Hamas Killed its Own Diggers to Keep Tunnels Secret

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. He is completing a book on the international challenges America faces in the 21st century.

I bet the tunnel diggers were oppressing the poor oppressed people of Gaza… somehow.

In an attempt to protect their secrets from being revealed to the Israeli security forces, Hamas has executed tens of Gazan tunnel diggers in the last few weeks. The mass execution is said to have taken place after attempts from Hamas to make sure that the excavators knew nothing of the locations in which they were digging.

“They would take the diggers, about a hundred men, in vans with blindfolds so that they wouldn’t know the location of the tunnels and at the end of the day would blindfold them again and return them to their homes.”

Diggers worked on average between 8-12 hours with breaks and received a monthly wage of $150-$300.

Maybe SEIU can figure out how to unionize the diggers and demand better working conditions. Such as an 8-hour day and no executions.

The Hamas terrorists were always masked so that they could not be recognized by the excavators and the latter would go through daily strip searches to ensure that they were not wearing recording devices or hidden cameras.

More Zionist oppression.

/me Tries to register shock and surprise at the stupidity of the diggers and the unbridled evil of their terrorist masters.
    /me Fails.

Maybe the diggers were day laborers and day laborers who usually work these type of jobs.

The workers either need the money because unlike the leaders or fighters they are not sucking on the UN teat like a pig

      or

The workers are approached by some intimidating AK47 leftists saying “You want to work for the cause, right?”

If they don’t comply they get beaten down or killed then or there, where as they haven’t yet heard of these leftists killing people who cooperate with them. I see these workers as desperate for money or feeling trapped. Where are they going to run?

And the diggers are from the people who call themselves Palestinians (they are Trans-Jordanians) which means they danced with the rest of the scum on 9/11. I feel absolutely no sympathy for those digging the tunnels any more than I do for the terrorists. The popular refrain to excuse them is: Oh! But they are poor and resentful. Nonsense. Osama bin Laden was a millionaire and most of the 9/11 killers were educated middle or upper class youth. I don’t buy the ‘innocent diggers’ line.

OBL, when he was living the high life in Yemen, owned an Arabian stallion that probably cost more than all the cars you’ve ever owned in your life put together.

There are about 1.8 million people in the Gaza Strip. That is more than enough people to have rich, poor and in between. The Gaza Strip is like a petri dish full of bacteria. When bacteria is crowded, the bacteria get stressed. When people get crowded, they get stressed.

I do not much doubt that these people danced on 911. They were brought up that way. I also don’t doubt that They saw Hamas’s brutality and when they were asked to work they were leery of working for Hamas, but they needed the work and had no where to run.

The workers had families. These worker’s deaths have brought resentment against Hamas as it rightfully should.

You are right on one thing. The Gaza strip is like a petri dish full of bacteria. We should sterilize it before it spreads.

In some European countries it takes years to fire someone. Leftists aren’t going to be happy about this one. (where’s the sarcasm off button?)

Daniel, what is the source for this? I believe you but I want to send it to a lefty friend who need enlightening and she will want to know the source.

Because I seem mostly to be sending materials to lefties, I feel a need to have it sourced. I so much appreciate your blog and your articles and the high quality of your writing and reportage, but sourcing would be very helpful if it is not too much trouble.

    • Barbara

Nevermind. I googled it. Still, it would be helpful to have sourcing. But you are probably too busy for it.

    Clint Eastwood as “Blondie” in The Good,the Bad,and the Ugly,to Tuco;
“there are those of us with guns, and those who dig. you dig.”

this also reminds me of the people forced to dig their own graves, then shot so they fall into the graves.

To Daniel Greenfield. I posted this on my FB page, and was challenged by a liberal. What were your sources for this inflammatory column? If you want credibility, you have to cite some reliable source. PLEASE RESPOND.

There is a link in the first line of Daniel’s article, it is the red lettering.

I’m sure SEIU would demand an 8 hr day and no executions … until they get a kickback and they have time for the pre-dead to be called ‘scabs.’

  • IslamDownpressesHumanity

I’m sure the lieberal lett will be asking the most important question:
were they paid before they were executed?

One good thing about this bad thing, bad guys are killing bad guys. Whether they just dug to tunnels for money or because they were fanatics, they are now dead. And maybe the word will get around and the next batch of diggers won’t dig doing the job.
