The Only Justice for Michael Brown is Burning and Looting Stores

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. He is completing a book on the international challenges America faces in the 21st century.

I’ve seen some conservative blogs questioning why the police are so heavily armed during the Ferguson protests. Here’s a picture that speaks louder than a thousand word essay.

This is why you end up with police who are more heavily armed than soldiers in Iraq. Because there are parts of the country that are like Iraq.

I blame the police. It couldn’t have been the grief stricken mob at the looting/vigil that did this.

Police Shooting Missouri

Nothing can assuage the cries for justice except stealing some stuff from a QuikTrip because… justice.

A Post-Dispatch photographer on the scene moments earlier saw broken glass and people rushing into the store, with someone yelling, “Everything’s free at the QuikTrip!”

Some people were seen making off with lottery tickets and breaking into the cash drawer at the QuikTrip.

A Post-Dispatch reporter in that area was slugged from behind and helped away by police officers. He was not seriously hurt.

Let’s remember that we should be outraged at the police and not the oppressed mob beating up reporters, torching stores and stealing stuff. It’s the people protecting you from the likes of these mobs that are the real villains.

CNN’s Don Lemon is really understanding of this sort of thing.

LEMON: Can I say one more thing before we go? When we’re talking about the rioting, yeah, it’s terrible about the rioting. I agree with LZ, I hate when people riot and loot and it happened in Katrina. But when people are put in dire situations, you don’t know how they are going to react. I’m not saying it’s right, I personally urge people to be peaceful and calm. I’m not saying I agree with him, but I understand.

The people robbing stores are not in a dire situation. It’s the store owners who are in a dire situation. It’s the people who are afraid of being murdered by a politically sanctioned mob, caught between street brutality and Eric Holder and CNN who are in a dire situation.

But there are solutions

Gun sales have spiked at several metro area gun stores in the wake of rioting and looting in Ferguson and disturbances at a few stores in other locations.

Mid America Arms in South County reported that firearm sales were up by about 50 percent on Tuesday.

Customers are loading up on semi-automatic handguns and shotguns, said Al Rothweiler, one of the owners.

More women than usual were shopping for guns on Tuesday, the first day the store was open this week, he said.

Holder is wrong. America is not a nation of cowards.

Get with the program, Greenfield. These people aren’t looters and thugs and sundry lowlife. Oh no! They’re social justice warriors redressing millennia of oppression by the Blue-Eyed Ice Devils. At least, that’s what they’ve been taught in the public schools, by the popular culture and by the media. And at some point they won’t need an excuse to riot, and they won’t confine their activities to their own ‘hoods either.

    • Drakken

Won’t they be in for the rudest of awaking’s if they try a riot in a European/American neighborhood. Let it rain.

      • UCSPanther

They also wouldn’t want to mess with real rural dwellers (aka hillbillies) if they know what’s good for them.

Shotguns, hunting rifles and heavy tools can really leave a mark…

        • Tom von Mises

They’ed have a tough time in many suburbs, including mine, where the black retired Marine Master Sgt next door would reapply some quick “Marine discipline”, along with the black former Army SFC MP four doors down, whose sons DARE NOT wear their hat backwards.

          • pupsncats

Thank you for pointing out not all blacks have been indoctrinated into a fatherless, lawless, entitlement lifestyle which isn’t advertised much for fear of being labeled Uncle Toms.

        • Sam197859

          So does corn squeezings, heehaw

          • UCSPanther

If you are dumb enough to mess with rural dwellers, then you are taking a huge chance with feeding the coyotes…

        • Guest

But it’s a lot harder to protect your children from being exposed to stalkers via Internet hacking. Which is exactly what “Anonymous” identified people are doing in Ferguson.

    • Guest

That’s exactly what is being asserted in the Facebook comments on the St. Louis Today link above (“But there are solutions”).

Actually the comments I refer to are on a related piece currently in the most popular list on the hacking of Ferguson’s city hall computers by people claiming the Anonymous meme, who did things like publish the police chief’s address and photos of his wife and children.

They are HEROES, those hackers! Look how nicely they destroy public infrastructure and spout ideological abstractions! Heroes, I tells ya!

Read them for some of the most twisted left-totalitarian thinking you’ll ever encounter. Or should I say some of the most twisted global-world-order speculative-capital-uber-alles anti-nationalist anti-local anti-white thinking…because at this point I’m starting to think most Fakebook comments are generated by paid PR/mind engineering agents of Zuckerberg and his globalista bazillionaire buddies.

