Less Than 25% of West Point Cadets Gave Obama a Standing Ovation

Expect the mainstream US media to report this sometime between doomsday and 5 o’clock.

Obama was welcomed by the Black Knight of the Hudson for his speech at West Point on Wednesday, but less than 25 percent of the cadets gave him a standing ovation upon his introduction, the Daily Mail reported.

“Receiving tepid applause and a short standing ovation from less than one-quarter of the audience upon his introduction, Obama argued for a contradictory foreign policy that relies on NATO and the United Nations while insisting that ‘America must always lead on the world stage,’ the paper reported.

He drew cheers from graduating cadets – far more robust applause than his speech itself – by announcing a symbolic pardon for those who were ‘on restriction due to minor conduct offenses’ as students.

As they graduate, cadets are released from those punishments automatically.

The president’s biggest applause line was not for a policy position, but in praise of a former West Point cadet who was wounded in Afghanistan.

But expect the media to run footage of those applause lines and combine them with Obama’s less popular foreign policy talking points.

West Point is doing a good job – but they need to work on that other 25%.

  • DogmaelJones1

West Point is gone. It’s PC. It was one of the first military institutions the egalitarians wanted to sabotage, and went to work on it while Obama was “organizing communities” in Chicago. The Air Force Academy succumbed first, then the Naval Academy.

  • Steeloak

I’m surprised that even 25% stood, it had to have been out of their respect for the office, not the man.

    • Jakareh

The 25 percent were the beneficiaries of affirmative action.

      • LHathaway

haha that sounds similar to something i would say. when I say it, I like to think it’s usually in a more effective way.

        • Jakareh

How might you say it more effectively?

          • LHathaway

well, the fact that they applauded the man. . you can’t blame someone applauding the man if they happen to like him. . plus you also ‘hate’ affirmative action beneficiaries’ with no context whatsoever.

however. . when these demographic polls do come up in the news. . saying, ‘25% of the people in the UK support more immigration’ I love to ask something like hmm, what percentage of the population is foreign born’, or people of color? Not that they all voted along race or immigrant status line. and the more important idea I’m getting out is that the ‘majority’ are more against immigration than we are being led to believe. It’s more Ok to hate someone because of what they believe, than because of what they are. Jabbing those who are in favor of immigration (even though it is not the main jist – you are doing it) is not necessarily racist at all. Even if you are not being racist. . some assumptions are just plain ignorant they make you look ignorant. Not saying yours did. . .

My favorite is that ‘The USA is finished as a first world nation now’.that X has occured. IF i was you, I’m be MORE afraid of people of color replacing me and making the country even better, than I would of seeing it decline. The assertion is not proven, it’s ignorant and a huge assumption stated as holy fact, which is annoying. maybe it’s worse because your racism is underhanded and in an implied sort of way.

Then again the audience for this is dissaffected white guys who have no job or no girlfriend or an ugly job or ugly girlfriend, because of so much ‘competition’ with immigration. They are truly psychically crushed by it. The would give anything to believe the country will be worse after their decline, and eventual displacement.

This means we will have to continue to receive reports on america and the west’s decline in order to mulify thier feelings. Hell, they may even ruin the economy to make white guys feel better. But, they can likely fake it by eroneious news reports.

That’s what’s left, keeping your from being violent. Stage one, giving you a reason to be violent (while hiding it from you and denying it as much and as long as possible) is, hopefully near the end. Next stage is continuing to try to keep you from being violent. In the end, white women will vote for racial separation, what every white man in this nation wants, in his heart of hearts, more than nearly anything else in this world. So, the incredibly long term looks good for what I assume to be you.

Anyway, there has to be a way to balance the desire to appeal to others, and to try and sound logical, with giving you a message that makes you feel better. Again, as simple as it would be, destroying the economy or at least continuing to report on our, relative ‘decline’ to make ‘you’ feel better.

It can be done I guess but for the most part it’s about making you feel better. I dream about gaining converts, and presenting my ‘hate’ in a way that makes a kind of logical sense at least.

The greatest orator in the history of the known and unkown universe could only muster 25% from a captive audience? Maybe Obama should have used the “My fellow Americans, I am a liar” speech Daniel wrote for him.

    • LHathaway

They were saving their applause until he said something applaus worthy, which, apparently he did.

  • Texas Patriot

Perhaps Obama should have told them that in the age of highly sophisticated global surveillance and interdiction technologies capable of pinpointing and destroying any potential threat on earth on a moment’s notice, we do need a state of the art Air Force, Navy, and Special Ops Sea, Air, and Land force of Marines that be deployed and fully operational anywhere in the world on 24 hours notice, but that we no longer need, and indeed can no longer afford, plodding, cumbersome, slow-moving, and hugely expensive land armies with tanks and armored vehicles that can blown up by teenagers with homemade IEDs and cell phones. The fact that Obama got a 25% standing ovation probably means that he didn’t tell them the truth. If Obama had told them traditional land armies have already gone the way of the dinosaur and have now relegated to the La Brea Tar Pits of military history, he probably wouldn’t have gotten a single clap.

