Obama Blew $120 Billion on Global Warming

That’s more than twice the annual Social Security deficit. But who cares about the seniors when the world is about to end unless a whole bunch of campaign donors and their companies get piles of taxpayer money.

What could you do with 120 billion dollars? It’s enough money to buy an iPad for every kid in school, pay for a months worth of gas for every American or give a $323 tax rebate to every American.

It would be more than enough to revive the space program or actually fund the military.

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said Wednesday at a hearing on the Defense Department’s Fiscal Year 2015 budget that President Barack Obama has wasted $120 billion on global warming over the past five years – money that would be better spent on the military.

“I’ve been working on this for quite some time … In the last five years, between 2009 and 2014, the president has spent $120 billion on the environmental agenda, mostly global warming, climate and that type of thing,” said Inhofe. “And in that respect, if you’ll just take the amount that was not authorized by Congress — and I’m talking about the environmental agenda, you could actually buy 1,400 F-35s.”

The F-35 Lightning II, made by Lockheed Martin, is considered the world’s most advanced multi-role fighter and “will enable pilots to be six to eight times more effective in air-to-air missions, air-to ground missions and surveillance missions.” It is “first to enter the battle space, has a 360-degree view of the battlefield and is first to see adversaries and take action – allowing our pilots to carry out their missions and return home safely.”

But who needs jets. They’re outdated technology like horses and bayonets. Instead our leaders have mastered the fine art of drawing red lines and then pretending that no one stepped over them.

Going on $18 Trillion in debt now with Obama racking up $8 Trillion so far and has three years left to probably make our debt around $22 Trillion. This amount is beyond our ability to ever pay it back. So totally irresponsible.

      For me the point is not whether we spent it on SS or aircraft (which by the way IS a Constitutional requirement–defense of our nation), but that it got pissed away on an ideology that has no true basis in fact, and that even if it did have ANY effect, it would be a drop in the bucket in the big scheme. What we need to discuss is not what the money is spent on, as much as SAVING the money (not spending any money) to lower the deficit. Only when we secure the survivability of our nation can we begin to even discuss other mega projects.

            Third, most of the founding fathers were ministers, who went on to create most of the colleges/universities of the time. The “religious tests” you mentioned were actually built into the Constitution and our Judeo/Christian laws. if you actually knew something about them you would already know this.             be fooled too.

    We should take “global warming” and it’s supporters to court where, since only facts are considered and “what ifs” and “could happens”, do not count, so it will be exposed as a total sham, and charge its perpetrators with fraud, which gives you the right to assess treble damages. Is there global temperature change? You are darnn right there is but it has never in millions of years been enough of a problem to where it could be changed by humans. If we assumed that these “ingnoranti” were right, a temperature increase of 1 degree over a 70 year period is harmless.     Solar and wind are dismal solutions. But geothermal is viable, the
    technology is ready, its completely scalable ..despite what our city
    engineers misunderstand and then misdirect us at their public hearings. The solutions are
    right in front of us but our legislators and media will doom us for
    decades of more $$$ (gov’t contracts).

    Obama’s waste of so much money breaks my heart into a thousand pieces. I live on less than 10K a year. The elite of this country have sucked the life blood from us. They live high while they take this nation down with nary a care for tomorrow.

Same thing for coal, we were blessed with it, it is plentiful and it provides jobs for those who aren’t scared of working hard but this evil government demonizes it for their own agenda. I have made a living bring oil and gas to America, hands on underwater offshore but I am barely making a living now, m work has dwindled over the last five years!