      • Guest

Oh, I failed to close the point I was making–this sort of “activism” makes sure that the violence leaves those hoods and does things like drag innocent children into the line of fire. The whole point is to make sure there is nowhere safe for anyone.

Which is why people are arming up.

And the thing is? Those “activists” and their admirers think that’s just dandy. Because Gaza. Which is shorthand for, Palestinians and Hamasites use their children as human shields, so sometimes they get killed, therefore we can put any child anywhere at any time in the line of fire. Because we are Anonymous.

        Seriously sick $!&*%$s.

  • Gee

The current American administration is a crowd of cowards, Americans are anything but cowards.

    • Tom von Mises

Well, many Americans are not cowards, but many, perhaps most, are. Notice how many have remained silent for decades while hippy-dippy leftism became the mainstream. Not only did they remain silent, but they adopted most of it hoping to be popular, rather than pariahs.

      • Sam197859

As compared to running in place while the world leaves us behind. Why is most of the world are more advance in math and science than this country?

        • pupsncats

Because our “educational” system since the end of the 50′s has been nothing but experiment after experiment of progressive ideologies which all mandate a collectivist, brainwashing of the mind instead of an actual education.

          • *Sharpshooter

Our education system shifted back in the 1920s, not the 50s, with the advent of “Progressive” system of John Dewey.

            Then, too:
In 1786, Benjamin Rush, an early advocate of American independence who became known as the “father” of American psychiatry, wrote: “Let our pupil be taught that he does not belong to himself, but that he is public property.” “A system of national education,” argued Noah Webster (of dictionary fame) in 1790, will “implant in the minds of American youth…an inviolable attachment to their own country.” –The Roots of State Education, George H. Smith.

          • Sam197859

You must be talking about parochial schools and not public schools, which teaches critical thinking, which conservatives hate..

          • pupsncats

Dewey and Rush, both father’s of the destruction of the individual and the individual’s mind. Herd the kids into mandatory indoctrination centers, feed them propaganda, and today, drug them up by labeling them with ADD so they can be pliant slaves to a tyrannical state.

          • Sam197859

You mean actually thinking is the worst thing that can ever happen? Progressism is all about thinking and achieving and not about reinventing the wheel, over and over again. When you bring up collectivist you must be talking about conservatism

          • pupsncats

You mean everyone is trained to think alike and the thoughts have to be those of liberals/Dems/Socialists/Progressives/Communists (all the same.)

        • *Sharpshooter

          Huh?

          • Sam197859

What? Shot yourself in the mouth?

    • Sam197859

Yes it is when you bring in fear and ignorance

    • Sam197859

And how is the current administration cowards?

      • Gee

Appeasing rioters and terrorists. Don’t read much news do you?

        • pupsncats

Sam is the “useful idiot” that Lenin so cleverly knew would do the dirty work necessary to enshrine a Socialist first, Communist later, mindset.

          • Sam197859

People, like you, just prove that thinking is not your strong suit. Leninist, socialist and communist? You, are funny. I doubt you you even know what these terms mean. A “useful” idiot will believe anything someone tells them and “informed” person thinks for themselves. I am my own person, what your excuse?

        • Sam197859

You do not do enough research, now do you? What is the purpose of the CIA? Try thinking before you respond. Learn the history of this country instead of zeroing in on what the present administration is doing. You will learn something instead of being blind to the ways of the world. The present administration is not the only ones that have done this.

        • Sam197859

When you talk about the news, whose version? I rely on independent sites not corporate controlled ones. You need to expand your horizons.

  • truebearing

    “Justice is free sh*t.”

These rioters couldn’t care less about the punk who got killed. They kill each other every day. Blacks make up just 13% of the population, commit 50% of the murders, with 90% of the murders of blacks committed by blacks. But apparently killing each other doesn’t cry out for the kind of justice that only looting can provide.

Sometimes it seems like blacks go out of their way to encourage people to dislike, distrust, and shun them. But that is the fault of white people, too… somehow.

I remember the riots in the 60s where shoot-to-kill orders were given. We’re definitely headed in that direction, only this time it may be Holder announcing to blacks that he won’t prosecute them if they kill whitey.

    • JR Kipling

Look at it this way. The final years of Obama will make clear to everyone
that the Left is nothing but a Mafia.

