De Blasio Blames Media for Making Anti-Cop Protesters Look Bad

131105205748-de-blasio-media-scrum-gi-story-top

That would be the same media which kept insisting that the violent racist protesters were peaceful.

But progressives like Obama and De Blasio seem to have an odd love/hate relationship with the media. The moment a negative note intrudes into the positive coverage, they lash out.

He accused the reporters assembled in front of him of stoking outrage by focusing on “the few” protesters doing “immoral” things.

“They are wrong,” he said, his voice rising.

“But are you going to keep dividing us? What you manage to do is pull up the few who do not represent the majority.”

He called it “unfair,” and insisted most protesters were peaceful but “you guys enable” the troublemakers.

He went on in the vein for several minutes, becoming more forceful and shutting down a persistent reporter by addressing him as “my friend,” a phrase he paired with a death stare.

Rather than convince, the tirade revealed. Like looking at an X-ray, we saw the real de Blasio. It wasn’t a pretty sight.

His heart remains with the protesters, and in spirit, he is still with them, denouncing the very police force that works for him. His passion for the anti-cop agenda is so deep that he wasn’t capable of following his own advice to take a break from divisiveness for even a single day.

Is the media not supposed to report on the arrests of violent protesters who attack police? Is it supposed to carry even more water for that crowd?

Is Bill de Blasio, who turned over City Hall to Al Sharpton, really accusing the media of dividing New Yorkers? Does he think the cops turned their backs to him because of the media? It’s a pathetic and ridiculous performance.

Çrashing police memorials — the Left is the new Westboro Baptist Church.

    • BS77

Yes…I didn’t see any Tea Party people out burning buildings, looting liquor stores, smashing windows and chanting like insane morons….

    • truebearing

Where do you think Westboro learned its tactics from? Meet the new tyrant, same as the old tyrant.

  • Daniel

The media is biased against the Left?……..according to Commissar De Blasio?
I guess that’s like Stalin accusing Pravda of not being pro-Stalin enough.

    • BS77

Now that this unpopular and bizarre Mayor is in full damage control, watch as he BLAMES the media, his detractors, his associates for “distorting” the situation. He will stop appearing on TV with Sharpton behind him….it looks too much like the “power behind the throne”. The best thing this man could do is RESIGN…he has lost immense support from the voters, the police and the business community in New York, who were distressed by seeing rioters and looters given “venting time” and “sympathy” by this mayor.

      • BS77

Also, I sincerely hope he hasn’t the power to ban the horses and carriages from the Central Park area…..

        • BS77

New York voters….well you really elected a prize, didn’t you?????

    • truebearing

He has to blame someone. Obama does the same thing, but the media doesn’t mind. They are hired based on their willingness to take one for the Marxist team.

    • truebearing

Here is another example of a powerful leftist in our government, the DOJ no less, meeting with an advocate of killing cops.

“One Ferguson protest leader Bassem Masri, who was leading the chants in the above video, posted this tweet after the shootings.

Bassem Masri was invited to meet with Eric Holder’s DOJ in November to discuss police reform.”

mediamatters? Puleeze! You might as well use Mother Jones, Solidarity, Salon or the Huff & Puff as unbiased sources. The “Ministry of Truth” does not exist except in the fairly uncluttered mind of a liberal.

Standard right wing response to right wing censorship.
You didn’t hear this on Fox News

President Obama And Mayor De Blasio Both Condemned Violence Against Police Before The NYPD Murders

De Blasio: Protest Organizers “Must Denounce Violence … You
Cannot Talk About Social Change And Then Commit An Act Of Violence
Against A Police Officer.” On December 17, Mayor de Blasio stated
that protesters “absolutely… must denounce violence” if they hope to
achieve progress in police-community relations. His statements strongly
condemning violence against police were made in response to reports that
two NYPD officers had been injured days before as thousands of
        protesters clogged the Brooklyn Bridge:

DE BLASIO: You cannot talk about social change and then commit an act
of violence against a police officer. It makes no sense. It denigrates
the cause. It undermines the legitimacy. It’s illegal, it’s wrong, it’s
        immoral. [Capital New York, 12/17/14]

