Kerry to NATO: Obama Strategy Becoming Clearer Day by Day

Forward!

Forward!

Any day now Obama will finally have a strategy. Until then he’s going to bomb things, give speeches and play golf.

Some crazy right wingers whose foreign policy is stuck in the 80s say that you should have a strategy before you begin bombing things, but they’re obsessed with horses, bayonets and navies for some reason.

And they’re not even on Instagram. Who needs a war strategy when you have a social media strategy?

Secretary of State John Kerry, speaking at the NATO summit in Wales on Friday, dismissed critics of President Obama’s lack of strategy to fight Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS): “Contrary to what you sort of heard in the politics of our country, the president is totally committed; there is a strategy that is clear, becoming more clear by the day.”

Kerry also called ISIS “not as organized as everybody thinks.”

Neither are Kerry and Obama.

  • Gee

The are incredibly organized. They have taken control of every single facet of life in the area. They are controlling all government functions, utilities, mosques, hospitals, etc.

    • truebearing

There isn’t all that much to organize when you kill everyone in your path.

  • Libslayer

If you look up the word ‘dumb’ in the dictionary,
There is a picture of John Kerry next to it.
    True fact.

Of course it’s becoming clearer by the day. You start with zero visibility, or worse, a completely false picture of reality. Then Americans start getting beheaded in HD video, and your picture goes completely dead. At that point, you have no vision and no strategy. How can you have a strategy if you can’t see anything? Then you start to see shapes moving around. So you call in all your friends and ask them what they make of it and what they think we should do. Thats where we are today, but it’s better than where we were yesterday, or last week, or two weeks ago, much less two months ago. As John Kerry said, at least NATO is not so “frozen” in the old way of doing things that we can’t come up with a new model for a new reality. It’s kind of exciting in a strange way.

Well TP, it’s about time to hear if you want to revise your analysis of the “born again” POTUS.

You’re still all in with these guys and their alleged brilliance? We let Iran have nukes in exchange for having them “manage” ISIS? And that accomplishes all of the goals that you claimed some time back that they would accomplish?

Then the Saudis will definitely want nukes and we’ll have a self-sustaining peace for the first time that allows the USA to take a clearly hands off approach. Right? Is that the super-secret strategy? Will that satisfy Turkey?

Just give them all nukes. Right?

      • Texas Patriot

I thought Obama, Kerry, and Hagel did well today in Wales, and I was especially impressed with their specific strategic objectives for winning the war against ISIS. Setting out to eliminate the “ideology” driving ISIS is a bigger shift than you might think. And a focus on tracking down everyone in the West who shares that ideology is exactly the approach we need. Otherwise, I didn’t hear anything about allowing Iran to have nukes, and I’m not aware of any change in the policy of preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

“Setting out to eliminate the “ideology” driving ISIS is a bigger shift than you might think. And a focus on tracking down everyone in the West who shares that ideology is exactly the approach we need. ”

The “I hate the West” ideology or the “I hate capitalism” ideology?

“Otherwise, I didn’t hear anything about allowing Iran to have nukes, and I’m not aware of any change in the long-standing policy of preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.”

We’ve heard very little. What do you infer from that?

          • Texas Patriot

There’s no way we’re going to allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons under the present circumstances. We’ll destroy their weapons laboratories and all their centrifuges before we’d ever let that happen. If Iran wants to develop nuclear energy in the environment that exists in the Middle East today, they’re going to have to submit to a rigorous inspections and verifications program that is satisfactory to everyone. As Drakken says, the genie is out of the bottle about the “religion of peace”, and no one is going to be taking the Iranians’ word that their nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.

I get it. You’re doing political website stand-up.

    • truebearing

” It’s kind of exciting in a strange way.”

Yes, ‘a strange way” describes your perspective perfectly. I’m afraid you are still suffering from zero visibility.

Do you actually believe the mindless drivel emanating from Kerry and Obama?

      • Texas Patriot

The only endless drivel I see anywhere is coming from you.

        • truebearing

You thought Obama, Kerry, and Hagel did well? Well at what? Lying? Dissembling? Fumbling around? You really are gullible.

  • objectivefactsmatter

What’s amazing to me is that at this point you’d think they’d pivot to articulating something the strategy by now rather than playing more word games and referring to “the strategy” obliquely. It’s clear but hidden strategy. We can’t talk about it directly. It’s super secret but at the same time “becoming more clear by the day” for those that “need to know.”

You (everyone else) don’t need to know. So back off.

  • edlancey

What sort of bike is that ridiculous fool riding. That’s even more Friends of Dorothy than the one Obama was photographed cycling on a few years back.

  • wileyvet

Ah, but don’t you see how clever Obama is? His apparent lack of strategy IS his strategy. Leading ISIS into a false sense of security, then he will pounce. Sheer genius. Sarc off.

  • truebearing

.The “Obama strategy becoming clearer day after day.” Wow! They put that on the fast track.

So is Obama the author of this strategy, or is he jobbing it out to Susan Rice and Valerie Jarrett? Whitehouse sources have hinted that a carpet hashtagging of ISIS is “on the table.”

It is now confirmed that Obama has hired a golf course designer to overlay fairways and water hazards on the map of the desert that is Iraq. Obama didn’t feel comfortable creating a strategy on unfamiliar terrain. This will be invaluable in determining when US armed forces should loft a nine iron or putt. Driving is out of the question as it raises issues of sexism and other cultural stuff. It’s also too aggressive and could be misinterpreted as trying to win or somehow colonialist.

Some have pointed out that Obama doesn’t need to develop a strategy, since the Pentagon is continually developing contingency strategies…but they forgot that Obama has purged all of those higher ranking officers who provided that essential expertise. We’re down to Jen Psaki or that Harf’nbarf chick.

The strategy is coming…day after day after day after day…

  • Pete

Obama’s strategy is to defend the capital at all costs!

… because he had not given military matters serious thought until the situation became dire.

  • Hard Little Machine

The strategy is to do nothing for about 2 weeks until the news decides no one wants to hear about it. Chris Balloonhead Matthews has even resurrected ‘Bridgegate’ to distract angry white stoners.

  • Erudite Mavin

“Obama’s strategy clearer and clearer each day”
Exactly, clearly insane, and clearly an agenda for the collapse of America and what is left of the free world.

Yes, I have noticed. She is a typical product of political action, which is basically the same thing as affirmative action. The Left makes sure she gets great grades at prestigious schools because she is female and not white. Then she gets promoted at such a meteoric rate that she breaks the Peter Principle sound barrier.

We need a new electorate. If Susan Rice was only serving coffee to the president it would be disturbing, much less advising him on national security.