      • Sam197859

And the Right is nothing but Nazis. It is bad that these fools are looting. It makes this whole event look bad, No one knows what happen but are relying on hearsay information. Now, add the usual race pimps and other losers and you get chaos. Stupid breeds more stupidity. That is so sad.

    • Viet Vet

It just an excuse to act like, like, like…..this.

  • Viet Vet

What a bunch of friggen animals! Not hard to see why Odumbo is equipped soley for a banana republic.

    • Sam197859

Too much weed or agent orange made you goofy? You are just as bad as the people you call “animals”. I have no respect for them either. or people

  • eco_renewal

I would burn down their neighborhood, blame it on the rioters, and build a golf course, a Trader Joe’s, some cul-de-sacs, and professional offices in there place.

  • De Doc

Nothing says justice for the little guy more than a brotha’ running from a burning store with a couple of 40s tucked under each arm.

    • UCSPanther

Never get between a ghetto rat and his ice cold Colt 45…

      • Sam197859

Or a Klansman with a shotgun and a noose.

        • UCSPanther

I’ll take the shotgun, but I don’t feel the need to wear a bedsheet and claim my race is superior 24/7.

          • Sam197859

            Your sad. Superior to who?

          • Sharon

Superior by far than these people who consistently loot, pillage and rob but are too stupid not to do it in their own neighborhood.. Or..wait.. maybe that isn’t so stupid… because out here we are locked and loaded and just hoping the idiots DARE come our way. You remarks show you to be ignorant and utterly filled with hatred for the REAL people out here who work every day to support their families and who believe in God and Country. You are what has destroyed the good of this nation with your snarky leftist, liberal garbage!

          • Sam197859

I have no hate for people of any color, Why do you assume that? Because I am black? Do you assume that all blacks are on assistance? You do not know many ,like me ,because you believe what you believe but fail to understand you do not generalize people base on race but character. You are a NOT a Real person but a fool. You, are just as guilty, as the people who do stupid things to destroy their communities. This has nothing to do with liberalizism or conservatism, per se, but all about fear and ignorance in which BOTH are guilty of doing, equally, but using different approaches to accomplish it.

          • UCSPanther

I’ll tell you what I am superior to: People who use police shootings and other incidents as an excuse to riot.

“Hey, did you hear? A kid was shot by the police! Let’s riot, loot and otherwise cause as much destruction as possible! Stick it the the Man!”

          • Sam197859

Being concern with looting and riot does not make you superior but concern. I am concern about that too. There are a lot of black people who do not support that action of these few people and do not support any thing that either Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton or that idiot Ben Crump are doing. I am sick and tired of people who do not take responsibility for their behavior but yet blames everyone else for their problems. That is the basic problem in the urban environment . Instead of waiting for this to play out, these people made up their own conclusions and when the truth ,eventually come out, like the Trayvon Martin/ George Zimmerman affair, how will they respond? People will eventually get tired of this and will stop supporting these people. Who is going to help them now? You cannot keep calling people racist names and expect them to help you. The militarization of the police is a concern but the weaponry of the criminals is also a concern too. Where are the criminal getting those weapons?

  • Tom von Mises

Postmodernism, aka leftism, progressivism, “black culture”, call it what you will; it’s right out of the primitive/ tribal play book.

Here’s another picture worth 1000 words:

    • CowboyUp

The guy in the background looks like one of the ‘witnesses’ that was on tv.

      • JewelWaters

Yah – I agree. I think it is Dorian Johnson…. the “witness” who told so many lies (supposed “innocent teen(NOT)” attacked b/c of “racism” (NOT) …) that all these riots therefore evolved.

Dorian has a long historic pattern of crimes/violence, even wanted on 2011 Warrant for such in Jeff, MO.

Complete criminals. M.Brown sadly got what he deserved after physically assaulting the officer. Dorian needs to be in prison ASAP – esp for inciting all these riots w/ his lies.

    • Daniel Greenfield

Obviously they shot him for drinking Hawaiian punch. We need a Hawaiian punch march.

      • Sharon

he wants to be seen as what he is apparently… a thug… none of my three sons ever posed holding a gun and posing like this on facebook or anywhere else nor would they dream of doing it. But it seems like black boys can neither pull their pants up or be a real man without acting like a thug.

    • UCSPanther

I’m more interested in what the bottle nearest the “teen” is.

