Considering that the FSA is deeply intertwined with the Al-Nusra Front this should come as no surprise.

Even rebels who supported the strikes on the Islamic State criticized the targeting of the Nusra Front, which they consider a loyal partner in the battle against Mr. Assad.

“It is not the right time to target the Nusra Front,” said Lt. Col. Fares al-Bayyoush, whose rebel group has received support from the United States and its allies.

Colonel Bayyoush was also angry that the American strike had killed civilians

Bayyoush heads the FSA’s Fursan al-Haq Brigade or Knights of Righteousness Brigade. Haq carries heavy Islamist connotations so it should come as no surprise what the knights stand for.

Earlier Bayyoush was quoted as saying that his Knights had fought alongside the Al-Nusra Front, which was an outlet of Al Qaeda and ISIS and has since pledged allegiance to ISIS.

“Lt. Col. Fares al-Bayyoush, a former aviation operative who now heads a Fursan al-Haq Brigade, concurred that his organisation had fought alongside a Nusra Front given they indispensable all a assistance they could get.

“Sometimes, he said, that assistance comes in forms usually a jihadi organisation can provide. He cited a insurgent takeover of a northern city of Khan Sheikhoun, observant that a rebels were incompetent to take out one supervision position until a Nusra Front sent a self-murder bomber to blow it up. In another city nearby, Nusra sent 4 bombers, including an American citizen.

“‘We inspire them actually,’ Mr. Bayyoush pronounced with a laugh. ‘And if they need vehicles, we yield them’.”

Haq is allegedly funded by Qatar, a key sponsor of ISIS, but has received TOW missiles from the US despite the fact that it’s clearly still aligned with Al Qaeda.

It’s strange that a Muslim terrorist group would incorporate the term Knight, owing to its obvious connection to Christian Crusaders. Perhaps they don’t find that so offensive after all.

“Colonel Bayyoush was also angry that the American strike had killed civilians” – NYT.

Was he expecting Obama’s bombers to send text messages for civilians to evacuate, like Israel did?

    • Gee

Heck the US doesn’t even care if there are civilians there – they merely follow international law (real law) and bomb away without any sort of warning.

Only Israel is expected to adhere to that level

did anyone not see this coming…

Colonel Bayyoush should complain to the UN.
But then its surprising that Al Nusra dosn’t already have a seat on the UNHC.
    every other despotic moron does.
