Personally, I'm pulling for global warming, and soon. It got down to around -17 last night and a supplier an hour west of me said his valley hit -25. I'd like to drag this alarmist out to one of these valleys where the cold concentrates and make him sit there all night, contemplating the horrors of global warming. It might not freeze the stupidity out of him, but I wouldn't have to listen to him blather either. He'd be too cold to talk, if he survived.

If forums were not considered impromptu polls political organizations would not pay people to post in forums and try to shift public opinion.

Thus political sensitive topics have to have no forums.

But if you want to opinion on whether Miley Cyrus should wear a blue dress or a red dress, well that is an acceptable reason to have an open forum.

A forum is a type of poll with a large margin of error but it is a poll. Additionally it might sample from a subset of the universe, but it is still a poll, a bell weather.

If people saw a trend that wasn't to the liking of the intelligentsia or saw that they were not alone in their world view or view on some subject they will not as easily take the cough medicine the liberals are peddling.

Phone polls can be controlled with leading questions. It is easier to massage the data.

A forum can be a poll. Such polls are dangerous. While such forums/polls can be hijacked or skewed, over time they will tell you what other people are thinking.

It would be bad for people to know they are numerous and strong.

It is harder to play cattle rancher.

I am beginning to believe that in some disciples related to climate study all one needs to do to get a PhD is to regurgitate the climate change party line. Actual knowledge of how science is supposed to work, actually doing rigorous, reproducible research with realistic data models, and understanding the concepts of hypothesis and theory is not only not required but preferably shunned.

I beleive the article (story really) linked below had a side bar graphic. It said it would be so warm that it would not rain in the summer and would not snow in the winter. Instead of snow we would get rain and flooding in the winter.

I'll have to go to the library and hope they have physical copies to peruse or have a subscription. I want a copy of that side bar with their predication and the date.

So far it is still snowing in winter and the Warmists are running out of years until 2100. It has been over a quarter of a century and their predications are off by a lot.
