Holder: I’ve Shown Respect Where I Haven’t Been Given Any

601215719123

In an interview, Attorney General Eric Holder is once again complaining that, like Rodney Dangerfield, he can’t get any respect.

I would hope that my successor would not have to endure some of the things that I did. And I say “endure” only because I think I’ve shown respect where, perhaps, I haven’t been given any.

The question is why does Holder believe that he’s particularly entitled to respect?

We’ve been hearing this line from Obama and his cronies for a while now. People are disrespecting Obama by not calling him president (but calling Bush, Bush, was just fine).

The issue isn’t respect. It’s the law.

You aren’t entitled to respect commensurate with your position. That’s how it works in feudal societies. The respect you are entitled to is based on how you comport yourself in that position.

When you disrespect the entire nation by calling it a “nation of cowards” then why should you expect to exchange disrespect for respect?

But respect or disrespect isn’t the point. What Holder calls disrespect mainly consists of attempts to hold him accountable for blatantly violating the law and obstructing justice.

Holder considers that disrespectful.

And that’s the problem here. This isn’t about respect. It’s about doing the right thing.

You can’t hijack the government, violate the law, lie about it, obstruct justice, get people killed and then complain that you aren’t getting enough respect.

Respect is a form. If everything else is in working order, it’s there. If isn’t, then there’s no place for respect either.

  • kasandra

Well, he certainly hasn’t shown any respect for the rule of law.

  • SandyLester

Respect is earned, the only thing Holder has earned is contempt.

    • Barrustio

Actually respect should not have to be earned but should be automatically given…it can only be lost when you engage in actions that merit the loss of one’s respect. Holder deserves no respect.

      • tagalog

I think you’re mixing “respect” up with “regard.”

        • Barrustio

No…Nobody has to tell me to address an elderly stranger with a “yes sir” or “yes ma’am”. It is a form of respect which I was taught is automatically given, as well as other forms of respect to total strangers…and they will always have my respect until they do something undeserving of it. Now my parents, from whom I learned respect…I hold in high “regard”.

          • tagalog

True, but that kind of respect is respect for experience or age, not for the person.

In that regard, it’s like in the Army, where you salute (a gesture of respect) the uniform, not necessarily the man wearing it.

          • Barrustio

Of course it’s for the person. The person always starts out with an “A”…only through failure do they get and “F”… doesn’t have to be elderly, it can be a young person whom you may not greet with a “yes sir” “yes ma’am” but still deserve a level of respect, without having to earn it…that would be an arrogant expectation for someone to feel that THEIR respect must be “earned” rather than have it freely given.

  • Gee

When he supports criminals and terrorists – he gets far more respect than he has earned.

The only thing he should shown is the door to his cell

A wooden post and a blindfold would be better….nah, skip the blindfold…

When you insult most Americans and even get them killed because of your manipulation and even flouting the law, and do it for years and aren’t held responsible for the consequences of your action, all you’ll do is cause people to so despise you that they want to clean your clock without any Secret Service interference.

  • edlancey

Just wait till Obama puts Holder on the Supreme Court…

    • Bamaguje

      Not gonna happen.
You seem to forget Republicans control the Senate.

  • Libslayer

Eric holder is a cockroach. and he deserves all the respect that a cockroach deserves.

    • lgwatson

      You said it!!

  • Texas Patriot

DG: The question is why does Holder believe that he’s particularly entitled to respect?

What many conservatives seem to have forgotten today, is that all human beings are entitled to respect simply because of the inherent and universal quality of human dignity. The book of Genesis teaches that all men and women are created in the image of God. No other creature can claim that. So when we fail to recognize and respect the dignity of another human being, we are in a sense failing to respect the image of God in that human being, and of course we all know that God demands our highest respect and will not tolerate even the slightest lack of it. The good news is that it was not so very long ago that respect for the human dignity of all people was at the heart of being an American Conservative:

The conscience of the Conservative is pricked by anyone who would debase the dignity of the individual human being.

Barry Goldwater, The Conscience of a Conservative (1960)

Very true. And then they turned him over to the Romans on false charges to be scourged and crucified. Hypocrites are very dangerous people, and they must be handled with care.

