Marvel Creates Muslim Superheroine, Muslims Complain She Doesn’t Wear Burka

obama comics

I suspect the only kind of Muslim female superhero that would appeal to these people would wear a Burka and spend all day at home encouraging her husband to beat her up.

Some Pakistanis are embracing a new Marvel comic-book superhero modeled on a Pakistani Muslim teenage girl living in the United States as a chance to burnish Pakistan’s image in the West, while others express reservations.

By “reservations”, UPI means they suspect it’s a conspiracy to make Muslims look bad. The conspiracy would be redundant, because Pakistan does that on its own every day.

There’s no point in trying to appease compulsively paranoid people whose entire identity is wedded to a sense of hostility toward the outside world.

The latest incarnation of “Ms. Marvel” — there were two earlier versions — is to hit store shelves Feb. 5. Marvel Entertainment, the creator of Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man and other fictional superheroes, announced in November it was introducing Ms. Marvel, whose secret identity is “Kamala Khan,” a 16-year-old daughter of Pakistani immigrants living in Jersey City, N.J., and dealing with life between two cultures.

“It is unrealistic for a girl to be a superhero,” housewife Sanam Iqbal told UPI Next. “The dress Kamala Khan will be wearing doesn’t represent our Muslim culture either.

“I can’t expect that Kamala Khan is going to build our country’s image. I am sure there will be a conspiracy behind this idea, either to disrespect our family values or to damage our religion.”

Hina Gulraiz, a Lahore dentist with in-laws in the United States, said Kamala Khan would create problems in Muslim families trying to follow their normal ways.

“I visit the U.S. often and I am sure that if Kamala Khan’s character hurts our values in any case it will not be accepted. We don’t want our girls so open to the world, because it is against our religion and values,” Gulraiz told UPI Next.

They don’t want their faces or mouths open either. It would be quite educational for everyone is Marvel complied and made a “realistic” Pakistani Muslim character, but instead they’ll keep on plying the same politically correct “Little Mosque on the Prairie” hoaxes.

Idiots trying to appease paranoid idiots.
    Never a good idea.

    • A Z

They are going to liken this effort to what they did in the 1960s. They believe they are the same thing, a direct analogy.

    • John Mac

Have you a better idea ? Speak up please and thank you.

What does she fight FOR? The imposition of Sharia law? The stoning to death of adulterers? The murder of those who criticise her death cult or prophet? The execution of witches, sorcerers and anyone from the LGBT community? The enslavement and dhimmitude of those not-muslime. I don’t think I’ll be watching Marvel based movies ever again, obviously they don’t need my dime, let the islam0nazis support them.

    • Softly Bob

She fights for a Liberal utopia of metrosexual tolerance in a land of rainbows and unicorns, where Muslims are no longer oppressed by Western imperialist powers, and are therefore allowed to practise their religion properly in the way the Q’uran really teaches. Because the Q’uran really teaches love and tolerance and in no way does it teaches violence and hatred.
Only those who misunderstand the Q’uran act in a violent way – because, let’s face it only the Bible teaches hatred. The Q’uran is the most beautiful book ever written.
If Muslims weren’t oppressed they would have no problem embracing homosexuality, lesbianity and women’s rights.

So, to summarize; the beautiful, misunderstood Muslima superhero fights for the establishment of a Liberal utopia where gays, lesbians and transgenders live together in perfect harmony, new-born babies are routinely murdered (in a loving way, of course), pigs fly, and nobody is ever poor or oppressed ever again!
Aah, deep breaths… altogether now, let’s all go and cuddle a mullah!

      • A Z

I do not want to read your post high. I’d be too afraid of dying from laughter.

  • Mullah Lodabullah

They could have put her in a burka – and been accused of reinforcing stereotypes.

      catch 22

Total submission to sharia is the only way.

““It is unrealistic for a girl to be a superhero,” housewife Sanam Iqbal told UPI Next. “The dress Kamala Khan will be wearing doesn’t represent our Muslim culture either.”

