If You Lose Weight, You’re Destroying the Planet

In 2011, a study claimed that losing weight could help save the planet from the Flying Global Warming Monster.

Being overweight is bad for the environment as well as your health, according to a study released today.

Researchers at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine found that overweight people were likely to be more responsible for carbon emissions than slim people because they consume more food and fuel.

We estimated that a 10 kg weight loss of all obese and overweight people would result in a decrease of 49.560 Mt of CO(2) per year, which would equal to 0.2% of the CO(2) emitted globally in 2007. This reduction could help meet the CO(2) emission reduction targets and unquestionably would be of a great benefit to the global health.

Science spoke. And only a bunch of ignorant mouth-breathing troglodytes who don’t follow Neil deGrasse Tyson on Twitter would dare to disagree.

But no wait. Apparently losing weight does cause Global Warming.

Despite a worldwide obsession with diets and fitness regimes, many health professionals cannot correctly answer the question of where body fat goes when people lose weight, a new study shows. The most common misconception among doctors, dieticians and personal trainers is that the missing mass has been converted into energy or heat. The correct answer is that most of the mass is breathed out as carbon dioxide and goes into thin air.

But wait. Obesity also causes Global Warming.

Expanding waistlines are not just tipping scales but may also push the mercury higher around the world, according to a new study.

As humanity becomes more rotund, more resources are needed to cool, nourish and transport the extra weight, a trend that can contribute to climate change by requiring the consumption of more fossil fuels and resulting in more greenhouse gas emissions.

Whether or not you lose weight, you’re destroying the planet… because you’ve alive. But let’s hear from other leading experts, like Hillary Clinton.

Speaking to State Department staff on Earth Day, Mrs Clinton said more must be done to reduce the department’s environmental footprint and conceded this was a big challenge, much like one of her personal battles.

“Often times when you face such an overwhelming challenge as global climate change, it can be somewhat daunting – it’s kind of like trying to lose weight, which I know something about,” she said to laughter.

But wait, Latino Fox News says Italian mountain goat-antelopes are losing weight because of Global Warming. So it’s all right then.

    What most people are missing is that weight loss is not a nuclear science. All you have to do is to understand where extra weight (read fat) is coming from. To put it simple, you need energy to live your life. Every day you need a certain amount of energy. The exact amount depends on what you do throughout the day. The more active you spend your day, the more energy you need. Food gives you that energy in form of calories. So, if you consume more calories, than you spend throughout the day, it transform into the fat. If you consume less calories than you spend, you lose your extra pounds. That simple!

      For normal healthy people, but most of overweight people are disabled. Most overweight people have medical problems and NOT due to their weight.. With their medical problems comes prescription medicines and with the medicines come side effects along with weight gain is your number one side effect. Every prescription from blood pressure, cholestral, pain, depression and antibiotics causes weight gain and the slowing down of a person”s metabolic rate. There are so many other reasons and it is not so easy to lose weight once these people have gained their weight. It is not easy or possible to get your metabolic rate going once the prescriptions have caused their damage. I wish it was as simple as you make it seem it would make a lot of people skinny and happier with their bodies.

        There’s saying – we are what we eat. I tend to believe that most medical problems people get from stuff they consume. Stuff, not food. I can’t call “rubber” candies, for example, food.

        Unfortunately, quite often I can see a small kid in a push chair, like 2-4 years old, eating crisps (chips), those “rubber” sweets, drinking sodas, etc. Why would such a person grow up well and healthy?! In this case it’s total fault of their parents, unfortunately. However, when that kid becomes an adult, it’s his personal responsibility to continue the same lifestyle he grew up with his parents or live his own healthy life, eating natural and healthy food and doing sports.

        As to medications, again, first people live their lives absolutely not caring about their health and body, and then, when the health is f-ed up, they go to the doctor asking for help. But the most curious thing is that most of them don’t even try to change their lifestyle to get back to the “healthy” track. They ask doctor for medicine so that they can continue life as before. Why do you think weight loss supplements are so popular? Because, first, people don’t have to do anything to lose weight (as they think), second, they think that those pill will burn all their fat so that they can continue eating as much as before or even more.

        And finally, simple question: have you ever seen or heard that an overweight person starved to death staying fat until his/her last day? I haven’t.

        Of course there’s more than “calories in vs. calories out”, however it’s not possible to gain weight if you spend more calories, than you consume. Where that extra weight will come from? Unless your medications are rich with macro nutrients (carbs/fat/proteins).