De Blasio: “We Cannot Accept Violence Against Our Police Officers.”
During a December 19 press conference after a meeting with community
activist group Justice League NYC, New York mayor Bill de Blasio
stressed the importance of peaceful organization “to bring [the] police
and [the] community together” in the wake of several isolated acts of
violence against police during city-wide demonstrations the weekend
        prior:

DE BLASIO: This is what our democracy respects. This is what our
democracy allows for, is people to make their voices heard peacefully,
in an organized way – and that’s what this group and others have been
doing. I made very clear that we cannot accept any violence against our police officers or against anyone.
And they were very quick to affirm that they were appalled equally by
the events on Saturday night. They find it unacceptable and they will
work with the police to identify anyone who seeks to harm the police or
harm anyone and undermine their non-violent peaceful progressive
movement. [Office of the Mayor, 12/19/14 emphasis added]

        • JohnfromToronto

You cannot stand on a podium with Al Sharpton and expect people to believe you. Sharpton has had blood on his hands for years. The lovefest that Obama, Holder and De Blasio have with Sharpton is totally beyond comprehension.

        • Bob Sten

          mruniteus,

Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, ABC, CBS, NBC, the Daily Show, Jon Stewart, MSNBC , the Washington post, the Huffington Post, the NY Times, etc etc, are all “right wing censors” in your mind?

          Drinkin the paranoia cool-aid, huh?

    • glpage

Media Matters has written talking points for MSNBC. Short of Mother Jones or the Daily Kos you can’t get more biased.

      • MrUniteUs1

The quotes of Deblasio denouncing violence before the shooting are accurate. Fox or any right wing talk show host could share this but choose not to. Very disrepectful to the families of the slain policemen.

        • roccolore

Liberals have no respect for police. They still think Mumia is a hero.

        • truebearing

You are one clever devil. You think we don’t know that leftists lie like it’s a bodily function, so if you cite De Blatherio saying something that sounds like his heart is in the right place. It isn’t. He was giving himself pre-emptive cover.

Not so fast, Trix Rabbit. We know better. Leftists are born with a forked tongue. When they blunder they lie their way out of it. The cops that were murdered weren’t white, so none of the lies of critical race theory or white privilege can be used as rationalization. Retreat is De Blatherio’s only option.

You tried to retreat…kind of…but you were confronted with the truth and that always destroys your facade of being reasonable.

    • roccolore

MediaMatters and other Democrats are anti-police. They support copkillers like Mumia. And now they support those protesting police funerals. I guess it wasn’t sick enough when liberals were protesting military funerals.

      • MrUniteUs1

Not true. The quotes are accurate. Fox could have shared but chose not too.

        • truebearing

Liar. They did and do support cop killers like Mumia.

Mouthing some platitudes about non-violence is simply establishing an alibi before the inevitable and premeditated crime(s) occur. That is painfully obvious.

    • truebearing

You are blowing your threadbare cover, genius. You’re a lefty troll self-caricature.

Are you all Media Matters could afford? Are the coffers at Media Madness running dry? Is David Brock spending all of their money on cocaine and anti-sniper technology?

You wouldn’t recognize the truth if it was tattoed on your forehead and you lived in a room of mirrors.

  • MrUniteUs1

Again My prayers go out to the families and friends of the slain officers.

    From http://blackbirdhome.com/alpha

“As dozens of people gathered in Harlem on Sunday to honor two slain New
York police officers, President Obama expressed his condolences and the
president of the NAACP decried the gunman’s claim that he was avenging
two unarmed black men who died in confrontations with police last
    summer.

Young women sang, “This Little Light of Mine” at a
candlelight vigil for officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, who were
shot to death Saturday in Brooklyn. Police say Liu and Ramos were
ambushed by Ismaaiyl Brinsley, who killed himself as police pursued him.

    At
the vigil, demonstrators voiced support for law enforcement and carried
signs that said, “Claim humanity,” “Imagine justice,” “Claim love” and
“We are human.” Some of the participants had also joined protests over
the July death of Eric Garner in a confrontation with police, and over a
Staten Island grand jury’s refusal to indict the officer involved.

