An educational guide produced by the Chicago chapter of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) demolishes the group’s pretenses that it’s moderate. The book, produced for ICNA members, tells Muslims to wage jihad to conquer the West and establish sharia and repeatedly references the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood as a source.
ICNA’s guide teaches that jihad is the fight against forces that “oppose the Islamic Call” and the waging of war so that only the “evil sovereignty of beings other than Allah is wiped out.” (p. 117)
ICNA’s guide quotes Muslim Brotherhood founder Hasan Al-Banna, who summarized the Islamic movement’s general task of universal outreach as “standing against the flood of civilization.”
ICNA’s training guide says a Muslim must work towards “reinstating the Islamic caliphate system to the leadership anew as required by Shari’ah…” (p.202)
ICNA directs Muslim to “contribute to the revival of the neglected faridas [enjoined duties] of enforcing the Shari’ah [Islamic Law] sent down by Allah.” (p. 202) In addition, Muslims are who are in a “position” to implement sharia law “must do so, while those unable to do so must speak out against the rule of Kufr [infidel] and call for the implementation of Shari’ah. If even this becomes impossible, un-Islamic government must be sincerely hated and despised for the pleasure of Allah and the upholding of Tawheed.” (p.144)
Once again, ICNA is exactly what its critics said it were. Just don’t expect anyone in politics or the press to acknowledge that.
