Did Gruber Videos Force Obama to Speed Up Amnesty?

gruber-obama

Ever since the election Obama has been tossing out one shiny distraction after another.

There was a fake “climate pact” with China that didn’t obligate it to anything. Obama suddenly began beating the drum for net neutrality by sending progressive activists after his own FCC chair in one of the most hilarious Wag the Dog moments of his administration.

Amnesty was supposed to be his weapon of choice for sabotaging Republican legislative action. The Republicans propose X, Obama goes into amnesty mode.

For appearance’s sake, the amnesty rollout was supposed to follow a Republican “failure” to move forward allowing Obama to posture as the only serious guy in Washington who is just trying to get things done while Congress keeps obstructing and arguing.

Now Obama is jumping the gun.

Executive amnesty is not all that popular even among Democrats. Pulling that move ideally required blaming Republicans. Announcing his plans with a high profile speech before the GOP Senate is even in session makes it obvious that Obama is not responding to anything Congress did or did not do.

Sure there will be plenty of the same old “If Congress passes the bill that I want, it will supersede my illegal amnesty” nonsense, and “I’m ready to work with Congress anytime, but first I’m going to rule unilaterally like some mad emperor because they suck” stuff in there. And it’s going to look thinner and faker than it would have a little later.

So why is Obama doing it?

1. That boy needs attention – Obama simply can’t reconcile himself to being a lame duck and with Valerie Jarrett’s prompting, no doubt stung by the Politico story and pressure from the Dems to fire her, convinced him that he can establish a domineering role by shooting first.

That’s the kind of obnoxious arrogance that helped make Obama unpopular, not just with Republicans, but even with his own party.

2. The Gruber videos created an urgent need for a distraction. Phony climate pacts and phonier calls for net neutrality weren’t big enough. Gruber is leaking slowly into the mainstream consciousness. This is an emergency effort to suck up all the oxygen in the room, including that of Republicans, with the biggest distraction he can currently manage that doesn’t involve starting a war.

Obama is tripping over his own feet here. He’s sabotaging his own rationale for amnesty by not even pretending to work with a Republican Senate, many of whose members are quite amnesty friendly, but that’s nothing new for him.

In the great political equation, Obama always comes first. Before amnesty. Before anything else. He’ll risk a lot for a measure only because he doesn’t believe he can lose. That same arrogance leads him to toss it out as a distraction assuming that no one can stop him anyway and that he can always repair the damage to his popularity later if he uses it to distract from a major scandal now.

Well, one thing Gruber was right about. American voters are stupid. After all, they elected this disaster of a president twice.

    • gerry

Gruber just confirmed what the rest of the world knew. Not only stupid to elect someone who got his record sealed, but more importantly someone who was inelegible. This quite stupidy.

The boy is mad about himself. He wants to be known in the presidential annals for something “positive,” even it it’s negative and damages the country, which he wouldn’t see as damaging, but as “transforming.” Amnesty will help the Democrats perpetuate his awful legacy, unless Congress gets some gumption and overrides his executive order.

    • gerry

This can be reversed,Obama told us 22 timesthat this was illegal.Quite easy you see.

My opinion: the drubbing Dems got in the election convinced the administration that they need to fill the alien pipeline with future Democrats ASAP.

    • gerry

This is the main reason, they need more than 4-5 millions.

      • carpe diem 36

they have no assurance that those amnestied will be Democrats, maybe they are smarter than Obama.

The 2010 and 2014 elections proved a threat to their power and control. Even all the political scum tactics (like the IRS deal) in the 2012 race. All the consequences of their bad policies goes into denial. The progressive ideology, power and control infatuates these people into madness.

Expect more of BO’s phony distractions to divert from the looming executive amnesty disaster while he proceeds with his next offensive transgression, that will of course need more distractions.

He’s a con man. Is that a synonym or a metonym for ‘politician’?

    • gerry

Only those who want to be conned are conned,

Obama’s amnesty will result in the bottom falling out the current pathetic wages. Especially in this cities with the most “non citizens”:

    http://www.towncharts.com/Top-500-Cities-in-the-US-for-Percent-Of-Non-Citizens.html

Couple this with a 15% – 20% increase in healthcare premiums and the average American will be seriously in trouble.

Imminent riots in Ferguson. Obamacare in jeopardy. And now amnesty for illegals. My oh my, what a perfect storm this is turning out to be!

  • Gamal

Amnesty will create citizens who will vote Democrat. Obama probably wishes he had granted it before the recent elections. Now that the elections have happened he got the message and is granting it. Obama doesn’t want a Republican to get elected in 2 years.

    • carpe diem 36

All those new “Americans” will not be eligible to vote for at least five years from the time they receive their green cards, By the a lot can happen and Obama will be gone and forgotten and the old America will come roaring back.

  • namberak

The timing on this bit of eye gouging really is a curiosity. If the no-bill on Officer Wilson comes down tomorrow, then I suspect this disaster will have been announced today to keep the molotov cocktail he’s thrown into Ferguson, MO off the front pages and that it gets Gruber off them too, alls the better.

Breaking news: Standartenführer Jonathan Gruber cut from White House staff.

    • carpe diem 36

And to top this travesty he is Jewish.

For a supposedly brilliant Constitutional scholar, Obama is woefully unclear on the way the Constitution works. If Congress does not send him the bills he wants he’s SOL. No where in the Constitution does it say the President gets to throw a tantrum and play king if Congress won’t give him what he demands. It’s that nasty ol’ balance of power thing.

Impeach and stop the nonsense of the last six years!