    “I’m
here because all life is valuable and all life matters,” Elle Green, a
38-year-old social worker, told the Los Angeles Times.

    Green said
at a time like this it was important to build trust and safety in the
community and to nurture a positive relationship with the police.

“Just because you’re angry doesn’t mean you’re anti-law enforcement,” she said, referring to the anger over Garner’s death.

    Another
demonstrator, the Rev. Stephen Phelps, said those who had participated
in the Garner demonstrations were devastated by the officers’ slaying.

    “Our
hearts were broken,” Phelps told The Times. “We want to see changes,
but at the same time, we want the police to know that we support them.
We want the police to know that we want to work with them.”

    • Daniel

Is this more official propaganda from the Farrakhan Reader you picked up down at the Moorish Science temple?
You can’t go around chanting for DEAD COPS……NOW…….and then when you get it……….run behind a bunch of propaganda and lies for cover.
The Muslims do that as a religiously acceptable thing. So the fact you’re here spewing bullshit shouldn’t surprise me.

      • MrUniteUs1

        Thank you Dan,
You just made DeBlasios point. 40 scumbags walking down a street one night, by themselves, yelling dead cops now, does not represent hundreds of thousands protestors calling for peace and justice.

But you want them to don’t you?

        • Daniel

Oh…….I’m on the opposite side of the fence from trust fund baby, Warren Wilhelm “De Blasio”?
I think I’ll get over that.

          • truebearing

You were spot on. An excellent post, rooted in truth. He has a truth allergy and is in a state of racial anaphylaxis.

        • truebearing

No, he didn’t. You are delusional and dishonest, even with yourself. Such is the mental aberration of a racist ideologue.

Your childish attempt to invert the truth and accuse people of wanting to see cops murdered is nothing more than a form of projection on your part…no different than your accusing others of racism when you are the racist.

To argue that protestors are “decrying the murder of the policemen” is ridiculous and laughable. First of all, are they decrying or protesting? There is a difference. Refer to Mr. Webster. Second, if they are protesting, why weren’t they out on the streets when black thugs were calling for the death of the police before the murders? This is all about political cover. It is the push me, pull you of the racist civil-special-rights cabal.

Lastly, your lie that hundreds of thousands were calling for peace and justice is a lie, on both issues. They were chanting “No justice, No peace,” which is a threat, therefore calling for neither justice or peace. They wanted blood. They wanted Wilson put to death, despite the FACTS in the case which exonerated him 1000%. So much for you idiotic claims about the peace loving rioters.

  • roccolore

Leftists: “We support the anti-cop rallies…but I got a threat. Can I have police protection?”

    • MrUniteUs1

The rallies aren’t anti-cop. Don’t let the headline fool you. They are anti-bad cop and anti-secret grand jury. Most cops are good cops. I say having had a dozens cops pull guns on me one night, while I was sleeping in a car.

      • roccolore

I’ll believe they’re not anti-cop when the Free Mumia crowd publicly denounces the murder of Raphael Ramos and Wenjian Liu. I’ll believe they’re not anti-cop when all those “protest organizers” public tell their follows to knock up the calls for murder.

      • glpage

So, even when they’re chanting they want dead cops, they’re really not being anti-cop. Perhaps most of the protestors are not, but there is a significant portion that is very anti-cop.

        http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/12/23/who-started-new-york-s-dead-cops-chant.html?amp

        • MrUniteUs1

They weren’t chanting dead cops at the rallies. You had about 40 people saying that walking down the street alone, separate from thousands of protestors. I saw the video. Looks fishy and somewhat contrived.

          • truebearing

Your reply is fishy and completely contrived. You present grainy, distant videos, with poor to non-existant audio, as if they are iron-clad proof of your racist views, but won’t accept clear video, with audio, that proves you irrefutably wrong. Your dishonesty is all the proof anyone needs to see who you are and what you are doing.

You aren’t a clever man. Denial of the blatantly obvious is the hallmark of a fanatic.