When we acknowledge the plank in our own eye, do we ignore the knife in our back? Obama and Holder had
a great opportunity to earn respect, but they lied with contempt and breached the trust of their Office.

Respect is based on a mutual understanding beginning with self-respect. Even Jesus made reference to vipers,
thieves, swine and followers of the Evil One. He knew them.

          • Texas Patriot

The purpose of taking the plank out of our own eye is so that we may see more clearly. Seeing more clearly gives us a better chance of avoiding the knife in the back as well as possibly helping others to see more clearly also.

Jesus said nothing to eliminate the right of all people to defend themselves against violent attack, but he knew very well that all men and women are created in the image of God and as such entitled to a certain level of respect and dignity as human beings, regardless of their faults. Trust is something else. As Ronald Reagan said, “trust but verify”, and as Thomas Jefferson said, “the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.”

My personal view is that all elected officials should expect to be investigated and held accountable for any breach of the duty entrusted to them by the American people.

          • camp7

Of course. Only that trust is a consequence of respect.

Sometimes seeing more clearly helps us recognize that our brother’s splinter is a log. The glitch is the accountability part.

  • De Doc

Holder is a class act jerk. Was he really so naive to think that the AG office was immune to criticism? He’s not a victimized black man – he’s a thin skinned liberal elitist, who thinks he’s above the law and way past any critical examination.

    • JR Kipling

Nothing that Holder does or thinks can be understook in terms of human emotions or motives. He understands perfectly the crimes he is committing. As all Communists the goal will excuse every crime. Holder is a pathological monster. We narrowly escaped a murderous civil war which he is promoting even now. …next time we wont be so lucky

    • tagalog

Too bad he couldn’t go back in time and be a fly on the wall of John Mitchell’s office.

  • sydchaden

After his refusal to prosecute Black Muslim goons who intimidated voters, and his designation of the murder of US military officers by a Muslim terrorist as “workplace violence”, and his failure to investigate a clearly corrupt IRS, “no respect” is more respect than Holder deserves.

  • VHG1

He really does belong in prison for all his crimes

  • Fed Up

What, do supplicants not present appropriate offerings of oxen, goats, chickens and wives?

“You aren’t entitled to respect commensurate with your position. That’s how it works in feudal societies. The respect you are entitled to is based on how you comport yourself in that position.”

Too many people fail to understand this today. It might not seem like a big deal but it’s huge. Respect in atheist terms is often used in place of faith.

It’s related to the communist / competence problem. The central plan should work because it’s authorized to work. If you just respect and have faith in Dear Leader, Utopia is just around the corner according to the plan. Failure is the fault of those that don’t have faith in Dear Leader and the plan.

  • truebearing

If you asked Holder if racists deserve respect, he would say they don’t, but he is a racist himself, so why should people respect him?

If you asked him if liars deserve respect, he’d say they don’t, but he is a chronic liar.

Holder is seriously delusional. He expects people that he hates to show respect to him while he schemes to deny them their rights.

  • SCREW SOCIALISM

Last night Congress said I should take a walk after dinner.

I wuz in a plane at 30,000 ft.

    No respect. No respect.

  • Hans

The author hit the nail on the head with this post and Holder knows it and is pretending he was just doing his job, like lying is a part of his job !! I will be sooo glad when he is GONE

  • Penny Fuentes

Respect is earned, not expected, by these lowlife who think that because of their color they should not have to work for Respect. Obama and he are lowlife scum.

  • a_goodtarheel1

Wow! Another put-upon victim, just like his partner in crime, King Barry Inept!

  • Lowell

Article 1 section 9: No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no
Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without
the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office,
or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.

President, vice-president, attorney general, speaker of the house, congressman, are all job titles. The “Mister” in front of their job title is a sign of respect, but it is by no means, a requirement. The same applies to ” your honor” when addressing a judge. To be addressed as “Mister”, or “Your Honor”, requires that those traits be exhibited in the individual being addressed.

