If dullards like you were ever to pay attention to the words spoken, not the "Color" of the man's skin, maybe we would not be having this conversation.
Why should we worry more about debt than we do about the environment? Since the dollar is a fiat currency, we can never run out of dollars. I understand that printing more dollars devalues the dollars currently in existence, but that would be good for jobs would't it? Other nations, like China and Japan buy dollars to artificially make their currency weaker while making the dollar stronger. This makes it easier to export their products to the US and more difficult for us to sell to them. Global warming, on the other hand, is real. It's not new science. It's not unproven science. It's physics. http://www.aps.org/units/fps/newsletters/200807/hafemeister.cfm
Conclusion: Earth is getting warmer. Basic atmospheric models clearly predict that additional greenhouse gasses will raise the temperature of Earth. To argue otherwise, one must prove a physical mechanism that gives a reasonable alternative cause of warming. This has not been done. Sunspot and temperature correlations do not prove causality.

Global warming is not going away. Spend money. Attempt to alleviate some of the pain. Save as many species as you can (even Republicans).

Something else that seems odd is that this bill mandates sending water into the Central Valley, but all of the reservoirs are very low and there's no water to send.
Maybe the Republicans can pass a bill that would mandate God to make it rain.

maybe a better way is to use the Israeli invention called drip system to grow crops, it used water very efficiently and uses a lot less of it. it is cheap enough and very effective. i am surprised that no one thought of it. of course it does not work as well with live stock.

May be semantics, but Obama didn't "cause" the drought, he and others exacerbate it by limiting the water supply thru legislation. Even with water its still a drought, but not as painful since you can irrigate things.

Saying he caused the drought brings up connotations of him waving his pen and phone and the rain clouds magically disappearing, rather than what he is actually doing: making it hurt ;)

Your dear leader "leads" the same way he bowls; self-possessed, belligerent, haughty, and wreckless.

But you're correct: I should have said that he possesses "no logic skills".

Bowling does require a little logic: if you just square your damn shoulders, look at the correct arrow or pin, maintain a straight delivery of the ball, and be consistent, you will score MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH(!!) higher than a 37. Little kids, half paying attention and without bumper guards, score higher than did our demagogue-in-chief.

We're suffering an inadequate, yet dangerously egomaniacal President, your veiled defense speaks volumes about your own selfishness, belligerence, haughtiness, and wrecklessness.

Good idea, I bet you're the first who ever thought of that. They already have progressive water rates and prohibitions on water usage during drought in many municipalities...people don't fill their pools on a regular basis so it's not really a major consumer, and golf courses and other large grass area in SoCal use drought tolerant grass and gray water irrigation which would just go down the sewer if it were not used. People are starting to plant their lawns with a more water friendly fauna as well, my neighbor just did. Palm springs is not on the San Joaquin water system...the issue in the agricultural area of the San Joaquin valley is created solely by environmental politics.

How about Californians stop using water for things that could not exist naturally in a semi-arid climate, say, golf courses, swimming pools, and lawns? How much water could be saved and diverted to agriculture if Palm Springs in the desert didn't have golf? If there were no backyard pools in LA County and elsewhere? If front yards across the state were planted with the native flora that can survive on the natural rainfall?

California has the delta smelt on its protected species list and mandates a certain volume of water to be released into the San Joaquin river to maintain the fish's habitat. Unfortunately, for the last several years there has not been enough rainfall to supply both the farmers AND satisfy the endangered species mandate (California is prone to extended drought, this is nothing new or related to global warming, in fact it is why we have such a vast water infrastructure in the first place). Liberal politicians, pandering to their environmental constituency, when faced with the choice of letting farmers have the water or letting the water go down the river to the fish have chosen the fish over the farmers. As a result, the nation has had rising food costs due to reduced production and more importation from places like Mexico. The water scarcity is a combination of continuing drought conditions which we get every decade or two, and bad politics that favor fish over human beings. Next time you go to the store and pay huge amounts of money for produce...you know who to blame.