    • Drakken

And you know this because of your extensive military experience right? Rather amusing to say the least that someone with zero military knowledge and truly believes that Comrade Obummer will do something with Iran, when actions by Obummer and company flies in the face of your wishful thinking, really says it all. And you voted for Obummer, the irony!

      • Texas Patriot

Sorry, Drak. If you have your heart set on seeing horses and mules dragging heavy cannon through muddy battlefields in enemy territory, you’re probably going to be very surprised and disappointed with the wars of the future.

Whether you like it or not, warfare changed forever on August 6, 1945, and the modern battlefield will be quite different than anything we’ve seen in the past. Winning any war of consequence in the future will require a combination of superior information, superior firepower, superior delivery systems, and superior reaction times on a global basis, and our enemies know this even if you don’t. If you want to believe that I voted for Obama, that’s fine with me. But it’s not true, and it won’t be true no matter how much Bourbon you drink.

The truth is that I’ve been reading about military strategy, military tactics, military technology, and military history for as long as I can remember, and I’m an avid student of the military theories of both Sun Tzu and Jesus Christ. The difference between you and me is that I’m always looking for ways to defeat an enemy without having to torture or kill them, and that’s always much better in the long run.

      • coco0331

I didn’t know texas had any real patriots?

        • SoCalMike

You know nothing, dork. In place of knowledge all you have is attitude and a religious faith in more government.

        • Texas Patriot

We’ve had our share, U.S. Senator Sam Houston, U.S. Congressman David “Davy” Crocket, and U.S. Admiral Chester Nimitz just to name a few. But we’ll need more and even greater patriots if we hope to meet the challenges of the future.

  • De Doc

Maybe they’ll insert an applause track for this one.

  • Ellsworth Toohey

Anyone describing iSSlam as a religion of peace and love is insulting the prophet Muramard and its followers who conquered by the sword most of the Mediterranean world. barack hussein is not a good muslim !

  • Jakareh

As one of the Bounty mutineers said, “The people are ready for anything.”

  • Ide-Clair

The low applause didn’t necessarily reflect disapproval of Obama’s speech. Cadets are instructed NOT to applaud. The few that did broke protocol.

    • Chavi Beck

That’s the kind of info that doesn’t get reported when, well, you know. Thanks for posting it. (Have not personally verified it.)

  • SuzyQue

25% gave him a standing ovation? That’s disturbing.

    • LHathaway

It would be disturbing if the president of the United Stated couldn’t give a speech in which he could get 23 year old’s to applaud. A speech could mean 20 minutes to talk about anything, perhaps jokes about his time in college. We’ll never know what % gave him a standing ovation at some point during his speech, at least by reading this article. I would hope he got nearly all of them to applaud, at the same time, sometime during his speech. Although I will become vague myself, now and not delve into standing ovations. . hey, I don’t deliver the news, I just talk about it.

  • coco0331

Just goes to show the caliber of our future military leaders and the quality of leadership thats training them. They don’t seem to comprehend the idea of a commander and chief therefore they must be divided.
I could wonder what the applause would be for each separate party in the congress or capitol hill all together. Considering the truth about our condition and how we got here is nothing but delirious spin.

    • coco0331

If I’ve learned anything from this congress its that greed and corruption mixed with power is just as rampant in the U.S. government as it is in any government in the world and its to easy to blame the president and his party for policies that are nothing but dirty acts of sabotage that were purposely set to create distruction and chaos in the American government.
Farm subsidies are a good example of capitol hill, they stink!

  • coco0331

I lost faith in W.Point when I heard W was a graduate. Burnt, Fried and AWol! And so was the country for years to come after he and his parties leadership.
The republican leadership tried to sabotage the Clinton presidency almost the same way by dumping the president elect into Sarajevo and Kosovo not to mention Yugoslavia and Serbia. Clinton was a little too smart for their dirty trick and pumped in the U,N. on the matters.
Unfortunately for President Obama the special interest republicans learnd from their mistakes and offshored half the corporate business in America, set the stage for mass debt, poverty and unemployment then skipped out the back pointing the finger at Obama before he was even in office.
Republicans over the last 30 years have bet on the stupidity of America and organized spin to destroy the U.S. government and its infrastructure for special interest personal gain and greed. Thanks to them its all over but the cryin!

    • SoCalMike

      What mindless dogma.

      • LHathaway

it sounded, good, thought. I gave it an upvote just for that. I’m part of the crowd ‘destroying the country’. On this little vote, anyway.

    • theAcefromSpace

Where did you get the idea that W graduated from West Point?

    • glpage

Another case of a leftist attempt to define reality to fit their ideology.

  • Webb Cook

I guess that answers the question about how many members of the military would fire on us citizens if Obama ordered it. Not too many. Those who stood have been noted, and will be assigned to remote hellholes.