  • D-man

Wahhhhhhh, you all don’t like me cause I’m black,it couldnt possibly be because of the non prosecution of the NBP,or non enforcement of federal laws,or gun running to Mexican Cartels in order to get gun regulations pushed ,that resulted in the deaths of countless Mexicans and wounding several and one (known) death of border patrol agent. It couldn’t possibly be the gerrymandering in all the voter ID laws ,or injecting federal investigations into 3 media promoted high profile cases just because you don’t like the outcome of the judicial process. It also couldn’t be about the dismissal of DOJ attorneys for trumped up false reasons because they actually want to do their jobs, or you commited perjury in front of Congress,or because of my obfuscation I am the first DOJ held in contempt of Congress by a bipartisan vote.Or it couldn’t possibly be that I started and continue to load the DOJ with radical chip on the shoulder grievance mongering lawyers. Or that I violated my oath of office so many times that if I had an R) after my name I would have been removed after vilification from the media, and the Congress, because Atty General Alvarez was removed by false ,trumped up witch hunt false narrative of firing lawyers because they wouldn’t do their jobs, not just because they were D)s like was claimed, ignoring the fact that Atty Gen.Reno fired twice as many just because they were R)s(media silent).
Yes,its because of my skin pigmentation that you dislike me .Why do I say that you ask? Because it excuses the derilection of duty and prejudice of my office.

  • JR2

Well, let’s hope the new Republican senate, combined with the Republican congress, does something about what’s been going on. They’ll have plenty of power. If they don’t, things just go on as they are, I’m not even going to bother to vote in 2016.

    • Yorkiemom

Right off the bat, I can tell you with Boehner and McConnell in charge it is going to be business as usual. They, too, are scared of being called a racist. Like you, I will not even bother voting in 2016 if our standard bearer is going to be the liberal democrat lite Jeb Bush. Will they ever learn???? My gosh, George got beat up so bad in the media and never recovered ( though, truthfully, he never even weakly fought back, which was dumb) and now the stupid establishment thinks Jeb will be roundly accepted by we, the people, who make this country work? Not a fat chance!! They can take Jeb Bush and stick him where the sun don’t shine.

      • JR2

We’ll see what happens, if the Republicans tank on us, then we won’t vote. Why would we? I’ll be 61 in February (the guy at the liquor store I go to thought I was 45 :), so at this point in my life, it’s like watching a good horror movie, but it’s real. I just thank God I’m not 20 right now, I had a great time growing up in this country. I can’t imagine what it’s like now, to be young and walk around so angry, about causes that don’t even exist.

        • Yorkiemom

I , too, am glad I am not 20 something. They will not have it as good as we did as children. However, they voted almost en bloc for this fool we have and now they can have the pleasure of paying for this incompetent jackass’ mistakes. I would give up altogether but I have three sons and a grandson and granddaughter that I worry about. So I will continue to do the best I can. All hope will be lost if they put up Jeb Bush as the standard bearer. He will lose big time to whatever nightmare the dems throw at us. And you can bet that person will be as incompetent and stupid as what we have now. Makes me sick!!!!!

          • JR2

Where do you live? And are you married?

          • Yorkiemom

            LOL!!!!!

      • JR2

By the way, I have a Yorkie, too, so I guess that makes me a Yorkiedad!

        • Yorkiemom

I hope you are a PROUD Yorkiedad. They are the cutest, lovingest puppies I ever had. I have three, Megan, Max and Moe and they are spoiled rotten. They do everything but talk. I rescued Moe and he is my best behaved baby but I love them all so much. My first Yorkie was Annie and she was a little tomboy. Not a girly bone in her body. I lost her at age 9 and it just about killed me and my husband. She was so loved. I cried for about a year over her death. Then I got Megan. She is a girly girl. I see a lot of men with Yorkies, even a biker has one and she loves to ride on the bike. Even has her own goggles!

  • itsfun

Whine, whine, whine, Holder and Obama, just whine and blame others for their failures.

  • Poodleguy

Hey Eric, you sorry assed racist punk – one is not GIVEN respect, it must be earned! All you have earned is a long stay in a federal prison for treason!!!!

  • Barrustio

Poor baby…I’m sure all the disrespect is because he’s Black ;-)

    • Yorkiemom

But, of course. I couldn’t be anything but the fact he is black. It couldn’t be because he comes off on every occasion as an obnoxious, entitled, uppity Negro who exudes his hatred of white people on his sleeve. He does not realize, as don’t 99% of the black race, he is so fortunate to be in this country. He could be in the motherland swatting flies off his half-starved baby and sweating his rear end off. Holder and Obama, they want to ruin this nation and probably will with the ineffective leadership in the republican party.

