discriminate against them for revenge
and retribution for perceived wrongs”. Leftist DO think along
these lines. Notice I said “perceived wrongs” and not actual
wrongs. They never run out of wrongs to punish for.
Throw in a little hate, anger, jealousy and resentment.
I think what we are going to wind up with are some
      really, really, really inspired fascist.

      • Jonathan

Like I said it’s crazy what they believe!

        • kikorikid

You had it right in one!

    • Drakken

Let the Balkanization continue to its inevitable conclusion, the look on their PC/MC faces will be priceless.

  • Tom Stright

How about just accepting qualified students.

    • Daniel Greenfield

That’s racist, ableist, albinist, homophobic, homophonic and hooked on phonics

      • kikorikid

Sorry, I missed it somewhere. Ableist? Does this mean
I can be walking down the road, in a normal fashion, and
somebody can come up and accuse me of something
because I am “able” to do so, walking down the…etc…?

        • Daniel Greenfield

Exactly. Because your legs work or you’re sane, you enjoy an ableist privilege that you are unaware of which leads you to engage in micro-aggressions against the insane without even being aware of it.

Check your privilege also your coat pockets.

          • CaoMoo

The Internet Aristocrat tears into tumblr. He’s the only reason I know what half the crap in this article means and the insanity which has lodged into tumblr. I particularly like the insanity of people that claim to be multiple systems.

          • kikorikid

Language is the key to so much, including tyranny.

          • Daniel Greenfield

Control language and you control communication and all that comes through it including the worldview

      • Groucho

I know an Asian who learned to speak English well by listening to BBC tapes on a tape recorder during the Cultural Revolution in Outer Mongolia. The academes have no leg to stand on.

        • Daniel Greenfield

The fellow was suffering from false consciousness. He should have rejected the colonialism of linguistics and studied the Red Book some more.

          • Groucho

It was a matter of survival. They could work the fields or learn English. They could not hack field work.
If they were part of the in group, they would never have been sent to outer Mongolia in the 1st place. So they could not have performed poorly and still have kept their job.

      • truebearing

What the H does “ableist” mean? I’m not hip on victimology.

        • truebearing

Sorry. I see you answered that already. That makes me somewhat disabled. I demand money and other free stuff.

  • laura r

daniel, there is no more social comedy, no more satire. no need for it, reality outdoes itself. all this nonsence comes from the higher ups. the ones that donate, control the purse strings.

  • Nixonfan

All people–including the differently-abled–have exactly the same intelligence. Therefore Dartmouth should not discriminate on the basis of the SAT or other tools which create disparate impacts. Admission should be by lottery, and grades should be abolished. The janitors should teach while the faculty clean toilets. It worked for China.

    • Race_Dissident

      You prophesy while jesting.

  • Smoking Hamster

The Left gets outraged at the wrong 47 percents. Leftists weren’t concerned that 47% of Americans weren’t paying income taxes and slightly more receiving government benefits. No, they were outraged that some guy called them out on it.

Demanding a 47% quota is even more absurd than being outraged over simple facts.

  • seewithyourowneyes

The genius of all the Cultural Marxist “critical studies” courses is that, by definition, the criticism runs in only one direction. We could use some “critical studies” of blackness as well as “whiteness.” Critical studies of of the methods used by welfare bureaucrats to create a “false consciousness” in order to increase their own power. Or how about deconstructing Michel Foucoult? Let’s study how his personal sado-masochism influenced his poisionous Leftist philosophy.

  • kilfincelt

    And stupidity reigns!

  • truebearing

How did they arrive at 47% for post-doctoral students of color? Did they steal that from Romney’s comment about the 47% of parasites in America?

People accused Romney of being “inartful” when he spoke this truth: “”There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it — that that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. … These are people who pay no income tax. … [M]y job is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”

It sounded right on to me.

  • Alisia S

Have these people had to work a day in their lives?! “Transformative Justice?!” Waaay too much time on their idle hands!

    • CaoMoo

No those who are born with everything rarely appreciate it. Even when they do get a job their parents usually have connections so it will be a good job. They dont have to work for it or prove themselves so they project their privilege onto everyone else who they assume is exactly like them. therefore the only reason some people are poor is because someone is oppressing them in their mind.

    • truebearing

They don’t need to work if they can railroad “transformative justice” through. The transformation they think is just is us doing all of the work while they sit around basking in the unending flow of reparations. They really aren’t good for anything else.

  • Hilda

Parents should put pressure on the administration to not capitulate to the
demands of these race/gender/sex Nazis. Moreover, alumni and donors
should withdraw any support to the university.

And let the thugs follow through with “physical action” and
    promptly arrest and/or expel them.

From the looks of the students they admit and graduate at these elitist
universities they ought to be renamed Poison Ivy League.

  • Drakken

I say we should tell those bloody commis, go ahead and bring on your nonsense, we then in turn give it to them hard, real hard to explain the error of their ways. We keep giving in to these useless idiots and they keep pushing the envelope, time for the 2 by 4 treatment.

I’m surprised they don’t want to spell it ‘wombyn,’ just to make sure we get the point!
Oops! Hope I didn’t give the idiots and idea!

So these are women that are concerned about the matriarchal oppression that comes in part from women getting specific pronouns while men must settle for the generic root of human.

        How very stoic.

  • tickletik

Well, somebody has to be stupid/crazy enough to take on those student loans for a worthless certification

  • Penn Quaker

I wanted to be mad about this, but just sat here and laughed.

Sure, let them turn a Dartmouth post-doc into yet another AA entitlement for the semiliterate and low-IQ. What the heck.

It will just underscore the value of a Dartmouth post-doc as the rest of us already view it: a worthless certificate of compliance with X years of indoctrination in decadence and self indulgence.

As for Latin@, maybe they’re unsuccessfully trying to conjugate. You know Latino, Latinas, Latin@. I guess it would thus refer to the offspring of unwed polygyny.

  • herb benty

These spoiled little twerps, most of whom have never done a days work in their life, demanding the university turn itself into a factory for future Leftist concubines. I’ll stick with real Ph.D’s like C.S.Lewis and those in the real sciences that actually help society. Our universities have become a sad joke.

  • CaoMoo

I hate the term differently abled. It emplies you have some sort of ability beyond that of others. Superman is differently abled the X-Men are differently abled. If you have a disability you lack the ability of others plain and simple thus you are in fact disabled, crippled etc. No fancy word play changes that.

  • CaoMoo

  • cxt

I think that instead of pushing the cost/s of the “undocumented” out onto society as a whole those at Dartmouth should take the costs of the “undocumented” students upon themselves.
Not only would it be “more fair” to have the people demanding such pay THIER “fair share.” It would be instructive to see just how much they really believe what they are saying.
Always easy to be a “true believer” with OTHER peoples time and money. Less so when they have to pay the freight themselves.

    • Daniel Greenfield

Ah but then what would they have left to demand?

  • BMS

Enough is enough of this nonsense. What they want is NO WHITE PEOPLE in any programs, classes, teaching assignments. What they want is reverse discrimination!

Dartmouth has a way of making people pay for this sort of thing. When they were forced to admit women they went to a trimester system which make the school one of the toughest in the country.