Huh. Because historically superheros are male. At least all of the “realistic” ones are.

    OK then…

    • defcon 4

No, you have it all wrong. It’s because, as allah has revealed, women are deficient in intelligence.

  • worldwatchman

Pathetic. Marvel comics is an American disgrace. Let them know it!

  • A Z

Marvel’s attempt at a Muslima Superhero may be honest, but it is not culturally sensitive Her costume is showing cleavage and upper thigh/buttocks is over the top.

If I were to buy comics at this point I would not expect a burka but I don’t expect this particular dress either. It is ludicrous, inflammatory and preachy.

I would not buy a comic with a superhero dressed in a burka day in and day out., It would not be believable nor interesting. This superheroine seems like liberal cross dressing. It like we’ve done the Viking theme, the Egyptian theme, the Japanese theme. Lets do the Muslim theme. but it is always dressing up liberal/progressive values.

    • A Z

      Kamala Khan != BombQueen

Still the written criticism in the article is legitimate to a T.

    • Daniel Greenfield

It’s not the actual comic. I use illustrations for comedic effect.

Marvel is not going to call a Muslim heroine Bomb Queen and have her attack Obama.

      • A Z

It is what I get for not investigating the links.

But the picture of the superheroine at Weasel zippers is still enough to send half the Islamic world into hysterics. Which would be ironic.

      • Paul Rowden

I myself was wondering who else she would be, since Bomb Queen would fit sooo well.

  • koalpet

The best thing we could do is castigate and ridicule these paranoid lunatics at every opportunity. Their culture and religion are totally incompatible with Western values and the very idea of a female (or male) Muslim ‘super-hero’ is ludicrous, unless suicide bombers qualify as super-heroes. Put her in a burka with a suicide vest pushing a double baby stroller through a croweded American mall and muslims will love her. I loathe Islam as much as I loathe our traitorous, Marxist president. Why do we encourage our avowed enemies to invade our country?

  • malachha avet

I wonder, is that girl still a Virgin,
NAHHH that’s impossible, she must have screwed everyone on Marvel to get her puss on the cover

  • Hard Little Machine

    What’s her superpower? She explodes?

  • Chance Boudreaux

    Make mine NOT dhimmitude Marvel.

    I NEVER liked marvel comics.

    I like DC.

  • Joetheporpoise

    Can’t wait.
    1. Muslims will themselves say that she’s a terrible role model b/c Marvel is liberal (hence the dhimmitude) so she’ll have to associate with gays and with people doing liberal things (like guys and gals going to the movies together even though, gasp, horrors, they’re not married). So she’s either going to be in this little cultural box (and even then, if she’s living at the Xavier mansion or whatever, Muslims will complain that she’s ‘loose’) where she can’t do anything OR Muslims will bitch and gripe.
    2. Sooner or later, Marvel is going to have to face the fact that they have other gods in their story lines. Thor, not an ‘alien’ but a god and the fans are going to remind Marvel.
    3. Sooner or later, someone is going to have a story where they all go back in time and meet Mohammed. That should be fun.
    4. Every new Islamic atrocity should have a picture with a caricature (the standard caricature Marvel already uses) of Stan Lee and it should have the words “I’m Stan Lee and I approve of this” right next to some poor Muslimah’s freshly stoned corpse or next to the victim of the latest Muslim bombing or whatever. Should be a never ending meme.
    5. Watch Marvel movies? Fuck that. At least I won’t ever be watching them in a theater again. Internet people. Internet.

  • Joetheporpoise

Sorry, WHY is it important that there are other gods in the Marvel universe? Simple, if you’re a Muslim, you believe in exactly ONE god. But in the Marvel universe there are LOTS of gods and they’re called ‘gods’ in the stories. Zeus, Odin, etc. So either this girl is going to be sheltered by the writers (NO stories with Thor for example) OR Marvel is going to do a total retcon (which should be interesting b/c of fan reaction and claims of favoritism).