  • Yorkiemom

Voting in a black administration, knowing the black people feel terribly victimized by the majority (white people) in this country, and, added to that, the very fact that Obama ( I refuse to call him President because of his comportment representing all of us) was a “community organizer” (agitator), gives the country exactly what they deserve in terms of leadership or lack thereof. Holder and Obama have their nerve to complain of their treatment. We let Obama gut the constitution, run roughshod over our laws and never, ever dare try to stop him, all because we are too afraid they will hurl the word racist at us – and that would be terrible in some folks’ minds. Ditto for Holder. I just hope Obama does not agitate to the point where the decent people have had enough and will take it upon themselves to do something about this travesty. Because he will declare martial law and take over permanently. That I am terribly afraid of. I cannot imagine Michelle and Barack giving up the wonderful perks, the “media” slobbering all over themselves covering the “First Couple” or just the sweet deal they have now to willingly to go softly into the night. Not those grifters. What a horrid mistake We The People made. I just hope we do not have to live with this forever.

    • Glatik

      Great post.

  • jcfriday

This guy deserves nothing more than utter contempt for all the times he broke the law and thumbed his nose at the Constitution. He is a contemptible swine.

  • Glatik

When you disrespect the entire nation by calling it a “nation of cowards”
then why should you expect to exchange disrespect for respect? Of course we
should ‘respect’ our top law enforcement officer who sells guns to Mexican
Cartels that they use to kill American Patrolmen !! Of course we should
‘respect’ our top law enforcement officer who “SUES” sovereign states of the
union who are doing on the state level what the feds are not doing to protect
our borders. YEP, this guy deserved a whole lot of DIS-respect for the way he
abused his job and tried to intimidate everyone who operated in the confines of
the law of the land, the Constitution. He’s is an example of incompetent and
UNAmerican Cabinet Member without any real peer, unless you want to evaluate his
    boss.

How can anyone respect an Obama clone ?

  • barbaro70

Holder is the classic Barack Hussein Obola lackey, blindly loyal to Barack Hussein Obola´s stupid idea of transforming the most exceptional and greatest nation in the history of law, thinking that he can violate the law as he requires. But Americans are now seeing their mistake in electing Barack Hussein Obola to the presidency, not once, but twice, and Holder, feeling the heat, is getting out while the getting is good, now that his fat cat federal retirement package is ripe. They both know that they have humiliated themselves and will leave not with a legacy, but with a stigma, that of being the worst president and attorney general ever in the history of the USA.

When they are gone, we will fumigate the White House to make it livable again, clean up Barack Hussein Obola´s and Holders messes–not easy, and return to being the most exceptional and greatest country in the history of man.

  • C6Vette

For a guy that Disrespects the American Public, our Military, lies to our faces, withholds evidence that would incriminate HIM & OBOZO and he thinks he deserves Respect? NO WAY, he is a Bigoted AG and goes against everything that took decades to build (Racial Equality) and calls the Cops and any White American Racist and expects something he has not earned but truly has earned Disrespect from Everyone, no matter what color they are! We are going backwards by decades on racial equality due to him and the Poser in our Oral Office! I should throw in Al (not the sharpest pencil on the desk) Sharpton, Jesse Jackson & Farrakan, talk about a bunch of Losers! He should NOT be in that position, he should find a job more suited for him, maybe body guard for Sharpton?!

  • jmac67

Respect is earned and he hasn’t earned it by his actions or words. The same goes for his boss.

  • tagalog

Respect is a thing you only get when you act in praiseworthy ways. Like a lot of low-rent people, Eric Holder seems to think you’re entitled to respect when what he seems to mean is that one is ENTITLED to be considered to have started out the same as everyone else (unless he demonstrates that he deserves to be treated differently).

As has already been said, one must EARN respect. All officers-in-training in the armed forces of this nation are taught that; maybe Mr. Holder should have done a hitch in the service.

  • tagalog

But Bubba will appreciate it anyway.

    • Barrustio

Uuugh….that’s a visual I could have done without…excuse me while I go upchuck

Most people understand that respect is earned. Holder and Obama seen to think respect is demanded.