Looks like some kind of booze…

    • JewelWaters

6’4″ 300lb “man” – esp by medical and legal standards where any human over 18yo is ADULT.

NO “innocent” “teen” here. not at all.

  • Sam197859

I don think it is cowardice but fear.

    • UCSPanther

Trashing and looting small businesses is a crime. Period.

      • Sam197859

Yes it is a crime. Thank you for making that obvious., Duh

        • JewelWaters

I.e., NOBODY is to blame except the CRIMINALS doing the looting/violence. The article above stated people other than the criminals were causing this so thus it’s not a crime (e.g., “racism” from “police”, “politics”, “economy”_, etc.)

Perhaps you should try to comprehend the topic before attempting to assert you know what’s going on here (b/c you do NOT).

    • JewelWaters

Same thing, Sherlock. “Cowardice” is the lack of bravery (stregth to carry on despite the presence of fear).

      Keep trying.

  • Yechiel

I’m sorry, but your reasoning here is fatal. First off, I’m sure you’ve heard of the LA riots and the riots in the 60s which were much worse. Or how about the LA riots. Cops did not do riot control looking like infantry or in armored vehicles then. It is extremely excessive. I would even compare it to the SS. Militarizing the police force is extremely dangerous. When they turn around and use it on people who don’t agree with them will you still defend them? By then it will be too late. There is no need for any branch of government other than the military to have armored cars. If the city feels the cops will be put in grave danger, than bring in the national guard. I don’t know where you’ve been recently, but the america I’m living in has given cops complete authority. Look at staten island. A man KILLED for selling cigarettes! I don’t care what his past record was, tax evasion is not a crime punishable by death. Around the country police are becoming a lawless force with out repercussions. They are no longer bound by law and order. This is the last chance to scale back law enforcment in this country, if its not to late. Letting them play macho warrior is not a step in the right direction. As the age old adage goes, “If you can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen”. Personally, I’m in favor of taking guns away from law enforcement. It will force them to thing twice before making irreversible moves. Thing this is a conspiracy theary? Tell that to the two year old girl who had a flashbang thrown in her crib. Oops, turns out the guy they were looking for wasn’t there.

    • pupsncats

Most likely the history of past riots such as in LA and in the 60′s is one reason law enforcement has ratched up its arsenal so as to avoid an escalation to that level in current day riots. Add the fact that the black communities have been decimated by Democrat-run cities and the educational establishment, media and Obama have all served to keep the flames of racism alive.
You say the police are no longer bound by law and order. Neither is the president of the U.S. or the Department of Justice.

      • Yechiel

You don’t seem to understand. When are armed forces overseas have a higher standard of ROEs than our law enforcement we have reach a state of police state.

daniel: First off, just saw a video of the LA riots. One asian owned store had a group of men lined on the roof clearly displaying rifles and the looters gave the store a wide berth. I occurs to me that these people are looking for a free ride; as soon as they reach resistance they will obviously move on to an easier target. The SS didn’t have access to armored vehicles as they were not in existence, but I’m sure you won’t deny they were essentially a militarized police force used to terror civilians.

And to say that they would never use such force on law abiding citizens is folly, one need only to point at the IRS and its smidgen of corruption. Whose to say such a show of force won’t be shown at the next tea party rally?

pupsncats: As I mentioned above, if the mayor or governor feels the regular police force is inadequate, by all means call in the national guard. But under no circumstance can we let our police forces militarize to such an extent. It is a threat to every liberty we hold dear (not that we have any left in reality).

        • Guest

          What nonsense.

The point of law enforcement is to project force to stop lawbreakers.

If lawbreakers need LE equipped with the latest military technology to persuade them to stop their community-destroying behavior, so be it. Nothing less will work.

Also, enough with the SS references. I’m so sick of century-old corporate-media Jewish memes being trotted out to jerk the knees lefty hivemind.

Hitler is OVER. And if you Jews had armed in the 1920s and 1930s, instead of acting like docile urban hive puppies figuring out the main chance angles, he never would have risen to power. He didn’t dare invade we Finns.

          • Sam197859

Hitler also did not mess with the Swiss, either.