          I am so sorry I thought I was conversing with an intelligent person who was ignorant (without knowledge) instead of a stupid (with knowledge) person. I really hate closed minded, liberal people who think the answer is more exercise and less food. You are part of the problem in this Country and not the solution. What about the person who eats about 600-800 calories a day whose metabolic rate has ceased to burn any calories because medicine has slowed the body down and it thinks it is in the “starvation mode”. They drink water not coffee or any other drinks, and eats once a day a small amount of food because their pain level is so high it makes them nauseous and it is hard to eat. 3 blood pressure medications make them cold in the winter and can’t get out in the sun in spring, summer, or fall (even if they could walk) or they will get overheated and die of heat stroke (side effect of medicines). She also have injuries from an ex who liked to pass judgement and thought he was always right and knew everything and liked to beat her. 7 bulging discs in her back, all the ligaments torn and unattached in her foot that makes walking difficult and very painful. Since she is on disability she makes $872. monthly and pay for her rent utilities, phone etc and buy her medicines., and food. No extras of any kind. She has not bought clothes or shoes in 5 years or left her home just for Drs. appointment because it is so painful. She doesn’t own a car, cell or cable. She can’t get medically fixed even if it was possible because medicare/medicaid does not pay to fix people like her just make them comfortable and she definitely is not comfortable and it will be worse after Jan.1, 15. I know I help her for free for those last 5 years. She doesn’t want to be a burden on society or take from someone else who might need help more that she does she thinks. She still has her pride and does care about others. I respect her and what she is going through. I am trying to be part of a solution and not part of the problem. I have 10 acres in rural America and I have at least an acre of ground I plant and give to a food pantry so people get to eat fresh organic foods that aren’t GMO’s and raise chickens and I make my own organic healthy feed so the eggs are also organic and don’t have GMO’S and the crap put in the feed. You know when they put ingredients in chicken food (laying pellet) for chickens it is to make them lay eggs, so what happens when people eat those eggs or chickens that have been feed that crap? Little girls grow breasts and have their periods at 7-8 yrs. old and little boys grow breasts and have estrogen instead of testosterone and gain weight. Soy is pure estrogen in the human body. Food in stores make you fat and kill you unless you know it is fresh homegrown and organic. Learn about medicines and food and what happens to the body after it is ingested……

    Everybody, stop what you are doing. Do not move a muscle. The slightest twitch could cause catastrophic global warming. Good grief. Losing weight and improving ones health in the short term will have deadly consequences in the long term. Staying overweight in the short term and reducing your own life expectancy will help save the planet in the long term. Quite the conundrum.

    Just as we were coming to grips with the acceptance of fat people, now we can blame them for killing the planet, and it is now OK to vilify and shun them, and make them feel horrible for their using more resources than the thins. It is now the starving people of the third world who are Climate Heroes. Doing their part to save the planet. Better stop my sponsorship of the little Ethiopian boy pronto.

    I really don’t know how much more of this universal insanity I can take. Time to go on an eating binge, kill myself and the planet at the same time and end it once and for all.

    Just what I thought. Breathing is the problem. It isn’t whether you’re fat or skinny that matters. It is whether you are breathing. Now the Left has taken both sides in the same argument and the outcome is clear: we will have to reduce our breathing.

    If you are saying the things the Left wants you to say, you can blather ad nauseam because you get “PC breathing credits,” but if you are a conservative, your breathing will be reduced to just below the amount needed to survive.

    The PC Breathing Credits work similar to regular PC Credits or Carbon Credits. Make as many racist comments as you want, or spew carbon while flying your jet all over the world. You’re covered by Political Correctness. Criticize global warming and you will be exiled to Anaerobia.

    The Left considers your death a political gain. You no longer vote against them but post mortem vote with them, and probably twice.

    I guess exercise is also bad – the harder and faster you breathe, the more CO2 you put out….but gee, don’t they want all of us to walk and/or bike to work?
    And as for losing weight supposedly contributing to global warming, I guess by their logic the worst offenders (other than humans) would be large animals that binge, gain lots of weight and then hibernate, like bears. Yeah, maybe it’s the bears that are causing global warming….so polar bears will go extinct because black and grizzly bears keep gaining and losing weight every year….clearly logic isn’t the libtard strong suit.