I’ll link this video again, for your viewing pleasure:
            http://newyorkcityguns.com/2014/12/ferguson-protesters-chant-pigs-in-a-blanket-after-two-nyc-police-officers-executed-video/

      • cree

By what good reasons should individuals of the NYPD or grand juries trust a communist ideologue mayor to know the difference after allowing setting things up that broad sweeps them all? Political brown nosing risks becoming an idiot blind to the consequences not foreseen.

All leftists eventually reveal their various forms of bigotry through their failures with selective self-righteousness.

      • truebearing

You are a contemptible liar. You get paid to create plausible deniability, but it isn’t very effective. You like to use videos to support your racist apologetics. Here is video of a rally in Ferguson, after the NY Cops were murdered by a black racist Muslim. It thoroughly crushes your lame defense of the black racists who you dishonestly claim don’t want to kill cops:

        http://newyorkcityguns.com/2014/12/ferguson-protesters-chant-pigs-in-a-blanket-after-two-nyc-police-officers-executed-video/

        Try to explain that away.

        • MrUniteUs1

Not a rally. Just a few people including One guy yelling loud. His Race under determined. Didn’t see his face. Then some guy in wearing a rag around his face yelling Palestininan. Resistance. Looks like something you might have thrown together. Looked like New York not Ferguson. Sounded like they had New York accents.

          • truebearing

Now you’re a video critic? Did they teach you that at Media Mattress? Good, old media Mattress, where Truth is always laid on a Procrustean Bed.

“One guy yelling loud?” What about the black females answering his “pigs in a blanket” chant?” Did you become selectively deaf?

Have another look…and don’t forget to scroll down to see the hashtag of one of the leaders of this vile scum:

            http://www.teaparty.org/ferguson-protesters-chant-pigs-blanket-two-nyc-police-officers-executed-73749/

New York accents? Didn’t sound like it to me, but then the vast majority of the rioters in Ferguson never were from Ferguson but were shipped in by dozens of leftist groups, so astro-protesting was the rule in Ferguson. Way to walk into that one.

Whenever something doesn’t fit your racist narrative, it isn’t legitimate. How predictable.

          • truebearing

“One Ferguson protest leader Bassem Masri, who was leading the chants in the above video, posted this tweet after the shootings.

Bassem Masri seems to think he’s in Ferguson. Apparently Eric Holder did too, since he met with the advocate of killing cops when he went to Ferguson to incite racial hatred and violence. Now what is Media Mattress telling you to say to this FACT?

          • MrUniteUs1

Thanks TB, Marsi deserves some serious criticism for that chant. He appears to be Palestinian. The video was filmed in St. Louis not Ferguson. I knew it wasn’t small town Ferguson.

          • MrUniteUs1

TB, What do you think about the teaparty.org decision to use a photo of Black Americans protesting in the summer with words from Palenstinan’s Bassem Masri disgusting chant about the slain policeman in New York?

  • halevi

This just goes to show that leftists are brainwashed and you can’t change their minds. They really believe the crap that comes out of their mouths and they believe that their causes are worthy ones no matter what is shown by reality and evidence.

  • Juan Pablo

So now we know he doesn’t think “problem cops” are the exception. He clearly stated here that he would only call cops a problem for black people if he thought that was the rule.
NYPD, you are mostly racist according to your mayor. You need to do more than turn your back on him.

  • Bill the Cat

Funny how di Blasio didn’t seem to have a problem with the media when they were running all the breathless — and untrue — accounts of how blacks were being targeted by police?

So then he and Sweet Al piss on the faces of the NYPD, get two of their officers executed and then it’s a problem with the media? They really do think everyone’s stupid!

I wonder how fast the NYPD will react the next time Sweet Al or di Blasio call? I wonder how many of the NYPD will want to patrol in the black sections?

  • fatebekind

    Mayor Sandinista should resign.

  • Thomas_Black

In De Blasio’s New York City, a number of Blacks, and at least one Muslim, would play a “game” of knockout. Their victims were mostly Jews. There were no demonstrations and no calls to “Burn this motherf—er down!” and “Burn this bitch down!” If fact, some politicians tried to blame it on a lack of jobs or “The accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment.” But of course, Jewish lives do not matter.
