KFC Bans Hand Wipes Because They Offend Muslims

kfc1

This story takes place in the UK, but at the rate we’re going it won’t be long before it happens in the US. (via Religion of Peace)

A customer was refused a wet wipe in a halal-only branch of KFC because they are soaked in alcohol and might offend Muslim diners.

Graham Noakes, 41, said he was astonished when staff at the fast food chain’s outlet in St George’s retail park refused to give him a hand-wipe because it was against its Halal policy.

Staff said this was because the wipes are soaked in an alcohol-infused liquid. Alcohol is forbidden in the Muslim Holy book, the Quran.

Graham said: “They told me it might offend other customers.

The 41-year-old added: ‘I’ve never experienced anything like this before, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

‘Why shouldn’t I be allowed a wipe for my hands? They use wipes in hospital, what happens when we start being told we can’t have wipes there? I just can’t understand it.’

A KFC spokesman said the company had been running a halal trial since 2010, in “areas where there has been demand from our customers”, such as the restaurant in St George’s Retail Park.

In fact Muslim staff in hospitals have already compromised hygiene in the UK. But as the Halal Express marches on, maybe soap and water will be banned too.

KFC might want to begin stocking up on stones.

“Aisha reported that the Prophet said, “When one of you goes to relieve himself, he should clean himself with three stones.”

  • Hard Little Machine

Ethanol and Methanol are not the same thing. If you eat a wet wipe you will poison yourself just like drinking hand sanitizer. Are Muslims no longer cleaning the site of a needle injection either? I swear sometimes the window lickers are in charge.

    • De Doc

Sanitizing hand wipes do not use methanol, because of its potential toxicity, so ethanol or isopropyl alcohol are the common agents found in these products. Ethanol is used most commonly simply because it is extremely cheap to produce and has better disinfectant properties compared to other alcohols. Many hand wipes do not use alcohol at concentrations to act as a disinfectant, but as a carrier for other antibacterial agents in the product.

Leave it to the crazy Muslims to ban something good for them, all because of an extreme and absurd interpretation of a religious proscription.

      • tagalog

        Stop confusing them with logic.

        • Dean Harris

muslimes are to inbred to even understand logic.

      • Bamaguje

I thought it was just drinking of alcohol that is prohibited in Islam.

        • FrankS2

          It is.

        • Dean Harris

I think bathing is prohibited by muslimes. At least you might be able to smell them coming.

      • carpe diem 36

i wonder what they use to clean their babies’ bottoms after taking off a soiled diaper. Do they use stones?

        • Nottaturk

          diapers?

    • Patriot077

I read several months ago that hospitals in UK do not require Muslims to practice official scrubbing protocol as they would need to bare their arms!
It’s extraordinary that the appeasers will even forego established science and endanger patients.
I believe they also have banned religious jewelry, such as a cross necklace, so as not to inflame those who can not be named.

      • Pete

Good to know. But at some point this statement, assertion, will be challenged.

It would be good to have a link to an news article. It is early in the say so I will be looking for such an article. There are people well meaning you will challenge such statements. there are others not so well meaning you will challenges such statements in an attempt to get the forum to devolve into a flame war in order to destroy it or get their yayays off.

        • Patriot077

Good advice. Knowing the likelihood of this happening, I should have refreshed my own memory before posting.

        • CTobias

To distill your statement (pun intended) into Netspeak: Sauce or it never happened. Sauce x3 is solid, and try REALLY hard not to quote from the same forum in which you’re posting. IE – sourcing back to frontpagemag whilst trying to prove your point ON frontpagemag is redundant and flawed sourcing.

          • Pete

Patriot077 did link back to this site.

However, the the article link was by Dr. John Kenneth Press and not by Mr Greenfield. It seems as though Dr Press’s article was a guest piece.

Linking back to the same forum may be a faux paux but it is not inherently illogical. It depends I think on the integrity of the forum. That said a person has to be careful that it does get incestuous (echo chamber).

I did initially find that Sodahead, Liveleak and the EU Times all linked back to Mr Press’s article in FrontPage. I had Linked the EU Times article and that bugged me. So Patriot077 and I were linking the same article. #$@&! i felt foolish. So I went looking again and found a Daily Mail article
            and a Telegraph article.

      • WhiteHunter

I think I remember reading that, too–about their refusal to follow proper scrub and sterile protocol. Can’t recall exactly where, but I definitely did see it. Thanks for reminding us.