        • pupsncats

Tragically, the countries of Western Civilization have signed their own death warrant by destroying all of the foundations, principles and values that are necessary for a free society, thereby creating a need for a militarized police force. The never-ending and expanding laws, rules, fines, taxes, penalties and government mandates in all areas of human life make it near impossible for anyone to be a law-abiding citizen. The cultural acceptance of all kinds of vice as virtues and the daily onslaught against the innocence of children who are herded to indoctrination centers called public schools and whose parents are too busy and too brainwashed to defend them against the destruction of any form of future liberty, guarantee the coming of a total police state. The leaders of the countries of Western Civilization are criminals, corrupt to the core and encourage violence and lawlessness in order for them to gain complete control and power. There will be much more violence in the streets as it is both encouraged and defended by the those like Obama and Eric Holder who won’t let “a crisis go to waste” to serve the expansion of the dictatorial state.

          • JewelWaters

Sweets – this is not true only for W.Civ’s. Mid East Asia, Central Asia, & all other nations (Africa) have done the same, or even worse. You are either sadly ignorant from extreme lack of education &/or are brainwashed – either way you have all my sympathy.

        • JewelWaters

Completely disagree. Join a police force in a major city & battle criminals with hi-power weapons. You’ll be considered “militarized” 2 seconds into your new job.

    • Daniel Greenfield

You don’t seem very familiar with the SS.

The problem with the SS wasn’t that they wore riot gear (they didn’t.)

Now take another look at those photos. Imagine that you live there. Imagine that your family does.

Imagine that you own one of those stores.

You might find that you’re in need of some of those men “playing macho warrior”.

    • Sam197859

If you take guns away from law enforcement then the criminal take over. Do you really want that? You are an idiot.

    • De Doc

Oy! I can’t resist correcting those who spread historically inaccurate info!

Motorized armored vehicles were around since WW1 (1914-18) and by the Second World War, they were common to all invovled in that horrendous conflict.

The Waffen SS (a frontline combat arm of the organization) had entire armor divisions at their disposal. The Allgemeine SS, which was primarily aimed at civilians, also had light armor vehicles available depending on their operations and deployment. Regardless of which SS arm we study, both have some rather barbarous histories based on their activities during that war. Comparing the SS to riot police in the US is a bit of a stretch.

Where in the heck did you get your history dude?

    • Sharon

I for one am GLAD for the cops… these so called people are out of control and I sure as heck don’t want to see them come down my street burning, raping and looting! Your so stupid you cannot see that those police officers and their equipment are all that stands between you and these animals!

    • JewelWaters

The riots from DECADES ago didn’t involve hi-power automatice weapons/rifles, bombs, etc. Agree there is too much “militarization” growing exponentially in todays police forces, but some of it is justified pending whatever weapons the criminals have.

Comparing Ferg. riots to those decades ago is completely irrelevant and moot.

  • pupsncats

To her credit, Brown’s mother asked for the rioting to stop.

  • pupsncats

Lemon went on to say: “I understand because the ghettos and lawlessness and hopelessness in black communities created by these Democrat-controlled cities and the decades of educational, media, Hollywood, music and academia influences to create an entitlement mindset and fan the flames of racism has created these fatherless, unemployed, and angry people who lash out at every opportunity with violence because their whole lives have been an indoctrination of vice is good, virtue is bad, and the white man is always your enemy.”

    • Sharon

Excuse me while I agree that the Democrats did this.. what ever happened to doing what our fathers did, and our grandfathers etc… get out of the area and go CREATE A LIFE.. WORK HARD…. LIVE RIGHT!.. no more excuses for these blacks!!!!

      • pupsncats

Sharon, my post was a joke. Lemon would never say anything to explain the truth of why so many in the black communities resort to violence.
Of course you are right. But in our culture today, one is never held accountable, particularly if one is a minority; it is always someone else’s fault if your life is a disaster.

  • Lanna

Its quite obvious that this crowd of rioters and looters does not want justice, they want to cause chaos and violence, they don’t want to wait for the law to be enforced after all the facts come out. Governor Nixon and Captain Ron Johnson have been handling this situation with integrity and in a correct lawful manner…Its the riotous few minority Black Panthers that are causing the trouble!

  • JewelWaters

Am sure the Ferg police have had failures, but BLAMing them for these riots is pitifully illogical. Only these criminals & thugs take the BLAME for THEIR OWN ACTIONS. Their own CHOICE to do crimes in response to possible bad news is their own fault, not anyone elses.

Even the parents of M.Brown, let alone millions of other Af.Amer citizens, are able to react to possibly bad news in a healthy, constructive manner that does not violate the rights of others. These criminals have only themselves to blame.

Pitiful article, Greenfield. Needs much work.
