IRS Loses “Targeting Scandal” Emails from Other Employees

A whole lot of “computer crashes” happening at the IRS.

Congressional investigators say the Internal Revenue Service has lost more emails connected to the tea party investigation.

The IRS said last Friday it had lost an untold number of emails when Lois Lerner’s computer crashed in 2011. Lerner used to head the division that handles applications for tax-exempt status.

On Tuesday, two key lawmakers said the IRS has also lost emails from additional officials whose computers crashed.

House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-Mich.) said one of those employees is Nikole Flax, who was chief of staff to then-Deputy IRS Commissioner Steve Miller. Miller was fired from the IRS after the targeting scandal broke, and Republicans have been seeking Flax’s emails as a way to uncover more evidence about the scandal.

Camp and Rep. Charles Boustany (R-La.), who chairs the oversight subcommittee, said the lost emails now make it appear that the IRS was lying when it said it would work with Republicans to find pertinent information about the targeting scandal.

“It looks like the American people were lied to and the IRS tried to cover-up the fact it conveniently lost key documents in this investigation,” they said. “The White House promised full cooperation, the Commissioner promised full access to Lois Lerner emails and now the Agency claims it cannot produce those materials and they’ve known for months they couldn’t do this.”

The two Republicans said Flax appeared to be a “frequent visitor” to the White House, which raises other questions.

Just wait till the crashes spread to Obama and Hillary.

Congress needs to confiscate all computers, including servers, that may have been used by IRS people to communicate about this issue and then hire a data recovery company to read the hard drives. More than likely, they will find those “lost” emails.

      I am changing my mind.

I had believed those people who said that impeaching Obama was impossible and would be counterproductive regardless of his crimes and incompetence.

We have or had a resident liberal from the San Francisco Bay area who was a programmer. Does he believe this or is he good with this because the ends justify the means and his team is power?

Everything about the Democrats in Washington and their various academic allies and nonprofits is of like Gulliver’s Travels and Alice in Wonderland. It is so bad are we to criticize so carefully that we have to disguise stuff like the author of Gulliver’s travels did?

I believe the longer the left stays in power the closer we will be to that level of censorship.

      Nice.

The IRS isn’t above the law, they are the law apparently. I think we should put the IRS on a non paid leave for the next 365 days til we can get this figured out.

We’re paying BILLIONS in their salaries alone…
A flat tax would put these crooks out of business.

Years ago during the Hugo Chavez regime in Venezuela, after one of his ‘elections’ which he won by something like more votes than there are people in Venezuela, the Supreme Court of the land called for a recount. And wouldn’t you know it, THAT DAY the only warehouse where ALL the ballots were stored for the whole country went up in flames.

I guess that means that if we keep all our tax records on the computer, and it crashes right before an audit, we’re off scot-free. And if the hard drives are missing, it’s time to find out who broke into our homes to steal them.

This is so blatantly arrogant that no one can fail to see what is happening. The IRS, and Obama, think they can break the law with impunity, then laugh at those trying to investigate their crimes.

They should put all involved in jail. The evidence? We don’t need any–just call it “circumstantial”. Time to start re-emphasizing the term justice in this country. We have illegals pouring across the border, people voting illegally, a former head of the IRS who didn’t pay his taxes and a president who has an fake social security number, to name a few.

Once upon a time in America the excuse would have been,”sorry. I inadvertently started my fire place with them. I thought they were junk mail”.

    http://www.howtogeek.com/99423/email-whats-the-difference-in-pop3-imap-and-exchange/

The IRS has never been legally allowed to use POP3 email systems. It’s either some version of IMAP or MS Exchange.

    They are lying. 100% guaranteed.

  • objectivefactsmatter

I mean who would expect that a leftist would first take the 5th (no, that was second after making stupid remarks) and then later reveal that her IMAP client crashed and caused all of the email to vanish.

Who’d guess that a leftist would lie to congress?

  • CowboyUp

The GOP had better seize those hard drives before the democrats make them disappear like they did the clinton hard drives in the 90s. If they do disappear, they’ll get away with their corruption and abuse of power just like they did before.

We are headed into Burning Down the Reichstag territory here, people.