Of course, by now there will have been enough time elapsed for it to have been suppressed. Wouldn’t want to seem ‘islamophobic,’ after all, even if ignoring moslems’ filthy habits costs patients’ lives. That’s ‘the price we have to pay for diversity,’ you know.

        • Patriot077

          Forewarned is forearmed.
It’s one of the reasons I began wearing a cross. Because here in America we can. And I will.

      • Dean Harris

muslimes are good for nothing. All evil, no good what so ever.

  • Gee

I notice that they are never worried about offending non-Muslims. If I can’t clean my hands I will be offended (because that is against my religion) and will boycott any business that is halal.

    • Dyann Jackson

Many of us already do ;-)

    • WhiteHunter

Can’t help wondering if KFC allows moslems to wash their filthy feet in the lavatory sinks five times a day (eeewww!). Can’t think of many things more sickeningly offensive than that.

    • Dean Harris

I once saw halal meat come into a wal mart.

      • Paul Jenson

I’ve got a picture of halal meat at a wal mart. Now If I could just figure out how to post the picture, I would.

  • Larry Larkin

Islam offends me, can I get it banned?

    • glpage

      We can hope.

      • carpe diem 36

or we can avoid those filthy places.

    • tagalog

You’re forgetting; in Islam, whatever is not banned is compulsory.

  • De Doc

A moronic position for KFC, as Islam bans ingestion of alcohol for purposes of intoxication. But, like many überpious of any religion, Islamists take their religious law to the absurd by arguing that any contact with alcohol, including that used for simple hand sanitation, is forbidden. Though, I presime if ethanol was required for explosives production there would be a fatwa quickly issued to ensure its halal nature for that purpose.

    • Pete

It is not like it is cough medicine, which could be abused. In the past there have been cases (or purported to be) of people buying cough medicine to drink it so as to skirt buying alcoholic beverages.

They were trying to fool others or were fooling themselves.

You just cannot drink or get high/drunk off a hand wipe.

      • De Doc

        RE: your last sentence

i bet Kitty Dukakis would have made a go of it.

        • Pete

I know someone would try, but it would be like 1 out of 100,000 to 1 in million that would succeed.

-You would have to collect them like meth cooks collect cold medicine.
          - Then you would have to squeeze them into a glass or container before it all evaporated.
          - Then you would have to gag it down.

To think Dukakis and Kerry almost became president and VP. Very scary.

  • Coastliner

This is not the whole story. A spokesman for KFC said that such a policy had never been sanctioned by the company – it was an individual who had taken this upon him / herself and assured all customers that such a thing would not happen again. A number of Muslim ‘community leaders’ and groups in the UK have come out and stated openly to the media that this action had nothing to do with any demands made by Muslims and that such incidents are misguided and make already strained community relationships more difficult. The UK is plagued by politically correct leftards who take it upon themselves to do such ridiculous things because of fear of ‘offending’ minorities. Currently, the majority population has had it’s eyes opened in relation to Islam by recent events – ISIS, the Rotherham child abuse scandal, beheadings and atrocities etc… and the Muslim minority is frantically backpedalling because they are absolutely terrified of a major backlash against them. If they were not in the negative spotlight as they are at the moment they would continue to be pushing for their ludicrous demands to be met – their condemnation of the actions at KFC should be taken with a pinch of salt – they are only trying to buy themselves some grace with the native population.

  • Pete

Unless we find a internal memo or a company employee surreptitiously leaks it, people on the Left or in the ‘middle’ are going to buy the corporate PR spin.

“A spokesman for KFC has since said that the incident was a misunderstanding and that alcohol-based wet wipes are not banned by the company. “

    • Patriot077

KFC’s first mistake was labeling themselves “halal”. They can’t PR that.

      • tagalog

A clear demonstration of a somewhat fuzzy capitalist philosophical point, namely, capitalism naturally (in the name of the profit motive) is more tolerant than other economic systems, but eventually there comes a time when tolerance of lunatic belief systems is simply suicidal. KFC seems to have discovered one of those breaking points. Capitalism does not do well in rigid belief systems that will not tolerate variance.

        • Patriot077

Personally, I’ve had it with any business that lets their business model be determined by caving to a special interest. They can do whatever they want and I can quit giving them my hard earned money.

  • Pete

“KFC might want to begin stocking up on stones.”

KFC and many other businesses might want to figure out how to file bankruptcy or sell their assets and get out of business.

Earlier this year my family cut cable. We go with over the air now. There are reception problems, which is irritating. but is does cause us a problem and get us out of our rut (government should not be doing something like this. Because we can turn this problem on & off and make it a learning experience and not an overwhelming one. there are a lot of other problems so we do not need government to be nudging and artificially creating new ones).

Quickly I learned there are many nascent networks like thisnetwork & Bounce that have been started to to going digital. I also learned that there are more & a greater variety of movies than I could watch on cable. due to economics or something else content providers and cable went to a “JACK YOUbusiness model over the last 5 or 10 years fewer and fewer movies were shown on channels that were not pay per view. So a Basic package for cable was 80 bucks and was no better than free over the air. Spike use to be a good movie channel. Now it seems to run the 1st 3 start Wars movie in a continuous loop. History channel & TLC went to crap too.

Then there was the problem of bundling and how they decided which channels to include. I do not want to pay for PressTV, Current TV and many others while excluding other like GlennBeck. I don’t like Beck right now, but he said a lot of good things while on FOX. Ho do you include Current while excluding GBTV?

So if KFC wants to go halal, I can go the extra effort like with entertainment bills(cable) and increase my cooking skills and buy a fryer or whatever.

Businesses need to grow a spine or they will go bankrupt. EFF’EM!

    • Daniel_Greenfield

The end of cable bundling is coming. Probably within 5 years. Sooner if the Comcast-Time Warner merger falls apart because enough people stand up to it.

      • Pete

You learn stuff if you are a ham radio enthusiast or just in science class or in the military about radio waves bouncing of atmospheric layers and about atmospheric turbulence. I know this stuff, but a person tends to forget and get complacent. So atmospheric disturbances while irritating are taken in stride.

Believe it or not Comcast service was interrupted by rain. It is all buried cable but somehow, someway the rain soaked into the equipment during heavy downpours. So we moved to satellite and that was also affected by thunderstorms of course.

After cutting cable we put money to another service that made life easier and nicer and still pocketed money.

Plus Comcast gives money to bad causes. Cutting cable was 3-fer. EFF’EM!

        • Daniel_Greenfield

Comcast relies on outdated equipment. Instead of upgrading, it just buys up more companies to become a bigger monopoly while cultivating close ties to the Obama Regime. It’s the AOL strategy, but hardware gives a monopoly more staying power than software.

          • Pete

It almost seems as though it is the ENRON of entertainment.

The only element missing is the bookkeeping fraud.

The growth method is the same.

      • Pete

Comcast &Time Warner are like dinosaurs. They are huge, powerful and terrifying. They are to be respected in that they are dangerous.

You think nothing can stand up to them. Once things start going poorly for them their innate size works against them and they crumble very fast. It works that way in judo or like when a whale beaches itself. the size and weight of a whale suffocates it.

Cashflow problems can really hit a large corporation harder & faster than people might think.

      • Dyann Jackson

        Thanks Daniel <3

    • Patriot077

Direct TV won’t sign Glenn Beck either, but they have Al Jazeera in their lineup. Really perverted opinions at the helm there.
I cancelled my DTV 2 years ago when all the networks (NBC, ABC & CNN) lied about the evidence in the Zimmerman case. Their manufactured broadcasts ruined a man’s life and I decided I did not want one more penny of mine to go into their pockets.
There are plenty of other entertainment options and I haven’t regretted my decision one bit.

  • http://blog.jonolan.net jonolan

One small point – this was at what is essentially a Muslims-Only KFC. Why should Man care what harm the Muslims inflict upon themselves?

    • Dyann Jackson

Because they don’t advertise “Muslim Only”.

      • http://blog.jonolan.net jonolan

They do, sort of. They advertise Halal-Only and are in a Muslim ‘hood.

    • Jenna

Really, is there a sign on the door that says Muslim only? Maybe we should also have Christian only or atheist only KFCs as well. When I go to an Asian restaurant they have chopsticks as well as forks because some people can’t eat with chopsticks. Is that offensive too? Maybe we should ban forks.

      • http://blog.jonolan.net jonolan

I’d say that “Halal Only” combined with being in a Muslim ‘hood should have been enough warning for people with normative sensitivities and values to stay away from it.

  • Biff Henderson

The stealthy Crusader is caught redhanded trying to justify their osmotic onslaught on the purity of Muslims.

  • http://teapartyreaganconservative.blogspot.com/ TeaPartyReaganConservative

Liberals and Islamists are both hypocrites of the same ideological loony cloth, which is why Liberals are allied with Islamists.

Having worked and lived in the Middle East-specifically Kuwait after 911, 2001 as a civilian contractor for the US govt, as a US Military retiree, I can tell you from living within the community of Muslims, they love alcoholic drinks more than the western countries, and every well to do Muslim has a fully stocked alcoholic bar in their home, obviously hidden from view of the Islamist PC police.. but everyone knows everyone has it. They-Muslims prefer Johnny Walker Black, along with any and all other Whiskey Bourbon makers from America, where they throw parties every weekend. So they’re so called rejection of alcohol is pure BS. That’s just a religious front ruse to push their influence and presence onto their targeted infiltrated countries they invade like parasites. Plus countries like Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, etc, allow alcohol sale and consumption.

Of course, the UK is too far gone at this point. The UK is now for all intents and purposes, a Socialist Islamist Police State within a supposed Western Democracy country, Royalty included.

  • tagalog

Watch out for those Muslim left hands!

  • herb benty

And KFC goes along with this idiocy. If Episcopalians or Baptists didn’t like the alcohol, does anyone think that KFC wouldn’t give a wipe to another person. And alcohol is perfectly natural, banning salt next?

  • Dyann Jackson

The issue here is the Alcohol in the wipes. Banned by islam. Not halal.

Halal is not the definition of slaughter. It only means “allowed”. The practice of slaughter under islamic standards (law) is called. zabihah:

For a meat to be certified “halal,” it cannot be a forbidden cut (such as meat from hindquarters) or animal (such as pork.)

allah’s name must be pronounced during slaughter.

    (Food offered to idols?)

The instrument must be very sharp to ensure humane slaughter. The animal must be slit at the throat.

The animal must not be unconscious

The animal must be hung upside down and allowed to bleed dry.

    Eating blood is not halal.

These steps must be accomplished by a muslim or the People of the Book (Christian or Jew.) Many observant muslims find kosher meat acceptable

The animal must have been fed a natural diet that did not contain animal by-products.

  • http://www.stubbornthings.org NAHALKIDES

The most interesting thing about this story is that involved a private business rather than the usual jellyfish politicians capitulating to Islam. The significance of this is that private businesses have no spines either but they do respond to the will of their “electorate” (i.e. customers), which means Muslims are now an economically-significant demographic in the U.K. – even if much of their disposable income is being extorted from taxpayers in the form of welfare payments.

Lesson: keep the Muslim population as low as possible.

  • WhiteHunter

Well then, doctors should refuse to wipe the site of a hypodermic injection with alcohol before sticking the needle into a moslem, or to use alcohol to sterilize any sharp-edged instruments (including a barber’s razor to shave them before surgery).

Let them become infected, fester, and die–as they want us to do from the deadly virus of islam.

  • FrankS2

More to this story – Muslims are also offended by this ban being made in their name – since Islam’s prohibition on alcohol is only on drinking it.

  • carpe diem 36

you got that right!!! do not even think of going to that KFC if you want to stay healthy. Let the moslems die.

  • Nottaturk

Halal procedure includes using bare left hand to clean up after evacuation. Not paper, nor wipes… Since the right hand is holy, guess which hand they use to turn on the faucet.

  • Leo60

I am offended that Muslims are in America.

  • bubba

so much for the colonel, now that he is a muslamic there are other chicken places. Barbecue places are popping up all over. between liberal progressives and muslamic apologists try voting Nov 4th and stop and get a good pulled pork sandwich with a cold beer.

  • Shari Peterson

I can’t wait to hear your posts about burying dishes like both Jews AND Muslims are to do. Oh that’s right, only bash the Musilms. ;)

  • Shari Peterson

Did Front Page Mag post on the story a few years ago about the Orthodox Jews who filed a lawsuit to get the safety lights in their apartment complex removed because it violated Sabbath religious mandates of no electricity on Friday’s after dark?

  • Dean Harris

In what ever country the muslimes move to, they should adopt the cultures and the laws of those places. Not force their garbage on us. But then again, since they are so corrupt and evil, they need to be eradicated from the face of the Earth. There is no hope for them. MooHamHead was an inbred scumbag.
